So some things to know about Sonic: 1: Those 7 mystical gems are known as the Chaos Emeralds, mysterious gems that allow someone who is skilled enough to harness vast amounts of unlimited power when brought together, once all seven are collected, it allows a character like Sonic to transform into their Super form, usually shown as that golden form. Both the Chaos Emeralds and Super Sonic were inspired by the 7 Dragon Balls and Super Saiyan transformation from Dragon Ball. There are several other parallels to Dragon Ball throughout the series, hence why you get a lot of comparisons and crossover between both series' fandoms. 2: Each Sonic title's events are separate but there is a continuity between them, from certain characters returning from previous titles to references to past events. It's not like Kingdom Hearts in terms of an overarching plot, each titles' story is self contained, you could jump in to certain titles and be perfectly fine with that as your first title, while with other titles, the history between characters requires previously shown events from earlier games to understand. The most recent Sonic game, Sonic Frontiers, calls back many times to the series' and characters' histories with one another and their stories to firmly establish the continuity fully, whereas before, it was hard for some people to gauge what was canon and what wasn't. It's also for this reason that Frontiers probably wouldn't be recommended as your first game, given all the references. 3: No, Unleashed isn't a sequel to a previous title, it just picked up right as Sonic was having his latest confrontation with Eggman, which is a regular source of conflict in the series. Eggman is always trying to advance his plans for his Eggman Empire, it's just that this time, Eggman came prepared to spring a trap for Sonic and begin his next big scheme, which is the conflict of Unleashed.
Fun Fact: Sonic’s previous voice actor during this, Jason Griffith, had a strep throat during recording so that’s why at times his voice sounds scratchy as the Werehog. He even almost passed out doing the scream when you die in the night levels. Even after that, he said that Unleashed was his favorite game to work on! Props to him for his determination to keep going after that!👍❤
So glad you saw this. The sonic games are very loosely connected, you could start Unleashed without knowing anything and still understand like 95% of the story. Edit: if you ever want to do more Sonic intro reactions I recommend the Sonic CD intro, I think you'd be pleasantly surprised by how it's animated!
My favorite game in the series that has gained more love as time went on ^-^ Edit: I'll answer your questions to the best of my ability :) Sonic lore isn't as complex as KH, dw XD 11:11 Those are Chaos Emeralds, upon collecting all 7, Sonic uses them to turn into Super Sonic, introduced in Sonic 2 as a nod to Super Saiyan. He can be seen fighting all the Titans in Sonic Frontiers. 11:30 Funny you mentioned SW, there have been references to it in the past such as with the Death Egg in Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles. There's an in-universe movie franchise called Chao in Space seen in the Adventure games, which I always thought was adorable. 11:38 While there's more Super Sonic can do with the emeralds, he mainly uses them for the invulnerability and to fly at the speed of light. Other characters such as Tails and Knuckles have their own forms as well. A thing I forgot to mention was that Sonic needs a supply of rings to maintain that form or else the emeralds inside him scatter and he turns back to normal. 13:17 Eggman's main goal is world dominance with a robot army. He's not really sure what to specifically call his empire, going from Robotnikland (his real name being Ivo Robotnik), Eggmanland, Robotropolis, and Eggman Empire. 13:44 Tails and Amy appear in this game as well as a new character that will act as your companion. Knuckles and Shadow were planned to be in this game but were eventually cut. 15:10 All Sonic games are connected, although loosely. There are occasional call backs to other games, most famously in Generations and Frontiers. 15:26 If you ever wanna play this game I recommend playing on Xbox Series X for crisp 60fps. 15:41 The Sonic movies are a must watch, the second one dwelling more into the games but the first being a good introduction.
Great reactions! Yes, the movies are probably the best "video game movie adaptations" to date, really fun and well made. Also, they have Jim Carrey in it, so if that's not reason enough, lol.
The sonic unleashed cutscene was something else for its time, and i for one think it is almost a criminal act that they never made a movie in that artstyle :D Looked so goddamn good for its time and honestly still looks great in todays standards
@@ZorDonofDoom well this is a CGI pre-rendered cutscene opening. The actual game doesn’t look nearly as pretty but most fans think that even the gameplay graphics have aged pretty well
@@ZorDonofDoom Don't underestimate the game because it came out in 2008. If you play the xbox version of this game the graphics hold up to this day. So please don't let that discourage you from checking out this game because this is also my favorite sonic game
1. Thanks for your reaction. You always make sonic content even BETTER. 2.- Yes, the game is absolutely worth it and its within the franchise continuity but you can go 100% blind and still understand it and enjoy it. 3.- sonic & friends (except shadow) are not from space, it's just that eggman usually builds giant ships in space so nobody (mostly sonic) stop his work. 4.- Akira toriyama himself (dragon ball creator) worked with Sega in the past hence the "golden super".
I think this is WAY too late for more explainations but the fact I didn’t see many people mentioning it was making me want to clarify. The “werewolf” form that Sonic transforms into is called the Werehog. From a lore standpoint it’s caused by Sonic being mutated by the energy of Dark Gaia that was released when the planet split. It makes him more aggressive and it essentially transfers all of his usual insane super speed into absurd levels of strength. Sonic only turns into that form at night however. From a gameplay perspective, it serves as a contrast in gameplay styles, which is the main draw of Unleashed. The game is split into two gameplay styles. Day, which is Sonic’s usual gameplay style of exhilarating platforming at blistering speeds. And Night, which follows the Werehog through slower platforming levels that feature combat as the main focus. You switch between them throughout the entire game in their own unique levels. So long story short, it’s a corrupted form Sonic takes on, one that trades his speed for strength. And it’s used in levels that prioritize beating the crap out of enemies and tight platforming challenges.
@@ZorDonofDoom If you do find yourself ever wanting to play this game, I'd check it out on Xbox Series X if you can. It runs smooth as butter on it, whereas the original suffered from some pretty rough framerate issues.
I would make a correctio here, the Wherehog form isn't "corrupted". Nor does it make him more aggressive, he maintains the exact same demeanor throughout the game, yet is granted more visceral and raw attacks through the claws and stretching limbs. The game makes it a point to highlight how Sonics Character, his kindness and sense of self never wavers. Even when under the effects of Dark Gaia's energy because he is so strong willed.
Those were the Chaos Emeralds. They turn Sonic into Super Sonic. All the games are in the same continuity(excluding certain spinoffs). Last, but not least, his friends are on the planet and they aren’t from space. Thank you for your time.😊😊
Sonic music is always top quality, it's the one thing even sonic fans can agree on. Those gems are the Chaos Emeralds, which are a source of a massive amount of Chaos energy. Certain people can harness chaos energy to manipulate time and space. An even smaller number can use it to achieve a 'Super' form. One general misconception about Super Sonic is that it's derivitive of a Super Saiyan but that's not really true. Sonic 2 and the Manga panel that debuts Super Saiyan came out around the same time. Toriyama made Gokus super hair white because he didn't want to keep colouring it in. And Sonic is golden because Orange is opposite Blue on the colour wheel. Plus Goku doesn't absorb the Dragon Balls and there's nothing living inside the Chaos Emeralds. Now the Master Emerald does have something living inside it. A being called Chaos, who is a water monster, that evolved from a tiny angel, baby thing. It gets weirder. There are Aliens but those guys don't appear in Unleashed. Sonic games are only loosely connected so feel free to take your pick. Though I would personally recommend the X-box version of Unleashed, I don't know if the PC port is any good, historically they aren't, the PS version is the worst and the Wii version just sucks. As for that giant monster? It's called Dark Gaia. And It's basically an average Tuesday for Sonic. Also Sonic is the most overpowered Fire Emblem protagonist, I'm not even kidding there's a video and everything. I absolutely love that video.
Sonic Unleashed was the first Sonic game I ever played and is still my favorite. So, take it from me, you don't really need to play any previous games to understand a whole lot. It's still a lot of fun. A huge recommendation.
I would recommend it to her as it is my favorite Sonic game but if she really does play Sonic one day she should play generations first. And then unleashed because 1 the game is extremely hard and 2 the werehog is weird to start on lol 100 percent recommend tho
Lore dump, LeTS GO: 1) No Sonic ain’t from space, they just go there a weird amount lol 2) Those are the Chaos Emeralds, gems that when combined can grant infinite power, when Sonic uses them he turns into Super Sonic (and yes, these and Super Somic are heavily based off Super Sayan and the Dragon Balls). 2) Eggman used the Chaos Emerakds to crack the world open like an egg to “unleash” Dark Gaia, a deity within the earths core that he wishes to harness the power of to create his theme park. When unleashed, a large amount of its energy went into Sonic, turning him to a Were-Hog. 4) Definitely give it a play, probably the most immersive Sonic game, it can be played on PS3 and Xbox 360, an upgraded version on Xbox Game Pass, and an enetirely different version with the same story on Wii and PS2. 5) the movies are worth watching, they’re very good, but they are a very separate thing to the games 6) As for suggestions, just keep going thru the series’ history of music via the list I made ages ago lol. there’s lots to enjoy. keep on doing what ur doing ;)
That IS Lyn from Persona 5, yeah ! I was so surprised too when this dropped ! But Atlus is part of SEGA too, i guess it's not surprising they can get singers for different franchises !
I’d rather recommend generations first, then they can jump into unleashed. Unleashed is finicky and has hit of a skill curve. I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to beginners
13:03 here's a daily reminder that this game is from 2008! This starting cutscene took up quite a lot of the game's data, plus 2008, at this point, 18 YEARS AGO 😂
Yess, the movies are so good!!! A slightly different, younger take on Sonic's characterization, but theyre super heartwarming. 🤩 And yes, the games are connected. Unleashed isn't a sequel to anything, but it's amazing. 🤩🤩 The newest game, Frontiers, actually connected them all a lot better than any game has in a while 😂
For escape from the city I think you did all the main versions (outside of the sonic symphony version but you said you would watch the symphony sometimes so...)unless you want to listen to the trial version wich is just the sa2 version with the singer replaced by a guitar
If you did a let’s play on sonic unleashed or any sonic game I’d love to watch it!! And yes it’s a mainline game but No you don’t need to play other games to get the story, most sonic games are self contained stories aside from maybe a reference here and there
hey u should react to "With Me" from sonic and the black night and "What i'm made of" from sonic heroes, they are the final boss themes for the respective games (side note sonic and the black knight doesn't exactly follow the main storyline of the games however it has one of the best stories and plot in all of the sonic games)
Best way to play Unleashed is on the Series X. This is the only way to get a consistent 60fps. You could emulate it, but your frames will frequently drop and may crash your game. I will warn you that Sonic Unleashed is widely considered to be the hardest Sonic game. It will frustrate you if you aren't patient
Just got the CD soundtrack for this game today at 2:25p.m. and it's the Planetary Pieces Sonic World Adventure Original Soundrack CD and I'm listening to it while watching this! 7:33p.m. 6/15/2023
As far as the movies, they’re good, but like they are definitely kids movies so keep that in mind. Also they aren’t really an accurate representation of mainline Sonic as far as characterization and lore go
Honnestly, that intro did a great job at making you excited about the game, which is great. But I wouldn't recommend Unleashed as your first Sonic game. It's the hardest game in the series, and its gameplay is quite unique. I would recommend you start with a game like Sonic Colors or Sonic Générations, which are much easier games to get into the franchise with lighter stories
all sonic games are connected since the latest sonic game Sonic Frontiers tied everything in the same world, this game came out after sonic the hedgehog 2006 or as fans call it sonic' 06. also heads up unleashed is one of the hardest games in the series and can be played physically on xbox 360, ps3 and i believe xbox series X (also for best performance i recommend any of the xbox versions) this game is on the wii but unwiished as we call it is not as good as the xbox and ps version. hope that made sense also the main them of unleashed is named "endless possibilities": ruclips.net/video/q1TnH_ztC8w/видео.html (this the sonic symphony version if ur worried about any kind of spoiler for the game there is 0 on this video)
Sonic unleashed can be played on Xbox series, and that’s how it’s most recommended to play, since the only other consoles you can play it on is the ps3 and 2, the wii, and the xbox360, but the wii and ps2 versions are a completely different game
Funny thing about "it doesn't matter"... they released a new version 😅. It doesn't have a name, it's just "sonic's theme" from "the murder of sonic the hedgehog" So yeah if you want to finally have the totall it doesn't matter experience you know what to do... It's a simple and short version of the theme with no lyrics and it really have that vibe of "don't worry we can do it"
Its a shame they released this game on old hardware, none of the systems could handle it. You need a modern pc to run it properly which is wild. Has some of the best music but it gets ruined by the battle theme at night which cancels the music
So Sonic Unleashed is a self contained story though it’s within the main series. Eggman released Dark Gaia, essentially the Sonic equivalent to the devil, from Mobius’ core so that he can use the power to create his Eggman Empire, Eggman Land which is a level towards the end of the game. With Sonic in the trap, some of the Gaia energy fused into Sonic which gave him the form of the Werehog. With this, Sonic must help this rabbit fairy find his memory (He becomes very important later) and go on a globe trotting adventure to restore the chaos emeralds (the seven stones Sonic used to go into his super form, Super Sonic) in the Gaia temples which will bring the world back together. Gameplay wise, you play as regular Sonic which uses the at the time, newly made Boost gameplay to blitz around stages in normal Sonic fashion. The Werehog is a lot slower and more puzzle, combat and platforming heavy. Note that this game came out 2008, this was at a time when God Of War was insanely popular which inspired the Werehog gameplay. There’s also a bit of a collect-a-thon element to the game where you must collect sun and moon medals to progress through the story and access the main stages. Admittedly, it can become very tedious at times. Also you do have to upgrade Sonic and the Werehog. There’s an upgrade system based on XP like an RPG. As for platforms, the game is backwards compatible on the Xbox One, Series S/X, PlayStation 4 and I think the PlayStation 5 as well. The HD full version never came out on the Wii so you can’t play it on switch and it never released on PC but you can use the Xenia emulator to play the game there. Overall, I recommend the game. It’s easily one of the best Sonic experiences. The graphics, both in-game and CGI are amazing for a 2008 title which is helped by the great artstyle. The music is led by Tomoya Ohtani, who offers a more cinematic sound to the franchise, the gameplay while at times can be tedious, is very fun and challenging and the story is one of the best the game has to offer as well as great voice work from the best Sonic voice actor, Jason Griffith. The game is an easy 9/10.
small correction: it's not Mobius. Mobius only exists in the American localizations from the 90s. Sega of Japan has had games take place on Earth since Sonic Adventure. the only other mention of Mobius since then is in the new movie continuity, which, in that continuity, is the world that Sonic is from, not Earth.
So this isn't the original video since the Japanese broadcast has been delisted since then BUT. This right here features both Jun Senoue and Shoji Meguro and Lynn at the end! ruclips.net/video/x63Zwtl2ROo/видео.html
12th doctor postcard/poster behind you, based af yeah none of the sonic games are really connected at all (outside of the early 2000s and even then it's ehh), I'd say start with Mania if you like 2D platformers, and the music in that game is *chefs kiss*. When it comes to 3D games it's a lot more hit and miss but Unleashed is good, or frontiers the newest one that just came out is better then good.
I should warn you that if you're seriously considering really diving into the series (and I would totally watch you do Let's Plays on these games), just from my personal experience at least, that from a gameplay perspective, Sonic Unleashed should NOT be your first Sonic game. Apart from bringing in some nighttime levels with different gameplay mechanics that are exclusive to Unleashed, overall, it is a difficult game. Especially where the daytime levels are concerned, when you're running really fast, and you don't have the levels memorized. No joke, especially when you get to the later half of the game, it is MAD HARD.
you should play unleashed on xbox series x! it is one of the harder sonic games though, but once you get the gameplay styles down it's doable. also, the live action sonic movies are a whole different canon. i'm not a huge fan of it as it fundamentally changes sonic's character and makes him a kid who has to grow and learn, as opposed to the games where he inspires other people to grow. but if you want to see a different take on sonic, it's worth it
100% watch the movies... but i suggest to get more sonic into your noggin lol. i think they are totally enjoyable for someone who doesnt know much of sonic, but *hear your comments on kingdom hearts and kirby* ohohoh the kirby lore you think is simple- uh anyway, sonic movies good XD

If you did a let’s play on sonic unleashed or any sonic game I’d love to watch it!! And yes it’s a mainline game but No you don’t need to play other games to get the story, most sonic games are self contained stories aside from maybe a reference here and there
hey u should react to "With Me" from sonic and the black night and "What i'm made of" from sonic heroes, they are the final boss themes for the respective games (side note sonic and the black knight doesn't exactly follow the main storyline of the games
however it has one of the best stories and plot in all of the sonic games)
Best way to play Unleashed is on the Series X. This is the only way to get a consistent 60fps. You could emulate it, but your frames will frequently drop and may crash your game.
I will warn you that Sonic Unleashed is widely considered to be the hardest Sonic game. It will frustrate you if you aren't patient
damn. its the frist time you see most stuff in sonic, that's crazy.

The Infinity Stones = The Chaos Emeralds
Super Saiyan Sonic = Super Sonic
Werewolf Sonic = Werehog Sonic
(Sorry if I spelled saiyan wrong-😭)
Just got the CD soundtrack for this game today at 2:25p.m. and it's the Planetary Pieces Sonic World Adventure Original Soundrack CD and I'm listening to it while watching this! 7:33p.m. 6/15/2023
The live actions are the best videogames movies ever made. For now
I am biased on this, but the wii version is the most immersive. So I would say go with that one.
As far as the movies, they’re good, but like they are definitely kids movies so keep that in mind. Also they aren’t really an accurate representation of mainline Sonic as far as characterization and lore go
Wait until she finds out about the two million versions of His World
Honnestly, that intro did a great job at making you excited about the game, which is great. But I wouldn't recommend Unleashed as your first Sonic game. It's the hardest game in the series, and its gameplay is quite unique. I would recommend you start with a game like Sonic Colors or Sonic Générations, which are much easier games to get into the franchise with lighter stories
Oh shoot, that's the first one I've been playing 🤣 that explains why I've been struggling so much 🤣🤣
Welcome to the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.
We release gods on weekends
all sonic games are connected since the latest sonic game Sonic Frontiers tied everything in the same world, this game came out after sonic the hedgehog 2006 or as fans call it sonic' 06. also heads up unleashed is one of the hardest games in the series and can be played physically on xbox 360, ps3 and i believe xbox series X (also for best performance i recommend any of the xbox versions) this game is on the wii but unwiished as we call it is not as good as the xbox and ps version.
hope that made sense
also the main them of unleashed is named "endless possibilities": ruclips.net/video/q1TnH_ztC8w/видео.html (this the sonic symphony version if ur worried about any kind of spoiler for the game there is 0 on this video)
Sonic Movie 2 is pretty good for game accuracy
i never heard this It doesn't matter remix and i think it is my new favorite
I'd really love to hear about your playing any Sonic games!!!
It doesn't have a name, it's just "sonic's theme" from "the murder of sonic the hedgehog"
So yeah if you want to finally have the totall it doesn't matter experience you know what to do...
It's a simple and short version of the theme with no lyrics and it really have that vibe of "don't worry we can do it"
To answer your question about sonic's odd transformation, that sonic Sonic the werehog.
YESS FINALLY
Sonic Unleashed is my favorite video game of all time
Its a shame they released this game on old hardware, none of the systems could handle it. You need a modern pc to run it properly which is wild. Has some of the best music but it gets ruined by the battle theme at night which cancels the music
whaat?? That's wild!
Yeah, the movies are worth to watch
The city escape remix I think is based on the modern remix of city escape
So this isn't the original video since the Japanese broadcast has been delisted since then BUT. This right here features both Jun Senoue and Shoji Meguro and Lynn at the end!

I highly recommend playing sonic unleashed. If you wanna play it it's on the xbox series S
Microsoft and Xbox recently gave Sonic Unleashed a new lease on life.
If you’re planning on playing Unleashed, do yourself a favor and play it on Xbox Series X or S if possible
12th doctor postcard/poster behind you, based af
yeah none of the sonic games are really connected at all (outside of the early 2000s and even then it's ehh), I'd say start with Mania if you like 2D platformers, and the music in that game is *chefs kiss*.
When it comes to 3D games it's a lot more hit and miss but Unleashed is good, or frontiers the newest one that just came out is better then good.
I think it'd be fun to do a sonic movie 1 & 2 watchalong with you-
Is there a full video to your outro song?
You need to play the X-box 360 or the PS-3 version of Sonic Unleashed. The Wii version is basically a completely different game.
You should react to the sonic unleashed main song; Endless Possibilities by Bowling for Soup.
or the whole ost
I should warn you that if you're seriously considering really diving into the series (and I would totally watch you do Let's Plays on these games), just from my personal experience at least, that from a gameplay perspective, Sonic Unleashed should NOT be your first Sonic game. Apart from bringing in some nighttime levels with different gameplay mechanics that are exclusive to Unleashed, overall, it is a difficult game. Especially where the daytime levels are concerned, when you're running really fast, and you don't have the levels memorized. No joke, especially when you get to the later half of the game, it is MAD HARD.
you should play unleashed on xbox series x! it is one of the harder sonic games though, but once you get the gameplay styles down it's doable.
also, the live action sonic movies are a whole different canon. i'm not a huge fan of it as it fundamentally changes sonic's character and makes him a kid who has to grow and learn, as opposed to the games where he inspires other people to grow. but if you want to see a different take on sonic, it's worth it
Yes, the live action are good movies
sonic unleashed is the best 3d sonic hands down
It is Lyn from Persona! Atlus and Persona belongs to Sega
Could you react to the opening cutscene for sonic mania
yes
I played sonic unleashed before so if you need any tips, I can tell you if you want some day.
100% watch the movies... but i suggest to get more sonic into your noggin lol. i think they are totally enjoyable for someone who doesnt know much of sonic, but *hear your comments on kingdom hearts and kirby* ohohoh the kirby lore you think is simple- uh anyway, sonic movies good XD
could you react to the rumbling from attack on Titan the final season this Friday, that would be cool love your videos ✨
The best place to play sonic unleashed is on the xbox series S/X
Sonic unleashed it's on Xbox 360,one ,series s or x,and ps3
Did you ever start playing Sonic Unleashed? lol
Please react the Sonic frontiers boss fights
Pls réac sonic unleashed Dark Gaii ❤ best Sonic Game forever
She was mid movie and was like wait it was a game intro
The live action movie is good, but it's got no connection to the games. So only watch it if you want to.
omg
