It's crazy how much you have to watch your back and be on your tippy toes while being a firearm owner in Canada. The most law abiding citizens in the country and we're always looked at as crazy or dangerous.
As a law abiding Canadian citizen who loves to hunt to provide natural, healthy meat for my family, I stand with you my friend. Greetings and best wishes from Nova Scotia 🇨🇦. Stay strong brother.
The RCMP officially claimed the Nova Scotia shooter "wasn't their guy" despite failing to explain how he was being paid like an agent/informant might be paid. So if we are to believe the RCMP we must reflect back on Prince Harry and Megan Markle post marriage looking to move to Canada or New Zealand around 2018. What is significant about that? Well Canadians were not happy with the idea of paying for their security detail at all and it's likely NZ was in a similar position. What happened in 2019 and 2020 after all of that? A shooting in NZ (2019) with an AR-15 and a shooting in Canada (2020) with an AR-15 both subsequently triggering bans on the AR-15. It looks like their security costs were diminished significantly in both of those commonwealth countries for the "royal couple". We understand Wortman was paid in a manner not accessible to ordinary people so if he wasn't an agent/informant of the RCMP that kind of points the finger in the direction of MI-6 if the RCMP is being truthful in their denial. Does the UK government care to explain themselves now?
No Sir, I’ve always used and stored my firearms in a safe and legal manner. Hunting with a license(s), sport shooting at my local firing range. I have my RPAL but never bought restricted firearms. @@specag31
I am a veteran clean military record and civilian record was also a PAL instructor over ten years with many courses taught under my belt . But mariachi lost my renewal for my pal . They took my prohibited pistols and restricted pistols and was told there is no way I am getting them back and that i am losing my teaching license as well. Thousand of dollars walked out the door without any compensation or idea i will or can get them back all because they lost my renewal . Did they ( government) lose my renewal on purpose, I believe that more than anything. Canada is lost , welcome to Canadastan!
No , it was done intentionally... Here in the states if you want a suppressor or you want a short barreled rifle you must pay a 200$ tax and get the ATF approval after mountains of paperwork, my current photo and my fingerprints .. I moved so I filled out the correct form to say I moved and you cannot take ur NFA weapon to a new address untill it's approved . I had the form rejected By MISTAKE and was told to send in another one , it was again rejected by MISTAKE .. I filled out the forms properly . There were no mistakes on my end , just MISTAKES on their end .. Each time I sent the form it takes weeks to be processed .. I feel like they were trying to make me give up bc of the immense frustration they put me through... But I filled out a 3rd form that was the same as the other forms and it was approved ... Trust me , they will do anything they possibly can to legally disarm you ... Out gov sees gun owners as domestic terrorists because apparently they're running the country so bad. They're afraid that Americans are going to start standing up and changing things. So any excuse the guns must go ... It's sick ... Don't think they didn't do that on purpose...
I have been a US police officer for 46 years and was on a trip in Washington DC with my wife. We were picked up by a van to be taken to the airport with another couple on it. We talked and found that we were both police officers (he is a "constable) i mentioned that I was going to check my pistol in my luggage at the airport, he asked if I was armed now I said yes, he asked if that was legal I told him I could carry anywhere in the USA. He told me he couldn't even carry his pistol home after his shift and we talked about gun laws. He said that his government was telling LE in Canada to do things they do not believe in. We also spent a few weeks in Canada recently ad the people we spoke to seemed to be very unhappy with the current Canadian "leadership" Good luck with the progressive communists in your country leadership. We are not too far behind what you have.
Thank u you sir, yes as I have said I can’t believe that most police would agree with their policing “priorities”. That being said, we have a huge uphill battle in front of us. We need to change our government before it’s too late. Stay safe and good luck.
at least with Trump you got a legitimate opposition people think pierre is our Trump, but he isn't he's no where near trump, Trump actually sticks up for americans on the spot no matter what pierre is just another suit and will only say the things he needs to say like every other politician to get votes and yea wont stick up for canadians until it looks good on media and i was raised by "judge by actions not words" and pierres actions to not impress me in the slightest and he's supposedly the "opposition"
Probably from an agency like Toronto Police. We have some fudd departments as well as some great, real progressive forward thinking ones. Those are department set policies about issued firearms. I know a lot of department policies permit “off duty” carry of firearms here in Canada. With stipulations of course such as being in province only for our municipal agencies at least. Although the practice is a lot less common than in the USA. And a lot more of a grey area unlike how you guys have federal laws such as LEOSA permitting just about any police officer to carry country wide.
@@theguywithbeardgunsandgear agreed. We as licensed law abiding gun owners ought to be able to carry. But that’s a far shot off from where we are right now. Hopefully one day.
Do not talk to police. Ever. They are not interested in your story. They are interested in arresting. Ask if they have a warrant. If they don't then say goodbye to them and close the door. If they do have a warrant then call a lawyer. Remember, if you're guilty, you need a lawyer. If you're innocent, you REALLY NEED A LAWYER. Never speak to cops.
@@satbobsmith7261we have been going over the basics lately, like you said build layers. Thank you so much for your support. My wife did amazing, very proud of her. Lucky to have her😊
Cops are there to make an arrest, take a report about an incident that already happened,or to try to get you to "chat" so they gain as much information as possible. That's all they do. Oh...and write speeding tickets. Almost forgot.
@@theguywithbeardgunsandgear Do NOT get cloud enabled cameras. Or at least, go over the EULA agreements with a lawyer before you do, because cloud camera companies in particular and cloud security companies in general have a penchant for cooperating with the cops and giving them unfettered access to the data on the cameras.
Canada does have a constitution, and essentially a bill of rights in the Charter. The language is not bad. What is bad in Canada is that we do not have the constitutional traditions of the US such as commitment from politicians and particularly courts to honour and uphold that constitution.
If it has provisions for those "rights" to be taken away when the government feels like it it's not worth the paper it's written on 😂😂😂 , remember all the countries that were loyal to the brits have the same issue, so the British monarchy loyalist are the problem as the brit laws were meant to control their colonies and keep the people as simple subjects just subjects with the minimum rights and with the illusion that they have rights 😂😂😂, God bless the forefathers of América that's what I say for standing up to the brits and thanks to those when gave their life in that revolution🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷
Our charter is not absolute. Since the Liberals have been in power they have violated every single charter on our charter of freedoms and rights. It’s not worth the paper it’s printed on.
As a life time FAC holder, yes i am that old, and then a PAL licenced, law abiding, tax paying, patriotic Canadian, I salute you for even posting your experience. This is such a scary time as, in my own experiences, interacting with any police force for any reason can be dicey at best. Most peace officers have zero understanding of the Firearms Act. I know this from firsthand experience. I agree that we almost feel afraid to share our love of our sport. We should not have to in a "free" country. Best advice that one of my cop buddy's shared is, until the tyrant is sent back to Cuba, stay low and stay in your circle of liked minded individuals. The woke left are just looking for a reason to cause shit. Bro, don't hide it just be desecrate. You nor I do not ever need more stress in our lives. And tell everyone to get out and vote. (sooner than later I hope). No vote, no right to bitch! If they can take our legally obtained property they can go take theirs! Thanks for posting and teaching your family. Peace! P.s. Your son should never live in fear because he wants to share what a cool father he has and what great life experiences you provide him with. Teachers need to stay in their lane and teacher not indoctrinate.
Wow, thank you so much. It is truly humbling to hear such kind words. Raising kids these days is not easy, I am very lucky I’m blessed with two fantastic boys and an amazing wife. You sir hit the nail right on the head….vote and let’s get this changed.
I have had a gun licence since they first brought them in, owned firearms and hunted since I was 14 years old first couple of years under my dad's supervision....I am 65 now so 51 years. I personally am tired of being treated like a criminal by successive Liberal governments, especially when they do very little about the actual criminals. So I at this point have decided I am not renewing my PAL, expires in May and will mow become the criminal they continually accuse me of being. Never have I broken the law other than the odd speeding ticket....but I have come to the conclusion the real criminals in this country are the liberal and NDP politicions who continually abuse the power we have allowed them.
Just a quick comment on voting...the truth is that WE THE PEOPLE do not have a legal or legitimate "government" sitting in Parliament...what we have is a group of traitors leading a covert war against US...in signing Agenda 21 Brian Mulrooney gave away our National Sovereignty (section 46 of the criminal code is clear anything interfering with our National Sovereignty is TREASON) in favor of rule by a foreign unelected body known as the UN...Everything happening has its roots in the Agenda/s...including the plan to disarm the citizens...VOTING as things stand will change exactly NOTHING...all sitting parties support the UN Agendas...left wing right wing are both on the same UN bird...
When You live in the northern regions, which is at least 2/3 of Canada in area, You have no vote, neither provincially or Federally, and We are the People Who value Our gun privileges the most, Canadians Who are actually living the lives that made Canada, Hunters and Fishers....not paper passers....

cause what if the son was talking about his father going target shooting with his handgun? that still doesnt even slightly justify this type of reaction.
If people aren't donating to their favorite political party, and I mean up to the maximum, and also giving their time when they can, then nothing is going to change. People need to step up. I say this as someone who spent years volunteering.

Runkle Of The Bailey is good. Very knowledgeable and does a good job breaking the law down into simple terms that most of us can understand. I enjoy his channel very much. Plus he's Canadian so what he discusses is relevant here.
I was one of those who sent your video to Ian Runkle and happy to do that. I appreciate his commentary and thought that there were many many more people who could use clarification, including myself, on what our 'Rights" are, specifically with search and seizure. I thought that this was the perfect opportunity for us firearms owners to get a real education about how we should react in the same situation. Thank you for addressing comments and questions!
That behaviour of "Let's stay hidden, we'll be left alone", is the stupidity that got us there. We should be talking and pushing the hobby all the time !
Hi. I'm in Toronto. I had the guns and gang unit waiting in front of my home one day when I came home from work. They said someone reported seeing me with a gun case. They already knew my name when I got out of my vehicle. They knew I had a firearms license. They asked what I was doing with the firearm. I said to them, your alleging that I had a firearm. Did the person see a gun or a case. They said a case. I said do you have proof that there was a firearm in said case. They said no, but were there for public safety. I laughed and said for a gun case. Is that illegal now? They said we'll you had a gun. Once again I stated your alleging I had a gun in the case. The one officer then said we can take your guns away if you break the law. I asked what law did I break. He said none. I then said what are you doing here then?. At that point the second officer turned around and walked back to his car. The first officer then stated he didn't want to have to come back. I asked if he was threatening me? He then repeated we can take your guns. I asked if I could get a Sargent here and he just walked away, got in the car and left. The way the police see it. If you have a gun. Legal or not your a criminal.
Actually yes, we are. Legal criminals. Firearms are illegal but if you have a license you may have one. Screw that up in any way and you have slid into the status of criminal. The whole intent is to make us pariahs. Sorry you had to go thru that.
@@mikedundee65 I'm lucky to have a criminal trial lawyer as a friend. But he gives the same advise as runkle. Keep you mouth shut. That's why you pay a lawyer is to speak for you. Lol
Man that is ridiculous, but it also gives me an idea….what if we just walk around with an empty case. Sooner or later they’d get tired of responding to the calls and we wouldn’t be harassed for doing nothing wrong. 🤣🤣🤣
Great breakdown of your scenario and additional information on this subject. Good job of communicating with this audience! You have gained another subscriber! Thank you sir!😊
Thank you, as a relatively new gun owner at 57 . I had always wanted to get into firearms. But had put it off, thinking there was always time and what a great hobby to get into towards retirement. I guess I waited too long. Just after getting my restricted the freeze went into place . So I was not able to get some of the firearms I wanted. Anyway I think you did a great job. Handling a very bad situation. I also agree hiding in the shadows, is part of the problem. There needs to be more education about firearms to the general public, if we're ever going to be able to change people's minds. Anyway good luck and be well. Hugh
Thank you and welcome to this amazing hobby filled with outstanding people. Hopefully we have a change and some of the nonsense laws are repealed so that you can enjoy even more variants. Thanks for your kind words and support.
Thank you for sharing your experience with this. I got my PAL early last summer and my first gun in August 2023, since then I've been obsessed with learning as much as possible about my guns and the firearms community here in Canada. Hearing your story gives newbies like me good knowledge about how to use our rights and to protect our privilages in this country. Runkle Of The Bailey is another excellent man of knowledge. I subscribed to your channel and watched a couple of your other videos, keep up the good work! In one of them you mentioned That Hunting Store in Richmond and I realized I live really close to Richmond but never heard of that store. I went the other day and you're right, the people there are excellent! Great selection of used guns too. That will be my go-to shooting store from now on.
Runkle if the Bailey covered my video, loved it. Thanks for watching my video’s glad you enjoyed them. We are a great community and live to share. That hunting store is my go to when I’m in the area, small town service and big box store inventory. Next time you’re there and you see Jen, tell her Beard guy sent you😁
Canada doesn't have rights, they have privileges. If you understand the constitution and the bill of "rights" you'll quickly learn the reality and it stems from have to be beholden to an inbred foreign crown, yes foreign. Canada is more closer to the US than it is to the UK. Canadians (by right) cannot own land, all land is owned by the crown, you can own real estate but that just means your domicile or structure.
Thanks for your videos. Golf bag or guitar case is definitely a criminal offense and has been charge as concealed firearm. I don't want to lose my license and guns, I have watched Runkle of the Bailey for years. My garage is also _full_ of stuff.
Thanks for posting these videos. Your experience has been very enlightening. can't wait to see your gear reviews once you have time to pull them together. And to our US neighbours who find our gun laws Draconian, our Prime Minister has stated plainly that using a firearm for self defence in Canada is illegal. You can do a search on RUclips for the clip. I am coming back to shooting in my retirement years after a long hiatus. I was VERY disturbed when hand gun sales were made illegal in Canada. I am hoping that the next government will reverse this decision. I watched many of the Public Safety Committee sessions prior to the law being enacted. The hysteria over firearms was embarrassing to watch. The one positive thing I will say, having gone through the training and testing to receive my PAL gave me some comfort to know that people who are allowed to purchase and use firearms in Canada have been properly vetted and prepared for the responsibility for safe firearm use. And in closing, I will just add one final note that has been consistently confirmed by law enforcement...the firearms used in Canada to commit crime have not been purchased by licensed gun owners so the sweeping gun ban orchestrated by the NDP/Liberal government will do nothing to curb violent gun crime. This is borne out as crime continues to rise even since the enactment of Bill C-21. This bill has done nothing but further complicate the lives of lawful gun owners with yet more regulations.
Well said! Thank you for coming over to the Chanel, our government needs to reverse course on the BS laws they’ve recently passed and start going after the real problem. Our community is growing and they’re all amazing people. Welcome back to the sport. Thanks for watching. 😁
I was not a PAL holder until Bill C21 was introduced. I have always been interested in target shooting but never really did anything about it. Seeing how law abiding Canadian citizen's are being trampled on and used as political scapegoats was the tipping point. My 15 year old son and I are enjoying the hobby and my collection of firearms has grown. You make a great point about not keeping gun ownership a dirty little secret. I did tell my son not to talk about guns and shooting at school because the blue-haired ninnies might be listening. Pedophiles are not as scrutinized as PAL holders in this country, it is ridiculous.
First of all, thank you for your support. Secondly welcome to our wonderful sport, you and your son are making memories that will last your lifetimes and beyond. Great bonding experiences. We have been vilified for sure. Take care😀
Found your channel, I listened to what happened and just want to say this Canadian supports you. It is truly scary as to what is happening and what is slowly being chipped away. cheers
This could be me so easily. I've been having the occasional FB argument with my son's vice principal (he's already publicly announced his intentions to run for the liberals) on gun control ever since the OIC, you can imagine how well we agree. LOL Just want to say: 1 THANK YOU for sharing your experience. We'd already had these talks with the kids but have shown your vids as a reminder. 2 video games, i shoot IPSC pistol, my son is now IDing almost every riffle appearing on TV, it's nothing he's seen with me at the range. I could have police at my door because of my kids talking about video games. 3. full auto mag dump, it's not new. CTV did it the day after OIC announcement. I mentioned it to a group of coworkers/hunters at lunch. I was laughed at by friends, they refused to believe our MSM would not know the law before posting an on-line article, I must be lying when saying the gun in their video has been prohibited since 78. Many believe you wear a tinfoil hat if you question the MSM's credibility. Keep spreading the truth!
It’s happening a lot, just read the comments there are a lot of similar stories. It’s scary how fast you can find yourself knee deep. I personally am done sneaking around, to heck with the Karens😝
I didn't say in my comment on your last video, but I was charged with unsafe storage years ago. It happened when my house was broken into. So because of the insurance I had to call the law. In the break-in, thousands of dollars of recording equipment was stolen and never recovered. But,... when the cops realized there was a secure storage locker full of firearms in my home, I was fubared. For me, the way I do things is that every firearm is disabled and secure with multiple locking systems. (when you only need 2) But all they saw was the collection I own. The thieves didn't even see the entry to the locker. That's how it's set up. Now at that time I was a member of the NRA and their lawyers were fantastic. Mine were too because I fought those bastards. I gave them hell when they were taking my firearms and I remember saying to them that I sighted each one of those in, and I expect them back unmolested. A couple of weeks later I won that case and picked up every one of my firearms. And I will say they were well kept but they all had toe tags. haha. Here's the thing, the cops look for people that fit certain profiles. If one fits a certain profile, there's problems. When one clams up and refuses to talk to them them now you fit the profile that makes you look guilty. I've had more than a few run-in's and I really think its more about the psychology today. I started hunting when all you needed was the orange card. Cheers!!
Yeah it’s unfortunate but it happens all too often. One of the better comments I read today was; “if you are guilty, you need a lawyer, if you’re innocent you really need a great lawyer”. Glad it worked out.
Thank you for sharing the experience. Sorry it happened to you and I am sure it is happening to many others. Awareness and education are our best defence for sure. As a firearms owner with several young school age kids in the house your storey has prompted me to do a firearms storage security audit in our house as well as review with the kids appropriate language or lack of it around the firearms we have in our house when they are anywhere outside of the house. Stay safe.
Great video! Sorry you had such a bad experience with the police... I think your wife handled it really well! You have a gem there! Keep up the good work! I don't hide it when I go to the range or hunting, and thankfully, I haven't had any issues with the neighbours.
I enjoyed your program you are spot on , it reminded me of a story my father-in-law told me of his homeland the Orkney Islands. The authorities came around looking for illegal stills finding nothing, an elderly gentleman said i know where there's one its on that little island, they went and searched to no avail so he went and set up his own. Sorry if I'm little off topic cheers.😊
Years ago, I got a call from a firearms officer. He asked me why I had a restricted firearm allowance on my FAC/RPAL when I didn't have any restricted firearms registered. I told him I'd owned a restricted firearm for the previous 10 years or so, and my paperwork was all current. He wanted to see it, and I said fine. Turns out, when I had moved between provinces, and got all the proper paperwork to move it, the CFC deleted all the electronic records they had of me owning a handgun. Blew me away they could delete such an important record so easily, and it made me wonder how often that kind of stuff happens. Anyways, I had enough hard copy paperwork to prove my side, and I got it sorted out without a problem.
I'm going to be honest. I in the anti-gun camp. Grew up in suburban Toronto when it was still nice, didn't see the point. My dad was ex-military (he even once said he didn't like guns). Over the years I've met people who I was surprised were gun owners or shooting enthusiasts. I've now done a complete reversal. It doesn't matter how many gun laws you have, because the criminals will always find ways to acquire them.
Wow, it takes a lot of courage and open mindedness to be able to accept a change, I applaud you. You are spot on, gun control does not stop criminal activity. We need better border security and tougher sentences to repeat offenders especially regarding firearms offences.
@@theguywithbeardgunsandgearyou don't need any gun laws whatsoever. There's already laws that apply to everything and gun laws are unnecessary. Murder, robbery, assault, etc, are already against the law.

In America we say: “you will NEVER talk yourself out of handcuffs. You can however talk yourself INTO them”. Meaning if they have you cuffed for anything, justified or not, whatever you say isn’t going to have then remove them. They will determine you are free, but if you open your yap, smart mouth or be an azz you can get them to put them on you real quick.
Runkle has a video on the exact subject of carrying a firearm in a container designed to conceal what it is, such as a guitar case. The Cliff Notes of that video were that it’s almost certainly illegal for you to do that.
@@theguywithbeardgunsandgear Good on you for being smart about your business. I’m also glad you are taking the comments on being more skeptical of government agents and especially cops on board. There’s nothing quite as frightening as hearing”we’re from the government and we’re here to help.”
I admire your refusal to comply with social pressure going forward. New subscriber from one of the Rocky Mtn States of the US ! Interesting watching your videos since this is what we fear our government wants to do to gun enthusiasts here in the US. I have relatives who live in Canada and I've spent time in BC and Alberta, it always amazes me with the wonderful outdoors and hunting opportunities in Canada just how restrictive, and abusive, to the general public your gun laws are. The difference in attitudes between the US and Canada... my parents gifted me with my first rifle when I was 12 years old, a 22 that I still have and cherish until this very day ! I have hunted and taken most of the big game species with rifle or bow that the US has to offer and have done so proudly in this wholesome, back to nature sport and hobby.

Hi. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your video(S), I watched the first one and this one plus Ian Runkle's video as it relates to yours. I am an avid hunter, firearm collector and have done some minor sports shooting(Milsurp and sporting clays). After watching your video I had a conversation with my daughter and her husband(we live in a basement apartment in their home) regarding what to say/do should the police come to the door with an enquire such as yours. I am an OFAH member and CCFR member and we need to support our community as much as possible, we are a minority when it comes to the general population for sure. The biggest issue we have (IMHO) is that the general(Non hunting/sports shooting) population is ill informed and politicians(another ill informed group!) take advantage of this and make people like you and I out to be the bad guys in the guise of public safety. I could go on but we both know this is a lengthy conversation so I'll just say thanks again and continued success with your channel.
Thank you so much, YES!!! Exactly why I put these videos out. So that other people can have that conversation and be better prepared or even better not talk yourself into trouble. I remember being a freshman in high school back in the late 90's and we would have our hunting equipment in window racks in the school parking lot during hunting season.
Back when i was 18 and i recently got my PAL, me and my dad were going into his house after hunting to secure our firearms. I cant remember if it was the next day but supposedly his nosey nabour walked over and flashed a MNR badge at his landlord. Me and my dad were out at our land working on some projects when she walked over. So the landlord comes driving up to us saying that we cant be doing whatever nonsense the Karen said. Hes a firearms owner as well so seeing the badge freaked him out and mad him panic. We later learned that she was nolonger MNR and retired, almost seems to me that she was impersonating an officer. Nothing happened afterwards even after reporting her for flashing a badge, no laws we broken on our end. Just a Karen in a rural area where at least ⅓ of the people probably have a firearm in their home
Thank you for the update. Please don't use "Weapon" to replace "Firearm". The current government, Anti gun groups and the media routinely use "Weapon" to convince the uneducated public that banning our firearms will reduce crime. In Canada we have Firearms Legislation. Weapon is defined in the Criminal Code. Licensed, vetted and trained firearms owners dont use the firearms they own as weapons.
@@theguywithbeardgunsandgear I was in the military for 34 years. You are 100% correct. Never, ever was I ordered to go get my "firearm"...it was always "go draw your weapon". We were one of the few professions that could use the weapon we were issued as a weapon when the ROEs allowed us to do so. Police, Coast Guard, CSIS, Government authorized security services are in the same boat. Criminals use "weapons" duuring a commission of a crime. They have a criminal intent. Every time I hear a politician, member of the media or a member of the public use the word "weapon", I cringe. They asked me what am I going to do with the rifles and shotguns, I said I’m keeping them. The police officers said good for you. Keep them. You could tell they didn’t want to be there taking the hand guns
Other scenario is, if you did close the door on them they would have 'feared for the safety' of the occupants of the home. I've heard this scenario play out over the communications scanner. Guy didn't want to talk to police, he closed the door on them. Next thing is they bashed down his door. Put it this way, the cops will lie to gain entry if they really wanted to. They ALL lie.
Good idea keeping notes. I think you're heroic for processing all those comments. For decades gun owners keep them out of sight in consideration of their neighbours so it's insulting to be vilified based on the imagination of people like Polysouvient and my wife, with all due respect. Why don't my hobbies warrant reciprocal respect?
Before going to his house, they should have instead to get details of that conversation the school overheard. Once they confirmed that no weird words were mentioned, they should have stopped there
Haha , yeah , sure. They will never do that. I had a false DV accusations on me , non of those guys was willing to use common sense and take a closer look. They basically wrapped it up and sent me on ky way thru court system, and only when it became apparent that when we get to trial, someone will be on the hook for false accusations - crown magically withdraw the case, and send it to the dumpster.
I'm very lucky with my neighbors, they are well aware of me having a firearms, and couldn't care less. --- Funny part is one of them find out about it, she said - ehh really?, you are a firearm owner ? You don't look like one. 😂😂 I was rolling laughing, 😂😂 here is the stigma media puts in people's heads.
@theguywithbeardgunsandgear yup , they make firearm owner look like his agenda is to shoot someone, that's the only this in his mind. When i was is high school - we was living in apartment, there was a guy on lower floor, first time we went to his place - his dad started showing us his guns , jeezz this guy had so much stuff , he probably could supply a small army 🤣 , extremely cool dude. And i found a Rod Giltaca channel after , and that's it ..... I was hooked.

Thank you for bringing these issues out into the light. As a 73 year old hunter, firearms owner who has always believed in safety, responsibility’s and respect of all firearms laws. What I do want to thank you for, is your comment about the RCMP coming to your door when or if you’re not home. Then asking your wife or whoever is home to get access to your gun safe. Then asking them if they have the combination or access to the gun safe. This all sounds innocent enough, until we now know as you pointed out, it’s illegal for someone who doesn’t have a PAL to have the combination to the locked safe. I find it interesting and very concerning that the RCMP would use this nefarious tactic to gain entry to your home, property and gun safe. As of this writing, I will instruct my wife to never cooperate with government tyrants whose only agenda is confiscation of private legally purchased property. Where are my rights ? Where is our constitutional rights ? If a policing agency like the RCMP will stoop so low as what they have done to you, I doubt I personally will ever be confident in their ability to uphold my rights as a Canadian citizen. This is so very sad, because I was once an advocate of policing, now I don’t know who to trust, but I’m absolutely sure it’s not my Liberal government regardless of their position on safe storage, possession or the illegal US guns being used and resold to commit violent crimes here in Canada. Somehow the legal ownership rights and privileges that went along with it are now the bad guys and the real bad guys are just turned back onto the streets again to continue their crimes. In conclusion I believe and maintain that our federal government has been misleading the general public and need to be held accountable for their own mistakes and mismanagement issues. Somehow democratic rights, real democracy and decency within our federal government needs to be restored or restructured. Private property, weather it be land, personal property, firearms or bank accounts must be protected under a charter that actually protects the citizens of Canada from tyrannical governments. So disappointed in our federal government and now it’s legal system.
Just so you know it wasn’t even the RCMP, it was local but same thing, they do what they’re told. Things have really changed in the last 8 years and not for the better in most cases. We need a change soon or all will be lost. Hope it helped prepare you for what I believe is going to be a frequent occurrence.
UK here. We have special aggravated charges for bottling. But yeah, knives. Scary. Basically, we have no right to defend ourselves, loved ones or our property.
US citizen here. I don’t understand how anti gunners think that someone who is willing to take a life, outside self defense, is going to follow any laws they could come up with is mind blowing. I realized that there’s no constitution in Canada, but given that the US Supreme Court isnt doing anything when the lower courts and legislatures are passing bills that are blatantly unconstitutional, we are dangerously close to not having one. We have one right that protects all the others. And it’s constantly chipped away. Canada is treated like a trial ground for what the US will try. That’s why this situation should be equally concerning to US citizens as it is for Canadians.
There is a problem with a system where you are held to account by laws that you are unable to interpret and that are applied selectively. These same laws being made by a select group of self interested parties, that we really have no say in who they are, apart from selecting the local stooge, who must vote as directed by the party whips.
Does the Canadian Shooting Sports Association ever provide citizens/members legal assistance? Most Americans I know are as concerned about firearm rights and what happens in Canada as they are worried about what happens here in the USA.

A similar scenario happened to our neighbour. They have custody of their grandson. One day the grandson got mad at another student and shouted that he was going to get one of his grandpa's guns and shoot him. The principal contacted the police as he should have. The police had to look into the matter as they should have. They showed up at my neighbours residence and politely explained why they were there. They asked if the guns were stored securely and if the grandson had access to them? My neighbour apologized for his grandson's outburst and stated that his guns were secured properly and that his grandson did not have access to them. The police asked if they could verify that. "Of course" my neighbour replied and showed them his gun safe. The police were polite and confirmed that the guns were indeed stored securely. They thanked my neighbour and left.

I guess I never realized just how different the United States is from Canada, even in the parts of the US that have some of the strongest gun control. I’m from New York, firearms for defense and as a hobby is still a part of the conversation. You can walk to your car with a rifle bag no problem. I’ve always been very open about my hobby and the majority of people I meet think It’s cool even if they have no interest in firearms. Most people I meet ask me for advice and inquire about good defensive firearms to protect themselves and their families. Most of the political conversation here in the us centers around “scary” military features and high capacity magazines, but outside of that and across all political spectrums gun ownership, home defense and concealed carry is practiced in all 50 states
I’m sure you mentioned this, and maybe you don’t want to and I get it, but which province was this? And I guess you dealt with city police? Or RCs/OPP?
There is no reason for you to hide ever. So what you've got firearms, as an Albertan myself I too have firearms so does my nephew. Born and raised by parents who came from the good old farming background. Proud of you for what you did do and how your family handled the entire situation.

@@theguywithbeardgunsandgear It is probably better to say that we wish our constitution was more compressive and straight forward. It really is just a mess, and a lot of it is just all the laws passed before the constitution was signed. So, there is really no actual direction in it. As to changing the constitution, senate and parliament need to agree to the change, as well as 7 provinces that represent at least 50% or provincial population. Not very easy to change, and also a reason we've never tried to change it.
I can definitely understand not living in fear of the Karens out there. My local gun club gives out “Buddy Passes” each time you renew your membership, which is a coupon basically to allow you to bring a non-member to the range anytime for free. I use mine to take neighbours, especially the ones that have never handled a firearm before. I suppose it’s my way of winning over my neighbours, and getting them to know that most responsible, legal, law abiding gun owners in Canada are a pretty decent bunch of safety-minded individuals. They usually come back with a completely different view on guns and gun owners.
Yeah I have reached out to several people, you have to gauge your audience. That is exactly the approach we need so we can somewhat normalize our sport to the ill informed.
What many people don’t understand is that if you don’t have the right to defend yourself with arms, anywhere at anytime, you are not free, PERIOD! Canadians are not free, they are not citizens of their own country, they are simply subjects to the government. That’s simple factual reality, when you don’t have the right to defend yourself. End of story!🤷♂️🧐

I'm a bit late on this one. Great follow up! I would like to encourage you, and the community, to not refer to shooting as a hobby. Instead, refer to it as a discipline. Responsible handling, owning, or studying firearms is exactly that.

Amen🙏

I know a lot of department policies permit “off duty” carry of firearms here in Canada. With stipulations of course such as being in province only for our municipal agencies at least.

Thanks 👍🇨🇦
Really appreciate your video
We need to stay connected via videos, and in the comments
Again thank you
Thank you and yes of course, I read and reply to all I can😊
Thank you for sharing your experience with this.
Next time you’re there and you see Jen, tell her Beard guy sent you😁
Amen brother
Stand up for your rights in Canada right now.
Please help the Canadian constitution foundation ❤
Trudeau must go!!
Thank you.
The sooner the better, we’ve suffered enough. 😢
Thanks!
Thank you sir, much appreciated.
Thanks for your videos.
Golf bag or guitar case is definitely a criminal offense and has been charge as concealed firearm.
I don't want to lose my license and guns, I have watched Runkle of the Bailey for years.
My garage is also _full_ of stuff.
Runkle is awesome.
I consider myself well informed but I’ve learned a lot.
Hope you like the channel and thanks much.
Thank you for sharing.Awareness is huge for firearm owners.Subscribed.
Thank you, much appreciated. Hope it helps those god forbid put in the same situation.
Hope you like the content.
Take care😀
Thank you for sharing your experience. Sorry you had to through it.
Thank you, yes I believe we’re through this experience. Hopefully it helps someone, have a feeling I won’t be the only one.
Found your channel, I listened to what happened and just want to say this Canadian supports you. It is truly scary as to what is happening and what is slowly being chipped away. cheers
Truly appreciated, even if you’re a gun guy I most people will acknowledge that freedoms have been as you say chipped away.
Thanks again.
Stay safe.
Thanks, glad my experience has helped. As you say it’s probably quite common.
Stay safe and hope you enjoy the channel.
Great video! Sorry you had such a bad experience with the police... I think your wife handled it really well! You have a gem there! Keep up the good work! I don't hide it when I go to the range or hunting, and thankfully, I haven't had any issues with the neighbours.
Thank you and yes she is amazing. I’m done hiding, Karens are going to have to change their behaviour 😁
Thanks for the follow up.
You bet, hope you enjoy the channel.

Haha that’s funny, nice way to use the Police to do a little leg work.
Enjoy the videos and thanks for watching.
I wonder how many times that happens🤔
It's not about firearms, it's control over people! To keep people cowed and in fear. They don't want anyone who may challenge their authority, either intellectualy or physically!!!
There are a lot of anti-gun groups actively petitioning the government.
It's very discouraging to see how many ignorant Americans there are whom whatsoever of their rights according to the wonderful BILL OF RIGHTS! that's in your AMERICAN CONSTITUTION 🇺🇲🇺🇸🇺🇸👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 and rather believe power hungry lefty positions who are destroying your beautiful country and citizens, WHOLESALE!!!

That’s the whole reason I did it. Hope you enjoy the channel.
Love it😜
Runkle has a video on the exact subject of carrying a firearm in a container designed to conceal what it is, such as a guitar case. The Cliff Notes of that video were that it’s almost certainly illegal for you to do that.
Yup, I knew. There was a reason it sounded sketchy. 😅
@@theguywithbeardgunsandgear Good on you for being smart about your business. I’m also glad you are taking the comments on being more skeptical of government agents and especially cops on board.

I admire your refusal to comply with social pressure going forward. I am not a gun owner but I have decided "in the last 8 years" to adopt the same attitude to most if not all of the Canadian far-left's DEI/social engineering insanity.
And to paraphrase one of the cop watch videos I've seen : "police are never gathering exculpatory evidence. They are gathering evidence to convict you".
Thank you for your support, whether a gun owner or not this kind of overwatch and control is acary.
I have be hunting, I know how to handle a weapon since I was a kid. I found the gun laws here in Canada does help to a small point but it hurts the honest person that to not have a criminal record. A criminal if he or she wants a weapon they will got it for a price. I know people that I can buy a weapon from for a price. I donot have a criminal record but I’m a retired army reservist that have been trained on various of firearms and weapons. God bless and stay safe. 1 thing if I could say pls go and learn ur rights not only for firearms but ur personal rights u have in ur country. Lots of love from Canada 🇨🇦

Truly humbling, we have such an amazing community.
Thank you for the support.
There are a lot of us that operate very similar to our brothers to the south. We love our outdoors and our beautiful sport. We just want the government to leave us alone. 😃
I agree I walk out of my three or four rifles and bring them to my truck lol but I live in a small town and I can walk to my local gun store with my gun in hand if I have questions or need help with its functions.
Yeah we can’t do that here, gun must be appropriately cased and secured but…as I said I’m not hiding.
Thanks for the update.
You bet, I figured with all the questions it would be prudent. Hoping people learned as I have what to do if god forbid it happens.

Yeah times really have changed and not for the better I might add
I’ve said before KARENS are everywhere. So many similar stories, it could have been a worse outcome for….nothing.
Thank you, be safe
Thank you for the update. Please don't use "Weapon" to replace "Firearm". The current government, Anti gun groups and the media routinely use "Weapon" to convince the uneducated public that banning our firearms will reduce crime. In Canada we have Firearms Legislation. Weapon is defined in the Criminal Code. Licensed, vetted and trained firearms owners dont use the firearms they own as weapons.
Old Army habit, it’s hard to break but yes you are 100% correct.
@@theguywithbeardgunsandgear
I was in the military for 34 years.
They use the word because they are either uneducated or are trying to establish or build on a narrative that supports banning firearms.
Again, Well Done.
@@manuelrodrigues3718oh the Media is well aware of the words they are using and how to use them, that is their “weapon”.

The Canadian supreme court ruled long ago that firearms are to be technically considered as "weapons", unlike any other tool.

My father passed away May last year.
He had some hand guns that this new bill stopped me from getter them.
The two police officers that came to pick them up said to me that they know is not” us” that is the problem. And that I was doing the right thing handing them in. They asked me what am I going to do with the rifles and shotguns, I said I’m keeping them. The police officers said good for you. Keep them. You could tell they didn’t want to be there taking the hand guns
Yeah I’m pretty sure most of the police do not want to be doing that part of the “job” glad you got to keep at least some of those memories.
Exactly.
Wow, never thought of that but yes, it’s possible if they really want to get in, they will.
Amen brother, we absolutely deserve to enjoy our sport in piece. 👍👍👍👍
Before going to his house, they should have instead to get details of that conversation the school overheard. Once they confirmed that no weird words were mentioned, they should have stopped there
Agreed, it was a slight overreaction 😆
Haha , yeah , sure. They will never do that.
I had a false DV accusations on me , non of those guys was willing to use common sense and take a closer look. They basically wrapped it up and sent me on ky way thru court system, and only when it became apparent that when we get to trial, someone will be on the hook for false accusations - crown magically withdraw the case, and send it to the dumpster.
I'm very lucky with my neighbors, they are well aware of me having a firearms, and couldn't care less.

The government must go thru changes. We must be free.
We need to change the government.
We will be there soon my friend if the lawmakers continue to “solve” crime by imposing ridiculous laws on law abiding citizens. 🤷♂️
100% we have privileges, that can easily be removed.
Good luck with the future we are watching from the north🤔
There is a problem with a system where you are held to account by laws that you are unable to interpret and that are applied selectively. These same laws being made by a select group of self interested parties, that we really have no say in who they are, apart from selecting the local stooge, who must vote as directed by the party whips.
Yeah it’s a complicated system to say the least. Next time I’ll leave the big thinking to the lawyers.
Take care.
Does the Canadian Shooting Sports Association ever provide citizens/members legal assistance? Most Americans I know are as concerned about firearm rights and what happens in Canada as they are worried about what happens here in the USA.

Indeed
I think these scenarios are playing out a lot.
Glad it worked out, he’s lucky he got that officer too.

Attended High School in Ontario in the mid '70s. Found out it was originally built in 1925 with an indoor range. No one remembered when the range stopped being used but in the mid 70s it was converted to a weight room. Just shows how priorities change.
@@bigbob4621my uncle grew up in rural NB and he told me the high school had a shooting range, can you imagine.
We have changed so much 😢
Silence is golden and so is Patriot resolve.
👍
I couldn't live in Canada without freedom. I love freedom and always have a firearm on me wherever I go. The Canadian citizens allowed this to happen just like Australia, New Zealand, etc.
Oh yeah slowly chipping away over the last 8 years. I hope people (even the diehard) supporters have finally opened their eyes.
@@theguywithbeardgunsandgear we have more pewpews here than there are people and if the government tried doing what Canada, Australia, and the others did I think it would start a civil war. There will always be the fake patriots that comply but the majority will say F-you come try to take them. It will get bad quick for the tyrants. 😄😄
Where do you live? Not a city unless you wish to include it, but province and the police force involved? I have shown this to a friend, ex RCMP inspector and he is very interested in this story
I live in Quebec and it was the provincial police….a lot of lessons learned from this experience.
Its illegal to carrier your gun in a guitar case in canada..
Yeah I would think so it sounded sketchy very mafia like😅
It's sad i really wanted to pimp out a couple hand guns and really want a benelli m4 hope they don't ban them just remember we can own black powder guns with no license witch is pretty cool
Yeah unless we have a change in government we’ll end up with small rocks and blunt sticks.
Ont. is with you. Our thoughts and praters are with you.
Appreciate it, moved from rural Ont to here…probably moving back as soon as possible. 😊
😅 next question your neighbors gonna ask, "How do I go about getting my PAL?"
Maybe I’ll start giving classes 🙂
Our media has been vilifying our sport for years now and you can see the effects.
I’m sure you mentioned this, and maybe you don’t want to and I get it, but which province was this? And I guess you dealt with city police? Or RCs/OPP?
It was Quebec, regional. They were ok but very curious 😂
There is no reason for you to hide ever. So what you've got firearms, as an Albertan myself I too have firearms so does my nephew. Born and raised by parents who came from the good old farming background. Proud of you for what you did do and how your family handled the entire situation.
As an Ontarian everyone here is afraid. My friends 12 year old doesn't even know his dad has firearms. He is so afraid something like this will happen. Sad but true, ontarrible is hell for licensed gun owners. Unfortunately It's open season for criminals they have no problems whatsoever.
Thank you things are a bit different out west, in a very good way.
Maybe if enough of us rebel against the Karens they’ll give up🙏
I have an amazing family
Yeah we live in a weird world, like you said…criminals no problem.
We haven’t done anything wrong to be so openly vilified.
We need a change 🙏
Be well and stay safe
Best wishes to you, my friend!!
Same to you! Appreciate the support hope you enjoy the channel.
Thanks for the info man, makes me wanna be more vigilant.
Absolutely, I think it’s going to be more common as time marches on.
I am learning, is a 'karen' in your common parlance a "snitch"? We call them 'snitches' in our region. Thank you. Strength! GODspeed!
They are likely snitches as well, they also have an inflated vision of their own importance. They can’t mind their business and have a false sense of entitlement.
Thank you😊
If you are in the dwelling the firearms are not “in storage” they are under your care and control.
That is true, what a coincidence officer I was just cleaning and maintaining all of my firearms 😂
We do actually have a constitution. It isn't clean like the US constitution, but by technicality do have one.
I guess I should have said, I wish we had a constitution that was as well protected and not subject to change on a whim🤔
@@slowjamsliver7006well said, “shall not be infringed” is powerful speech.
Great breakdown of what we have to deal with.
Glad it was helpful!, hope it helps god forbid, I know I learned a lot.
You have a point there🤔, we’re not even free to enjoy a legal sport.
We are told here in the United States that if you want to know What the government is up to next watch what's going on in Canada. So I have been following your story and a RUclipsr Countryside acers. This man and his family were farmers in Canada had to move to Russia Because it's more cost-effective to farm there.
Wow yeah I think you guys are in for a fight, at least you have a constitution.
Ours was cast in jello I think😃
I'm a bit late on this one. Great follow up! I would like to encourage you, and the community, to not refer to shooting as a hobby. Instead, refer to it as a discipline.
Responsible handling, owning, or studying firearms is exactly that.
Good point, it does really take a long time to learn.
I thought you were going to tell your neighbour that you'd be going to their place during an apocalypse to check up on them and make sure they were okay... I guess I just haven't watched enough zombie movies lol.
Yeah, that’s it I’ll check on all the neighbours🤣🤣🤣
