  • Decluttering can transform a person's life.
    If you wish to change something in your life, they say to start with your environment- your home.
    During the tidying process there comes a moment when you realize that you have just the right amount of stuff. My goal was to not only complete the KonMari method 100% fully and completely, but also to feel content and satisfied with the things I own.
    I hope this video inspired you! Let me know in the comment section of which tip you found the most helpful.

    Fabulous. It's the first I have seen which shows all areas on one video. I found that really good. Concise, visually great, 11:36 long is excellent. Thank you!

      I'm so glad you enjoyed the format of the video. I found that most konmari videos were either too long or broken up into too many videos so I wanted to make a quick guideline and show the most important parts of the process.

      Its amazing how quickly children pick this up! I think its so great that your daughter is learning to live minimally at a young age. I really wish I started way sooner so I would shop with intent.

    I have a hard time with her book method. I personally read my books over and over kind of like a favorite TV program. I think it boils down to doing whatever it take to clear out clutter and find joy wherever you can.

    • @ItsGloryDaze
      @ItsGloryDaze  5 лет назад +2

      Julianna Tyler her method is no different with books. If you see yourself re-reading all of your books over and over again and they make you happy then great! They clearly bring you joy. Those are the type of items you should keep and cherish. Personally, I love books very much too and try to read at least 2-3 a month if I can. But I’ve been borrowing books from the library or friends and keeping track of them on the app Goodreads, so it’s like a digital bookshelf of all the fun stories I have experienced and a less physical way to keep track. Do what works for you and if your environment makes you happy and productive you’ve succeeded! Happy decluttering ❤️

    For those of us who have very little time to take everything out...I suggest tackling one drawer or section of a wardrobe a day... You gradually make progress aid that also keeps you motivated!! I sorted one huge pile in one day then had very little time... So now its one drawer a day..a drawer in the kitchen and /or in the bedroom... Just try it!! 😊

    • @ItsGloryDaze
      @ItsGloryDaze  7 лет назад +1

      Oh good! I'll admit I lost some steam halfway through but setting a goal and a time limit to complete it really motivated me to get through it all. Remember that there is an end point (the light at the end of the tunnel), because you only have a certain amount of stuff!

  • @m.brantome2511

    Yes, don’t start reading the books.... but make sure to flip through the pages before you get rid of them! I discarded several hundred books and found an envelope with 700 Euro in one of them - a present for me which I had completely forgotten about. Also, a few very dear and personal things, so really do make sure to flip through them ALL.

    Well done! My problem is I've been married 28 years with one son and live in a fairly big home. My husband and son are hoarders and I have little energy. I keep watching videos such as yours for motivation.😊

    • @ItsGloryDaze
      @ItsGloryDaze  7 лет назад +7

      One tip that might help you is to not worry about other people's belongings. Usually when someone else's clutter bothers you is because you haven't assessed your own belongings first. Decluttering is contagious and once they see you going through the process they may be motivated to look at their own items. (My fiancé refused to get rid of any of his clothes but once he saw me doing it he caught on and got rid of a lot!) Just do it one category at a time and you'll probably be reenergized once your environment is tidied. Good luck! I believe in you!

    Pro tip! Jaoanese aren't homeowners typically, so keeping papers is useless. However, when owning a home, you need to keep a lot of papers and important documents, especially receipts, as those purchases improve your home value when you go to sell. Physical copies are better than electronic.
    For study notes, certain professions require certifications to be renewed every year or every few years. Those notes from college are hugely beneficial. NEVER follow the advice to just throw away study notes.

    Wow you did a great job. We recently started KonMari, didn't give ourselves a tight time line though as we knew with a 1 year old and business to run we would just have to dip in and out when we could. But Im enjoying it so far and have made some great space in our home now. Filming it all too, which is fun to see a real difference

    • @ItsGloryDaze
      @ItsGloryDaze  7 лет назад

      That's awesome! I'm so glad the video has inspired you to look at your own belongings in a new way. Marie Kondo says if you have a hard time of letting something go you should verbally thank the item for living out its purpose. It's just a way to feel gratitude towards an object and no longer feel guilt in holding onto it. 😌

    • @Maria-vm1ih
      @Maria-vm1ih 7 лет назад

      I like that a lot! I often become very sentimental and attached to items because I relate them to different times of my life. However, I also feel better knowing that my belongings that I'm no longer using are bringing joy to someone else's life.

    • @ItsGloryDaze
      @ItsGloryDaze  7 лет назад

      Haha I always get compliments on my socks 😆
      I was really hesitant to start the kitchen but it felt so good to wipe down all the shelves and take everything out and just rearrange them too. If you have a lot of stuff you can always break it down into smaller categories: glassware, dishes, pots/pans, silverware & utensils, fridge, pantry, etc. It helped me a lot to stay motivated by tackling one at a time. Good luck!

For myself ever since I’ve done it I have gotten married, made some new close friends, and found more inner peace.
