- Originally written for guitar, this is my arrangement for piano of this well-known piece by Tarrega. The piano used here is a Grand Square by Collard & Collard dating from a time shortly after Clementi's death in 1832 when the firm changed its name (the inscription on the front reads "late Clementi, Collard & Collard" in recognition of this fact).
Why do I choose this piano for this particular piece? 'The Repeater Action' is excellent and the sound quality of the istrument suits the music - or so I think!
I absolutely agree about using this piano for this piece. It is a warm instrument. The treble and bass have different qualities that complement very well. The sound is beautifully clear. Lovely performance, too.
Thank you, Jonathan - much appreciated!
Grande y brillante
A beautiful piece of music beautifully played, thank you.
and thank you - for the compliment.
Hermoso!!!
Thank you! Much appreciated.
Beautiful instrument and flawless rendition. Very enjoyable interpretation. I like your piano so much!!! I have an upright Steinway but this instrument has blown my mind.
wonderful music and excellent playing on a fine instrument
Esta musica do Tarrega é lindíssima. O arranjo para piano ficou excelente. O desempenho do pianista é fantástico. Bravo!...
Very nice tremolo.
Good arrange for piano.
Beautiful. Well done 👏
Thank you! 😊
So enjoyable! Just as good as the guitar version.
EXCELENTE EJECUCION USTED LOGRO EJECUTAR EN PIANO LO QUE YA ES MUY DIFICIL HACERLO CON LA GUITARRA DE NUEVO MI ADMIRACION FELICITACIONESSSSSSSSSSSSSS
A Rare Talent to use piano instead of guitar . Thanks for the opportunity.
Wow! Great job. Beautiful. The octave tremolo works!
BRAVO!!!
I have an idenitcal piano and agree totally with the performer that the sound suits the piece. Quite interesting!
Bravissimo!!! ❤👏👏🔝🤝🤝
Compliments! I have a very similar Erard London piano, presumably from 1860. The sound is very similar. Where can I find this transcript of yours from Tarrega? Thank you!
Thank you - compliment much appreciated! A copy is available here: www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/recuerdos-de-la-alhambra-digital-sheet-music/20705670
@@MrBasilr Thank you! Unfortunately I bought scores from Sheetmusicplus and they got somewhat damaged.
@@Carneade1956 Did you have a problem with the download on this, or was there some other issue?
I love this!!! The right hand is incredible. That b flat gives me goosebumps every time. A very impressive performance and arrangement.
what a lovely touch:-) though i would expect no less.
Excellent!
Bravo, it makes sense!
Obviously You are master. I can see Very old piano with minimal hammer effect, similar to claviola . Another way, you can try with Modern Electric Pianos with new and exaggerated Hammer-damper effect.
very enjoyable!
Wow, this is played a la Liz with those escape notes on the right hand. Is it me? But the piano sounds like it is tuned half step lower from concert A. Nice contrast with the melody played an octave lower.
Hi Eddy, you are right, it's not your ears; the piano is tuned a semitone down out of dereference to its age - the tension had distorted the frame over the years so it seemed a sensible choice.
@@MrBasilr Hi there, is that a Collard & Collard piano. I was just checking the wood carving and logo, which is hard to make out. If it is, that's an antique. Sounds great for its age. Can't imagine a piano that old staying tuned. Wooden or metal harp? Still ivory keys?
@@eddygonzalez2328 Hi Eddy; forgive the delay. Yes that is a Collard & Collard. It's a bit difficult to date it, as records were destroyed, but I would say it was made in the mid-1830s, judging from the name plaque which specifically states: 'Late Clementi Collard & Collard' .. and we know Clementi died in 1832. It has a wooden frame, aside from a metal hitchpin plate on the right hand side. It took quite a bit of restoration to get it playing but stays in tune better than you might think. Still, doing your own tuning does save a LOT in tuners' fees! The action is Collard's own and is a modified version of the standard English square action of the time, if any of that interests you! - sorry, getting carried away - and yes, the keys are of ivory and the casework is flamed mahogany.
@@MrBasilr Yes, I bet it's an expensive tuning job. Although it might be a little later than 1830, I'm not sure that any tuner would know how to work his way around the type of single action mechanism of the time. Obviously the knee lever had already been replace with metal pedals as well as other things like the the harp. It is obviously quite well maintained. I said later than 1830 since it sounds like the strings had already been replace with multiple strings per key for balance. Although I don't remember when that happened. Just guessing. Keep taking good care of it.
Great arrangement, good job.
nice adaptation and a great sound for this piece
Great! The best version on RUclips!
Is there sheet music available?
nice - unusual piano as well
Crazy octaves!!! Amazing
Ahw...beautyfull ❤
0:36 - where is the famous low F??? It is the most emotional place in the whole piece...
Great

Hi Basil, Wonderful arrangement, bravo, could you send me the sheet music please? bagdanym@yahoo.com
Indah Karya nya .
Bagus lagu nya . Tapi masih Bagus kalau di mainkan pakai Guitar . Karna kedengaran labih Romantic .
I sent you an email at your private adress. Hopefully it is not stored in the spam-folder and deleted. The sender is "pitbull-golf".
Greetings from Cologne,

Lovely performance but the guitar version is better in my opinion.
