The Green Mile 1917 Skyfall American Beauty Joe Black The Shawshank Redemption Scent Of a Woman These movies along with the music are amazing, thanks Thomas Newman
For me, this music in The Green Mile and the music of Shawshank Redemption are tied for the best score in movies. I could listen to this daily and more-or-less not be bored of it. Something about this music lands right with me.
I remember reading this book years ago. I remember being convinced John Coffey would be spared, because he was ultimate good. But Stephen King was presenting us with the story of Christ, updated for the 20th century. Years ago, my mum said: "What's the point of Christ coming back, we'd only crucify him again." My mum was so very right.
@@MovieAndTVThemes And in the book there are two scenes which stand out: There was a chance to save Coffey, but Edgecome and his friends were terrified of losing their jobs during the Depression. Just like in the bible, the people were offered a chance to save Jesus and chose a criminal called Barabas instead. Edgecombe's wife actually died in a car accident years ago Coffey's execution. As he cradled her in his arms, Edgecombe sensed the presence of John nearby and pleaded with him to save his wife.... But of course, he couldn't. Because Edgecombe and his colleagues....had executed him. Along with The Stand I think this is King's best book.
I sobbed for hours at the end of this film and swore never to watch it again. I think it would break me. I have never been so moved at the injustice imposed on that wonderful character and then to know that he has died in real life. Too much to bear x
This movie in my opinion, was the most beautiful, dark, sad and touching movie I have ever seen in my entire life. This soundtrack is the deepest most haunting bittersweet soundtrack ever made period, this is as fine as art can get, nothing today could ever come close to this masterpiece. RIP Mr. Duncan.

I quite agree with you! "Quite" because in my opinion there is some other movies at its level (but very few, like 2001: A Space Odyssey (even if it's absolutely not in my favourites, although I like it anyway), Forrest Gump, The Lion King, Moana, Treasure Planet, Fantasia (another that isn't among my favorites, although I like it anyway), Wall-E, Up, Titanic, and someone else), and for me there is a movie that even surpasses it, a movie that I consider simply the best movie in the history of Cinema, even if I find it, to say the least, criminally underrated... well, this movie is Coco! A movie that talks about practically everything, the most moving, exciting, dark, stratified, magical and real at the same time and profound I've ever seen, and it also has exceptional music and an excellent rhythm, and it's a movie for everyone! In short, it's a literally perfect movie, without even a mini flaw! Look, there's not even a single movie that I don't like at all (even the weakest, indeed, some of my favourite, even if good, technically aren't Masterpieces), and The Green Mile is one of my favourite movies ever (in all, for now, there are about forty (a hundred if we count even those who are very close to us), and it's found in the highest part, very close to the summit), and one of those very few that make me come literally goose bumps, which make me cry like very few (and I also cry for nothing), and which come to me with unprecedented strength, *BUT* when I saw Coco, I tried something I had never tried before with a movie and very few times in my life, and it immediately became my favourite movie *EVER* (and I had never had one before, despite my crazy love for Animation and Cinema)... so I believe that while The Green Mile is one of the most beautiful movies in the history of Cinema (and an Absolute Masterpiece), Coco is simply *the* most beautiful movie in the history of Cinema, and, obviously, a true Absolute Masterpiece (then of course everyone has their own ideas, but I firmly believe in it) 💖
And Damon, I am sure you must already know that "The Green Mile" was written by Stephen King. This author --(ironically also called "King of Horror" ) sure knows the human heart and how to mold a great, inspirational story around that alone.

Out of Africa and Somewhere in time still are the best soundtracks I have ever heard .But indeed this here is very touching
Dieser Film ist einzigartig und hat sehr viel Bedeutung
The best movie hands down. Anybody who has watched the movie has cried at John Coffey's execution and the ending
Dieses lied widme ich mein verstorbenen opa und Oma god bless his soul i will always love you
This music is absolutely breathtaking...when I listen to it for too long(if thats even possible) I feel kinda that my troath is getting a bit choked up,then I am very high in my breathing, not really hyperventilating but more kinda out of breath. This music can be too much sometimes because it touches my soul so deep, and a human being is not always capable of dealing with it,so I only play it a few times in a long period of time.
I understand -- believe me.
Yes there are soundtracks like this one that are very heavy yet so beautiful.
Most beautiful soundtrack ever?
+peloquin
Possibly ;)
maybe
En tout cas l'une des plus profonde de l'histoire....Cette BO te fait voyager à des millions de kilomètres de l'endroit où tu es.
Yes
This or shawshank redemption. Or American beauty. Or finding nemo. Or road to perdition. Fuck it Thomas Newman is the man 😆
I love old school hip hop, biggie, 2pac, easy z and alikes. But this is special.. I have some of the most intense training sessions to this.
Thomas Newman you're a legend
I miss u mr coffey i wonder what life is like in heaven?.. the worlds worse now but still the same.Funny how you a man in a story are the only person ive felt remotely connected to in this life.❤
Awesome suite!! Great work I love it!! Thanks for posting this one!
Greatest and saddest soundtracks ever😢RIP Michael Clarke Duncan 🪦
God damn. This is the sound of heaven
There may will never be anything like this anymore.. this is just.. yall know..
Time isn't money ,its just precious !
For all the people on death row ' time can be both a bless or a curse !!
Rest in peace Mr Michael Clarke Duncan. You be always in our minds, as long we watch you're Flicker films .
This music is more powerful without the images so make your own !
Regards Kenneth John
"That's how it is everyday...all over the world."
Que maravilla. Creo con esta música que la humanidad saldrá adelante.
Grande film con una colonna sonora eccelsa!
Grazie per la splendida condivisione! :)
I've just re read the book....and astonishingly the book is superb...but the film actually better. It adds to it.
Thomas Newman & James Newton Howard...are the only two composers who create music that binds with angelic harmony with unexplainable euphoria...
This is a beautiful beautiful soundtrack. For those of you who are PC game lovers, this particular track has a certain feel of Jeremy Soule and Skyrim/Elder Scrolls to it 0 not all the time but at certain parts. Makes it even more wonderful to listen to. The guy who wrote this (Thomas Newman) I discovered has done loads of movie scores and they are really worth listening to if you think this one is good..
4:18 That’s on another scale of beautiful music
. . . my Lord , it just takes so long
I had to download this score . So beautiful.
Thomas Newman ❤️
wow he was nominated for an oscar 13 times, but never won :/
That's an absolute travesty
This is totally unfair, Thomas Newman is a genius, he deserves an Oscar.
He will
No shit?
@@VijaySiva34 shawshank redepmtion is the best ost he has made
He killed them with their love. That's how it is everyday all over the world!
Beauty transformed into sounds.
This soundtrack gives me hope when I dont otherwise have any
Hang in there buddy..and absorb all the serenity this piece gives..I hope you find happiness wherever you are.
Sucks how they don’t make good movies like this anymore
This track brings emotions to the horizon that only life can produce
"Happiness is only real when shared"
That's not The Green Mile. It's from Into The Wild. A quote from Chris McCandless
Surely the Best what has been ever performed!
Der wohl beste Film der jemals auf die Leinwand gekommen ist!
Agent Sambora...one of the best films I ever saw!
I bought the Booklets back in the Days as the Story appeared..was so captured by it....then the Movie was released and of course it couldnt catch all the Story but it did in the most beautiful Way...Great Movie, Great Actors, Great Score...
When I was young and innocent 😢 my life has turned upside down 😮
