@@cag2102 I like the plates, easy to line up crosshairs, the white makes more of a contrast. It wouldn’t have helped, there was so much slop in the recoil lug. I fixed it with a DIY bedding but man it was frustrating. I think the next step will be investing in a better scope.
Sorry you had issues. I just bought a30-06 wilderness sierra and shot over the weekend. I was pleased when my final 3shot group was my elk rounds and holes all touched
@@cag2102 yeah that’s awesome. Sometimes the rifles are a bit fussy on weight and charge. I’ve got it figured out now with some 147gr but a nicer scope would help….dear Santa🤔

@@joeeigo144crystal wow, this seems to be an all to common occurrence.
@ with all the damages done including being separated from my five year old son for now 2 years it’s backwards to even speak about fire arms in this libtarded country now.
@ alberta may seem to be the only safe haven for fire arms owners in the future. The rcmp did raid everyone at high river in 2013 seizing everything.
300 win mag in a short barrel semi auto? No use whatsoever, 308 win with 22 inch barrel bolt rifle has the same energy...300 is just not the right caliber for semi auto in a short barrel
@RodjoTheHunter .308 is a great cartridge for big game. I’m not sure the powder gets a chance to burn completely in this rig.
A guy in Alberta offed an intruder. No charges were laid.

Don't trust the pigs
@@91cobra50 I learned a lot.
They don't even have to have a credible threat. All someone has to lie to the pigs. It happened to me. The prick forced his way in when I refused to sign for a delivery. I couldn't hold him back because he weighed in at atleast 300# and just was released from hospital because of a heart attack. It cost me around 25k and i still haven't received my firearms back yet. The hearing for that is in January.
@@91cobra50 good lord, hopefully it works out for you. You’re not alone there are many similar stories.

@@josh2711 oh, lots of trauma going on where that cartridge impacts.

@@40s9s3 a much better cartridge, he’s not mine btw. 😁
Check muzzle brake to make sure it's at least .30 thousandths over size they put wrong one on some rifles
@@ronnieammons875 one of the first things I checked, i had heard that. It’s fixed now and had a lot to do with the extra slop in the recoil lug area.
Nah that’s perfect and with a BAR you’ll get that oh so important whitetail second and third shot in with the 300 mag. Consider an extended mag and a bump stock.
@@SpringerOwl haha yeah man why waste time at the butcher when you can make hamburger in the trail😆
Nope
@@deerhunter7482 interesting, I’d say it’s 30/70 the majority thinking 300 is too much.

Too much? Better a shade “too much” than a wounded deer cavorting the landscape!
@@dangeary2134 I understand the “you can’t kill them too much” attitude but I’m thinking something between .223 and 300 win mag.
My main caliber is 7 mm mag 110 grain bullet it’s a tac driver
@@AnthonyJohnston-up3lk that’s a lot of energy but a 110 grain would temper that.

I have two 783 mine shoot good. I got the 783 heavy contour in 6.5 creed and it shoots .5 to 1 moa with most ammo. my 308 783 is like yours it shoots vary good with norma, 150 ammo around one inch. i think you guys got a bad one. thanks for the vid.
@@homeinthewoods957 by any chance is yours a pre bankruptcy production, they used to be really good. 😢
I don't think so I bought them in the last two years.
@@homeinthewoods957 generally I’ve found that those synthetic stock models are more likely to shoot poorly than the wood stock (synthetic stock is thin and flimsy, larger calibres suffer coupled with the pencil thin barrel). We did “fix” the stock flex but it took a lot of bedding material to fill those voids. Glad you managed to get a couple of good shooters.
All the fancy stabilizers 😂😂😂throw me down. A sandbag or equivalent n I'm good to go
@@leviketcher4409 well I mean if there’s one available while you’re zeroing you wouldn’t use it?
Fine tuning?? To much for deer??😂😂😂😂. Listen, did you know the further the shoot. Less energy on the target. And there taking "DEER" at and over 800 yards now. That's a half a mile. So no it's not to much

@@Carsonktm420 locks in the firearm to remove as much of the human error possible, great for getting a precise zero or testing accuracy of hand loads.

@@Carsonktm420 hard to go hunting lugging around a 50 pound sled through the bush.
Nice one man
It is a beautiful firearm that my brother put some money into to make it a show piece. Not overly practical I mean what are you gonna hunt with that?😅
Honest question. I’ve been shooting all of my life, but leadsleds aren’t very common to see someone using wher I live. Outside of a really precise zero, why do people use leadsleds when shooting?
@@CR-jt5pv there aren’t really many good reasons to use one outside of a zero. I’ve used one when I’m testing loads and trying to measure accuracy precisely. I’ve seen quite a few people use one as a crutch when grouping, not a fair measure of one’s own skill🤷♂️
The 300 win mag is good for muleys at 250yrds or better any closer and it's to fast
@@Donald-g3r that’s what I was thinking as well, good for long range but too much energy up close. 😁
God the way bro jerked that trigger 💀
Took a long time for me to get some 3/4 at 100 with five shot groups each round hand done individually every round exactly the same three shot Eclipse rounds at 100 yds is easy
Every rifle I own fires sub 3/4 inch at 100 with five shot group
@@jamesfellbaum5641 that’s impressive.
You do what you guys want but I’d recommend shooting your rifle on bags and bipod not in a lead sled. One it’s terrible on your optics and rifle. Two it makes you a better shooter to shoot and get use to recoil instead of always having something to absorb it.
@@EasternMountainHunters we normally only use the led sled for zeroing, 100% agree for bags and bipod.
@ I don’t like to use them for zeroing either but that is just personal preference. They say it won’t shoot the same in the sled vs you holding it. I don’t know cause I’ve never tried!
@@EasternMountainHunters maybe with semi auto, I can see how that might interfere with the action. I’ve zeroed quite a few rifles using the sled and it’s always dead on after.
