I asked my mum this too. She said: your mother raised you and brought you onto this world, your wife has left all her family and everything to come start a new life with you. You should be good to both and somehow try your hardest to be good to both and take care of both.
What did the wife leave? Because it's really just part of growing up and evolving to move out ouf your family's house and a make a life for yourself. It's not some big sacrifice. I'm not trying to argue who should come first but I'm trying to point out that doesn't really make sense.
@@johnlemon1977 she left her whole family, her friends, everyone she knows behind for her husband, she left the comfort of her own home to serve her husband and in-laws, at maternal home, girls more at ease, but at in laws house, the girl has a thousand responsibilities on her head and has thousands of expectations from husband and in laws. So yes the wife has made way more sacrifices than a man could ever. The husband can easily live with his parents and then allow his parents to boss his wife around and treat the wife as a slave but would the husband do the same for his wife? Would the husband leave his family behind and move to his wife's city?
@@johnlemon1977 truth is...girls are EXPECTED to make the sacrifices, we have to sacrifice our careers, or wants and desires, just so our husbands and his family and our kids can stay happy. While the man could do what he wants.
@JH men physically are a lot stronger but women are more stronger by heart. Women can endure more that's why Allah has made women give birth not men. Yes I'm not denying men do have to make sacrifices but women have to make waaaay more. Did you know some men end up either getting a second wife or having affairs because either they are bored of the wife or wife has had a baby and her body is not the same. Men have way more privileges and advantages then women hence why men can go out late and women cant hence why when a women's reputation is tainted it's a lot harder for her compared to a man who has way more privileges and the upper hand. Islamically I know men and women are equal and women are not oppressed but I'm talking about culture here. Culture wise? Men have the upper hand and that is a fact. The women always gets blamed if something goes wrong. The women is expected and demanded to serve his whole family when she doesnt have to. To put it simple culture has made daughter in laws slaves.

@@FieldMarshalRommel23 Who is Allah? He is Allah, the One and Only; Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He begets not, nor was He begotten; And there is none like unto Him. (Quran 112) What is Islam? Islam simply means submission to one and only Allah, the creator, the sustainer, the most merciful, the lord of the heaven and the earth. Followers of Islam called Muslim. Allah sent many prophets and messenger (approximately 124000, but only 25 of them mentioned in the Quran) throughout the human history to guide people to submit to one God (Allah). Adam was his first human creation, first human being and first prophet of Allah. We are the children of Adam and Hawa(Eve). Actually, Muslims believe in prophethood, they came one after another. Some of them are, Adam-Adam, Noah-Nuh, Abraham-Ibraheem, Ishmael-Ismael, Issac-Ishaq, Jacob-Yakub, Moses-Musa, David-Dawood, Solomon-Suleiman, Jesus-Isa and Muhammad. Allah also send revelation(scriptures) to his messengers. Such as, Moses (Musa) got Torah/Taorat David (Dawood) got Psalms/Zabur Jesus (Isa) got Gospels/Injeel Muhammad got Quran. Prophets and Messengers of Allah came to earth for a specific time to guide specific people. For example, After Moses(Musa), Jesus(Isa) came to guide people of Israel(Jews). After Jesus(Isa), Muhammad came to guide the whole mankind not only for Arabs or Asians. He is known as the last and final prophet of Allah. So, today we need to follow teachings of prophet Muhammad.
Allah Allmighty gave miracles to Prophets. Some of the famous one are, Noah's Ark, Moses's Splitting the Sea, Jesus's miraculous birth, Muhammad's Journey to Heaven. All the prophets, came to guide people to worship one lord, Allah. And Islam means submission to the will of Allah. So, all the prophets preached the religion of "Islam" and they all were Muslim. 'Islam' (submission to one lord) is not a new religion, it began with prophet Adam. It is the religion of Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus & Muhammad. (Peace be upon them)

"JUSTICE COMES FIRST; NAVIGATE THE WATER WITH A LOT OF RESPECT" For our sisters living with the presence of their Mother-in-law, there's no need to let the husband choose between you two, just do not close the Door of Jannah of your husband. And to our Mothers, treat your daughter-in-law like your own child and how you want your daughter to be treated by their in-laws.
There is this quote (I can't recall who from) about juggling between two responsibilities. The key is to recognize, when you are juggling, that some balls are made of glass and will break if they are dropped, while some are made of plastic so it's okay to drop them since they will just bounce back up. Sometimes you have to let go of the plastic ball in order to catch the glass ball. Sound advice, I think, since its never all or nothing; it's choosing which things are important at that moment.
SubhanAllah beautifully explained. Balance and justice is the what’s missing in our lives.. we forget that we are ultimately obedient to Allah only. May Allah grant us the ability to understand and follow his guidelines, Ameen

@@happyguy201. Happy guy, simple and common sense, as a mother do not have one child, she might have several children, so if your brother and sister are all in jannah and who will she be with. Will she be divide into 4 or 5 parts. Then your wife is with you as well in jannah and her mother will have the same problem. Will her mother be divided onto 4 or 5 or even more. Then your mother and her mother will have their mothers with them in jannah and the chain will go on and on and on and then there will be only one room in jannah over crowded until we all eventually be with our original father Adam and mother Hawwa. Hello, Do You mind if I share a brief overview of Islam?
@@rihanulkarim3997 of course not, go ahead brother.
@@FieldMarshalRommel23
Who is Allah?
He is Allah, the One and Only;
Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;
He begets not, nor was He begotten;
And there is none like unto Him.
(Quran 112)
What is Islam?
Islam simply means submission to one and only Allah, the creator, the sustainer, the most merciful, the lord of the heaven and the earth. Followers of Islam called Muslim.
Allah sent many prophets and messenger (approximately 124000, but only 25 of them mentioned in the Quran) throughout the human history to guide people to submit to one God (Allah).
Adam was his first human creation, first human being and first prophet of Allah. We are the children of Adam and Hawa(Eve). Actually, Muslims believe in prophethood, they came one after another. Some of them are,
Adam-Adam, Noah-Nuh, Abraham-Ibraheem,
Ishmael-Ismael,
Issac-Ishaq, Jacob-Yakub,
Moses-Musa, David-Dawood,
Solomon-Suleiman, Jesus-Isa and Muhammad.
Allah also send revelation(scriptures) to his messengers. Such as,
Moses (Musa) got Torah/Taorat
David (Dawood) got Psalms/Zabur
Jesus (Isa) got Gospels/Injeel
Muhammad got Quran.

@JH the best among u is the one who is at best behaviour with his wives.. Prophet PBUH
@JH ok so what exactly is ill manner here? Crying on floor throwing tantrum? It applies vice versa.. some men need discipline too.. it applies to increase iman and knowledge... and also a woman is said to be born from tilted rib doesnt needs to be straighten...
@JH It was regarding Parents, not between Wife and Mother.
Stand for justice...so rightly said...what is wrong is wrong...be kind n respectful to your parents...jazakallah for reminding us...

"JUSTICE COMES FIRST; NAVIGATE THE WATER WITH A LOT OF RESPECT"
For our sisters living with the presence of their Mother-in-law, there's no need to let the husband choose between you two, just do not close the Door of Jannah of your husband.
And to our Mothers, treat your daughter-in-law like your own child and how you want your daughter to be treated by their in-laws.
Alhamdulillah
Mashallah great comment. Fully agree with what you said. It's both ways.
May Allah bless you with the best in this world and with the highest ranks in jannah for raising this issue Aameen
SubhanAllah beautifully explained. Balance and justice is the what’s missing in our lives.. we forget that we are ultimately obedient to Allah only.
May Allah grant us the ability to understand and follow his guidelines, Ameen

I love you Sheik, you are an honest man who speaks from the heart,
may Allah bless you your family and your loved ones.
Allahu Akbar! Ya Mufti... It's like you just spoke directly to me!
Me & my wife were kicked out of home by my own parents after 8 months of nikkah without any valid reason
& they haven't spoke a word with us for more than a year now - despite all my genuine attempts🥺😢 Me & my wife stay now in my wife's home.
PLS MAKE DHUA for us to reunite with my parents! 🤲🏻
@ sheikh fareed may Allah make it easy for you and your wife and guide your parents but why would your parents kick you out for no reason?
Folks, remember your mother is the way to Jannah but you will be accompanying your wife in Jannah not your mother. Think about it this way. Mufti Menk is right. Jazak Allah khair for this. Justice, justice and sincere justice,
@ruheena Shah What do you mean you will not be accompanying your mother in jannah? insha'Allah we will be with all our loved ones in jannah not just with our wives.
So be sensible. That’s why Allah s.w.t. The most High said that we will only be with our spouses in Jannah. Got it. 👍
@@ruheenashah6625 both my parents have gained highest ranks in jannah. Most recently our beutiful beloved mother age 63 on 14th Ramadhan/Friday 15th April 2022 just before jummah. Are you telling me that we her children will not see our parents in jannah? And which verse says in Qur'an that we will only be in jannah?
@@happyguy201 dude your mother has a husband too right?? her husband ( your father) will accompany her the same way you do with your wife, and yeah you'll see each other there too but you'll have to accompany your partners. that's how JANNAH IS BUILT.
You are awesome,I love listening to him hez too human more than anything else. I have become your fan.
Masha’Allah l truly enjoy listening to Mufti Menk.
Unfortunately in Pakistan this is the main issue due to which most couples could not make their relation long lasting and they divorced each other.....like my ex mother in law and sister in law dragged our marriage to divorced and finally we divorced each other.....I am wondering that the parents who love their children so much and they Use to do anything for their happiness and prosperity why dont they think that they are making their children to have haram relation after divorce and it will have bad consequences in this world and In hereafter:(......may Allah grant understanding to all of us...ameen
Very unjust , Allah swt will deal with them, culture has to die!!!
Emotionally and mentally harming and blackmailing them Disgusting, Allah swt is with the oppressed!!!
Love is not ruining the lives of innocent people!!!!!!!
You didn't need a man like that anyway who couldn't support you and honour you as his wife!
@mr system I am not a child neither this is just in my family....I am from Pakistan and I know that what's happening there.....I am not saying its happening in all over Pakistan but 80% families have the same issue.....you must observe who is childish and who is using disgraceful words in comments...
