Oh Meme 😭 Thank you for making this dessert. I just lost my mom, we had her funeral last Thursday. My mom would make this dessert for every family meal. It brought back so many memories. God bless you meme❤

I've made this for years since I got the recipe back in 1970! I only use the cherry pie filling and I put chopped pecans on the top after adding the butter! It is divine with vanilla ice cream!!

Cherry anything and I come running! We had a huge cherry tree in our yard when I was growing up. Every summer we fought the robins to pick enough for pies and crisps. Pitting those cherries was Grandmas job and she occasionally missed a pit or two…she said a pit improved the flavor!! It must have been true because I haven’t had a pie as tasty in 60 years. SFJ 😊

I just love your videos! You remind me so much of my Mother and Grandmothers! My family lives just a few miles west of Augusta and I heard you mention Augusta on a video. And my Daddy graduated from Clemson when I was in church kindergarten in 1968! We lived in Greenville at that time. Anyway you make me smile, laugh, giggle, you are just amazing with your tips and your wonderful cooking talents! You are also very comforting and I love how at the end you remind us to shine for Jesus! Thank you, and please keep making these videos! I think I’ve gone back and watched them all now. I love cherry pie and old-fashioned Sherry pudding cake that’s delicious too with whipped cream on top of it. Heated up after you fix it. It’s a real old-fashioned recipe. It’s real easy.

I am in my 70s and have never thought to use box cake in this fashion. Learn a new everyday. Off to the store to buy the cake mix and give this a go.

This crumble looks fantastic! I bet it was delicious too. You mentioned cherry Pie and I had to giggle: My late Mother in Law (who definitely shined for Jesus) loved Cherry Pie. One year for Mother's Day, wanting to make her favorite I accidentally picked up a can of apple pie filling with the can of cherry filling in the grocery. "I wonder if she'll notice," I asked my Hubs when we laughed about it. She absolutely loved the combination, and it's been a tradition on our holiday table ever since. You should try the two fillings in a pie shell sometime!

I am watching you from my bed in the Rehabilitation Hospital in my Nightgown and Sleeping Bonnet 😴 You are very soothing and relaxing to me, especially on my first night here. I am getting my health stabilized and getting strong enough to go the City of Hope Hospital Gynecological and UriGenital Surgical Floor for my surgeries, hopefully in the next few weeks. I will estimate, rent, take my medicine, and walk as much as I can so that I can get stronger. You make it easier for me to relax when I need to be in my bed resting 😴 I Love You Girls Soooo Mych! Love your channel MeMe! Can you tell us how you store your butter (for greasing the pan)? Do you use a crock? I live in hot Southern California, so the idea of room temperature butter is totally foreign.
I’ll leave it out for a little while, but it stays in the fridge mostly.👍🏻😋🙂❤️

We've always used a can of cherries topped with a can of pineapple with juice, then the dry cake mix, butter, & pecans. I suppose u cd use about any canned fruit.

MeMe I always see you use the bottom rack. Is it because you have an electric oven? I have gas. 🤣 So, should I do the opposite? Place the pan on the top rack?

It doesn’t need any sugar, cinnamon or anything in it nutmeg something I’m just asking brown sugar, sugar, some some kind of sugar with the butter even though the cake mix and the cake mix I mean I think it needs I would say it needs some sugar

I made that once awhile. I used canned of peach and added sprinkle of cinnamon and cake mix on top with butter. It’s called peach cobbler 🍑

I don't use oven mitts, either. They're so thick and inflexible. I use potholders, and also a kitchen towel at times.
