She was fantastic, a wonderful voice and a beautiful woman, Thanks Carol for having Eydie on your show. Two great talents of the 60's-70's, Eydie Gorme, and Carol Burnette.
Her voice brings such joy to the moment. Her sound is so incredible 'happy' - upbeat. Even her ballads give you 'hope.' Was one of the all time great voices.
Classic. What a classy lady with a beautiful voice. Great arrangement. Ms. Burnett's orchestra was fantastic too. Thanks for this posting. Long live Ms. Gorme & Ms. Burnett.
Eydie looks and sounds stunning & remember seeing this and amazing live version tops MGM Lp version...nobody could top Eydie and sadly nobody around today comes close...Bravo Eydie!!!
I recall the segment with Eydie Gorme. 1970's ,was a great time within the TV world and Hollywood. It's gone. Not the same today. I'm 88, and still in touch with a few members of cast of Carol's show. Not too many left. Very Good times. Thank you. C.Hahn, of Hahn&Levine, Beverly Hills, CA
I miss watching the Carol Burnett Show on Saturday nights. Saturday nights have not been the same since that show went off the air. I also miss watching and hearing amazing and talented singers like the incomparable Eydie Gorme. Like someone so properly stated her Spanish songs are also outstanding, and she does put every fiber of herself into her singing. Just brilliant!!! Thanks Eydie. We all love you!
The first time I heard Sondehim's "Losing My Mind" was on Carol Burnett's show, with Steve Lawrence singing it. It was indelible. Hip critics may deride Steve and Eydie as lounge-y kitsch, but the fact is, they sing really really well and they put across a song like no hip pop artist can. They communicated to audiences in a powerful, direct - if vulgar (for hip souls) - way. This is a great Eydie Gorme performance
The first time I heard Eydie sing was at a open assembly day at Taft High School. When I got home I told my Mother what a terrific voice this kid had and I hoped my Mom would come the next time she might sing' I think she was one of the best pop singers ever.I'm sure we all miss her.
Great memories from the Carol Burnett Show and the 70's. Perhaps the best female singer of the 20th Century. YES and I've thought about that statement.
What a beautiful couple, both had great voices, I think Eydie had more range. They were so good together.Still remember her version of "Guess Who I Saw Today"
Eydie sings SO beautifully with feeling and warmth and depth and with such power and clarity. Steve and Eydie both sing beautifully. This is reminding me of my childhood seeing her and Steve on the Carol Burnett Show and other shows, and it's getting me teary eyed. Beautiful and Classy! Thanks for posting this. God Bless!!
The female singers on American Idol,The Voice and other shows are like fingernails on a chalkboard to me...they scream and shriek---that is not singing. THIS is true talent...RIP beautiful lady...you're the best!
Eydie is so terribly underrated. The passion and powerful musicality brings this song ( and all the others she sings) out of cliche into a totally NOW drama. Thanks for posting this.
That was FANTASTIC!!!! I love Eydie Gorme and Steve Lawrence when they sing in Spanish...but WOW she killed it what a beautiful voice. By the way, people she sings spanish. Listen to her when she sings SPANISH...ITS AMAZING....SEARCH IT
EYDIE GORME! A beautiful lady, and a phenomenal singer! She will not be forgotten! She was a lady of great talent. May God bless her!

EYDIE GORME Had a Precious Voice no body could replace!!
The Best I Say No More
"Your gift was ours to borrow". Miss you Eydie.
I have felt for some time now that both Eydie and her husband Steve Lawrence are under rated. They both have amazing range and are fantastic singers!!

I grew up with Eydie. I love this woman. Thanks, Mom.
She can make even a mundane song sound epic. When she has a truly great song to work with the results are just stunning.
Liza said Eydie was her Mom's favorite female singer, that says something!

It's like I am back at the Sunrise Musical Theatre and the year is 1978...What a singer and what a duo. Thanks Eydie and Steve....

Total control of her instrument.

BRAVO, EYDIE !!!!!!!!! R.I.P.
@shinybear You're right. We had the BEST music and talent in the 70's, and we were truly spoiled. I miss Real entertainment.

RIP
we did what we had to do
I miss the talented singing a song for the interpretation and artistry of it. Nowadays its cliche'd virtuosity with no grasp of the material.
RIP
