Great review. I have never been a Jaguar fan (reliability being one of my biggest reservations with the brand), but fell in love with the F-type from the moment I saw one in a parking lot. I actually parked my car and got out just to get a closer look, as it is an absolutely beautiful design. Once I heard the sound of the exhaust, I was in love.
@@aaronrodriguez1410 True, we should take your random statements on the internet instead and ignore the actual, easily obtained data showing that maintenance costs for F-Types are the same as many other common sports cars.
What is the rage with BMWs? Regardless of the number, they all look alike. Same with the tired old face of the Porsches. The F-Type is the “poor man’s super car.” Awesome looks. Pins you back in the seat and turns heads because so few are on the road and people want to know, “what’s THAT fine car?” Thank you, Jaguar, for producing style, class, power, and value for such an incredible car. I have the 2020 P340, and it’s all the F-Type I need. The balance and handling are so fine, and that little stylish devil moves! Thank you for your review. Very nicely done!
I absolutly agree. I own a Jaguar F-Peace S and although the engine and the driving experience is just awsome, the media systems of the car is terrible. Also agree in the seats, the feel cheap. But still its my best driving experience so far
Three years late with a comment! Excellent review. I have the V6 R dynamic 380hp AWD ..completely black. Absolutely love it. Jaguar really did get it right with this one. I was thinking about getting a remap which possibly would take it to 418hp but agree with you now 380 is plenty. Seems that every BMW or Audi driver wants to take you on. I just laugh and say ‘crack on’. Some may have better performance but they look so bland to me. F type has the better looks and heritage.
7:55 - AMEN!!! Having been a crash investigator for the IIHS for 10 years, I am shocked The Institute is not fervently against touch screens. I had an F type R and it was a blast.... wish i never got rid of it. I am looking at downsizing to the V6 I just need to drive and hear one... the sound of supercharged V8 was crack cocaine
I like this iteration of the car, those gills especially being seamlessly integrated into the bumper. I will be in the market for a 2016/2017 V6 manual car in a few months, convertible preferred but I'm not totally ruling out a coupe.
The f type is based on the X150 XK platform which was in turn based on the XJ - so it is sort of a saloon car. Doesn't matter though, I've got an XK which is brilliant and so is the F type!

Good review . I have the exact same car. I have 55000km on the odometer and only had one issue with the active exhaust system (broken, under warranty.). I love the car but like you said, the infotainment system is horendous. Little disappointment too with the sound system. Not as good as my B&O in my Audi S4. Sports seat are very comfortable, even for long runs. Also, It took me 2 years to find a good driving position, where I could see my speed and RPM. Cabin space in sparse...can't even find a place to put a bottle of water (door pocket too small).
Love the spec!!! Love the car and completely agree with your views on touchscreens, they’re impressive on a dealer lot but annoying and unsafe to use whilst driving
having previously owned a jag XE AWD, i can say that the handling was spot on with that car, as the awd system was taken out the f-ype. Also the infotainment system was awful, especially when the incontol apps on my phone stopped supporting spotify. At that time there was no aftermarket device as so much of the cars controls were built in. unless its the pro version of the head unit, this will feel quite dated, or outdated as time goes on
I am seriously considering getting one. Its between an F type or an M3. My wife prefers the M3 but I love the F type. I've never driven one but I've got a test drive booked in 2 weeks, cant wait.
I have a V8 RWD convertible and completely agree the convertible is a must so you are completely immersed in the gorgeous harmonies--the car fills the landscape around you with rousing exotic crescendos that shocks Ferraris and Lambos wanting to race--bad idea on their part--the Jag just obliterates them and they sound like shit by comparison. The insane volume and viciousness of aggressive revs will flatten any competitors tires and shatter their windows, there is no way this car is street legal out of the box--I love it. Personally, I also love that it doesn't really have an infotainment system, I click the power button once to display the jag logo and leave it that way. You are exactly right that its hard to see curbs. Mine has been perfect too, and I have a Racechip GTS Black and a smaller pulley for 695 HP dynos. I have owned a lot of sportscars and nothing compares to the F-Type. It blows EVERYTHING away at the local quarter mile track while being incredibly luxurious and comfortable. 29 mpg in 8th. Phenomenal.
Man I am SO jealous! I thought the exact same thing -- saw the car when Jeremy drove it on Top Gear and absolutely fell in love. I've been lucky enough to drive it a couple of times, but I don't own one (yet). It is my absolute dream car, I hope I can own one some day!

Nice review! Getting one in a few months - notice you have unspaced number plates on the car, have you ever been stopped by the police about this? Was thinking of doing the same
Thanks for this, I've had a battle between head, (sensible) and heart, (just go for it). so consequently have been going round and round trying to find something that fits both catagories. Oh and factor in the fact that I go back and forth to Italy a lot. With the price of these very reasonable nowadays I have decided to have one of these and a little economical diesel Alfa. Happy days...

That British racing green is an awesome color!
Great video. Looking at a used F Type currently.
What options would you say are crucial?
Nice review! Getting one in a few months - notice you have unspaced number plates on the car, have you ever been stopped by the police about this? Was thinking of doing the same
Thanks for this, I've had a battle between head, (sensible) and heart, (just go for it). so consequently have been going round and round trying to find something that fits both catagories. Oh and factor in the fact that I go back and forth to Italy a lot. With the price of these very reasonable nowadays I have decided to have one of these and a little economical diesel Alfa.
Happy days...
Love the shades Oli! You have a link for those? Thanks!
ame here saw JC and then bought it within a day! on my second one and loving it
Great review pal, do you still have the jag? If so are you still as pleased 2 years down the road?
The F Type-S is the version to get. I personally like the coupe better for everyday driving. Your options are what I would also prefer. Though because I get snowy winters and leaf covered wet roads in the fall I want the all wheel drive Type V6 S model in a coupe.
You wouldnt believe how many times the AWD system has saved me, just from driving into a small puddle around the corner
you need the sport seats, however. Mandatory. They are comfortable and look way better.
Beautiful color you mentioned that you wish you had a different color what color would that be? I have the exact same car but silver.
I would probably go for orange or red. Though I do like purple too...
@@Oliur You can simply wrap your car in orange or red.
Excellent video. Really in depth and covers all points people want to hear about.
Didnt get what year your Jag was tho.
