Yes that so true. I was a divorced.. single mother when i met my husband. I didn't know what was Islam.mashallah we have a very good relationship even with his family.. I convert to Islam 13yr ago and Subhanallah. 14 yrs my marriage is still on.. Inshallah will stay together til the deaths

Polygamy is abused by many Muslim men looking to please their desires. The Quran clearly stipulates : a man is legally permitted to have up to four wives. However, this permission is restricted by the Quran's saying that justice must be done, and if a man fears injustice, he must be content with one wife only.
This is why our Muslim community is void of blessings.
We tend to do things to please our ego and desires at the expense of pleasing our Creator.
May Allah taala guide us all.

first i dont think much about divorced person because almost none on my family got divorced (only one).. now i experienced myself, how divorced woman sometimes being looked down by men..like we are less worth than single woman.. but then i also realized how great Rasulullah S.A.W, he marry widowed to raise honor and dignity of themselves.. more importantly he knows how hard to be single parent to take care kids on their own.. n all he does just to help in the sake of Allah S.W.T.. how glorius Rasulullah S.A.W.. I don't usually comment, but Sheikh this one really touched me, I wish I had seen this lecture a long time ago. I once loved a woman who was divorced. She was a good woman, but because of our "culture" I was very confused about what to do. If it was right or not to marry her. And in the end she left, because of my way of thinking, I wasn't fair to her and it still hurts me today. Don't make the same mistake as me. May Allah make it easier for all of us, beloved brothers and sisters. May Allah swt bless you all, and you Sheikh.

Some men marry divorcees then tell her after he has married her to get rid of her children because "Islamically" they should be with the Father and then she chooses to divorce. You can't tear a Mother away from her children.

They must make it clear before marriage.
And never take advantage or neglect any children, yours or your spouse.
This is more about culture than islam. Children need their nurturing mother.
Talk about bad step mothers too. Even single women with kids can do the same thing as a step mother.

It is so difficult in this day and age. I've never been married but I have had potentials that have been divorced and I did not look at that as an issue. However, these guys think the world owes them something just because their marriage did not work out and play the victim and instead judge us for not being 'perfect'. I pray that Allah swt guides us all towards good and not judge others Ameen.

I am my husband second wife. Before you marry a divorce, look into their past. Tell him how your family is and about yourself. From experience, I am saying this, when you hide how your family are like and later on he finds out, he will start regretting and make comments. Let him decide, if he still wants to marry you. You dont want him to regret and tell you this after couple of years of the marriage. I regret of not telling him openly and now he says, how his ex wifes family was and his second marriage with me, he fell into a problematic family.

I was interested in a man and he was really interested in me for marriage we approached the family but his father disapproved several times, I always believed he would be a good husband to me but because his father didn’t like the background of my own fathers illness he didn’t let his son proceed any further. We have left it now but it still hurts me how wrong this is and how culture has taken over Islam! Ya rab make marriage easier for us.

Virgin man should never marry non Virginia woman.The prophet married widows not divorces.And 90 percent of the sahabas practiced polygamy.

I’ve been divorced twice and my first marriage was arranged and I had to beg to divorce him the same day I married because I was not in love and I’m 28 with one child with my ex husband which was my second husband technically. I have not been with several men I’ve only been married! I’ve been single and focused in my motherhood and my Deen. Crazy I have never met so many men that are so ignorant and cruel against our own women. I was brought up to only marry. I could not even date! I was not Muslim. I was Apostolic. I’m so happy I accepted Allah in my heart. I hope some day I re marry and for my last time. Some of these comments are sad. But may Allah continue to guide us.

Gru Ninja no just she was not practicing Islam ;) despite been born. But we are different culture I’m Brazilian French and reverted to Islam he is Sri Lankan ;) but I adapted myself to asian culture so we can have less issues:)
Sometimes we need to sacrifice culture to move forward Islam a beautiful faith so just focusing in the Islamic rules can overcome cultural issues ;)
