I owed a V6S from 2013 to 2017, loved the car, just fantastic, however, what I did not like was how other people treated me while driving it, I had verbal abuse from people on the sidewalk while just sitting in traffic, people would not give me any room on very narrow roads, as they know you would yield, Envy is a horrible thing and sadly there are a lot of people who suffer from it. I loved the sound and I loved the way it drove, now I have a Range Rover Sport instead, as a result all the problems seem to have gone away, especially the narrow road problems.

What a highly informative and practical review! One commentator appears surprised that Jaguar has ceased to be a “car for old men”. In fact, the brand always had a diverse audience. Sir William Lyons - its founder - realised to be profitable this was vital. In the 1950s and 1960s the XK 120s, 140s,150s, and originally the E Types were largely younger peoples’ cars. The current management has happily realised that. The success of the F type says it all. I look forward to more reviews from Oliur. Thanks for posting.

Pins you back in the seat and turns heads because so few are on the road and people want to know, “what’s THAT fine car?” Thank you, Jaguar, for producing style, class, power, and value for such an incredible car. I was thinking about getting a remap which possibly would take it to 418hp but agree with you now 380 is plenty. Seems that every BMW or Audi driver wants to take you on. I just laugh and say ‘crack on’. Some may have better performance but they look so bland to me. F type has the better looks and heritage.

Having been a crash investigator for the IIHS for 10 years, I am shocked The Institute is not fervently against touch screens. In a day when someone can get ticketed and severely fined for using a phone while driving, it is absurd that hunting and pecking various built-in touch screens is allowable.

having previously owned a jag XE AWD, i can say that the handling was spot on with that car, as the awd system was taken out the f-ype. Also the infotainment system was awful, especially when the incontol apps on my phone stopped supporting spotify. At that time there was no aftermarket device as so much of the cars controls were built in. unless its the pro version of the head unit, this will feel quite dated, or outdated as time goes on

I have a V8 RWD convertible and completely agree the convertible is a must so you are completely immersed in the gorgeous harmonies--the car fills the landscape around you with rousing exotic crescendos that shocks Ferraris and Lambos wanting to race--bad idea on their part--the Jag just obliterates them and they sound like shit by comparison. The insane volume and viciousness of aggressive revs will flatten any competitors tires and shatter their windows, there is no way this car is street legal out of the box--I love it. Personally, I also love that it doesn't really have an infotainment system, I click the power button once to display the jag logo and leave it that way. You are exactly right that its hard to see curbs. Mine has been perfect too, and I have a Racechip GTS Black and a smaller pulley for 695 HP dynos. I have owned a lot of sportscars and nothing compares to the F-Type. It blows EVERYTHING away at the local quarter mile track while being incredibly luxurious and comfortable. 29 mpg in 8th. Phenomenal.

Can I ask how much this car cost or how much it is to maintain cuz eventually I want to get this car for the same reason you’ve bought it. Just for a fun weekend/summer car

I love my S coupe. Black over dark brown leather and sport seats. Exterior blacked out. I like stiff seats for long distances. I once had an Oldsmobile 98 with BarcaLounger seats that became horrid after a couple of hours. I’ve had some issues, but it’s kind of like your girlfriend catching a cold.

Nice review. I think this will be mine next after XF. About the touch screen thing - you right, but on other hands - driving Jag is always about dring Jag - not giving a shit about little things. Cheers

How did you black everything out? Did you have it all professionally painted and touched up or did you just plasti dip it yourself? Looks absolutely beautiful

Oliur, I know you gave this car up, but do you remember what shade of black you used to paint the chrome exterior pieces? Probably going to get this same car myself soon, and yours looked great.

One thing close to this is the mustang Shelby.
In terms of exhaust of course

      N. Amauri Cristiano F type R is closer, mustang is a V8 so you sorta have to compare that to another V8

Recently test drove a f type r. You’re correct on the infotainment system. Deal killer for me. Will keep my bmw f13 m6 for a bit longer.

    • @Anonymous-qj3ry
      @Anonymous-qj3ry 3 года назад

Late reply, but you don't buy these cars for the infotainment honestly. I just don't feel like that should be a deal breaker. To each their own nonetheless

It's not the best, actually it's very poor, however a) you don't buy one for the sound system, sat nav is fine, b) You can get the sound system fixed, ok I accept it should be much better out of the tin.

I have one, the only thing I would say is tune it and it becomes a much better car. It lacks power on the low end. The tune fixes that.

Thanks for this, I've had a battle between head, (sensible) and heart, (just go for it). so consequently have been going round and round trying to find something that fits both catagories. Oh and factor in the fact that I go back and forth to Italy a lot. With the price of these very reasonable nowadays I have decided to have one of these and a little economical diesel Alfa.
    Happy days...

The F Type-S is the version to get. I personally like the coupe better for everyday driving. Your options are what I would also prefer. Though because I get snowy winters and leaf covered wet roads in the fall I want the all wheel drive Type V6 S model in a coupe.
