My parents live in the Daintree, specifically Cape tribulation. My father works for "Rainforest rescue" and through him I was able to volunteer with about 300 other amazing humans, in planting over 3000 different species of trees ♥️🌿. I can't tell you how much it meant to me to be a part of give back to our mother earth 🙏♥️🌿. I'm currently building and putting everything I have into my 1982 VW and once she's ready I'll be making my way up there again to live and plant trees for the rest of my life ☺️🌿. The Daintree is a place everyone should experience and pay respect to. Thank you for this beautiful documentary 🙏
Thank you for the kind feedback and taking the time to share your story. I watched a RUclips video on the work that Rainforest Rescue is doing up there. Your Father and all others involved are to be congratulated for the wonderful work they are doing in rehabilitating the rainforest. Thank you again for the feedback, stay safe, cheers Phil
My dear loyal followers, I am excited to bring our very first Documentary to the screen this Sunday. With a running time of 16:30 minutes and narrated by the very talented British voiceover artist Steve Chambers we look forward to introducing you to the natural wonders of the Daintree. A first for this channel, and hopefully not the last, I am keen to hear if you would like to see more content like this from us. Cheers Phil
The best thing about this doco is the length is just right. It provides just enough enticement that if you are interested you will explore more yourself. Great job.
Thank you, that's really great feedback. My subsequent Docos run to around 30 mins now but their subject matter is geographically much broader. Thanks for watching, cheers Phil
I’ve lived around the Daintree for a couple of decades.... the length of this video doesn’t even scratch the dust off the surface of what there is to see and experience here. What it doesn’t tell you is that the tourism and hospitality industry up here runs on the homeless workers that can’t find long term rentals that don’t require tenants to have two jobs to be able to pay rent and eat etc... generally the industry runs on homeless Australians and itinerant foreigners... yeah, there’s working people with their own homes and people renting units, houses etc, but without the homeless and itinerant all of the resorts, restaurants and tour companies would be permanently understaffed or in risk of closing...
Brilliant as always, Phil. Good enough to be on TV. I look forward to more content like this. The voice-overs from Steve Chambers were great, and so was your videography. Also, I like the fact that the video was timestamped. You've obviously put a lot of work into this, and it shows.
Thanks for the feedback on this @aussiemedia1959 much appreciated. This is something I've been wanting to do for years and I finally got around to it. Its potentially a direction I am wanting to take this channel but want to see if we get an audience for it. Yes a lot of work in videos like this much more than usual. I searched many voiceover artists and found that Steve really hit the mark of what I was looking for. I'm very pleased with how the whole thing came together. Thanks again for your loyalty to our channel and taking the time to leave some feedback. Stay safe, cheers Phil
Phil, this is a masterpiece. This is definitely up there with David attenborough documentaries, however, this has a different feel in a good way. If this was independently financed by you, imagine what you're capable of. Great job!
I live just a few hours from Daintree. Back in the 80s I lived in a tent by a creek there for a few months. I'm just on my way there now, realising how crazy it is to live so close and not spend more time there! This doco has raised my excitement at crossing the river tomorrow. It's actually not a very large area, a little pocket of magic. Just over the back of the hills to the west you're immediately in dry savannah. I hope some of you lovelies from further away can come here sometime, but beware of thinking you can explore easily. There has been a clearing around the edges but the main forest is still virtually impenetrable, so thick. NOT a place to think you can just wander around. A few metres from the road/track and you will get very lost. So beautiful photography the birds etc like this is really impressive even to us locals :) I'm camped by the beach just south of the river tonight. And drat, the beach looks so inviting but there's deadly stingers and crocs so it's just a walk to enjoy the breeze, not the sea.. Ah well. The ferns in the trees make up for it :)
Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed your adventure up in the Daintree. I look forward to getting back there again when I can too. Stay safe, cheers Phil
Excellent video!!! Would love to see more of Australia. I'm now a subscriber. Very professional. I just assumed it was a team effort until I saw the filmmakers comments. Very impressive!
Thank you, you are very kind. I hope you enjoy many videos from this channel. Documentaries are a new direction for this channel and seem to be well received from my audience so more to come :). Stay safe and thanks for watching, cheers Phil
Interesting. I've heard recent research suggests that the 'horn' of the Cassowary assists the bird to hear the low. guttural calls that they make. The sound can be muffled by the thick forest and it is theorised that the horn helps them to 'hear' the vibrations.
Very interesting and enticing documentary. I would definitely like to visit the Daintree Rainforest. This area of Australia has always seemed like the most beautiful to me. And the amazing flora and fauna is fantastic. The tree kangaroos are so adorable, and the cassowary birds remind me of a cross between an African Guinea fowl, an American turkey, and a prehistoric dinosaur bird. They are so intriguing.
Thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to leave some feedback. This was my first ever narrated documentary and its so wonderful to hear when viewers found it interesting, so thank you. Yes, a remarkable array of wildlife up in the Daintree, well worth a visit if you get the opportunity. Stay safe, cheers Phil

The animal and plant species you featured were so interesting - I’d never heard of some of them before and have googled them to learn more. 😊 Only recently discovered your channel; subbed and now working my way through your previous videos. Great work but could we have one that showcases the amazing living fossil & other ancient plants that this unique rainforest contains and perhaps the story they tell of flowering plant evolution? These forests are rich and have a whole tale to tell about plant evolution! Some amazing stories need to be told to the general public about these unique plants and how they tie these sumptuous forests to other ancient forests of the world. How come some families are shared with China etc!
Great suggestion Marc, I will certainly take that on board. The Daintree does have some wonderful ancient species and there is definitely a story to be told. I cant give you any idea when I might get to it but I really like your suggestion and will give this some serious thought. Thanks for the kind feedback too, stay safe mate, cheers Phil
I support Animal Sanctuaries but one of the most close to my Heart is The Daintree & Cassowary, a scheme was devised to do a buy back of the Forest to which i donate too. I Love Earth & as it is humans who destroy her, it is The HumanKIND who will save Her Sacred Spaces. I really enjoyed this mini doco, Thank You!
Thanks for watching, yes we have lost far too much of these ancient forests, there is some great work being done up in the Daintree to regenerate some areas of rainforest that has been lost. I'm glad you enjoyed my first little documentary. Stay safe, cheers Phil

I was very fortunate to work & live in the Daintree, its where I first encountered Fire flies there beauty lasting 1 night only, there the devastation Man has on the fragile Reef, Ocean and Beaches as this is the main dumping ground for Cargo Ship waste, the affect Man has by just driving into & around the fragile forest killing swathes of forest by polluting vehicles emissions, by Man swimming in the pools polluting the water leaving films of multicoloured petrol chemical based products like sunscreen, hair and body products on the surface, rocks, edges...everywhere a heavy footprint was and is left be mindful of how you visit because its leaving a tragic legacy that can't be undone
Thanks for watching Robyn, yes we must all take responsibility for protecting the wilderness areas that remain and learn to tread much more lightly on our very fragile little blue planet. Stay safe, cheers Phil
Thanks for the kind feedback Edward, much appreciated mate and so happy you enjoyed our film. I'm planning to produce more of these in the future so stay tuned. Stay safe, cheers Phil
One factual error I noticed: the Boyd's forest dragon isn't from the same family as iguanas. It belongs to the agamid family, of which Australia has many species. Iguanas are a separate family of lizards altogether, and ther are no kinds living in Australia.
Hi Nick, thanks for that mate, they do belong to the Agamidae family, Agamidae is a family of over 550 species of iguanian lizards called Dragons and Dragon Lizards (which includes Iguanas) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agamidae Stay safe mate, cheers Phil

Hi Saskia, thanks for the feedback. Fair point. Others have expressed similar criticism. This was my first narrated documentary and it was a steep learning curve for me. I have lowered the audio levels of my subsequent documentaries and I'm hoping to come back and remake this one some day applying eveything i have learned. Thanks for being constructive when providing feedback, i really respect that. Take care, cheers Phil.

Thanks for watching, its difficult to say. The Daintree National Park vegetation is primarily rainforest but also includes some areas of dry eucalypt forest, wetlands and mangrove forests. Sorry I cant be more definitive than that :/ Cheers Phil
Recently I viewed on 60 minutes A Queensland town with thousands of flying foxes flying over at night and living in trees of Botanical Gardens. What is causing this apparent human problem.? My Mother now 92 told me in McKay before the mosquitoes swarmed the flying Fox would hold the sky in flight Leaving from their homes on Islands in rivers . Have they no home any more ?
Sorry Kim, I cant comment on the 60 minutes program as I didn't see it. Loss of habitat is having major impacts on many of Australia's native species. We need to protect what remains and work to restore as many regions as possible to their natural state. Thanks for watching, stay safe, cheers Phil

Hi Mike, fair criticism. This was actually the first narrated documentary I ever produced. I'm a one-man-band doing everything myself (except for Steve's Narration of course) and it was a steep learning curve. I realise now that I drowned out Steve's talent with the background music on this one. Its something that I was mindful of in my later documentaries. Thanks for the constructive feedback. Best regards Phil.
The doco is superb but the sound mix is terrible. Music is way too loud and we can’t hear the commentary properly. Music should be in the background, not over the top.
Yep thanks mate, fair comment. I have received similar feedback numerous times for this, my first, documentary. It was a steep learning curve that I managed to fix with my later documentaries. Appreciate you taking the time to let me know. Cheers and thanks for watching, Phil
Great effort for a first up. I'm recommending it to members of my 4WD club. We do a lot in the outback and they'll find your docos interesting. @@IntotheWildFilms
Sad fact about the bats here in Queensland. A massive percentage of the bats a few years ago all died due to extremely hot weather which latest a week or so.

@@IntotheWildFilms I really look forward to seeing the story of these ancient plants being told at last and I hope in depth too! 🙂
@@IntotheWildFilms I have subscribed. Well done, you do a great job!.
Thank you, you are very kind. :)
Hello: extraordinary documentary, very good explained. Very good made. But the terrible threaten of the atomic war is a done. may be that war do not affect such a beautiful lands. Greetings from Colombia. In this planet there are many mad men.
Oh thank you for your kind feedback. The Daintree, like many parts of Australia is truly magnificent. Yes we must ensure we protect our planet and the wilderness areas that remain. Thanks for watching, stay safe. Cheers Phil
Watching this documentary from Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh.
Thanks for watching, cheers Phil

We really enjoyed the Premier Release of your new film Phil, so well done
Every time you produce one of these very informative films you find new ways to keep the attention of your audience
Thanks for joining in at the Premiere John, technical glitches aside, I think it went well, plenty of interaction from the live chat group :) So happy you guys enjoyed the show. Stay safe buddy, see you soon xx
Wow,so beutiful. I wish to visit! Amazing document. May i ask what is the music. It sounds to mw bit like from Alien… As i love the nature document, commentary voice,i adore the music. Can somwone please tell me what is it? Thank you🙏
Thanks for watching and for the kind feedback. Details of the musical tracks are included in the closing credits at 15:29. i hope this helps. Cheers Phil
This is magnificent for RUclips content ! Thank you...
Hi Nick, thanks for that mate, they do belong to the Agamidae family, Agamidae is a family of over 550 species of iguanian lizards called Dragons and Dragon Lizards (which includes Iguanas) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agamidae
Stay safe mate, cheers Phil
Those big circular leaf plants are incredible.
Why have i never seen them propogated for use as a house or garden plant?
Thanks for watching, apparently you can actually buy them www.bambooland.com.au/licuala-ramsayi-qld-fan-palm obviously they are only suited to tropical conditions. Cheers Phil
It's odd that Australia has a tropical rainforest but without the extensive wildlife biodiversity found in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Thanks for watching, yes Australia's wildlife has evolved differently to anywhere else on earth. Cheers Phil
Man, your work is unbelievable ! What a quality !
Thank you Adrien, you are very kind mate, glad you enjoyed the show. Stay safe mate, cheers Phil
Great video but for me the mix balance between voice and music was not pleasant for my ears. Music too loud for me. So became trying to watch
Take care, cheers Phil.
wonderful! only way too short.
Thanks Jacob, you are very kind mate, much appreciated. Stay safe buddy, cheers Phil
You know I bet if more rain forest trees like that ruin an Australian carbon would have a hard time creating global warming because well that’s what trees do
Thanks for watching, the country / world would certainly benefit from major reforestation projects.
Buying a house or land up there in next few years...can't wait to move up there, so awesome....
Thanks for watching, it really is beautiful up in tropical north Queensland. All the best, cheers Phil
I love your videos very much. Going to watch them all.
Thank you again for watching and your loyalty to our channel, you are very kind. Stay safe, cheers Phil
Very beautiful and so relaxing! Awesome job in this. Thank you!
Oh thank you, you are very kind. Cheers Phil
bumpy satinash in indonesia is jambu!!! they all have 3 variants!! the white one, the green one, and the purple one it is tasty actually for a human to eat but the white one are usually sour.🍐
Thanks for the info on the jambu, very interesting. Thanks for watching, stay safe, cheers Phil
What a great film. I used this as a study for my kids homeschooling and they are really enjoying it. Thanks so much for sharing all your creative work and passion with us.
Thanks Geoff, although not specifically made for kids I wondered whether parents or teachers may use my videos for educational purposes. That's really great to hear. Thanks for the kind feedback mate. Stay Safe, cheers Phil
Now I am very smart and know a lot about the Daintree Rainforest. Thanks to you!
Thanks again Karina, I'm so happy you found our film informative. I am currently working on a new documentary on Tasmania, I'm unsure when it will come out yet but please stay tuned over the coming months. Stay safe, cheers Phil
I lived up that way for some time. Truly a magical place.
Thanks for watching Brad, it certainly is a magical place. Stay safe buddy, cheers Phil
The tree kangaroo looks like a kangaroo that’s slowly evolving into a monkey / ape like creature.
Yes their faces are much rounder than ground based kangaroos and upper body more stocky too
Beautiful forests, but they are like a drop of water in an ocean in relation to the Amazon forests
Cerainly not as big as the Amazon but no less important, thanks for watching, stay safe, cheers Phil
I've just posted this to a Corsican friend of mine as an excellent example of what to expect when he visits 0Z for our "re-union"! Thanks for an excellent, informative & beautiful showing of 0Z!
Thank you for watching. Its always great to hear that people enjoy watching my work. I'm so glad you found it informative. Enjoy your re-union, stay safe and thanks again, cheers Phil
So beautifully filmed and narrated, the scenes and forests and waves are so nice and enjoyable...
Thanks for the kind feedback Randy much appreciated mate. Stay safe buddy, cheers Phil
Just curious, how many percent of daintree consist of tropical trees?
Thanks for watching, its difficult to say. The Daintree National Park vegetation is primarily rainforest but also includes some areas of dry eucalypt forest, wetlands and mangrove forests. Sorry I cant be more definitive than that :/
Cheers Phil
Recently I viewed on 60 minutes
A Queensland town with thousands of flying foxes flying over at night and living in trees of Botanical Gardens.
What is causing this apparent human problem.?
My Mother now 92 told me in McKay before the mosquitoes swarmed the flying Fox would hold the sky in flight
Leaving from their homes on Islands in rivers .
Simple humans have built over their habitat that's why they are having problems with wild bats! They have lost their roosting spots...
Love the video quality, such a cinematic look. Also very well narrated... Keep up the great work
Thanks Jonathon, glad you enjoyed the video, its a new direction for this channel and based on how well it is being received i am looking to do more of these. Stay safe buddy and thanks for watching, cheers Phil
That was fantastic, Phil. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to produce this masterpiece.
Cheers Buddy, yes there is a lot of work pulling these together but worth it when the audience appreciates it. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. It means a lot. Cheers Phil
Beautifully done - loved every second of it
Thanks for stopping by and watching Bob, glad you enjoyed my little passion project. Stay safe mate, cheers Phil
why must the back ground music be so over bearing? get the narrator to yell so he can be heard.
Mangrove trees protect against hurricanes ( cyclones)
Thanks for watching, cheers Phil
Just wonderful 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much 😀 you are very kind. Cheers Phil
Sad fact about the bats here in Queensland. A massive percentage of the bats a few years ago all died due to extremely hot weather which latest a week or so.
Thanks for watching. I heard about the loss of flying foxes due to extreme heat, very sad indeed. Cheers Phil
Thank you for this awesome video I have learnt a lot. We had the privilege of visiting Kuranda Skyrail over the rainforest. Just gorgeous !
Is Kuranda rainforest part of the Daintree rainforest?
Check out the Kuranda Skyrail experience in my channel if you get a chance too 😊😊
Thank you
Really hope this precious part of the world stays like this for future generations 🙏🙏
Thank you for watching and for your kind words. Kuranda is not part of the Daintree National Park but I'm pretty sure it is part of the overall Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. I will check out your video on the Skyrail. Stay safe cheers Phil
@@IntotheWildFilms thank you

I'm going here next month, but can't understand why the trip includes swimming. I don't think I want to go swimming with crocks, pythons, sharks and rays. I'm a bit scared now 😮
Plenty of croc free swimming holes. Thanks for watching, cheers Phil
This is the second original documentary by Into the Wild Films I've seen and I have to say, I really enjoy them.
