It speaks so many volumes that it's deafening because the potential hes referring to is her potential to be molded and groomed into his perfect wife, her potential to be obedient and his potential to isolate and control her through financial abuse.

I suspect that part of his problem is that he looks down on people that don't have the same education. I don't want to date someone who looks down on other people and I have a master's degree. I am also a very handy person, and it's an entirely different skill-set that has its own value.

The thing is, these people think that just because the drawing can't react or care, also means real people can't react or care.
There are real people out there who are survivors of SA whose trauma can be brought up again due to these "drawings". Real people who have panic attacks and go to real hospitals because of these "drawings".
There are people who see these "drawings" and think this is completely normal and acceptable who end up getting SA'd and will never be the same again. Those "drawings" teach them that SA is completely normal, which is incredibly dangerous.
There are people who see these "drawings" and become so obsessed with sexualizing children that they go out into the real world to violate real children, because they can't suppress those urges with just "drawings" anymore.

If you are attracted to that, you should be concerned. Art like that can be used to feed p3d0philes or make people go down a pipleline of becoming one, especially when it's NSFW. As someone who started watching anime young and still loves it in my early 20s... LIKING LOLIS IS NOT OKAY. It's not for a lack of "being able to tell reality and art apart" and that argument is shit CUZ I DRAW AND WRITE STORIES. I differentiate. The thing I just don't grasp about the whole "it's a drawing not a child" logic: I'm an artist and I tend to plan things out very carefully when designing characters, not just because of personal pet peeves/perfectionism but because I want to make sure that the viewer's takeaway from the design is what I intended for said character. If I draw something that looks like a dog, acts like a dog, and I specifically tell you that I made a dog, then common sense says it's a fucking dog. Just because it's a fictional dog and not a real dog doesn't nullify the fact that it's a dog, literally the only difference between the two is the distinction between an imaginary character and a living being. Meaning that, drawing or not, what you're looking at is still 100% dog.
Like... Why is that so hard to understand? I can't help but imagine that at least some of the artists behind certain anime characters would probably be like "Um... No I actually meant for it to be a child tf are you on???" if confronted with this argument X'D

Y'all gone learn to respect trades people. They're good with their hands and passionate about what they do. Even if they're in it for the money, they've got a lifetime skill they can pass down. Hell, they can even help you save money and teach you some things. That, to me, is attractive AF. There's nothing wrong about college, nor is it superior to trades school. 😂 So, I have a university education and my partner is a carpenter. We've known each other since school and he is much smarter and so much more practical that absolutely all the guys I've met at university. And I really have a thing for nerdy, lanky guys. But
1) they like being the smartest person in the room a little too much
2) skill overlap - I can build a PC and analyze data and read up on some topic real fast, I don't need anyone else to do that and
3) flirting with a nerd is like flirting with a brick wall
Also my partner is emotionally intelligent and secure, can cook, has hobbies that don't require me to be around and doesn't need me to mommy him around. He could be a toilet cleaner and with this kinda skillset, I'd go for him any day.

Higher education does not automatically mean you are both smarter and more successful. Trades people often have very little education debt because their schooling doesn't take as long and the jobs pay very, very well. My dad who was a pipefitter and also had his Master's degree (that was paid for by his job), made over $80,000.

Geeze maybe minors shouldn't have jobs. Yes thats probably an unfair take, obviously it would suck to deprive them of the opportunity to get a head start on work experience and get some money for themselves. However as a worker you have this horrifically skewed power dynamic that fully grown adults struggle to stay safe in coupled with the lack of life experience of being a minor, most places not having any kind of union. If I were a parent id be wary of letting my teenager get a job, especially considering the places teens usually work are also some of the most notoriously abusive employers.

The problem with a lack of experience is that these people don't understand that if you can practise healthy fantasy with like minded adults then you can have anything and everything that you want, or that you think that you want, if only in THAT moment. You don't have to dedicate yourself or any element of your identity or life path to your extremes and the things that make you excited, but neither do you have to repress the ideas that work for you in the moment - you just have to knowingly enter a mode of fantasy and communication, of exploration and leave it there after it no longer serves you. Real darkness grows in suppression, you have to pull it into the light and see it for what it is and then put it away in a place that you choose, that you control.
