Topher Bus actually looks like he could fit in the original show. Frida doesn’t look that bad. Yeah, her outfit is a bit, much on the eyes, but she’s an artist. Color is kind of her thing, although they could make her outfit look “painter like” without making the colors clash. Confucius and Harriet just look kinda bland, and Harriet especially looks like a mix between a Total Drama OC and a humanized Pinkie Pie.
Harriet should have been Madam CJ Walker. She'd change her hair every episode, and it would add to her wanting to be famous and rich to live up to her clone mother being one of the first black millionaires
OK, they’re background characters😊 any reals that be main characters is obviously a lie made up by your brain to cope with the fact that Gandhi is no longer here
If im correct Lord and Miller admitted that the new writers hated Abe which is depressing. How the entire fanbase and the writers misses the point of his character is beyond me.
@@POIUYTREWQ62 thats how modern western writers are hired for some reason. It happened to marvel and DC comics. It happened to the Witcher series. It happened to Y the last man series. It happened to the black christmas remake^2.
This is why you don't let toxic tumblr fans impact your TV show. It's bad enough when a good show garners a shit fanbase but Lord and Miller made the worst decision possible by letting them literally join the fucking crew and _make_ the rest of the TV show at that point.
This has been said many times already, but season 2 forgot that the whole point of the show was to be a critique of teen dramas, but instead just became a teen drama, and a pretty bad one at that. The writers became too afraid to mock any of it's characters as before, out of fear of upsetting fans, when the enjoyment of the show came from how the show pointed out the inherent flaws of the teen caricatures that the cast were and made fun of them.
Well I disagree with one thing. They were more than ok with mocking old characters to the point of bastardization. Shit is hot garbage and I wish I could stop listening 🔥🔥🔥
@@dumbsvilleI hate the fact they promised to bring back Gandhi, but instead they killed him off as a gag and replaced him by putting his personality into 3 new main characters. They really hid the fact that the show originated in 2002.
@@dumbsvilleI definitely agree. Despite it being headed by Lord and Miller, it feels like the people who wrote season 2 flat out didn’t understand the first season and took it way too seriously.
@@imurpr0blemactually, they do plan on bringing him back in season 3 or 4. They just wanted to wait a while so they wouldn’t get prematurely cancelled again.
funniest thing about cleo being recast is that when i sat down to watch the first episode with my friends one of the first things they said was, and i quote, "wasnt cleo recast to not be a white girl or something" "yeah" "why does she sound whiter" like its genuinely the most generic voice you can do for a female character ever
@@lennypayne4241the funniest thing is that the actual historical Cleopatra is a heavily inbreed Greek woman from a dynasty descdended of greek generals who hadn't ever spoken the language of the people they ruled over until she came along.
@@TheIrreverentUncleAlbeing white is complicated but if someone have white skin and non (some part from) Asia eyes then they can be considered like white people
I know this concept is weird but if race doesn't exist white just mean that you have white skin and being white is not really being pale Irish are pale, frenchies are more some sort of light pink and spanish are tanned (most of the time).and those three are white because someone white is not someone who actually have a white skin but most like some sort of really clear orange,Peach colour or even a very light brown.in Real life black people are Brown people of every nuance
What I hate about Confucius is that the idea of a philosopher writing their ideas online and being cancelled or ridiculed is actually a great idea, but it was wasted by what we got. Imagine a clone of historical Confucius writing something online and the OTT ideas that can come from it.
I think the thing I hate the most about the show is all the missed opportunities that would have made it good. Like that’s legit an interesting concept but the writers fucked it up.
I remember seeing advertising for an anime (could've just been a meme) about Confucius getting Isekai'd into the modern world and, upon seeing it's spiritual decline, gets a voice changer and becomes a v-tuber to spread Confucian thought leading to a new golden age of reason or something. It's astounding to me how many directions you could take the concept of "historical figure in today's world" and how little the show does with it.
I love how they joke about shit not aging well while literally making an episode with an unfunny ass punchline about a teacher sexually harassing their student I'm sure that'll age wonderfully.
That episode was a joke on Riverdale and how they aged down Mrs. Grundy to make her a hot babe in her 20's, when she was actually an old lady in the original comics and TV shows, all so she could have sex with Archie and it wouldn't look weird. It's actually pretty funny when you get the context.
2003 Clone High: There is a little bit of teen drama in your perfect critique and satire. 2023 Clone High S2: There is a little bit of critique in your awful teen drama.
Rumour has it the writers for this new season went back and watched the original run and absolutely despised Abe and proved they completely misinterpreted him thus leading to him getting absolutely shit on and sidelined.
I think its time to leave all these old shows and movies from our past... well, in the past. Every time something gets remade or rebooted its been awful lately. Except Samurai Jack, that last season was nutty.
From what I’ve heard, new writers were on season 2 and they completely misunderstood season 1 thinking it was an actual drama and not a parody, making them hate Abe (hence the poor treatment in season 2), they ship JFK and Joanne (hence the relationship), etc.
Such a disgrace to the original show, I loved the first season but the second ruined everything and forgot what made the show so good in the first place.
@@plugshirt1762 You're literally comparing crime dramas to cringy adult animated comdies that people will soon completely forget. We literally just had Succession and Barry, two of the best shows in recent memory from HBO, so I'd argue they haven't fallen from grace (although maybe they might now that those shows ended).
Frida's painting has more personality about her than how the show handled her. If only the painting was the base in making her like how it's portrayed. Making her chill and cool sounds very out of character.
They could have honestly made Frida Kahlo a sincere and talented weeaboo who tries to use her Self-insert Deviantart Mary Sue tiered Fantasies as a means to escape her personal problems of the inevitability and growing up and growing out.. She honestly would have fitted the first season just by the potential of tackling LatAm Weeb culture ALONE.
The thing is the clones never were connected to their characters. They grown into their own people and would even try to go against their clone-father/mother. Ghandi would avoid being like his clone father by doing all sorts of things
@@spookychords4925 Even if they didn't have connection to the characters, which is undeniably false, what would be the point of making them clones if you weren't going to play around with the figures they were?
To be fair, a good chunk of their screentime together in season two was flanderized into constant tongue kissing. Even though it’s a cute ship, I think they need to work on themselves and mature as people first, before they try again. Let’s just hope that this is what ends up happening and that they get back together! I still think that JoanFK at the prom in the season one finale is the best JoanFK moment.
She looks like what you would get if Prager U or Ben Shapiro made an animated propaganda cartoon and they had to design an over-the-top, strawman feminist character for it.
@@velvi8359he irony is that the strawman feminist character was made with sincerity, thus proving the law that it is impossible to create inaccurate strawmen online.
I came out of Across the Spiderverse going "oh that's was amazing, such a perfect movie! Now how can they make that, but botch the new Clone High season!" I heard it was because all the new writers were young people who found the show during the tiktok surge, and the fandom. So what they wrote was what they got from the fandom ex. Basic mean girl Cleo, Joan being the main character, golden retriever JFK, and making Abe worse than he actually is
Also from what I’ve heard, the actual creators were pretty much completely uninvolved until the last four episodes, which are far better than the first 6, due to work on across the spider verse.
@someguyinazoo Ghandi's portrayal in CH was better than his real-life self imo. The irl Ghandi's movement for a unified and free India were wonderful, that's true, but that's also the guy who supported Hitler, had very racist views, sexually abused and slept with underage girls lmfao
Thanks for talking about Frida Kahlo! I know it's a very small aspect of what makes this season a disaster, but Frida Kahlo, the real person DOES have real themes and personality traits to draw from for her clone character, and the show just doesn't do that! She's one of my favorite artists and so many of her pieces focus on her own experiences and feelings-- many of them were made to express her chronic physical pain. I saw another review that claimed the historical figures picked out for the new characters didn't have well-known traits to play off of as people, but that's just not true! That little segment about Kahlo and one of her pieces at the end was just very gratifying, thank you!
I went to her museums in Mexico when I was 12 and the stuff shocked me because of how she perfectly described the hardest and disturbing parts of her life with art alone. After that I began to respect her as one of my favorite artist. I liked seeing her be mentioned in media like Coco but idk I get it’s a clone but they could’ve written her so much better than the crap we got
-10:34 Thank you! -I'm actually really happy to hear a different take on Abe, because almost everyone in the fanbase seems to just hate him. His character gets completely flanderized in season 2, it seems like the writers just took what the fans think Abe's personality is and used that. Instead of what his actual personality was, like what we saw in season 2 was just not Abe's character at all.. like bro is unrecognizable, what have they done to this man.. -From what I learned the fanbase doesn't seem to understand Abe, like I can understand if people dislike Abe. He's not even my favorite character, but he's always described as this unredeemable monster and I'm kind of tired of hearing that same take on him. This was so refreshing! (btw just wanted to make this clear, there are other characters that got flanderized too, but Abe might be one of the worst cases here. Like bro is down egregious.. 😔)
I LOVE ABE! I really really find him SO funny and the perfect protagonist. Actually, the OG trio (Abe, Gandhi and Joan) were so perfectly balance, so funny, so likeable. I mean, i can really believe that a group of people like them could be friends. I can also see why Joan and ultimately Cleo liked Abe. I can believe that an awful guy as JFK can be popular and have his sympathetic moments, or why a guy like Gandhi is desperate for validation bc he is an adorable loser who at the end of the day, doesn't know that he is already popular IN his circle. The OG clones where exaggerated, yes, but that didn't take their humanity and that's why I love them. And I do really like Abe bc he is just the normal mate who is so into his goal that he can't see that maybe, that goal is not the best option for him... He has a heart of gold, he loves his friends and he really treats well his love interest. Just because he was oblivious to Joan's feelings doesn't mean he didn't treat her well as a friend. He was in love with Cleo and it was not his obligation to considerate others emotions towards him. Fans are only mad 'cause they think it was Abe obligation to correspond the love Joan have for him when it is an awful thing. Nobody is entitled to the love of anybody. Plus JFK in S1 only want to use women, he was a womaniser who despite 'fatties and cheat every five seconds,' but apparently that's better than Abe? Naaahhh.
Really hope this gets retconned by Lord and Miller, so that this is all just the consequence of the clones getting freezer burn on their brains. That is the only way we can forgive this tragedy.
i doubt it. this is added to the list of things i wish would be removed from series cannon tho. like db super or boruto or yashahime all od which is proof to me were in the wrong timeline
I honestly don’t even understand WHAT the new clones are trying to satirize, and how they feel about being clones. It’s like the writers forgot that these characters are clones of historical figures. Yes, the 3 new gen clones each represent a stereotype but the show doesn’t say ANYTHING about them. In the first clone high, Cleo was satirizing “mean girls” and flipped the trope by acting like what an actual, realistic mean girl would be like, manipulative and charismatic. I feel like there was so much potential with Frida and Confucius’ character.
Im praying that the new Futurama doesn’t fall for the same mistakes as this new Clone High. It just feels as of late shows are trying too hard on being meta about current day trends.
I don’t think so. Cause at least the Hulu revival of futurama remains unchanged from the Comedy Central one in terms of animation. And plus the writers of Futurama is way smarter and got most of the OG crew back along with it. So yeah everything is fine.
Honestly as much as the current state of meta humor sucks, this reboot would’ve been better if it was meta. Like actually acknowledged and mocked tired tropes in TV instead of sincerely committing to them. First season was meta in the best way possible
The worst part about this sequel is that the Christopher Columbus screaming at his computer joke would've been funnier if JFK only sent memes and GIF's
I like how the creators also forgot about cleo and abes past relationship like it never existed Thanks for agreeing guys i thought i was the few who noticed this lol
Im still not over this Weren’t they both very much in love for the majority of the series? Youd think after prom theyd talk about it or even Cleo would get vindictive against Abe and Joan but its like they never even met
For a review of a bad reboot, this video actually got me feeling the same sort of emotions that you probably felt when watching the show itself, mostly through the little bits of horror and editing techniques you used in this video, it feels like a very creative way of conveying your thoughts and I like that.
the part where you mentioned if the writers even saw the first season was EXACTLY what i was thinking. its like they didn't even watch the first season or knew anything about the foundation of the characters. abe did not deserve that character assassination ):
The first episode is still my favorite episode because of how great it established each character and it’s so damn funny as well as quoteable. “If we don’t increase the drinking laws the excitement of sneaking around and getting WASTED MIGHT DISAPPEAR. Do you want that on your shoulders pal?”
The old characters like JFK act like skinwalkers doing a mediocre job, I guess being frozen for 20 years can really damage your brain and the reason Abe got done dirty was because the younger writers on season two said they hated him and misunderstood some of the jokes from season one. Also most of season 2's attempts at jokes and being progressive gave me massive mental pain from how unfunny and/or cringe they were.
The new Futurama season looks like it will be the exact same as the previous seasons judging by the trailer but even when looking at the Clone High season 2 trailer you can tell that it is nothing like the old show, Futurama will be fine
It’ll probably be like the CC revival seasons where the first couple of episodes are rough & a bit too topical before they move into better material. As long as they nail the finale, we should be good
Futuramas team is super passionate and love writing on the show so they always come back where as clone high s2 has new writers which do need time to mesh and get used to writing the characters
As someone who is related to Harriet Tubman and seeing her depicted like that, didn’t even know who I was looking at until I searched up who the hell that black woman was💀
Something I love about this review is that you didn’t mention Ghandi too much because people who review say it lacks Ghandi but whatever they’ve already damaged can’t mean that Ghandi would’ve been fine that he returned.
This is what I love about Dumbsy His videos are normally kind of silly and are "over-edited" with memes (and yeah, that's the sense of humour), but he also give genuine, honest opinions and views on the things he reviewing. What he expect and love from media, what disappointment and missed potential he saw, what things he wished to be improved. I feel like I'm not doing a great job explaining this, but overall Dumbsy, if you're reading this, just know I love your videos.
When I watched and finished the show, literally hours before your video, I was excited to watch the next season. After the first episode I was in awe at how big the 180 was in writing and character. I stopped after the first episode and then watched your video. I'm deeply sorry you went through the entire second season, but I'm glad you've helped prevent me from watching it.
Funny you mention how three new characters look like fan-characters, when there are fans that made Clone High OCs and look a lot better than what we got, and prioritized looking like the people they're supposed to be clones of. Also also, fans have made redesigns of the new clones, should really check that stuff out - Or not, cuz it's sad!
I can’t believe they missed the opportunity to add Muhammad Ali in the show. He could have been a cool school bully or trash talker. Plus, he also had a great story. He also fought for the rights of Afro-Americans. I personally think he could have been a more interesting character than Harriet Tubman or Confucius.
I like to imagine the entire of season 2 being satire. i think this because the first season was a critique of teen dramas. now we know were at a point where most reboots suck and destroy any sort of character development or a character overall. season 2 did exactly that.
Yeah such an Assassination nobody should ever change after only one year of Highschool ever, nope were all just the same people allways, she should have just kept being rejected by Abe over and over and over just like season one right ?
@@MotherLover1984 "Abe I want You" Shhhh "The many many many times the ongoing joke about how many times Abe imidiatley went to Cleo, even if Abe wasn't aware, doesn't change he was being a dick.
This is a good reminder that, whenever people want something to be revived, especially if it's something that got prematurely, there's a 99% chance that it will turn out BAD if it did happen. Even the 1% that were successful can be disappointing.
"Even the 1% that were successful can be disappointing" Unless it's Blade Runner 2047, Ducktales 2017, Beavis and Butthead 2022, or Puss In Boots The Last Wish (does that count as a reboot?) then they're genuinely successful and great. Seriously you sound bleaker than some of the teen dramas the original Clone High mocked.
Anyone else find it ironic that the show treats Abe like he's JFK. Remember JFK was the creepy womanizer not Abe. But people want to downplay his behavior or attribute it to Abe.
Well of course Christopher Columbus is, to these modern shitlibs, the final boss of White Supremacy. So he's not allowed to be a likeable character with real development.
Let's see: • Gratuitous Violence • Unfunny sex jokes • Flandarized shells of once beloved characters • Random political namedrops that make the characters out to be left-wing stereotypes • Lazy meta comedy Clone high really became the new Velma, huh?
It's at least comforting to know other people felt the same way watching that mess. It was the best example of digging up a grave and dangling the body on strings to pretend its the original. We are sad that this happened, but we should be glad its over, hopefully forever
Nah I don’t think it should be canceled again I think people got a chance to change if u make criticism videos like this hopefully the writers can watch and see this. I think towards the end they where aware of the criticisms n heat it was getting/back lash from higher ups n I think it should be given another 2-3 seasons before it goes off again I really enjoyed the horror aspects of it and not all the writing is bad they just have to cut out the melenial humor about E scooters n shit. Certain phrases like topher saying u wanna have sex like Colin pherro made me go I can see bits of the original show n it really did have some good takes n plot lines so I wanna see more I just wanna see em utilize the history character tropes harder but making jokes about history characters is kinda tough and obscure I don’t know many funny historians but u can make anything funny and yeah Stray away from trying to relate with 16 year old tweens who use social media that side of it makes fans irk I believe they are self aware enough I don’t think the fans are self aware enough to know it’s parody n that’s the problem with comedy writing a lotta times that aspect or satire goes over peoples heads n they just think wow what libtards but yah I would agree if it just starts getting into selfie stick shit for the Later seasons why keep this thing on life support to it’s former glory but I wanna see it do good n hope they can fix the problems going forward
I genuinely would have been more happy if they just never made season 2. It sucked so hard that I actually would have PREFERRED the show just ending on a cliffhanger that never gets resolved.
To be fair. It would been fittingly meta for the show to end like that. As if it was parodying shows that ended in cliffhangers in an attempt to get a new season.
Jesus christ thank god there are actual people that understand how the reboot fucked the whole series up and made no sense. I keep seeing videos of people defending this terrible reboot like its no tomotrow. The only thing good about it was the opening theme made by the actual old song writers of the first theme song for the first season.
In my head cannon, everyone got brain damage from being frozen too long and all the new characters were given brain damage too to not make the original clones feel too stupid. With my self-inflicted gaslighting, the show is still barely watchable.
I love how you can tell in each dumbsy video what new media he is currently obsessed with. The suspicious amount of cruelty squad clips in this video gives it away lol😅
I'd say one thing you missed is how Joan and JFK did have some amount of development in the original as a couple. Like JFK said how he didn't even expect to have sex with Joan when they got together. Which is such a great development for the jock character meant to be the one who has the most sex. That aspect of JFK not originally getting with Joan to bang gets ruined in the new one like immediately.
As an art nerd, THANK YOU for mentioning Frida Khalo's (irl one) story. She had such a horrible life (abuse, being groomed) and you see it in her art like in the painting you brought up or in many, many others. While i personally don't care much for clone high I really don't know what to think about what they did with her in the show. She is one of my favourite artists and this just kind of feels so out of touch with her story.
Tbh I think the reason why Cleo's new voice sounds so off is probably because of the direction they gave for the new voice actress rather than herself. Seeing how little the staff seems to understand and know the characters, I don't doubt they probably instruction her with "act like a snoobish popular girl" or stuff like this.
Just Stop made a similar video about this very topic and he made the great point that the show is no longer a parody of teen dramas - it just is one. The original show was never meant to be taken seriously or at face value, but the reboot keeps acting like it’s making some great serious social commentary when it’s really just the most obnoxious, preaching, overdone BS ever.
I might be looking into it too much but as someone with autism I could relate to abe so the fact that they made him an asshole in the reboot seems like “if you don’t know social skills ur a bad person” aka hating on autistic ppl
Normally I'd see this as "looking too deep into it," but this is actually exactly how I feel lmao. I wouldn't go as far to say that the writers meant to hate on autistic people, as Abe probably didn't have it to begin with, but I related with his ineptitude, and it seems like the writers REALLY don't understand that there really are people who mean well and just can't read others well.
The gore really got to me when I was watching this season, like the first episode alone had Abe bleeding profusely at least 3 times and it was just so uncomfortable to look at, not even him getting messed by the knork was that bad
In the original show, the main cast was small enough so that each individual character could have enough screen time in order to make an impact. No main character felt "left out" or "bland". NOW because of the extra 4 main characters, the show doesn't even know what to do with them all anymore. Certain characters get all the spotlight whilst others feel almost non-existent at times. It leaves some of the main cast so bland and uninteresting that even some background characters from the original like Toots or Van Gogh have more personality altogether.
i can feel the sadness in your voice, like the real pain of heart that you fell when the things you really like and/or were a big factor in your life get ruined. I had the same feeling with RWBY and Witcher
Oh, yes. Confucius, a person who believed in filial piety and power of the state, would definitely use social media. Strangely, he would also be a 100% free-thinker and would be a total bro! He absolutely wouldn't be a parodied as an overachieving Asian stereotype, with a metajoke about how his conformist ways are actually effective, yet still neuter his development. He absolutely wouldn't use some variation of, "So I said..." in his speech patterns either! - A student studying Chinese Cultural Development
You know, it’s times like this where I question where all the real passion went into these properties. Like yes, there still are plenty of great films and shows and games coming out in this time of ours, but like back then it just felt like people cared about making a property “good” instead of just “good enough.” Is that bad to say? Idk, maybe I’ve been chasing ghosts for too long.
The real passion is probably in properties made by indie creators, who don’t have almost guaranteed success in everything they put out so what they spend time on is something they actually feel passionate about
I believe it is one of 2 things 1 artist don’t wanna work on ur idea they wanna work on they’re own and are being forced to do the work after years of developing a skill & going to school they’re already burnt out from that but r now told u gotta prove your worth to be a art director or make a living n that makes people unhappy, that makes them cut corners to save energy there’s only so much art u can do before u r so fried n done with the process but why the background characters look really good in the first episode then start looking terrible half way through the art style dipped in many ways when it’s actually the opposite u have so many more tools to make ur art better yet they do make it lazier now. 2 I think back in the day people where just passionate about being on a animated TV show it was a huge accomplishment and still is but I think it was all so new and u had people who where pioneers of the technology just really passionate about what they where all making nowadays a lotta stuff is for cash & a lotta times the animators just get treated like slaves building the pyramids for a ruler sitting on his ass doing “joke writing” “voice acting” “directing” awh such a hard days work NOTTTT! I am making a show and I’ll always have control and work with my employees if I get the opportunity to make sure the art style is always on point n my employees are passionate about what they’re working on & payed fairly treated fairly n that finally yah I am working with them to make the art direction as good as it can be if u are just paying a big animation studio to do ur art and ur doing very little your self it shows. This show really suffered from too many peoples hands in the pie in the writers room I think weirdly enough they have to cut back on staff or hire new ones that made it just such a mixed bag when the r original was like 9/10 landed the jokes n was pretty funny n in throughout maybe 1/3rd of the stuff landed here a lotta it was trash melenial humor and anything with having a teenage girl going bruh we should like animate a podcast ur blowing up on Tweetstagram is always gonna feel passionless soulless and lame they really need to bar the gates of Hollywood to those that care and put in the work not trend chasers who get they’re style of comedy and senses of humor from the internet.
I genuinely think the writers were afraid of putting the new characters in situations that made them unlikable or flawed. They don’t have a personality outside of being “nice” with the main characters. This may have to do with Gandhi. Since he was portrayed as a flawed, eccentric, and comedic version of himself. Which ended up getting them into controversy. Imagine if Gandhi was portrayed as just radical, extreme, and agreeable with everyone. He’d become a clone of poochie. Like imagine if they portrayed Harriet Tubman’s over ambitious in a way that’d make sense. For example you have a plot in where she wants to become class president. So her over ambition results in her using violence to get her way. Which could be at the expense of her. Since she only has a surface level understanding of Harriet Tubman. Based on the idea of her carrying guns. Kind of like how in S1, JFK misinterprets himself due to him idolizing over the real life figure. This is covering over existing grounds before sure. But I think exploring the flaws and faults of history figures is really educational. Hell, the cancel culture episode could of worked in showing us how historical figures aren’t perfect. Instead of the episode turning out the way it did.
The white man confidence song alone gave me stage 12 cancer Frida is by way the worse character on the show. Its like she came straight from velma....but somehow still worse. "No fib that simp just got took" Whoever came up with this line should in handcuffs
Confucius and Frida could have worked imo. Confucius being online could have been funny if he pointed out issues with social media and or meme culture, how the internet was meant to connect us but ultimately pulls us apart. Frida being an artist could have been chill on the outside, but having a deep rooted anxiety that was expressed in the art she made. Frida in the current show paints like once.
Not surprised to hear about the reaction to Gandhi. Having extensive work experience with India, I have never seen a culture more xenophobic, homophobic, misogynistic, hedonistic, thin-skinned, hypocritical, or so full of casual cruelty. Throwing themselves into histrionics over a harmless cartoon character is very on brand.
I've been on youtube since 2006, but the thing that made me finally make an account was the final episode of clone high on youtube being age-restricted. I've rewatched it so many times I've lost count. I also own the physical dvd, so I'm a massive fan of the series. I was so excited for the day that season 2 was coming out, you have no idea. And it's all so heartbreaking. But the thing I cant stop thinking about is the creators. I can't imagine how bad they feel. They spent their careers consistently making some of the biggest and best animated movies ever made, trying the entire time to get back to their small passion project, and when they finally got back to it, it was ruined; it was massively awful for so many reasons. That was supposed to be _it_ for them, the dream project. They've missed 2/3 shots they've taken at this, and I don't think the last will land, especially with the current writers being bad and the writer's strike going on right now. I doubt they can just fire everybody and start from scratch. I think they're terrified of jeopardizing their Hollywood careers to be honest. Yeah in 2003 their show could get cancelled and that would be it. But in 2023 that cancelation could result in them no longer being able to make actual blockbusting movies. They're THE biggest animators in hollywood right now, that's a once in a lifetime thing that most people never dream of. Can you honestly say you'd throw all of that away because you accidentally stepped on the wrong toes? If the thing that ruined their pet project the first time ends up happening again, there is a very real chance it will have a negative impact on their Hollywood careers. And I hate it, but I don't blame them.
I really hate how flandarized/insufferable they made joan, the whole nostalgia episode was so irritating especially with how she treated abe AFTER what jfk and harriet did to her like- she got CHEATED on and it got solved with some stupid 7 stages of grief but noo she just had to drop abe because he wanted to protect her feelings. the cheating could have made for interesting episode drama but it was just rushed aside
I really don't know why anyone expected this to be good. After they said Gandhi wasn't coming back, I knew it wouldn't be good. If they were too afraid to bring Gandhi back, they're gonna be too afraid to make any sorta jokes they made in season 1.
It was the meddling that killed it. The big wig who came in and said “nah boys, Joan is the main character now.” effectively killed this show right off the bat.
If anybody told me that Harriet Tubman and Confucius were background characters instead of cloned versions of actual people, I would believe it
Topher Bus is hilarious, though.
Topher Bus actually looks like he could fit in the original show. Frida doesn’t look that bad. Yeah, her outfit is a bit, much on the eyes, but she’s an artist.

(btw just wanted to make this clear, there are other characters that got flanderized too, but Abe might be one of the worst cases here. Like bro is down egregious.. 😔)
people thought he was too mean in the original so they changed his character to be overly friendly and stupid and people like him more now
I agree Just Stop also gave a great reasoning as why Abe works as a character as well
Same here! Abe's character is very misunderstood.

It’s only the new fans and the writers who unironically didn’t understand Abe’s obliviousness doesn’t make him an asshole.

@@phoenixdouchebag904 that's a pretty good point. I didn't think about that.
Bros literally saw what Velma did to the industry and were like, "alright, bet!"
Jesus christ thank god there are actual people that understand how the reboot fucked the whole series up and made no sense. I keep seeing videos of people defending this terrible reboot like its no tomotrow. The only thing good about it was the opening theme made by the actual old song writers of the first theme song for the first season.
Exactly how I feel man, 100%
I’m glad Dumbsy is going the analogue horror route.
In my head cannon, everyone got brain damage from being frozen too long and all the new characters were given brain damage too to not make the original clones feel too stupid. With my self-inflicted gaslighting, the show is still barely watchable.
the OG show was one of my favorite cartoons, but seeing the reboot, i cannot really say the same about it tbh
I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone expected this reboot to be good.
Truly a reboot moment.💀
No
You see
Those character assasinations make sense because the real historical figure all got assasinated too
i can feel the sadness in your voice, like the real pain of heart that you fell when the things you really like and/or were a big factor in your life get ruined. I had the same feeling with RWBY and Witcher
It sucks
It really sucks
Sure IT’s entertainment
But these shows touched you i dah heart
Season 2 of Clone High is the definition of character assassination. They massacred the entire cast.
There needs to be a reboot of season 2.
This Season felt like Modern Family Guy.
Which is a low bar

The white man confidence song alone gave me stage 12 cancer
Frida is by way the worse character on the show. Its like she came straight from velma....but somehow still worse.
"No fib that simp just got took"
Whoever came up with this line should in handcuffs
Confucius and Frida could have worked imo. Confucius being online could have been funny if he pointed out issues with social media and or meme culture, how the internet was meant to connect us but ultimately pulls us apart. Frida being an artist could have been chill on the outside, but having a deep rooted anxiety that was expressed in the art she made. Frida in the current show paints like once.
How can Phil Lord and Chris Miller can go from Across The Spiderverse to this?
Season 2 came out a week or 2 before ATSV
Because they were busy working on spiderverse
Because it has been 20 years, people change...
@@snowbunnie1113 It's been barely a month since atsv, wdym 20 years
Phil and Chris don't write for clone high
I never understood the hate Abe got, he didn't seem like a bad guy, just incredibly oblivious. Great vid Dumbs!
if they make a third season i hope that they learn from their mistakes🤦♀🤦♀🤦♀
Hopefully
We’re most likely to be disappointed again
let's hope they don't make a third season.
They could have gone so much harder on Gandhi that's the weird thing he's treated very nicely in OG clone high
Clone high went from making fun of teen dramas to becoming one.
It’s actually so horrendous what they did to these characters they all need justice especially Cleo and Abe
It was the meddling that killed it. The big wig who came in and said “nah boys, Joan is the main character now.” effectively killed this show right off the bat.
