As a woman I appreciate that Blaire’s perspective. I have been a woman since birth. Blaire acknowledges that she is a biological male who has taken the necessary steps to transition so that she can live her life in a way that feels more aligned with what her brain tells her she is. I can accept that, and respect her for it. She also respects that our journey through the world of being female has been very different. She is not an expert on being a woman, but she is an expert on being a transwoman. This is my take away after obsessively watching her vids. It makes sense.

Megan Gallagher biology doesn’t even teach this stuff anymore. I’m in biology this semester and they’ve taught me about animals and climate. @@riverstevens9434, in 6th grade maybe around 89' they separated the girls from the boys one day and both groups had to watch a projector about how our bodies were gonna change and everybody got deoderent but the girls got more stuff and the boys were jealous and the girls were like don't be, lol We were all so traumatized they let us go outside and play the rest of the day. I did have about a semester of sex ed, too from a male gym teacher. This kid was so slow reading the words that everyone would groan when it was his turn to read. I remember the gym teacher trying to keep a straight face when I yelled to the kid "It's not pronounced like tennis!" I'm from New England, it is a more open minded place!

@@areallyboredguy5825 Intersex conditions do not make a sexual dichotomy invalid. Sex isn't on a spectrum just because some people are intersex. Being intersex is a medical condition. It causes hormone issues, infertility, and as well as other health concerns, not to mention the psychological impacts. The intersex condition occurs when there is improper separation of chromosomes. We are meant to be either male or female biologically. Gender is one thing, I don't care how you choose to present yourself, but the body isn't built to be intersex, it's really hard on the body.

In a discussion on gender and gender roles it is reasonable to say that gender is on a spectrum, because it is. Most of these non-binaries and teens aren't open to a conversation or debate that disagrees with them because it may hurt their precious feelings. Secondly, if they were so comfortable with their gender they wouldn't be making up bullshit genders just to fit in their perceptions of gender norms and their emotions. Most of the people (an overwhelming majority) that identify with those labels of gender are young (teens or in their 20s) biologically females that don't want to conform to the gender norms, probably because subconciously they perceive femininity and being a female as being "inferior" or don't feel like they fit in, or want to fit in the LGBT community. They don't even have gender dysphoria or gender identity disorder like Blaire does, they just dress differently and bother you with their special pronouns.

I am in no way perfectly feminine as a girl, and I'm fine with that. I can love my combat training, and still like putting on makeup and the occasional dress. Just because a man is not perfectly masculine or a woman is not perfectly feminine does not mean that biological sex doesn't exist.

There is thing called 'definition of words' that actualy means 'things that words are adressing'. Word 'woman' means 'human being with vagina, ovaries and uterus' and word 'man' means 'human being with penis and testicles'. That's simply meaning of those words, why is that so hard to accept?

@ilderogtyde Yes some women do get hysterectomies for medical reasons but there are risks associated with major surgery and it is not elective without a medical reason. In any case, hysterectomies can have side effects including early menopause, another lovely woman-problem that biological men and trans women will never have to endure. Not to mention annual mammograms, a higher proclivity for autoimmune diseases and chronic illnesses like fibromyalgia. But men have their issues too: prostate screenings, and oftentimes earlier death. Would I prefer to wake up with man parts and anatomy given all the pains and issues a woman has to endure? Nope.

@ilderogtyde I think if I could be male for just ONE day it would be fascinating and satisfy an intellectual curiosity but that's about it. Being female is no better or worse than being me-- we have exceptional abilities and differences. But even great things come at a price; for example being rich and famous is a common dream for folks, but the reality comes with a ton of additional responsibilities and even problems it is easy to say can be handled, but many people are not emotionally or psychologically equipped to handle it. My point was simply that I do think that if becoming a woman was more than simply superficially cosmetic in nature, how many trans people would actually go through with transitioning?

but there is nothing like "trans woman" that does not exist, she will never be a woman no matter how many surgeries she does or how she is perceived, if she had gender dysphoria it is because gender prevails in society. If she had been born on an island far from society without knowing what gender was, she would never have felt uncomfortable. Discomfort, that dysmorphia, is born from a society that divides genders with their respective roles and stereotypes. But if we remove gender from society, and only sex prevails, which is a reality, dysmorphia would never arise again.
