I'm Tasmanian born and raised, but living in Japan for six years and not being able to make it home for three, I have to admit I teared up watching this. I showed it to my husband (Japanese) and he was surprised just how different Tassie is to what he imagines Australia to be like, too. I'm going to have to watch his whenever I'm getting a bit homesick!
I’m Tasmanian born, (wishing I was living in Japan) - what an amazing life you must have, Stephanie! I agree with you, this is an absolutely amazing insight into the parts of Tasmania we didn’t see. The wilderness is incredible. I’m in Queensland now and very much missing it down there. ❤
My birthplace before moving to Europe 20 years ago, it can be hot there in summer up to 40c at times, the east coast is my favourite side of the island, the main things I miss are the smell of the gum trees, and the unique animal life!
I got to go on Vaca in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico. Those humpback whales also hang out here with their babies once a year. I had read a story about them before we left, never thought id see it though. The day before we were to go home, we took a "booze cruise" for an afternoon of drinking and snorkeling. Well when we got done and were heading back... A baby humpback jumped about 50M from out boat! Then all of a sudden you see all these giant mothers coming to the surface and the babies jumping around. It was amazing and i was so blessed to catch that moment of them leaving the bay! Never will forget it.
Awesome story! Mybsister kayaked a year ago and saw a ton. It is a goal of mine to get down their at that time of year now. The tourism to see whales is beneficial to get people to protect the whales and learn more about them!
To see a place like this that has certain area untouched by mankind and allowed to do what nature intended is just beautiful. Mankind is the death of all things beautiful

It’s absolutely beautiful on Tasmania. Spent a week there visiting Port Arthur, lots of caves, waterfalls, a place where they have my favorite animal Tasmanian Devil etc. I absolutely loved every second of it
Thank you. This documentary not only captures the spectacular scenery of Tasmania, it also invoked much emotion in me and a sense of actually being back there again, in Tassie’s rugged and wild wilderness... oh how I miss my beautiful island home 😔 .. one day I will return, and never leave
Australia and New Zealand are my favorite countries around the world and they’re the firsts that I want to meet in the short-mid future, Regards from Mexico Dude! Incredible video and these shots are insane!
My daughter and her friend just spent 3 weeks in Tasmania and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Both her friend’s sisters live there and they stayed with them. My daughter was blown away by the scenery especially around Freycinet and the north east. She also loves hiking and did quite a lot of hikes at Cradle Mountain and Ben Lamond. I have also been to Tasmania in 1977 although I was only 9 at the time but can still remember the remarkable scenery and landscape of this wild and rugged state. It’s a place that has been lost in time and the beaches are said to be the best in Australia especially Bay of Fires. The water so crystal clear. My daughter however did have encounters with the local wildlife - she hit a Pademelon but both the animal and her car were okay. She also hit a Turbo chook but it too got up and walked away. It’s sad the amount of roadkill there as the state is so remote and rugged. It certainly is the island state.
Thanks for sharing your stories. Tasmania is incredibly beautiful but it is heartbreaking to see so much roadkill as it is anywhere. Stay safe, and thanks for watching, cheers Phil
I accidentally stumbled upon this documentary but I'm sure glad I did. This documentary is short yet very informative. Tasmania's landscape and wildlife is unique indeed.
Tasmania you have blown my mind. what a beauty you are. I am totally astonished by the nature of Tasmania. moreover, how Mr. Steve describes Tasmania is like ice on the cake.

What extraordinary footage and imagery! Absolutely love it. I’m from California and Illinois, USA. Hope to travel to this place some day. Cheers and may God bless you all.
Thank you so much you are very kind. I am grateful for your generosity. So happy you enjoyed my documentary, Tassie is a beautiful place, I hope you have the opportunity to visit us here in Australia some day. Stay safe and thanks again, cheers Phil
Tasmania is absolutely amazing, been living here about 4.5 years now. Recently did a trip to Queenstown.... just, wow! What a view and unique place, you have to be there and take the drive to take in the whole experience.
I've been all around the world. My time in Oz was great. But my trip to Taz was the highlight. Driving down to Hobart and climbing down into wineglass bay was something I will always remember and cherish. Such a beautiful pristine wilderness. Hopefully you can keep the loggers at bay and not make the same mistakes as we have in Canada. Clear cutting has ruined so much of our natural beauty. I live in Nova Scotia now and while it is another beautiful island I found the remoteness of Tasmania one of it's blessings. Also unbelievable that most Aussies have never even been there (might be a good thing). Great drone shots by the way.
Tasmania and Newfoundland. Two islands every local knows about, but very few visit. I live in Canada and have yet to visit Newfie, however, I stayed in Tassie for a few months. It’s a beautiful and varied island and I loved the sense of humour “Bust-Me-Gut”:Hill”. But didn’t appreciate the unexpected encounters with Huntsmen (spiders) and a few other peskies! Thank you for this very interesting film and the memories it has brought back. 🥇🌹🇨🇦
I’m Australian and have never been to Tassie but have always wanted to visit. This is such a beautiful film and makes me want to visit tassie even more!
Sometimes is hard to put into words and explain family and friends how beautiful this places is, but this video captured amazing landscapes and unique species that make me feel so proud of this gem call Tasmania.
I absolutely loved this video. I live in Tasmania (born and raised) and I was in awe seeing some of my home state I've never seen before. It was also fun learning some things I didn't know. Great job!!

Stunning documentary capturing some of the very best Tasmania has to offer. Having been raised in Tasmania, I think how much you appreciate the island is down to where you live, with whom you associate, and how you spend your time. It is not automatically a depression-free island of joy. But it can be one of the most wonderful places on earth and certainly one of the most beautiful. My personal favorite (not to diminish the rest) is the alpine region. One of my favorite memories is spending a week there with family, completely isolated from the worries of the world: playing games, reading, relaxing, and feeling like part of the Fellowship from The Lord of the Rings when walking and climbing my way up Cradle Mountain with my father. Mystical and fantasy-like are words I don't often attribute to nature, but I certainly would there. I don't live there anymore, but if I could give my past self one piece of advice, it would be to have gone and enjoyed the many beauties the island has to offer with friends and family more often.
Thank you for sharing your story, I enjoyed reading that. Yes there is something about the wilderness, I call it elixir for the soul. I look forward to getting back there and exploring more of Australia's other wilderness regions in the future. Stay safe, cheers and thanks for watching. Phil

Thanks for sharing your story. I remember watching similar shows at the Audio Visual room at our school. Yes indeed a treat, anything was better than chalk and talk. Thanks for watching, stay safe, cheers Phil
Thank you so much for this documentary it has reinforced my belief that Tasmania is one of the last true wilderness areas of Australia, it has left me hankering to go back, I always wanted to go and finally got my chance after my wife passed away in 2011, I initially only intended to stay only around 6 weeks but kept extending my stay and ended up staying over 2 years and travelled over most of the island in my camper and would still be there if my son had not been diagnosed with a brain tumor and I returned to the mainland (the big island) to be with him, would love to go back. Again, thank you for this well produced doco. I have subscribed to this Chanel and will be coming back!!!
Thank you so much for watching Roy. Tassie certainly is one of our last true wilderness areas. Thank you for sharing your stories, I'm sorry to hear of your loss and other family difficulties. I lived in Tasmânia for a over a year, many years ago. I have travelled much but never found anywhere as magical, unique as Tasmânia. It stayed with me spoke to me and revealed so much in me. I'd like my last breath to be there. A kind of coming home.... Australia is truly the lucky country.
I think you are right Jimmy, we are indeed a very lucky country in many ways. Thanks for watching mate, stay safe, cheers Phil

I bicycled around Tasmania in the 1980s. Spectacular scenery.
Nice, yes it certainly is, thanks for watching, cheers Phil
The document reinforces my desire to revisit Tasmania. I (from Thailand) did a five day road trip with my wife and daughter in December 2019 and managed to see only a few highlights. My son is now waiting for a Visa to study in Hobart. Another chance for me to see more of Tasmania.
Thank you for watching. I hope it wont be too long before you have the opportunity to visit again. :) Stay safe, cheers Phil
Outstanding docu❤
Thank you Jane you are very kind, your feedback is much appreciated. Stay safe, cheers Phil

Tasmania is absolutely amazing, been living here about 4.5 years now. Recently did a trip to Queenstown.... just, wow! What a view and unique place, you have to be there and take the drive to take in the whole experience.
amazing as always

Thanks Jon, you are very kind mate. Cheers Phil
Hi Steve, thanks for watching and sharing your memories of Tassie. I hope we can protect what remains. Stay safe mate, cheers Phil.

Truly a stunning documentary....I keep coming back to it as it gives a glimpse of a world untouched and seemly unlike any other. Beautiful Tassie.
Thank you, you are very kind. So happy you enjoyed this little trip around Australia's wilderness island. Stay safe, cheers Phil
Phil

Reminds of being at primary school we used to get to watch the occasional documentary in England on a TV that was on really high legs with little coaster wheels to move it around that was 1976 I was 8yrs old.
It was considered a special treat. 🙂
For me I always find peace and solace when I'm out in the wilderness. I'm currently filming up in the Greater Blue Mountains area, another great wilderness once you get away from the busy touristy spots. Have seen and filmed some wonderful sights. I hope to share them with my subscribers later this year. Stay safe Roy, thanks again for taking the time to leave a comment. Cheers Phil
