Surprised you didn't do something about the rust in the bottom spring mounting cup or replace the shock whilst at it. Shocks don't last for ever particularly in a car used predominately in towns. However, thanks for making the video. I plan on doing my ford Ka which has the same rear axle once the weather warms up more and give it a good coat of Lanolyn.
Hi @pete9501 This car had failed its MOT and the customer was only interested in replacing the rear suspension spring to get the car road legal again. Thanks for watching
Hi @ricke69 Yes the underside ain't the prettiest to look at but fairly typical of a coastal car. It has been advised a couple of years running that the back axle should be closely monitored but it keeps passing its MOT (for now). Sometimes these things look worse than they actually are but if it fails next year I won't be suprised. Thanks for watching
Hi @oyinkansolaawe We paid £45 for an aftermarket suspension spring, genuine part would probably cost double that. Labour would probably be something like £80-90 per hour for an independent garage, and £150-200 per hour for a main dealer, both with VAT on top. Job should take no more than 30 mins. I'll let you do the maths ;) Thanks for watching.
Hi @ermannovalsecchi5774 I think you have misunderstood the point of the video. This car had failed its MOT (required annual inspection in the UK) and the customer was only interested in replacing the rear suspension spring to get the car road legal again. This channel does not specialise in car restorations. Thanks for watching.

Nice work but surprised you didn't condemn the car... there's some serious corrosion there 🤣

Definitely a coastal car!
I guess 'rust-ic charm' wasn't exactly what Fiat had in mind
Around how much would this cost to fix?

Che brutto lavoro che hai fatto. Dovevi cambiare anche l ammortizzatore che è marcio e dargli una mano di antiruggine!
