Loved your reaction…and they are just as good live. Took my adult daughter to see them and she said “I finally get why you love classic guitar rock”. I think she about died during Jake’s amazing guitar solos.

I am 60 years old and have been to hundreds of concerts. This band is in my top 5 of all time. Saw them at MSG last month. Blew me away.

I saw them in August. Fantastic show! All ages represented, too, which was super encouraging to see.
I got hooked on this band 5 years ago. They are even better now and a great live band.

i saw them live for the first time a couple days ago and they’re even better live bc they feed of eachother and the audience. as a 15 year old girl, i’m so excited to see where they take music
I'm smiling thinking about you getting to follow along with them in their career. I encountered Led Zeppelin when I was close to your age many years ago, but they had disbanded just a few years prior, so I never got to see them or wait excitedly for their next album. This GVF journey is like a second chance at that, and I had pretty much given up hope of that ever happening.

Guys~you have not lived until you see these guys live!!!! OMG, the energy & the talent are unbelievable. They are on tour right now. You should really check them out. And as far as their vinyls, you def need them. The Battle at Gardens Gate is one of the best albums ever. I'm 59 years old & have seen some of the greats & these guys are one of the greats!!! Please keep going down the rabbit hole. Anything live! The Age of Man & Flower Power, live @ Red Rocks, & The Weight of Dreams are a must. Then anything from their Candle Light Sessions. (esp Broken Bells) I can't wait until you do more!

I so agree with you about how we "elders" were absolutely blessed with the gift of TRUE music. Albums. Turntables, No auto tune, Album covers. To listen to music took effort and care. Find the album, pull the album out of the cover. Place the album on the turn table, place the needle carefully...don't dance too wildly or you might skip /scratch the album. And there was no musical ADHD...where you skip from one song to another digitally every 5 seconds. You sat down and gave effort to the act of listening.

Been following them since 2018. I own all their discography on vinyl. Been collecting since the beginning. Definitely do more reactions. This track was from their debut album. Their sound has evolved and they sound even better. One of the few bands that sound better live.

The Red Rocks concert video is epic, and that is several years ago. It is really good to watch in its entirety.

Those kids give me hope for rock and roll and the world itself!! Not kidding!! Their lyrics. Saw them in concert and they are effing Amazing. Wide awake to boot 🔥

Sticking out the tongue opens up the back of the throat making a nice clear but strong sound. Check out some of their live videos, he has the most animated face when he sings and it’s not always pretty. Every different face and mouth shape makes a different sound, which is part of his great range. His vocal teacher taught him well. You’ll also see he lifts his arms up and holds them for a bit, which is opening up his lungs. Watch the “Heat Above” video and notice how long it takes him to take a breath at the opening of the song, and it is effortless for him. Some see it as showmanship, which it is, but it also helps his voice. He knows what he’s doing. If I was a vocal teacher, I would be showing my students videos of his face when he’s singing. IMO the best male vocalist out right now.

They are the only newer band i will listen to! 3 brothers and a friend from Frankenmuth Michigan. The singer and guitarist are twins...the bassist/keyboardist is their younger brother and a friend on the drums.

65F here. I love these boys! Real rock done to perfection!
1) singers stick their tongues out to get a more open throated sound.
2) they are phenomenal live! You should react to some of their live videos.
3) They are really young and 3 of them are brothers. Jake the guitarist and Josh the singer are twins and Sammy, bassist and keys is their younger brother. Danny the drummer is a childhood friend. Today, the twins are 27 and Sammy and Danny are 23 I think.

THEY ARE ONE IN 100,000,000 FO SHO!!! My daughter and I have seen them THREE TIMES! First time was at Forest Hills Stadium BY THE BARRICADE! EVERYONE should experience Greta Van Fleet at least ONCE by a barricade! It is a TRUE RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCE!

Great job guys. I took recently came across this band. I listen to a lot of Led Zeppelin and they kept popping up in my suggestions, I ignored them. I watched Robert Plant interview you mentioned and thought I better check into this band. Love them! 3 brothers and a lifelong friend. Check out "HEAT ABOVE" lead singer gives me Geddy Lee vibes from Rush. Also Candlelight Sessions are amazing.

Great reaction, guys. You should also check out Highway Tune (their first hit) and Safari Song for the Led Zeppelin vibe. However, GVF's latest stuff is much more progressive rock and you will see influences of Moody Blues, Procol Harum and Pink Floyd in their music. If you truly love 70's rock, you will love what GVF is doing.

You NEED to do more GVF reactions. They’ve really grown, personally & professionally & it shows in their newer stuff. When the curtain falls debuted when Josh & Jake were 22 & Sam was 19!?!?!?!?! Can you imagine their parents had all 3 of their boys SO musically inclined?

This music video was my first introduction to Greta Van Fleet about a year ago. I had the exact same reaction. My jaw dropped. I’ve been waiting a couple of decades for this band. We need real bands again. I’m so stoked in these guys.

Sticking out the tongue to reach high notes is a singer's tool. It pushes the voice up out of the chest to the back of the mouth/upper throat (head voice), where it needs to be to get high notes at high volume.
Right before they got big, they were doing this special performance at Bronner's Christmas store in Frankenmuth. Shortly before they went on stage they were throwing a fit because they wouldn't let them wear their belly shirts😂

Josh is a total powerhouse vocalist, the range is insane, and he pulls it off every single night, and makes it look like he's not even trying. And Jake is a guitar hero in the making. His love and passion is undeniable when you see them live. Live is where it's at, that's where they shine the most. ("The Weight Of Dreams" live at Pinkpop...jussayin 😉)

Talent is talent. You either got it or don't. Greta Van Fleet has it. What's wrong if they happen to remind you of someone else? Nothing. They are bringing back classic rock. What's wrong with that? Nothing.

No, they’re not Led Zeppelin, nor Led Zeppelin 2.0, they are freaking Greta Van Fleet!
Josh playes with his voice like few others, and they really have developed their sound on their two newest albums.
Sure, he’s high pitched with crazy pitch control, but so are the singers of Gun N’ Roses, AC/DC, DAD and many other rockbands. Like yes, they sound like Led Zeppelin at some points, but so does many other bands at some points, and I feel like this trend of calling them ‘the new-something’ is dismissing their enormous talent and implying that they’re just copying what worked 50 years ago.
No, they’re not, god dammit! They create their own music, their own sound, they build it up, creatively, just like they did 50 years ago. And they deserve the same respect for their hard work!

I think you may be reading a little Too much into the "Zeppelin thing" There recent music has matured beyond this.. Josh , the lead singer has recently taken on a very Freddie Mercury , mixed with Janis Joplin vibe. There music is maturing , and they are really coming into themselves. You really need to react to the official music video for their song " Heat Above" . Tell me they don't give you Queen Vibes in that song.
The guys have said they grew up listening to their dads albums, Zeppelin was big in the collection. Their newer music has a much more distinctive sound that is Greta Van Fleet rather than Zeppelin.

You need see actual Robert Plant videos - Plant didn't give them a blessing. You clearly missed the video in which Robert says [There's a little cute guy from Michigan and stole his voice from someone I know very well. Then he [or they] said their main influence was Aerosmith]. Robert then rolls his eyes and make a loud snoring sound.
Tell the truth I saw him live And he hits Note Robert Plant could never hit. I think I Live, he's the best singer out there.

Exactly. People are pissed because some of the links and riffage is similar and their vocals are similar. Led zeppelin took whole songs and didn't give the original artists credit. Leave em alone lol
