- Today I am looking at the original Eagle Eye Mysteries. These crimes aren't gonna solve themselves so let's hire some young people to do it.

15:12 "He looks like he's been trampled on by... life."
_"Brilliant_ deduction, Miss Holmes. What gave it away? The fact that I'm a felon who escaped from prison, turned back to high-profile crimes a day later, and was captured almost _immediately?_ The fact that my badass underworld nickname is _'Froggy'?_ Or did you and Watson over there just happen to meet my mother in the Psych Ward down at Our Lady of Prompt Succor? Oh wait, you _couldn't_ have met _my_ mother; you've still got _both your ears."_
"Yup! Two corpses, everything's fine!"
I really need to watch Clue again, I'd forgotten how much I love that line. 😂
“Three murders.”
“Six altogether.”
“This is getting serious.”
I loled at that clip. Clue is one of my very fave faves
“Is there or isn’t there anyone else in the house, yes or no?”
@@flee4342
"Nn-mm...no."
"No there IS or no there ISN'T??"
"Yes!" 😅
AHHHHH A Shelby Woo shoutout! I thought everyone had forgotten that show. Glad someone else appreciated it, if even a little.
2:16 that card shop looks EXACTLY like a place I used to go into called Mel's. He was a retired sheriff in town, and just the nicest guy. I always loved running into his stand at flea markets also. Such good memories. I'll never forget when Pokemon cards became a thing, and me and my friend Shawn couldn't even get inside the store.
Please PLEASE, do an episode of the Mystery Files of Shelby Woo!!! Omg. I have completely forgotten about that show!!! I haven’t thought of it since you mentioned it right now. Holy crap my childhood just came rushing back to my head. Lol
ItzellaLuna yes I totally forgot about that show until I watched this episode! Would love to watch that also! 💯😍🥰🎖
I would LOVE a video of you playing one of the Nancy Drew PC games by Her Interactive!
yes, please!
I helped my ex-girlfriend finish The White Wolf of Icicle Creek.
"Yup, two corpses. Everything's fine."
just. perfection.
GHOST WRITER!!!!!!!
That's so awesome, you mentioned that show. I loved that show as a kid. I wanted to be there in that show with those crime solving kids. It was the most awesome thing I've ever seen!!!
The background art is gorgeous, for a kids game they put a lot of care and talent into this title.
All I can hear now "Macavity! Macacity! There's no one like Macavity!" From Cats!
T.S Elliot no less
haha all I could think about .. should have cut in a clip from the song for sure.
@@Piper7865 probably was afraid of a copyright strike. We live in dark times on the youtubes
We always played those Nancy Drew PC games. They were distributed by herinteractive. I was actually really sad when they stopped making them. I’ve played them all.
New one coming out this year! 🙌
My Gal the Zombie FX That would be AWESOME!!
You finally mentioned Ghostwriter! I really hope you do a review on that awesome kid show! It’s the most forgotten teen mystery show, there’s no complete DVD release of the show, they only had the first season and it’s been out of print.
The cliffhanger when they were infiltrating the gang and the guy had to guess what his gang name was or whatever the hell it was ..,
The Fonz the Thabto guys? The gang that were wearing masks.
"all the kids think Mark is cool now that he's found a skeleton!" well yeah, I mean that basically makes you a rockstar at twelve.
Huh! In Canada, back in '89-'90 we had 'Deke Wilson's Mini Mysteries' which has basically the same sort of premise as this game with a kid solving mundane mysteries by being pretty darn clever... but there was usually no real criminals involved.
Happy Birthday Roses! Great video, thank you so much!
3:52 I think that's supposed to be an inflatable globe, I had one too as a kid, though I don't remember how big it was.
god, i always love just, absolutely *wild* mystery stuff. just let it go crazy off the wall and make me try and figure out what the hell is happening. slap an ace attorney game in front of me and no matter how many times ive played that trial i will have forgotten details that are so fucking crazy that i cant believe i ever forgot them.
i know thats not really what this game is like but the characters in this gave me strong aa vibes. i mean? stay away from my bean plants....
"Trampled on by... life"- okay, that made me laugh waaaaayyyyy too much!
Yayyy another Mystery video!
A video on Contradiction? :)
There's one on my channel!
@@pushinguproses oh thanks!!
@@pushinguprosesI thought that was you that reviewed it! Otherwise I would have thought it was maybe brutalmoose.
YOUR BIRB IS SO ADORABLE!! ADORABIRB!!!
Uh... I mean.... Yes.... Video.... With content...
EDIT: Okay... Adding some relevant comment on this, where do you stand on Ace Attorney?
Greg DeAndrea oooh that’s a good one! I haven’t played the game but I know there’s a huge fan base for it and I assume PUR would love it based on this video. I love the anime.
I feel like she never replies comments, it's annoying
@@Myllkka it's part pf her 'cool club' demeanour
Birdorable
If you haven't already played it, I think you'd really like the Ace Attorney series.
THE GEEK CLUB came here to say the same
@@friend_xtrano you did not
I agree!
@Phoenix Downer Yeah, totally! 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors is awesome if you haven’t played it yet! One of my favorite games.
Your videos on mystery games/media are always a lot of fun, because your love for them is so infectious!
My parents have always really liked watching mystery TV series, and I never thought I'd like it too. But after finding your channel and being sort of "introduced" to what people can find appealing about mystery media, I've become interested what my parents watch and it's become something we can bond over a bit? So thank you for these unexpected benefits!
Thank you for spotlighting this - it was one of my favorites as a kid. I wish some indie studio would create something based on it's tone and format, to allow us jaded adults to relive that feeling a little while.
I gotta say, one of my favorite things about your video style is how you'll just throw in little funny but ultimately unrelated clips here and there because something reminds you of it (case in point: 10:10), because it's EXACTLY how my brain works.
There are very few constants in my life that inspire joy, but one of the more recent and certainly more definite ones is receiving a notification about a new PushingUpRoses video.
I love that you make Murder She Wrote videos. I know a lot of people who haven't seen Murder She Wrote before. I believe that there was a missed opportunity for an episode of Murder She Wrote, the voice cast of Beauty and the Beast guest starring on the show.
I'm massively nostalgic for these games. To the point I was thinking about making a half-tongue-in-cheek 'darker' sequel in AGS where they've grown up and apart - Jake's still trying to 'solve mysteries' as an investigative reporter for the Richview newspaper, but Jennifer's gotten herself a 'real job' at a law firm. Then Jake goes missing in the middle of a sensitive investigation and Jennifer is convinced it's a kidnapping so takes up her TRAVIS again.
As you say, it feels like nobody remembers them at all, so an ambitious fan project like that wouldn't really make much sense..
Thank you for making a video about these games! No one ever remembers them when I talk about them, and Eagle Eye Mysteries in London was my favorite PC game when I was in elementary school.
Thank you for posting this. I have been trying to recall this game for YEARS. I swear I had it on a Humongous demo disc but could never source it and thought all was lost.
Are you as excited as I am?!
Uh, by the sound of it, no. 😆😆😆
Yay, another game video! Your Murder, She Wrote videos are well-made, and clearly enjoyable, but I'm glad to see you haven't abandoned game vids altogether. Kudos!
Loved the shout out the soundblaster! ahh the memories! Thank you!
You educate me about a genre I never had any interest in playing myself after being too mystified to make it anywhere in Myst. I love your videos though, and I can see why the genre exists through your appreciation of it. I just am addicted to enemy and combat based gaming, even RPGs are a stretch for me and puzzle games are an extreme rarity. In gaming, I hate trying to figure out what to do, I just want to be active and make progress and have fun. I'm okay with that, and it's a testament to your skill at presentation and your personality and sense of humor that I'm addicted to your channel, for the games you love are the antithesis of the games I love.
this channel is so comfy. thank you for making me feel so at home
"He's 32, but looks ancient!" Relatable. Oh, so sadly relatable.
OMG this game was my favourite as a kid! I got it bundled with Peter Pan: A Story Painting Adventure, it may have even came with the soundcard?? Regardless I'm so happy I stumbled across it back then :D
Check out the Bloodhound Gang, Encyclopedia Brown, the Double Mcguffin, and Young Sherlock Holmes. They seem to be right up your alley.
Shep
Blasphemy, we all know, that best Mystery games - is Nancy Drew!!!
Another cool video. Your enthusiasm/respect for nostalgic fun always puts a smile on my face.
Not a video game example, but when I was a kid, my favorite of the teen-mystery genre was always the Three Investigators book series. It was like the Hardy Boys for cool kids. Their headquarters was an abandoned trailer in a junkyard, they scammed their way into free rides in a vintage Rolls Royce, and every book ended with them reporting back to Alfred Hitchcock. They ruled. Kinda bummed nobody else has heard of them :(
Your content can sometimes scratch an itch of mine that no one else can and sometimes I didn't even know/remember I had. Also getting excited over miniatures fir the pure fact of miniatures is very relatable too, from Ralph S. Mouse to The Borrowers, to The Indian in the Cupboard. My retirement dream is to have a plot of land to build a miniature city of stone buildings with thatch roofs all populated with rescue cats.
So glad to see you reviewing an older computer game again, especially one that I remember playing A TON growing up!
I really like the Trivia!Roses that pops in from time to time. I put together the Moriarty thing when I saw his name on a map, but you mentioned Macavity I only had a vague connection that the name also appears in Cats. Your videos are always great and have a happy birthday!
Great video as always! As a fan of Mystery you should know (in case you didn't already) that the original Phoenix Wright Trilogy has just recently been re-released on the Switch. I'd love to see your opinion on the series one day. Peace :)
Zany Raccoon and PC and the other major platforms. also, came here to say basically the same.
The graphics in this game are incredible. They remind me of Indiana Jones and The Fate of Atlantis.
This makes me miss the 90s, PUR. I can always count on you for a nostalgia blast--oddly enough, usually timed with when I'm feeling blue. Are you psychic or somethin? Another great vid Roses.
Yay! I love when you do these kind of videos (As well as the MSW ones, of course:P).
There are SOOO many Adventure/Mystery games from back then, So it's really nice to see some of the good ones.
I never got to play any of these fancy games with _speaking_ on our old PC when I was growing up, but boy did I love Snooper Troops. If you haven't played them yet you should absolutely do that and make a video about them; I have such fond memories of writing down notes in a real notebook to solve the mysteries as a kid.
Love your videos! Not only do they entertain, but I find them super soothing for my anxiety as well. I have to ask if you've played the Agatha Christie games, such as my personal favourite (also a favourite book) And Then There Were None? Highly recommend it! Thanks for all your fantastic work! :)
Just stopping by your comments to tell you you're a great person sarah and I love all you're videos. You always make me remember the good ol days. Hope all is well!
This was great! I really enjoyed this and missed your video game coverage lots. I never heard of this series and thanks for introducing me to it. : )
I tried to play an escape room board game, and it was awful.
So, I played a Mystery D&D One offs.
I like a good Mystery, but haven't had a good one in a while
This reminds me that I absolutely loved the A to Z Mysteries series when I was super young. I still enjoy going back and zipping through them!
Yay a new video ^.^ you're my favorite RUclipsr right now, all your videos are so informative, nostalgic and spark great questions, Also good to see a oldschool gamer review point and click adventure games. I'm currently playing through Kings Quest 7 rn and having a good time. Keep up the awesome work PUR, also I look forward to Halloween this year, I hope you make another spooky video for the occasion :)
I would download these on my Switch in a heartbeat. Awesome video!
Yes! This is one of best mystery solving games I’ve played occasionally back then. The game itself were bundled with Sound Blaster 16 package along with other EA Kids games. Kinda sux there’s only 2 series of this. Your review on these really nailed my whole experience. :D
I love mystery games too! For me the game that started it all was Nancy Drew games by herinteractive. So much fun =)
Oh my god, I am so excited to see this game again!!! I loved this game so so so much!!! Your channel is my childhood, thank you for always bringing me back!!! ❤️
I really, really, REALLY hope you played the Nancy Drew Mystery series. If you did, PLEASE share you’re thoughts and memories
The Last Express
Thought you said Ghost Rider at first. I would be so in for a GR mystery game with demons and superheroes
Maybe we could watch this RUclips video in the Library.
Well, at 33, I still play both Eagle Eye games at least once a year and the thought never occurred to me that it was silly of me to do so as an adult... until you backhandedly pointed it out three times in this video.
Ahhh this definitely gives me a great 90s nostalgia vibe even though I'd never seen this series before. I love it!
Hooray, a mystery game video! Happy belated birthday, Roses!
EEM look fun, I should give em a whirl. I've missed you talking about old computer games, it's as sweet as water when I haven't had it in awhile. Unfortunately your movie/TV reviews don't hook me so easily, but I'll watch the odd one as I hope for another Sierra retrospective - or I might rewatch your old videos. Cheers!
Oh dude! When I was younger, my sister and I played the Nancy Drew games and I still buy newer ones to play them. They are super comforting to me, like these games, except all the times you could die unexpectedly. In the Haunted Carousal one, you can go UNDER the carousal and get CRUSHED to death.
havent even finished the video yet but YES a shoutout to detective barbie! mystery of the carnival caper is literally my favorite childhood game and ive been wanting to play it again for so long. that soundtrack really does slap...
"There would be no murder she wrote videos on this channel"
The heck you say
Awesome video Roses, and happy birthday!
I love when Roses puts Clue clips. Clue is one of my favorite movies!
I loved that game so much as a kid/early teenager! I think my copy must have gotten damaged at some point, because we got rid of it, and it's been so long since I've seen it, or anything about it, I was beginning to think I made it up. Thank you for uploading this!
Huge YES to Mystery Files of Shelby Woo. No one I know remembers that show
I got these games on one of those 50-games-on-one-CD packages as a kid. I loved em!
02:34 - "Clint!" :D
Excellent as always Roses. Love your videos. I've been wondering, have you ever played Kingdom: The Far Reaches/Thayer's Quest? If so, I'd love to see your take on them. If not, I'd love to see you play them for the first time.
I absolutely loved the Eagle Eye Mysteries games when I was a kid, I have no idea how many times I played through both of them. And yet somehow I never got into mystery games.
I miss these games so much. They were engaging and held my attention. I wish I could find a way to play them again.
This was one of my first talkie video game series, too! I got In London in a bundle of kids mac games when I was little and played it a ton. You know, Roses, you could still become a real detective. iPads can do a lot of what that device could do, albeit without that 90's charm.
Your list of tween mystery shows just hit me like a wall. THE NOSTALGIA!
PS Have you played the Frogwares Sherlock Holmes series?
Please do a retrospective on Ghost Writer. I would adore it.
I got interested in these years ago when you played it. Now there some of my favourite mystery games. You ever play the famous five ones.
And wow shelby woo not heard that name in years 😂
I missed these types of videos your channels awesome!
I wish we'd gotten another Contradiction game.
Also WOW, that's a deep seated reference with Macavity there, not even a "wink/nod"reference, but pretty blatant with his desire to make Scotland Yard to look like nobs
Oh wow, I super loved this game back in the day!
This video touched on so many things that I've loved. I'd love to see a video on Ghostwriter, or the sad fall of Her Entertainment.
I can't begin to tell you how happy it makes me when I see you've posted a video.
😁
A new PUR can make a bad day great and a great day greater.
Nice to see you reviewing games again, Roses! I'm bit older and grew up on the Encyclopedia Brown books...which these games remind me of quite a bit. Where there any video games that featured Ol' EB?
I JUST LOVE YOUR CHANNEL
You really need to look into Japanese mystery franchises, such as Detective Conan, Ace Attorney, and Danganronpa
This, this and this.
Ace Attorney doesn’t hardly qualify as a mystery. Even if you figured it out, Moon logic says you have to present the evidence first and in a certain way or it’s wrong. Ace attorney is better categorized as a parody of the Japanese court system where you’re guilty until innocent.
@@TowelRanger You couldn't be more wrong
I'm always very happy about your posts. Keep going, eh? :)
Finding out that we have that same birthday has been the BEST thing about my whole day!! Happy Birthday Roses!!!
Last year saw the release of an amazing and immersive mystery table top game called Detective: a modern crime board game. In it, you and a team of up to 4 players work togther to solve 5 cases that connect into a larger story. The game is played on cards and a small board, but also ultizing an internet database filled with (fake) criminal records, fingerprint info, material info, DNA, etc. Highly recommended!
The unknown bank robbery victim was shot with a .44 at point blank range, and the results were akin to a tomato exploding.
“Hey gang, we need an anatomy book to put them back together. Let’s go to the library!”
I enjoy your videos! I live mysteries and grew up with only a PC ti play games on, so your material brings a lot of happy memories😊
I'm curious-have you ever played any of the Nancy Drew PC games by HER Interactive? They are pretty fun and have some legitimately tough puzzles and some good plotlines 😁
Thank you for another great look at a lovable old game, PUR! :)
"Are you as excited as I am?" Awesome.
I kept waiting for Mr Green to start yelling: "Gordon? GORDON!"
This game takes me right back to my childhood...so many hours spent on this one! Made me feel like a real detective!
I loved Eagle Eye Mysteries growing up! I had it on a dual disk that also had Peter Pan's: A Story Painting Adventure!
