My friends and I make this awesome combination that is always a hit on our camping trips: cut a big piece of foil, then we add chopped potatoes, bell peppers, sausage, onions, cheese, sprinkle some seasoning, add broccoli rabs, plus a little splash of beer (or water) just to give some moisture. Wrap it all in the foil and you can also do some double wrapping to make sure it's secure. We tend to have contests of the best outside wrapping, some people make handles with it, other make crazy looking sculptures. Place it over the fire on the grill and let it cook for 30-40min. Depending on the fire it'll cook faster so check to make sure it's not burning. Also place the potatoes on the bottom bc they cook slower: it sounds complicated but it's actually really simple and delicious!
Ooooh...Will have to give that a shot, as I'm Celiac, but the Udi's brand I've found is pretty good at handling a lot of stuff in them, so will have to try this w/them. If that doesn't work, then why not use a wrap & make Pizza Quesadillas, right? Thanks for the awesome idea!! 😊😊😊
We make "slugs". We take up clean never used broom handles bought at our local hardware store. Open a can of Pillsbury Croissant Dough and wrap the dough around the rounded end of the broom handle in a closed come shape. "Bake" over the campfire for 15-20 minutes rotating throughout cook time. Remove from end of broomstick and fill with homemade huckleberry jam and butter.
Jami Lee you could save money by just wrapping parchment paper around a thick enough stick you find near your camp site then wrapping the dough around the parchment paper
I went camping with my boyfriend and his family a couple weeks ago and I did these brownies in an orange thing hat I found on Pinterest. You hollow out the orange and put brownie mix in it and place it over the fire. They were a HIT!! I won major brownie points (pun intended) with his family. You should try it, it give the chocolate a wonderful orange taste!
My favorite campfire food... Little smoky hot dogs wrapped in some dough from the fridge section. It's pigs in a blanket made right before your eyes. It's so delicious!
In germany its kind of a tradition to cook campfire bread ^^ its a doe you prepair first and then you rap it around a stick and let it cook above the fire! Sooo good!!
Back in my Girl Scout days, we would cut the top off an orange, hallow,it out and then fill it with either pumpkin bread mix or ginger bread mix. Mix the bread mixes per your homemade or box mix directions before pouring them in. Put the top back on the orange and the stick the orange in the coals. The bread bakes and has an amazing orange flavor to it. Yum!
I keep meaning to try out the campfire cones; I love how you can customize them. We have done the stuffed bananas and they were pretty darn good! One of the simpler ones I found on Pinterest that I really liked was making S'mores by simply putting a toasted marshmallow between 2 Keebler Fudge Stripe cookies.
My family has these grilled cheese presses that you hold over the fire, and we do pizzas and pies in them. It is just a wrap with either pizza or pie filling and the fire makes them crispy.
Yummm! Banana boats were a camp favorite when I was younger. It works better if you leave the peel on, and place it without foil! Also, try it with peanut butter!! At camp, we would put pb, marshmallows and chocolate chips, wait until the peel was black, and then ate them.
We used to always make damper when went camping :). Mix self raising flour (or plain flour with 1tsp baking powder per cup) with water until it forms a dough. You can flavour it any way you like but we used to always roll it into logs and wrap it around sticks. We'd then cook it over the fire, unravel it and eat with jam or whatever spread you like :)
We have this huge metal plate thingy over our bonfire, and we cook pancakes there. Basically a lot of butter, then batter, wait, flip, put on brown sugar and squeeze some orange on top so it sorta blends with the sugar, and you're done.
Gosh, now I crave a nice evening or night with my friends around the campfire, having those treats with me. I love the atmosphere when the fire is burning, the flames have these vibrant colours, you have fun, talk etc and then having great food. YAAAAAS! :) You are soooooooooo gorgeous, I love all your videos! And thanks for inspiring me so much!
Gingerbread baked in Orange Peel halves is AWESOME!! Take your favourite Gingerbread recipe, cut Oranges in half & either eat the pulp as is or use it for something else. Pour the batter into the now empty Orange Peel halves, wrap in foil & either put them on a grate as you've been doing or put them in the outer coals to cook. Give them 15-20.mins & if not done, give them 5 more mins or just keep checking them after 15 min has gone by. Use a skewer to check for doneness as you would if you in the Kitchen & once done, dig in w/a spoon!! When my Girl Guide Leader told us we'd be doing this 1st night of the 1st time I'd ever been at Guide Summer Camp, we thought she was nuts. Turned out she was brilliant. 😄 Hope you try it & those Banana Boats brought back some great memories. 😊
Oh & do I hear you about those lil buzzing Vampires & your feet!! They *adore* mine. 1 yr I came home from Summer Camp & my feet were so covered w/bites, there were bites on top of the other bites. That was NOT a fun few weeks getting them all healed up from the aftermath of being a 24hr for a week All You Can Eat Smorgasbord....😣. Hope you're not getting attacked as badly!!
Such a timely video for me! Going camping in Utah next week and I pinned some of these exact recipes. I believe the cinnamon roll is supposed to be done with a crescent roll or some other plain dough dipped in cinnamon sugar and then wrapped around the skewer. Looks awesome!
Me too its super good it's just brownie mix or cake mix and take out some of the orange and put the mix inside and then wrap it in foil and put it in grade
I need to make this. Is there a technique to this? Like what part of the fire do I put it on? Do I need a grate or can I put it in like a baked potato? Also, how long should they cook for? I'm mostly familiar with the typical camp food and would love to expand. Pun not intended haha
+TheRuby101 there is a RUclipsr named Gemma Stafford and she made this orange peel cake, the video is called summer outside desserts. You should check it out. There is the recipe and everything :)
Campfire idea: we used to wrap Pillsbury biscuits around a 1" wooden dowel in a spiral, pinching the seams to seal them (hint: cover the end of the dowel with the biscuit and then stretch it out, wrapping up the dowel about 3-4"). The seams needs to be well sealed. Roast over hot coals (avoid flames) until browned. Rotate the biscuit slightly to help it slide off the dowel. If it doesn't rotate, then the inside is still raw. Filling ideas: pie filling, butter and cinnamon sugar, hotdog.
At scout camps we usually make this thing we call "stickbread", or pinnbröd as we say in finnish-swedish, at the campfire, which is really simple and really jummy! All you need is flour, baking powder, water and salt. For five breads: 4 dl wheat flour 1 dl water 1 pinch salt 2 pinches baking powder Just mix everything together and make the five dough pieces into "rolls" and roll them around the stick and cook preferably over ember until the bread is golden. Enjoy plain, with butter or jam, or something else you prefer! You can google "pinnbröd" if you want to see pictures! :)
I love these ideas, especially the waffle cone! One Pinterest idea that has helped me when outdoors is putting a dryer sheet in my pocket (or bra), and the mosquitos don't seem to bite!
love the video!! I always loved making mountain pies where you take the bread and fill it and cook in a mountain pie iron. I saw a hack once where they cooked bacon in a brown paper bag with an egg. never tried it but want to.
You're so wonderful! You come up with the best ideas for videos. I am going to try some of these this October for our bonfires. So many awesome things to try!
Hey:) so instead of putting a piece of chocolate on a smore, try putting a Reese's on the gram cracker. You can also spread peanut butter onto it, but the chocolate, marshmallows, and peanut butter tastes are sooo delicious!!!
+THRILLHO Not only that, but it's 1 of those "It's so brilliant & my favourites all combined, so...Why didn't I think of it myself?" things too. 😄😄😄. Have got to give that a shot if I'm lucky to be at a Campfire Get-together Party Thing this year, but w/the bush so dry the last 2Summers & a Campfire Ban in effect then too, it's been awhile. Fingers crossed this year, as we had a cool & wet Spring this year, so here's hoping!!
Try baked gingerbread cobbler. Take a large jar of apple sauce and pour into a fire proof kettle. Take a box of gingerbread cake/cookie mix. Mix it as the directions on the package call for cookies.- but after you dollop it on top of the applesauce and cover it bake on the grate of the fire for the length called for to make the cake.
dutch oven cobbler take canned fruit (cherries apples peaches what ever you want) and put it into a dutch oven, lined with aluminum foil. get a good layer and add some sugar if you want or whatever spices. Then take a box of white cake mix and mix the dry mix with a bottle of cream soda. add it till it is i a happy medium between battery and doughy pour this over the fruit and put the dutch oven in the fire. place 1 third of your charcoals under the oven and two thirds up above it and let sit until the cake mix is browned on top. serve immediately but remind people to let it cool first. If you have extra leave your dutch oven off to the side till morning and heat up the top in a skillet with butter making sure to avoid adding fruit which can burn easily. serve with some bacon and eggs.
I just saw a video where they put strawberries on the end of the stick, dipped it marshmallow cream and then roasted it. They said it's not the easiest to get the marshmallow cream to stick to the strawberry but it's well worth the effort in the end.
I have done the waffle-cone one and it has officially replaced s'mores as my favorite camping snack. It was incredible! I stuffed mine with marshmallows, heath bar bits and banana.
+Catherine Patin the Goldbaums brand makes Gluten free, vegan cones. If you are near a Hyvee check there! Or if not they have a store locator on their website where you can see where else they are sold :)
Thank you for the heads up! I'm not near a Hyvee and the closest store that carries that brand is over 25 miles away, BUT they do carry them on a website I frequently shop,so I can definitely get them there :D
Pineapple upside down cakes! On a foil sheet put brown sugar, butter, pineapple ring and a little cake (little sponge cakes, half a bakery muffin, etc.). Wrap and place on fire for about 5 minutes. Serve upside-down on a plate.
I love you so much! Lol that banana s'more thing looked so good! I love baked banana like banana pancakes, it reminds me of banana bread...I'm obsessed lol😳
Get an orange and take out the inside and put chocolate cake mix inside the orange and wrap it in tin foil and put it on the rack near the fire it's so good 😊
I would suggest to put some of the cheese curds then a bit of gravy. then more cheese curds and more gravy, that way when you pour the hot GRAVY it will help to melt
You should try s'mores with a dark chocolate or milk chocolate peanut butter cup instead of just plain chocolate. The peanut butter combination with the marshmallows is awesome 👍🏻😍😋
I would have liked to know if the banana is better with or without the peel, as you said you tried both. Other than that, I really liked the style of this video in a way :)

roasted peach halves brushed with brown sugar and butter, cooked on a marshmallow fork, served with honey drizzle and maybe a scoop of vanilla
Pizza Pitas! Stuff pita pockets with tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, etc. Wrap in foil and heat for 5 minutes.

Beautiful nature captions 🌳✨

The outdoors look lovely Sarah. Wish you do more of these.
The combination of roasted marshmallow and baileys sounds divine! That would make a great hot cocoa drink too!
My favorite campfire food... Little smoky hot dogs wrapped in some dough from the fridge section. It's pigs in a blanket made right before your eyes. It's so delicious!

I love sticking recess pieces inside of the marshmallows when I make s'mores! It. Is. Amazing!

Haha
R.I.P to my youth look it up

Can you make some campfire dinners too? I need some ideas on what to eat before dessert! LOL:))))) or do you already have those recorder some where?

Do you add the brown sugar and orange after they are cooked as a topping, or while they are cooking? Sounds amazing!

I've read about campfire cakes cooked in orange peels. I think it would be really cool if you could try that.

Aldi have started selling s'mores campfire kit here in Australia, can't wait to go to our shed in the bush next week to try them.
We do smores using mini chocolate bars... peanut butter cups and cookies and cream are favourites.
I'm eager to try the waffle cones stuffed with chocolate and raspberries! Yum!
This is my favourite channel I watch it religiously!
Your videos are always perfect I love them
Me and my family love going camping and this video helped with some of the desserts thank u!!!
They are soooo much to make while camping!
My favorite campfire treat is mountain pies which can be made with all kinds of yummy things like pizza, apple pie filling, and eggs.
I love the video idea. I see these all over Pinterest! I love the place you are staying in too, so cool! Love you 💕💕
We make spicy rice and today we made our own fire pit. Literally an on BBQ rack and rocks. Who knew it could be so good?
Also making popcorn over the fire is good. 👍🏻
I've tried the banana one. I spread peanut butter and dark chocolate chips on it and eat it with a spoon. so good! !

savoury campfire cone? love the ideas !
The waffle cone s'mores look yummy. I'll have to try them in the oven.
I'm commenting this before seeing the results: those bananas work like a charm. I already know. They're AMAZING
Hey:) so instead of putting a piece of chocolate on a smore, try putting a Reese's on the gram cracker. You can also spread peanut butter onto it, but the chocolate, marshmallows, and peanut butter tastes are sooo delicious!!!

Thank you so much for a winter video 😍😍😘😘🙂
This was a great video! So creative and awesome! Love it
I've already tried the banana one before seeing this video and they are really good!!! :D
My Mom used to make pineapple upside down cake when we went camping. Could you do Camp Fire Dinners? That would be cool!

Yummmm Yummmm Yummmm! Camping just got better 👍👍👍👍⛺⛺⛺⛺⛺
I have done the waffle-cone one and it has officially replaced s'mores as my favorite camping snack. It was incredible! I stuffed mine with marshmallows, heath bar bits and banana.
Very nice video, love your natural way
If I can find some Gluten free, Vegan waffle cones, I am SO trying those stuffed with fruit, chocolate and Vegan marshmallows! Yum!

This was a fantastic idea! The deer was adorable :3
So true. Exactly my thoughts.
MsScorpyscorp Lol XD
I love you so much! Lol that banana s'more thing looked so good! I love baked banana like banana pancakes, it reminds me of banana bread...I'm obsessed lol😳
Wow what an incredible place!! 😍
Yay for camping season! Love these recipes!
These look delicious! Could you link those original pins in your descriptions? I would love to see them and it'd be great to credit those creators =)
Totally going to try at least 1 of these this summer😃
This is so much fun! I enjoyed this video. Adding this to My favorites xx
Can you show us the camping food essentials and recipes please!

Get an orange and take out the inside and put chocolate cake mix inside the orange and wrap it in tin foil and put it on the rack near the fire it's so good 😊
The cone one, wow !😱👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 thank you !!😄✨
I would suggest to put some of the cheese curds then a bit of gravy. then more cheese curds and more gravy, that way when you pour the hot GRAVY it will help to melt
Omg the banana with chocolate! Yassssss
I'm about to go camping and am going to try all these ❤️I love your videos ❤️
Thank you for this :) I'm going camping Canada day!
They all look great!! You should do some camp fire dinner ideas :)
I love this video!I would love to see some savory campfire recipes! More like campfire meals! :)
Really good. Have tried a couple of these. Looking forward for more. Subbed you thanks
Welcome to the channel! I'll be sharing more cottage & summer recipes throughout the month!
You should try s'mores with a dark chocolate or milk chocolate peanut butter cup instead of just plain chocolate. The peanut butter combination with the marshmallows is awesome 👍🏻😍😋
I loved the deer part
Feeding the deer! That's amazing.
Would you recommend the banana boats to be baked with the skin off or on?
I would have liked to know if the banana is better with or without the peel, as you said you tried both.
Other than that, I really liked the style of this video in a way :)
You'll make less of a mess on your hands if you use the peel, but otherwise they seem to taste about the same.
Really want to try those cones and marshmallows yummy
I wonder if the cinnamon roll would cook a little faster if you cut it into chunks and put it on the skewer like a kabob. I've never been a marshmallow fan but I could get into campfire cinnamon rolls!
AMAZING! Love your editing too!
Trying my own rendition of the waffle cone one tonight!
Marshmallow
Banana
Walnuts
Honey
the place you're staying is soooo bomb 😭👍💕❤️
Thanks Berry, I absolutely love spending time at the cottage in the summer!
