The couple at the very beginning of the video who flew to Manchester from America own a coffee shop (Heartwork Coffee) here in San Diego. I learned this because a few years ago I stopped in unaware and the guy taking my order somehow looked familiar to me but I just couldn’t place it. Then I saw the boxing gloves tattoo peeking out from underneath his t-shirt and it clicked! I had to ask if it was him and sure enough it was and there was his wife behind the bar as well! He said he proposed to her on that trip.
It was quite surreal meeting him so unexpectedly like that; at that point I must have seen him in this intro 50 times and there he was! They seem like real nice people and as far as I can tell their shop (at least before the pandemic) was doing quite well. And of course they play plenty of The Smiths and Morrissey in the shop.
Yep, still here. Now in 2020
This is possibly the finest concert and performance of any artist ever seen. Absolutely faultless.

Brilliant! I’m obsessed with ‘There Is A Light That Never Goes Out’ and their stage exit. I think I fall more in love with Morrissey, his band and The Smiths as the years go by. I will forever remember a cold, rainy New Year’s Eve in San Francisco in the late 90’s and a coffee shop where The Smiths were playing on a jukebox. I was so very new to their music but I’m recalling now everyone in that little coffee shop singing along to the music. As an aspiring writer/lyricist, I was so impressed by all the lyrics. I was just 17 then. My boyfriend played The Smiths/Morrissey in the car that whole weekend and it was one of the most romantic few days of my life… This was most definitely one of his best concerts! Thank you for sharing.

Morrisseys lyrics are just so unique. He’s definitely one of a kind. A lot more grown up and tame here but every bit as talented. Genius.

Pure brilliance as usual, shame the boys and girls were not able to contact with him due to restraint, pure brilliance from a great artist and yes, every day is like sunday.
