Chopped up pretzels would be great on it. You can also have someone cut up the nuts on the side, and people can put them on top if they want them. There's even a pretzel strawberry Jell-O recipe that I've always wanted to make and have not.

I have made this for years and just found this recipe. However, I have always drained my crushed pineapple very well. I'm surprised it gels up firm enough when the pineapple is not drained. The only problem I have bringing this to a church potluck or any other group dinner is that people can't figure out if it's a side or dessert! FAVORITE, FAVORITE recipe - if you take it anywhere, the second someone tries it, you won't bring any back home! I make the jello part the night before and the topping the next day. I also set out the cream cheese so there are no lumps and I only use 1/4 C sugar in the topping bc the jello below is so sweet.

I just literally made this exact recipe Saturday and it was delicious! Only difference is that my recipe said to drain the canned pineapple. I do this with cherry pie filling. Just the first part with the Jell-O and the pie filling and leave it in the bowl. We use that instead of cranberry sauce at Thanksgiving because nobody likes cranberry sauce but the cherry stuff is really good
Oh this reminds me so much of a salad my mom used to make called Purple Lady Salad. It was a gelatin salad with a jello with bluberries in the bottom and the topping was cream cheese, crushed pineapple and i believe some lemon gelatin in the top part. The recipe is long gone .. I"ve searched the internet high and low for it and never been able to find it but this is close to it and I"m going to be making it.. thank you so much!!

I couldn’t find grape jello in Canada, so I used cherry. It tastes just great! Here, we call a pie with a mixture of berry fruits, bumbleberry pie and that’s what it tastes like to me. Thanks for another tasty recipe❤
My late mother used to make something very similar to this except she used cherry Jell-O and cherry pie filling and she'd serve it with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. She'd also put a graham cracker layer on the bottom (that used a stick of butter!) and sprinkle graham cracker crumbs on the top. I think that there are probably lots of ways that folks can customize this to whatever flavors they like! Wonderful recipe! Thanks for sharing!

My ex-sister-in-law gave me the recipe about 30 years ago and I lost it over the years from moving I guess and we lost touch a few years ago. I was going to look it up and kept forgetting about it or I'd be away from the house or busy. I also wasn't sure of the name anymore, but I was thinking it was Blueberry Salad. Then I saw your video pop up on my phone notifications and I saw it and I was like no way!! So a big thank you for helping me with this craving I have been having for years!! I will be making it soon! I do have a question, my daughter-in-law hates pineapples, is there anything else I could use or maybe just double blueberry pie filling? I will be making the original soon. Miss MeMe, I was thinking about this recipe not to long ago. My ex-sister-in-law gave me the recipe about 30 years ago and I lost it over the years from moving I guess and we lost touch a few years ago. I was going to look it up and kept forgetting about it or I'd be away from the house or busy. I also wasn't sure of the name anymore, but I was thinking it was Blueberry Salad. Then I saw your video pop up on my phone notifications and I saw it and I was like no way!! So a big thank you for helping me with this craving I have been having for years!! I will be making it soon! I do have a question, my daughter-in-law hates pineapples, is there anything else I could use or maybe just double blueberry pie filling? I will be making the original soon. I will try to make one without pineapples for the holidays and save the good stuff for me lol! Hope you have a blessed week! P.S. If we ever get caught up, I'm gonna get one of your books. Hopefully it will be sooner then later. I had some health problems back in Oct with my heart and blood pressure, I am doing better these day. But going to the doc when I never went before, takes away from our funds each month and adjusting monthly expenses. We are getting there!
