As an American, I am not informed about Canadian rights, but I guarantee you, no police are setting foot inside my house without a warrant. And I was a state law enforcement officer for 34 years.

@@theguywithbeardgunsandgear And its a globalist goal too.. note how it's not just Canada they are attacking firearm ownership in the US as well as all of the colonies at the same time.
Same happened to me because my son was talking about hunting at school. They wanted him to talk with a counselor, therapist, have a school resource officer check my firearms to make sure they are all locked up. Then the therapist made a recommendation that he attend weekly counseling. We live in the country and the resource officer told me the way we live is abnormal because we are outdoors people. I pulled him out of school and homeschooled him for the rest of the year.

Canada needs a First Amendment, Second Amendment, Fourth Amendment, and Fifth Amendment. Rule one in America: Never answer questions because police will only try to use your answers to violate your rights.
You know what you have to do is vote in people willing to make change. Easier said than done but the only other way is violence which is why they are scared of guns. They know they are screwing the people over, otherwise an armed public is a good thing. Less policing needed because the public can defend themselves and more money for the les fortunate so not so many will have to resort to crime. But when you have a backwards system predicated on corruption you can see why this is not the case.
So what you are saying is Canada should become part of America? Until the 20% population centers stop being able to control the 80% of the country (both US and Canada) the rules will continue to be made by the ignorant minority. Most people live in cities because they would never be able to provide for themselves or survive without everything being done for them.
Rule #1: NEVER EVER talk to the police Rule #2: Only speak to them through a closed door long enough to tell them to get off your property IMMEDIATELY and NEVER EVER invite them into the house nor leave the door ajar so they can see inside. This whole interrogation and abuse of power is infuriating!
If they had enough evidence, they would send the SWAT team. In 2024 in Canada, the police are not your friend. I hope that changes soon, I miss community policing and chatting and joking around with officers. More importantly, we had their backs. It's not nice being a law abiding citizen and not feeling safe. We're honestly looking at homes in Texas. I Love this country and until about 5 years ago, I would have given my life to defend it. Now, I'm questioning if I'm at risk if I stay. Our ancestors are rolling in their Graves. This country is a disgrace.
They no longer need a warrant with the new "red flag" laws. Only probable cause, I.E anyone can accuse you of being a threat or danger to yourself, which is probable cause to search your home. Then you are guilty until proven innocent, and must pay legal fees to defend your rights and property.

Rule number 1 when speaking to "law enforcement": Don't ever speak to them. They are not there to help you. If they don't have a warrant, don't say a thing.
Does that apply in Canada as well? I don't know what rights the government there recognizes. They clearly don't recognize the right to self defense, the right to bear arms, or the right to free speech so I doubt they recognize the right to be free from searches and seizures.
Total fishing expedition. You handled it well with the one caveat of I wouldn’t have answered any questions. Certainly if you had let them in “because I have nothing to hide”, they would have “found” something- anything- real or imagined and seized every firearm related item as well as searched the entire property and seized anything that took their fancy. The government of canada has declared that firearms owners are their enemy and the police have allied themselves with the government. Never trust either, never comply.
Ya I agree - wouldn't even let them in the house. I have set my place up so I can talk to police without unlocking or opening the door. Police are not your friends
I don't know Canadian law, and with all due respect, I believe you told them far too much. Don't let them in, don't talk, and don't even answer the damn door!
@@viddyoRefusing to answer is immediate grounds for a rushed warrant in Canada, they'll typically have one within 5 minutes because they write and have them approved before going fishing like this. He did everything right to keep them at bay in Canada.
Fishing trip, not phishing. Phishing is when someone sends you an email pretending to be a legitimate business trying to steal your login credentials sop they can gain access to your accounts, usually bank, work, brokerage, social media, things like that.
They weren't as ignorant about firearms as you think. They were fishing for probable cause to enter, those stupid questions are designed to get you to slip up and give them an excuse to enter. Way too many questions answered, fumbling just one answer or getting confused about one question is all they needed to have the excuse to enter.
99% of the time they don’t have a clue what they’re talking about or looking at mares leg is a good example. It is classified as a rifle and they think it’s restricted.
exactly. so infuriating that the police have obviously been trained in how to trip up a law abiding gun owner to verbally say some shit that then makes the officers able to disregard their rights and basically do whatever the hell they want w/o a warrant, investigation etc etc. A lot of these fucking boneheads shouldn't even have badges let alone be the ones deciding who does and doesn't have rights.
I took my oldest child to the Dr for a physical to play high school sports (in MN) last summer. The nurse gave her a form to fill out on her own and one for me to fill out. I read over the form from my daughter (she was 14 at the time) and there were questions about firearms in the house and are they secured. I crossed them off and wrote "none of your business." It's getting scary.

Here from Runkle's channel to support you as a gun owner. I made a mistake about 20-25 years ago and went rabbit hunting and left my gun to dry before putting it in my metal gun cabinet. I was decorating the x-mas tree with my first daughter who was about 4 at the time. The RCMP showed up at the door and was asking to come in and I said ya, first thing they said was "we can take that firearm as it's not secure" as it was in plain sight. My bad for that. They was there for a totally different matter but firearm's in the open 20-25 years ago was almost normal back then, definitely not now, keep em locked up at all times. Good video, and info, We all as gun owners need to know our rights.
Wow, that could have gone really bad. Loved Runkles video, and the support has been amazing. We have to be very careful and keep them locked up. Feel free to watch as many of my videos as you like😁 every bit helps.
You need to get rid of the laws they passed about gun control. The libtards are hard at work in the US to take away our gun rights. It's a constant battle but one worth fighting for. Once these laws are passed it's very difficult to get rid of them. Hence Canadian law!!! 😮😮

@@theguywithbeardgunsandgear This happened to me a few months ago in Alberta. I had left my rifle out (in a secure room) while I was performing repairs and I left the province for work. Later that week I received a call from a private number (which I ignored) and then received a text saying it was the city police asking pointed questions regarding firearms. I immediately called them back and could gauge the severity of the situation - based on the conversation, they had eyes on my residence from multiple angles and mentioned details about my truck (meaning they were in my parkade). Based on how tense everyone was, I told them to just go into my unit so that no one would get hurt (probably yes they needed a warranty and I'm sure the credibility of the complaint was questionable). After they had gone in and checked everything out, the responding police gave me a callback and we had a great conversation about current firearms law and the state of affairs in Canada as they were all fellow enthusiasts (I suspect the responding officers are all ERT type guys so of course they're into that). They also gave me a very good indication about who made the complaint (a Botox clinic across the street LOL). A few days go by, and I wake up from a nap on my couch, I get up and look out the window and see that 3-4 employees of this clinic are standing up to their window recording me with their mobile phones and I was absolutely stunned (standing in my underwear looking like a moron). I immediately call the police that initially responded (I'm thinking this has to be voyeurism or something). Then find the Registered Nurses on their website who work at that clinic and report them to their professional association as this was activity that they were conducting at their place of business as "professionals." The initial responding police let me know it was a grey area with voyeurism and proving intent etc. but I could tell they were concerned and let me know that they would do what they could. Now, I don't know what the police said to these folks in the clinic but they put THE FEAR OF GOD into them - they have not cracked their blinds open in months and they have a wonderful view (I do feel kinda bad now). Anyways - yeah they probably didn't have grounds to go into my home but I still think it was the right thing to do for these folks. This is not true of all law enforcement, but I do think these responding officers had good intentions and they were not trying to violate my rights, they were scared (who wouldn't be based - imagine the elaborate doom and gloom story they received from the Botox Clinic) and thought they had a "Las Vegas Shooter" incident unfolding. They ended up being cool humans and seriously had my back and went way over and above with all the subsequent issues that I had with this neighbour. It's rough but that's the state of affairs in Canada! Take your friends shooting and have fun! They'll go to a PAL course, feel comfortable and take their friends shooting and we can get more folks into the sport to change the stigma. PAL numbers are at an all-time high in Canada and that's an encouraging thought!
The communist capital of Canada is the neighborhood known as "Toronto-Danforth". You can't serve on Toronto City Council without first being a card-carrying-commie. Just look at how the NDP is trying to destroy the capitalist real estate market with their taxation. The NDP is the problem. The NDP is why the Liberal spending went from "out of control" to "waaaay out of control". Canada by now should have learned what Alberta took 40 years to do - get relatively debt free and see but one NDP influenced administration demonstrate why you can't let the NDP agenda get executed in any way whatsoever. This last minority government shows a small portion of what the NDP is capable of. In theory the Liberals shouldn't be electable for a decade but that's unlikely with the mainstream media backing them. PERSON does not mean man or woman or people it is not the plural form, all you have to do is look it up its that easy. google where the word person came from and google legal definition of person in canada. Its that simple. Person came from the latin word persona meaning actor character false face. Etymology. From Middle English persoun, personne et al., from Anglo-Norman parsone, persoun et al. The word person comes directly from the Latin word persona and according to law insider, black’s law dictionary, Merriam-Webster Dictionary, Education Center 2000, Etymology and Government of Canada, a person or persona, is a character, actor, human being, individual, male or female, body corporate, corporation, company, partnership, syndicate and trust, Spooner v. Thank you so much for sharing brother! You handled that like a Maverick! I happen to be in Federal Law enforcement in the US and work the border closely with RCMP. Sometimes it slips my mind how we have the 2nd amendment where Canadians don't. Your lifestyle sounds a lot like mine and many others in upstate NY. These Canadian Officers sound like they were having to go through the motions of what was ordered upon them, mixed with a bit of unfamiliarity on their part of the lifestyle and mindset of a responsible gun owner. Many of these uneducated, unfamiliar of responsible gun ownership people are living somewhere in a fantasy land. You knew the line they could not cross, the value of your God given privacy rights within your home and you presented yourself in the utmost professional and dignified manner!!
Thank you sir, I am truly humbled by your kind words. I love upstate NY been there many times, used to go to Runnings for ammo before the background check became an issue and stopped two major crime rings…..Canadians and Amish 🤣. I think the situation was exaggerated to police but realized it wasn’t much to worry about upon arrival. Too many ignorant people out there, way too many that believe whatever mainstream media says. Stay safe brother. Again thanks for all the support.
The problem isn't the police, it is the lawmakers. WE are "presumed" innocent until proven guilty, is a lie. Here in Canada, we are presumed guilty until proven innocent. The reality of our country.
The police are the problem. They should have asked the school if a threat was made and if the answer is no then their response should have been that there was nothing to be looked into further. Done. But they start salivating at the thought of a possible sensational arrest involving firearms. The possibility of the press photos with all the firearms laid out on a table to appear to be protecting the public. Absolutely ridiculous You should be able to take action for false reporting against the school.
Good to know… will speak to my young kids about not talking about guns with their friends in school. One thing I know is that if your partner doesn’t have a pal and police shows up when your away, even if they show up with a warrant, make sure that he/she says they don’t know the lock combination or where the keys are!!! Only someone with a pal is legally allowed to have access to the firearms. And some police will try it! Beware!
if you don't want the police to show up don't "brainwash your kid with far-right ideologies like the idea that there are only 2 genders" and this won't be a problem. The NDP now teach your children, you do not and if you disagree with them then you can talk to the police about how your far-right ideals aren't "a problem" for the local NDP.
Obviously seems like it was handled well. One thing I would throw out as an idea is when you say you shouldn't talk about it. Thats where I'm actually on the other side of the fence. I think as a country we need to re-normalize it. If the cops get sent a couple times they'll stop coming out and push back on the Karens calling for no reason. By trying to hide or not talk about it they're trying to make hunting taboo.
Also, now you are on their radar. They know about you now. The laws are not here to protect you or enforce your rights, they are here to keep you under control.
With the rcmp, common sense goes out the window. Im all for policing, but I’m flabbergasted at how inept the rcmp are. Im also disgusted that they would try and trick you.
goes to show, I was told at a rcmp recruiting show to claim metis and I would be in due to diversity quota. Ok so we hire on quota not on ability? Then wonder why powercontrol freaks cuff you for no mask?
I hope this gets more views! If only the firearms instructors would include this as a lesson to their firearm safety classes, so Canadian gun owners not only know the law but also the few rights we do have. Thank you for posting this!
Ian Runkle sent me here. This situation is a plausible possibility for me too if my 8 year old son were to mention my legally owned firearms. I'm going to take the necessary precautions. Thanks for the post.
Good job standing up for yourself and your rights. You did nothing wrong and owning firearms does not give them the right to just check up on them. They tried to make you slip up so they could confiscate your weapons. Such A waste of money!
Question, @mike: Are you a Canadian firearms owner? I believe you're mistaken. Police in Canada apparently DO have the right "to just check up on them". I have nothing to hide like you it’s a matter of principle. I resent the fact that you had to prove your innocence basically that there was no threat to anyone, after jumping through the hoops we have to possess a (R)PAL.
Times have changed that is for sure, firearms are vilified for their mere existence. This was handled very poorly by the school and I understand their intent and concern as I learned today there was a little more of a discussion than I originally thought but like you said nobody was threatened. There should have been a discussion of parties involved. We need to hold on to what few rights we have, as you said the principle of the matter.
The cops are going to do whatever they want today. The laws are not made for you, they are made to control you by the ones at the top of the food chain..
Thanks for being transparent and sharing with us all. Although I personally do not have any firearms, it behooves all Canadians to stay aware of The local laws.
As a fellow restricted PAL owner I feel awful that this happened to you but I would like to make a couple of corrections maybe you can even get Runkle to do a video. 1. When you receive your R PAL you give the RCMP authorization to search your house 24/7 without a search warrant to ensure possession and proper storage. The only thing the RCMP is required to do is give you 72 hours notice. 2. if your restricted firearm is in an actual gun safe it does not require a Triger lock. 3. A key lock gun locker is not considered a firearm safe thus it requires a Triger lock. You can easily look up the actual rules on line or simply contact your local chief firearms office for clarity on anything. The CCFR is also extremely informative but honestly if you have any questions at all about transportation or storage just call your CFO that's what they are there for. With all the new stuff coming into effect now under bill c-21 I just don't want people becoming anymore confused. Once again sorry about what happened to you.
incorrect you have to have like around 20 restricted guns for the RCMP to have permission to demand a search (at which point they notify and schedule when they will stop by later). C-21 likely has changed how they operate tho. C-68 basically gave them "warrantless searches" despite none ever being reported.
@@gregorycraig9882 they wrote that provision for people with more than like 15 restricted firearms ( not sure about the actual number but 15 definitely qualifies ) but that's aside from the blatant fact that the RCMP has the ability to do warrantless searches as written into C-68 regardless of whether you are a firearm owner or not. This hasn't been done yet but with respect to the regulation of ANY GUN by order in council like the AR-15 ban, that wasn't done until 2020 and subsequently with the new regulations for handguns... so just because they haven't used it yet doesn't mean they won't in the future. Do you really think the truckers won? Think about that for a minute when it comes to warrantless searches. Just sit down and think about that for a minute. They don't even need "emergency measures" to pull that shit off. Hmm wonder if it'll get abused?
You’re right about the trigger lock on pistols, I just have always stored them this way (less hassle when moving them to a transport box). A key lock gun safe is a valid safe (not the old glass panel locking cabinets). Thanks for the info, you’re right it is difficult to stay on top of the ever changing rules.
My son just randomly told a teacher that I had guns. Thankfully she was chill about it and I was there to explain it before it went any further. I live in Australia. Sounds like some similar gun laws to us. Good video mate.
Oz went to shit decades ago same as the uk sadly under idiot justin hes pushing ti make canuckistan as bad if not worse and all for control not for safety it's never about safety
Though for us cops from the licensing division can enter the premises that they are registered at to check they are correctly stored and that they are all there without applying for a warrant.
Thanks so much for posting this video. I found it very helpful. It's definitely my worst nightmare. I love my firearms, my sport. But it's getting scary.
When you apply for a PAL or RPAL you sign away your right to demand a warrant, The police do have to give you reasonable notice that they want to inspect and will be coming. In your case they didn't give notice and you, the gun owner were not there. If your wife or son had given them access to your firearms, and they didn't have the proper permit, you would have had a whole new basket of problems.
@@recceeboy1237 gun owner or not C-68 permits warrantless searches of any residence given the right premises related to firearms. learn to read it's all there. just because it hadn't happened like the "regulating the ban or other restrictions of any firearm they want" prior to 2020 doesn't mean it can't happen. again, it's all there in the legislation for the gun control bill C-68. This isn't a "gun owner vs non gun owner" thing, it's a basic human rights thing that's being trampled. This is only evidenced by other commonwealth countries knocking on people's doors for "thought crimes" which don't happen in Canada but soon will be once all the guns are gone. The NDP will send the police to your door for telling your child there are only two genders. Expect it. the RPAL "inspection" can only occur if you have over roughly 15 restricted guns. the actual number of that doesn't matter because it's BY APPOINTMENT and under the order of the chief firearms officer, they give you a minimum 1 or 2 full days to prepare for when they visit. THAT LITTLE THING IS BUT A RED HERRING TO EVERY OTHER AUTHORITARIAN FREE PASSS THEY GAVE THEMSELVES IN THE LAW. stop trying to lie to people. if it's gun related, potentially warrantless AT ANY TIME for NO REASON as it lists. Sure it may be challenged later but that might only begin to explain why it hasn't been done or reported yet. That doesn't change the fact that yes warrantless searches are very clearly written into C-68.
"When you apply for a PAL or RPAL you sign away your right to demand a warrant" not true that's only the case for those listed as collectors and there are still requirements for advance notice etc
Send this to Runkle. I want to hear his thoughts on this. I’m sorry this happened. I’m probably around your age, and even as a child, my dad took me to the government agents office to get my hunting license, and that made me about an hour and a half late for school. My father dropped me off at school, with great pride in himself for having got me all signed up as a legal hunter. The principal was standing at the front door of the school to greet me, and scolded me for being late. I explained that my dad just dropped me off, that he had taken me to get my hunting license. Well that just made her bloody boil! I can’t help it that the government agent’s office keeps the same hours as the school system. I learned more from my father than I ever learned in school anyway. This was probably around 1980 in a small west coast town. Keep teaching your son. You’re doing a good job 🇨🇦
You have my condolences man. Canada is one of the few places that makes me not feel as bad being here in the crazy US. We need to turn both countries around, it's insane.
Don't ever allow police into your home. Don't open the door, don't cross the threshold or let the police cross it. Be polite but don't exit the home, don't allow them into the home. Don't offer any information. God bless you and your family.
The problem with that approach is the police are trained to step into your personal space, which instinctively cause you to step backwards, thus implying consent to enter. If you stand your ground and let them walk into you, then it's 'assault police', as we saw with Rebel News David Menzies. Best not to answer the door OR exit from another door, lock it behind you, and meet them on the driveway. If they have a judicial warrant they'll break the door down or contact you by phone.
Looks like we’re about the same age. In my lifetime Canada has become unrecognizable from the country I grew up in. My wife is American and we left Ontario for Arkansas about 18 months ago to take care of my mother in law. The difference in everything is crazy! It’s like being back in early 1980s Canada as far as people’s attitudes and the people in general. There’s constitutional carry here so you can carry a concealed firearm without a permit or anything like that. I see guys who are carrying openly even at the grocery store and nobody batts an eye. It’s sad what a nanny state Canada has become where everyone seems scared of the most being things. The police and media have become arms of the liberal party and are misused daily. I really hope that there’s a major change in the government and the country in general soon so the people can get back to normal. You were far more polite with the police than I would have been. Hope everything works out ok brother.
@@paulinemclean375 that includes self inflicted and there are nearly 400 million people in the United States compared to 30 million in Canada. If you really want to see some high numbers you should look into deaths from motor vehicles, alcohol and tobacco.
@@chemistryofquestionablequa6252 Rationalization is an interesting and rather maladaptive way of justifying things. The fact that, yes, many of those deaths are suicides doesn’t make it better. I had an interesting talk with a relative who lives in Houston. He asked me what was wrong with the US. I said four things. The first thing I said “ You have a race problem” to which he said “ No , and that’s just what you see on tv” to which I replied” Yeah, all the time”. Secondly , I said they had a gun problem. Third, an opioid epidemic started in large part by unregulated big pharma and fourth , a class problem. Rich people get away with murder. To the point: there are too many guns owned by careless, irresponsible people that oftentimes fall into the hands of bona fide criminals. And that’s why the RCMP want to see how you store your guns if you’re a decent person who happens to own them. Where you’ve moved to , with open carry everywhere, it’s been proven that that level of gun ownership makes society less safe, not more so. Canada isn’t prissy, there are lots of hunters here. the cops have no authority over any man or woman only PERSON. Hi! I just came from Runkle the Bailey's channel. He did a great review of this video, and I came to subscribe & support! Personally, I'd complain to the school board about whoever called the police. That was absolutely ridiculous! Also, you had better speak with your child about strangers coming to talk to him, and not answering questions without a parent. Because the school took my 2 kids out of class and allowed social workers to interview them. Because my ex, during a divorce, for a jerk move, tried to say I had illegal guns that I inherited from my father. What I inherited was one, completely inoperable, decorative black powder muzzle loader. Unless you club somebody with it, it's not a weapon. It really scared and upset them they were asked things like do they feel safe with me. So they were scared they'd get taken from their mom. Canada is friggin ridiculous sometimes. I hope this is over for you. But I'd be very careful. ❤
Thank you, I have had long talks with my kids about keeping their views to themselves. Sad that we have to hide legal activities like it’s a dirty secret.
I can certainly relate. I was let go back in 2002 from Canada’s largest media company, because I was overheard by a coworker, discussing firearms with a police officer while doing my job (we dealt with police daily in our work) subsequently it got back to superiors that I held a PAL/POL and boom, laid off.
Runkle sent us. Glad this didn’t go completely sideways. Please let your kid know he is NOT TO BLAME. It is a sad reality and this is something he didn’t realize he couldn’t talk about but now he knows. We all learn in life and this is a lesson.
From Ontario Canada i hunt ,one of my friend's son (9 years old) was asked at school to draw what they did on the weekend so the drawing was a couple targets and someone shooting a gun at targets, the following day children aid society was at his house asking to look at his guns (non restricted)
Teachers hate the Canadian way of life. I don't know why, and it's certainly not true for all of them, but it does seem to be true for a majority. Must be something they teach in education programs, or something they select for when hiring or during the admissions process.
In Western Australia the police are currently passing laws that will enable them to search your house with NO warrant and no reasonable cause, all the individual officer has to do is say "I think you have an illegal firearm". This will enable them to search ANYONES house at any time wthout any warrant or cause or evidence at any time
Wow that is ridiculous, if things continue with the current government we will no doubt have similar laws. I was just watching a video on the camel problem Australia is having, some ARs would be helpful I think🤔
All of the questions being asked were attempts to trigger a warrantless search by getting you to say something wrong (legal violation) or by phrasing a question differently to get a conflicting although perhaps technically true answer which would then justify a further search without your consent. The police will never turn down the chance to conduct a search of private spaces and will never not spend the time trying to get someone to talk themselves into a crime. They don't care about any potential threat they just want to poke around your property, or get you to say something they can turn into an arrest and then a search. Even money if the police go and look for actual criminals or decide to work your case more and see if they can't shake something free. Sucks to be you, shame the police are as hostile as they are to the most lawful group of people in the nation.
@@theguywithbeardgunsandgear exactly what they wanted, sure enough "looking at the crossbow" they would see something that they deem worthy of further investigation. Do you have to keep all ammunition locked up? If so then sure enough they would see an empty shell casing and use that as "we found ammunition unsecured"
I got my fire arms license “proud of myself” lol. The point is your taught how to use store register etc for those that never took the course We in Canada we have strict laws to follow. There were young kids in the course by the way. They have us all on file. I think it’s good you’re educating city folks. The way you handled it was perfect. I doubt they will come back. You obviously know the rules. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, thanks for posting this informative video. Good God, sorry you went through that. This is one of my great worries and fears, I live across from a school and always I worry that someday while going to the range and loading the firearms into the vehicle, someone will freak out. I always have them locked in a case, but... the fear is there. Now that bill C21 is passed, the wording of that bill puts us all at risk of having a prohibited firearm as the list will grow and pinned magazines of 5 rounds, almost anything can be used against us to seize our assets. I worry that your experience will just be the beginning and law abiding Canadians will be worked over by the system our corrupt government has enabled.
I changed addresses a few years back during the covid bullshit, and the CFO office was "down" so i was allowed to change addresses without a temporary ATT. Just had to update my new address on the website. Still have the email confirming that. The RCMP showed up at my door and wanted to "verify" that my guns were stored properly. One was a snot nosed rookie on a power trip that was giving me constant attitude, the other was a corporal that was much more polite and respectful. They didnt have a warrant, but because he was so respectful, I allowed him to view the safe only. Made it very clear his hands were in his pockets at all times, he was not to touch anything. Also made the rookie stand outside by his car and off my property. Made it very clear that he should have brought a warrant and that I had every right to refuse. He agreed, said I didnt have to let him in and he would leave if I asked. I showed him the safe, demonstrated that it was bolted to the wall and locked. He said it was all good, thanked me, and walked out. He also said he would make a note on my file that the safe was secure. Havent had a problem since. Proof that being polite and respectful goes a lot farther that flexing illegal authority.
Yeah I guess it depends on the police that show up. I think we made a good decision letting them in to talk but they had no reason to go poking around so it’s a no for me.
Thanks for coming, this was never the intent of the channel or the content I wanted lol. Hopefully some will check out my other videos it might help me get out of the city lol
that to me sounds like a 'swatting' call on the part of the school and some one in that school should be charged with an offence, the backward and knee jerk reaction on the part of the RCMP tells you alot about how they operate as well
I came into the comments to see if someone said this, because this was my impression. It is borderline swatting. Another comment about knowing who your accuser is and why is relevant. Primarily so they can be educated as to firearms law.
Especially if the nature of the conversation that your son was having was describing a completely legal activity like hunting. I’d ask the school for a copy of their policy on reporting “threats of violence.” I would guess that its very prescriptive in nature and overhearing a couple of words like “gun” and “hunting” completely out of context of the conversation would not meet the definition of any well-written SOP. And if the admin did not follow the policy as its written - then you have a complaint that needs to go to the school board. Third-party hearsay that was not directly witnessed by an employee of the school should also be flagged - i.e. if this was a parent-initiated complaint. School staff and teachers are well-protected from lawsuits and administrative actions due to the power of their unions. Unless they step outside of written guidelines. And this is pretty clearly an abuse of any policy that they have. If the principal is blowing you off, make a complaint to the board - they will have to conduct an investigation.
Not only did you follow the laws the govt can decide you now need to give up your property because they dont want citizens to be able to defend themselves oops forgot defending yourself is illegal in Canada or resist tyranny thats why the the 2nd amendment was created because the american forefathers knew what govt will eventually do..@@theguywithbeardgunsandgear

Hopefully a reasonable judge hears the current evidence and also wonders why the police are wasting their time rather than issue a warrant. Good luck, stay safe!
My neighbor had a medical professional not qualified under our state law initiate a 72 hour mental health hold on him based on a misunderstanding in a two minute phone conversation. Judge signed the hold. The police, on the other hand not only got him, but went into his house (without a search warrent) and siezed his firearms. Tennessee does not have a "red flag" law. The mental health official who first saw him immediately determined that the hold was a mistake and had him released. He had to sue the police to return his property, and the judge ordered them to do that. It took the police about three months and threats from the judge to "figure out" how to do it. Needless to say I am somewhat skeptical about public officials actually following the law.
God bless you, friend. It makes me all the more grateful that I live in America, where I can just tell the Police to kick rocks without a warrant. Even better, I live in Texas, where I can get the most enjoyment out of being a firearms owner.
It just goes to show the ignorance of most people who live in cities in Canada, and the police are even more ignorant to the laws and rights of gun owners.

There is one Officer allowed to go into your home without a warrant at least in Ontario. It's the local Firearms Officer. That officer is allowed to inspect firearms and storage but ONLY that. They can not deviate from that one thing. If another officer tries to go with the Firearms Officer you tell them that they can not enter your house. If an officer comes to the door claiming to be the Firearms Officer you need to check because the Firearms Officer has a lot of responsibilities and rarely goes out to peoples homes. If He/she is not the Firearms Officer DO NOT LET THEM IN!!!! If you need to identify them step out of your home and close the door behind you and only talk to them for identification purposes. If it's NOT the Firearms officer you're talking to go back inside your home and tell them they can NOT enter. Never talk to the police without a lawyer present. Remember,... anything you say can be used against you... even if it seems benign and you feel that you're innocent, DON'T do it. Most of this advice was related to me at my Firearms training program.
yes a designated firearms officer can do this, but it has to be planned. he cant just show up and demand access. its in section 102 to 105 of the firearm act.

They know they are screwing the people over, otherwise an armed public is a good thing. Less policing needed because the public can defend themselves and more money for the les fortunate so not so many will have to resort to crime.
Then find the Registered Nurses on their website who work at that clinic and report them to their professional association as this was activity that they were conducting at their place of business as "professionals."
The initial responding police let me know it was a grey area with voyeurism and proving intent etc. but I could tell they were concerned and let me know that they would do what they could.

I just learned of this situation through "Runkle". My heart goes out to you and your family. I'm not paranoid yet, but do worry from allll the false information and propaganda from anti-gun lobbyists, Trudeau, civil security minister, and news media. We gun owners are many, but the non-gun owners are many times more. We all have to hold together and now be discreet about our sporting activities.
Thank you.
I think it’s sad that we have to hide a legal activity like it’s a dirty secret.
When I bought my first shotgun 45 years ago I rode a bus home, when getting on the bus the driver saw that I had a shotgun (by the shape of the box and company logo) He put the bus in park and asked to see your new shotgun. He took it out of the box and checked it out right there where there were lots of people on the bus, not one person commented or complained.
I’m pro LE and spent years in LE, no one in a LE (while on a call) capacity is coming in my home without a search warrant especially on a fishing expedition, especially because of an overheard conversation, that some triggered person had to rat out to the principals office.
The school did a shit job, they should have first called you, or at the very least spoke to your child with you or your wife there.
You did a fantastic job standing up for your charter rights.
There's no extra hoops for RPAL, it's the same as PAL, just one more 8 hour day course :/
Maybe have a talk with your son about where and when to have these types on conversations. Just like talking about bombs or guns in an airport.

You have rights be aware of them.
I believe it is only the chief firearms officer for your province that can ask to see if your firearms are stored correctly at anytime.
@@campsitez2355You must have 10+ restricteds for warrantless search. With warrant under 10, CFO MUST arrange mutually convenient time.

C-68 lets the police enter ANY residence (gun owner or not) without a warrant. Just because this hasn't been reported doesn't mean they can't.
Rpal is warrentless, pal is non registered so no.
Oh I know believe me
"When you apply for a PAL or RPAL you sign away your right to demand a warrant" not true that's only the case for those listed as collectors and there are still requirements for advance notice etc
Good old hindsight.

I always have them locked in a case, but... the fear is there. Now that bill C21 is passed, the wording of that bill puts us all at risk of having a prohibited firearm as the list will grow and pinned magazines of 5 rounds, almost anything can be used against us to seize our assets.

Hopefully some will check out my other videos it might help me get out of the city lol
that to me sounds like a 'swatting' call on the part of the school and some one in that school should be charged with an offence, the backward and knee jerk reaction on the part of the RCMP tells you alot about how they operate as well
Well it wasn’t the RCMP but that’s not the issue, it was a total knee jerk. I spend a good part of my morning making that point with the admin😊
Just finished watching the Runkle of the Bailey episode of this video. Great advice supporting this discussion.
Loved his video, I learned a lot.
Commie Canada
Never in my lifetime did I consider this could happen.
I follow all the rules and laws and boom 😡
Not only did you follow the laws the govt can decide you now need to give up your property because they dont want citizens to be able to defend themselves oops forgot defending yourself is illegal in Canada or resist tyranny thats why the the 2nd amendment was created because the american forefathers knew what govt will eventually do..@@theguywithbeardgunsandgear
public (and probably most private) school in Canada is nothing more than _"The NDP version of Sunday School"_ *EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK* so don't wonder why kids can't answer if there are only 2 genders or not because they're being brainwashed.
@@theguywithbeardgunsandgear hope this wakes up good folks like yourself - government tyranny
@@ghostrider-be9ekit’s a wake up.
Hopefully a reasonable judge hears the current evidence and also wonders why the police are wasting their time rather than issue a warrant. Good luck, stay safe!
Reasonable?
There proving to be political. Which opens many new doors. Lawless law enforcement. From the top down. Get your mind right!
No trigger lock required on a pistol if stored in a safe or vault. Only unloaded.
No I know but I prefer it this way, extra safe.
Also saves me searching for a lock for transport.
Just have the trigger lock on the shelf or in your case/range bag@@theguywithbeardgunsandgear
God bless you, friend. It makes me all the more grateful that I live in America, where I can just tell the Police to kick rocks without a warrant. Even better, I live in Texas, where I can get the most enjoyment out of being a firearms owner.
Love Texas
@@theguywithbeardgunsandgear it's not perfect, but there is no place I'd rather live.
@@raletkyI believe it.
It just goes to show the ignorance of most people who live in cities in Canada, and the police are even more ignorant to the laws and rights of gun owners.
81.75% of Canadians live in cities. 80% of Global GDP is created in cities. Don't you think you are being a little intolerant claiming all those people as ignorant when they create so much of a country's wealth?
@@croach2194 Ignorance, as expressed by the op of this comment, refers to a lack of education or particular knowledge about a particular subject. In this case, knowledge of responsible firearms ownership, The Firearms Act and Criminal Code of Canada. A lot urban dwellers do not even have a firm grasp on the Highway and Traffic Act and most of them drive, or the Landlords and Tenant Act, and lot of them rent.
It’s so sad
@@croach2194 What is required to live and create GDP? FOOD. Where is that grown? In the COUNTRY. Please be a little less ignorant yourself.
@@croach2194 The topic is firearms and Canadians' rights, not GDP. Are you trying to ignore the topic hand? What do you call it when you ignore the obvious topic at hand to make an irrelevant point?
Runkle of the Bailey did a video response to this video and said to support your video.
You seem like a solid dude and a good dad. I'm glad this interaction worked out for you.
Awesome! Thank you! I loved his video I learned so much, hopefully others will as well.
Great to know thanks
yes a designated firearms officer can do this, but it has to be planned. he cant just show up and demand access. its in section 102 to 105 of the firearm act.
My welcome mat says "Come back with a Warrant or Level 4 Plates"
I was born a troll 😂
That’s awesome, probably go to jail for having that here.
Brilliant
Wild what happened to Canada. My grandfather rode a street car to the store in Vancouver and bought a .22 rifle and then rode it back home rifle in hand, at 9 years old!
It has changed, some schools had shooting clubs.
Shared your video with Runkle of the Bailey he's a defence and firearms lawyer and will cover your video. Figured he will have a good perspective on things!
Love his videos, I would love to hear his perspective.
@@theguywithbeardgunsandgearhis analysis is how I got here! Great original video by the way, and a great analysis by Runkle.
Thank you for this video. Can’t wait until that clown Trudeau is gone and Pierre is running the show.
When are people going to get it through their heads that it doesn't matter who's elected, they're committed to going along with disarming the public because this is all a UN backed ploy. Pierre is just tough talking to get his snout into the federal trough.
Pierre is no different. Another pos neocon. You will see.
Any change is welcome at this point but I'm not convinced soviet era style housing complexes are going to pull us out of the mess the #uniparty establishment has created for us. I'd rather have Max.
Me too
Unfortunately, I am too cynical to believe any Canadian politician can save us or not become corrupt once in power
Had the same conversation with my 7 year old son. To risky in Montréal schools….. Even though Montréal has the highest number of hunters in the HOLE PROVINCE OF QUEBEC.
It’s risky anywhere now. I’ve had many conversations to my kids about topics that shouldn’t be discussed near certain types of people.
Hopefully this doesn’t happen to you.
Thank you for sharing, I had no idea. It's a shame the police try to take innocent answers and try to make you seem criminal. *I hope you are okay after this; it kind of makes you feel uncomfortable in your own home. Most of all I'm glad you know your rights!*
My goal is to help those prepare for their “visits”
