The first time I saw this and I remembered older Paul’s reaction to the song in the movie and I saw this exact moment. Manly tears just flowed. What a movie!
How did This movie not get any nominations it's acted so brilliantly. Gets me every time. I can only watch this shit like once every 5 years too sad for me lol
I remember seeing this when I was a little kid. This scene has stayed with me ever since, it resonates with me so much. No matter how ugly people can be, you cannot help but do good, because that's what you are. Even when you are tired.
The story is obviously an allegory to the Passion... but there are quite a bit of similarities you may not notice at first... The scene with Coffey healing Melinda is very similar to the group of men lowering the leper to Jesus. Delacroix and Wild Bill are like the two thieves Jesus was crucified with.. one is rebellious to the end (Wild Bill/the first thief), the other repentant (Del/the second thief). Paul's suggestion that Coffey run off echoes Peter trying to talk Jesus out of going through with the crucifixion, both are reprimanded for even suggesting it. I'm sure there's plenty more
THis is the first movie to ever make me cry. And this was the scene that broke me. To this day it's the only one that managed to do it. Well, this and the execution... Honestly the best movie I have ever seen
Michael was so great in this film. He brought me to tears during these scenes. I get sad and teary eyed even thinking about the part of him watching that movie, smiling, looking like a little kid on Xmas morning, singing along... "Heaven, you're in heaven..." Well now you are my friend, RIP.

Rest In Peace ! You will always be a part in my life since your brilliant acting in "The Green Mile"! Rest now you gently giant... :'(
I remember seeing this when I was a little kid.

One of the greatest movies as well as one of the greatest books. It is beautiful. I cried so much. I am grateful for this piece of art.
Michael was so great in this film. He brought me to tears during these scenes. I get sad and teary eyed even thinking about the part of him watching that movie, smiling, looking like a little kid on Xmas morning, singing along... "Heaven, you're in heaven..." Well now you are my friend, RIP.
