    Thank you for this!!!! I thought I was the only one who put the kids names on top instead of the subjects. You just brought clarity to what I already do. This helped me a lot! Thank you!

    Hi! New to your channel! Just purchased my first Erin Condren planner today and looked up videos how other homeschooling mom's have used it. Your videos are great! Thank you for also mentioning 'World Watch' - just signed up for a subscription today!

    I haven’t watched the entire video yet, but I fast forwarded to get a quick glimpse.
    Looks like we plan similarly, except I reverse plan. I currently use a teacher happy planner, but I don’t like the discs. I’d much rather have spiral coil.
    My Emma uses the first 3 columns for LA, Math, & Independent work. My youngest has the same columns on the following page. The very last column we use for “dual lessons”, which we cover history or science.
    I color coordinate too; Emma is all dark blue, anything fun or kudos are in teal. My youngest is dark pink, with fun stuff in hot pink, dual lessons are purple.

    Ok I tried to figure it out but where is that tracker from in the side binder you can see for Lucy at time stamp 17:48?? I’ve been considering something like this as a quick visual check off tracker like this.

    • @Townsendhouse1
      @Townsendhouse1  11 месяцев назад

      The tracker on the left is my free printable daily habit tracker and it is linked in the description box. If you are talking about the page that is in the 3-ring binder that is teal and white, that is part of the instructor's guide that I get from Sonlight with the curriculum I purchase from them.

      Oh yes I will look again and download! We use Bookshark for history and Sonlight for the assigned readers so I’m familiar with those guides but I really like that tracker on the left. Thanks!

    I use stickers in my planner a couple of years ago but I found that several months in, there was so much "lump" from the added height of where the stickers were, it was annoying on the left side. Towards April I was just done with us sticker lumps! Lol.

    • @Townsendhouse1
      @Townsendhouse1  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, I can definitely picture that happening! I do like not writing their names each week though - even though that is what I have done for the past 7-8 years 🤣 We will see how long I last with the stickers 🙂

    • @thriftyminia
      @thriftyminia 10 месяцев назад

      @janet6473 Same here. I saw the name stickers & was like “wow! I want those!” BUT, that added lump will start to accumulate & that would drive me bonkers.

    I read the Witch of Blackbird Pond in middle school, but I don't remember much of the plot. The way you set up your planner is helping me with my planner. Thank you so much!! My 14 year old son, Caleb, is reluctant to do his schoolwork. He has ADHD. Math is a huge struggle. Do you have any suggestions? We use an online curriculum. Also, Geometry is simply a challenge. I made a D in it when I was in high school.

      I have to say I am not a huge fan of geometry. My oldest did it last year and while she did fine in it, it was a complete slog. Checklists really work for us, and also sitting down while they are doing the math is also a help. I sometimes think the support of just being present with your student while they are working through a difficult subject is very helpful, and can help them stay on track.
      Another option is to get the book "Learn Math Fast" book 7 which is high school geometry. We used this as a supplement with my daughter and it was very helpful - www.amazon.com/shop/townsendhouse1/list/1C3K0NRVXYBU0

      Check out "Denison Algebra" for high school Geometry and Algebra courses for struggling students! Their site has sample lessons and the whole idea is for a positive math experience for those who have hated math. They have online video lessons AND a physical work-text, unlike most curriculums.

    I know this is an older video, but what made you decide to go with this planner over the EC homeschool planner?

    • @Townsendhouse1
      @Townsendhouse1  4 месяца назад +1

      The biggest reason is that the EC Teacher Planner came out first. The homeschool planner wasn't released until July, and by that point we had already started our homeschool year. I do have a full review and walkthrough of the homeschool planner here that shares more of my thoughts - ruclips.net/video/xnDMRajmqHk/видео.html
      I love the additional pages that the homeschool planner offers, but I don't love that there is no customization (adding additional pages I may want). I also much prefer a dated planner. When I first started using an EC Teacher Planner for homeschool planning back in 2015 it was undated, and then when it finally turned to a dated planner, maybe around 2018, I was so excited.
      I am really interested to see what they do this year with regards to the homeschool planner/teacher planner launch.

    • @momofmany6619
      @momofmany6619 4 месяца назад

      @@Townsendhouse1 those are big reasons for me too! I hope they launch it a lot earlier this year and I hope it is dated.
