Thank you, what a thoughtful comment-I do appreciate it.
I am retired psychologist who started out as a concert pianist and artist 50 yrs ago…I finally came back to my art…I HAVE NEVER LIKED COLLAGE…BUT…THIS IS THE FIRST TIME SOMEONE MAY HAVE CHANGED MY MIND…THANKS TO YOU I MAY HAVE TO GIVE IT A GO…LOVELY WORK…very nice and motivating…yes…gel prints too!💕
What a lovely comment, I’m honored you are finding inspiration in my effort! Thank you so much!
I so agree with you ,I also dont like collage but placing paper over a background is so good. I have so many papers that I have made. I am going into my studio today, thankyou
@@barbriley583 agree. Bx
Sooo inspiring for me! Thank you, merci from South of France
Glad you enjoyed; thank you!!!
Just found your channel wonderful inspiring work. Thankyou !
Thank you! Hope to keep your interest💕
I just found your channel and I just loved this demonstration on collage. I too am new at this and am loving it! I am now a subscriber to your channel. 😊
Thank you for subscribing-I have been taking a break for the last month but am getting ready to start creating again! So happy to have you here!😊
They are beautiful collages, they would look great framed and displayed on a wall together! ❤❤
Thank you Kari!! I’ve thought about framing-May have to give it a go!
Botanical gel prints and collage are my favorite. I like that your compositions are not grids. The organic shapes are so much mire interesting. (And challenging!)
Thanks for the feedback, I love the challenge of organic shapes in collage!
Thank you so much Peg I really really enjoyed watching you create these stunningly beautiful and gorgeous collage pieces and I hope you are going to frame them as they need to be seen and enjoyed by everyone. Yes I would certainly love ❤❤❤ to see how you make prints on your Gelliplate. I love ❤❤❤❤and adore these😂 pieces too. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much! I did frame and that is hanging in my house for now, likely switched out soon-I lose a lot when my daughters stop by😂
Oh Peg, these are wonderful! It’s so nice that you incorporated some of your index cards. Nice way to keep all of the prompts we work on tied together. You asked for ideas of how to solve that problem. In the way you solved is exactly how I solve the problem, cut it down and mounted on a clean piece of card stock. Good job. Excited to get started.!!!,
Thanks so much! I am enjoying the prompts-it gives me direction😂
Way to go.....Cool.....................😻
Thank you!!!
Gorgeous Peg -- you are a natural with collage -- you bring everything you already know to the process ❤🧡💛
Thank you so much!
What a great collage idea. Would like to try this same effect with some fall leaves that I pressed dried a few months ago.
That would look great! Glad you liked the outcome of mine!
absolutely stunning. and such fun to watch. i love your taste.
Thank you so much! Pleased you enjoyed😊
Beautiful work. You definitely got me motivated!
THAnk you!! THat is so nice to hear!
Helen Wells has a great technique where she uses acrylic medium over the taped area to seal it. She uses mainly acrylic paints over the medium so you would be limited in that regard, but for clean edges, I consider it worth it. You could always add your textures down on additional paper? Hope this helps. I am a new subscriber here.
Great suggestions, I’ll check out Helen’s channel-glad you subscribed 💜. I’m very new to many things and love to receive comments and advice!
I've just seen this comment and this would work exactly the same way. Sorry for being repetitive. I love your channel, I've only just discovered you like a couple of hours ago and now I'm binging on your work haha 😊
@@homelessartist i rea. Every comnent and there is not a one i dont enjoy or learn from--wgen i hear the same thing several times it just reinforces the value💕
@@TwoOldCrowsMixedMedia thank you for replying, makes me feel valued 😍. You've inspired me to do some backgrounds with some leaves, either frottage or whatever the posh word is for painting them and pushing them onto paper, is that still printing? Would it work on fabric do you think or would I need fabric paint?
❤❤❤ as usual. I love the idea of picking a pallet of colors for a theme. I think I've done that in the past without even thinking about it! Sometimes I surprise myself. I love collage but have trouble collating without a list of stuff to use!! I don't think I've done it with just color. TFS.
I’m new to collage so my theory….keep gluing until it looks good!!!
Loved this. Thanks for sharing.
You are so welcome! Appreciate the view❤️
So impressed! You would never know that you are a novice at collage. These prints are gorgeous! I love that you made three. I just did 38 more index card prints using your ecco print technique, so I have lots to play with this week. Had to grab as much from my burning bush as I could. The leaves will be gone completely in a couple of days. Interesting experiment, I didn't want to stop and used some of the leaves twice. They still had plenty to give. I picked them while they still had some morning moisture on them. Perhaps that helped! TFS. Have an excellent week. Looking forward to seeing what kind of collage I am able to come up with this week!
I’m so glad you are enjoying!! I’ve gathered quite a few myself!
Burning bush sounds like an intriguing plant. I used this technique on some flametree leaves/ petals & even though the petals are a vibrant red, they come out a beautiful grey-blue when compressed through a die cut machine - and that’s pre-rust treatment. Was very surprised & keep meaning to try dying some fabric & paper with them to see what happens
Sooooooo pretty❣️❣️❣️
Thank you and thank you for watching!
Great collages!
Thank you Michelle!
I came across your page by chance, and I am enchanted.... it's EXACTLY what I was looking for !!! Compliments, I like your work very much !!! I subscribed right away !!!
Thank you so much…I’m glad you found me! I hope I can keep you inspired😊
Me too
For bleed through, let it dry. Then put white gesso on over it. Apply layers of gesso but let each layer dry throughly in between layers. That should clean up your borders and they may be whiter than before
Thank you! Great tip!
I haven't read all the way through the comments to see if someone else hasn't already suggested this because I'll forget it before I get to the end lol but I have seen recently that a decorator's hack is that once they've put their decorator's tape in place they do a quick coat of whatever colour the rest of the wall is and let that dry. Then they paint over whatever colours the actual design will be and that way any bleed through hasn't spoiled the end effect because it's the same colour as the wall before they began. Apparently it's only the first paint layer that seeps through 🤷♀️.
I know it's not exactly perfect when using paper because even white paint will still be seen on white paper but it's a lot easier to disguise than yellow. If I can find the video I'll add it on to this comment. Hope this helps 😊
Thank you!! Great info!!
Haha I just saw that the other day. Great tip. Bx
Wonderful video ❤
Thank you Evie! So happy you are enjoying the prompts!
This was really inspiring! You might try a product called "mint tape" -- lower tack but still great at creating a clean edge.
Thank you…I’ll check the mint tape out!
Thank you!! a video how to print backgrounds would be wonderful.x
Great suggestion! I’ll work on that!
These are beautiful Peg and yes please , a video on how you do your gel print backgrounds would be very helpful.
Thank you; I’ll work on a gel press print video!
Love it!!! TFS!
You are so welcome! Thank you!
Lightly using a heat tool on tape before removing it is helpful.
I will try that next time I do a collage! Thank you!
Love this!
Thank you!!!
I love how you did all these collages at the same time with the same color theme! I am now thinking of a focal point to decorate with. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching! The possibilities are endless, I’m sure you’ll find the perfect focal!
Beautiful! I love them!
Thank you! 😊
Really love how they turned out - especially the one on the left. Interesting that the collage medium didn’t seal in the distress oxides. Blending it worked very nicely too.
The cut & glue was a great solution too 😊 My mind always jumps to the most complex solution, so I was thinking of cutting out a frame to put over the piece. Doing it the opposite way around is soooooo much easier lol. I have seen some people paint over bleed-through too. Unless you find exactly the right tape & burnish it down (but you have to know your paper will release it without tearing) I think bleeding is just a watercolour trait. You could use texture paste, some sand or grit or something, use a ruler to block off your collage & add some textured frames around it that way 🤔 Adds an extra element too
Great ideas! The distress oxides seem to always release with moisture for me….I did have a suggestion to seal the edges with gel medium first before anything else to prevent the bleed. Thanks for the great comment💕💕💕
Thanks for a lovely video!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching, I genuinely appreciate the support!!
Wonderful video Peg and your collage pieces are beautiful. I usually heat the tape with a heat tool before I pull it off. Just don’t heat it too much because sometimes it can leave a sticky residue which I can assure you is as annoying as the paper tearing. The other thing I do is rather than pulling the tape in a straight line whether vertically or horizontally I try and angle it so that it is pulling away from the painted edge (hard to describe). When -ain’t leaks under the tape then I sometimes paint over in white but that can sometimes be too obvious so I would do as you did in the video.
Thank you Kylie….this is the video I told you about on our chat😉
Love the colors you chose. I collage all the time but never with such intent. I shall give it a try. Thank you for the prompts each month!
Thank you! I’m enjoying the prompts-I love the direction😂
Absolutely stunning. Even the 'happy accidents' ...what would you say to a student of yours? Thank you for sharing the real challenges of your creative journey.
Thank you-I’m never certain if I should leave them in or edit them out…. Most projects take direction in an unforeseen sequence. 😂 when you get to the voice over -you just walk through the steps and there is generally discovery before the reveal😂. That is probably why the lives are popular, but I’m more of a 20 minute gal!
Tape solutions...heat with a hair dryer as you remove the tape and it won't pull up the paper, and, to keep from getting bleed through, after tape is down, seal the inside edge with a little medium. Hope this helps!
It most definitely does! Appreciate you taking the time to watch and share!
You can use a heat tool or a hair dryer to warm up the tape before you pull it off. So it doesn't rip your paper
Thanks for the tip; I do appreciate it😀
I would love to see your gelli printing process! I love your work so I subscribed thank you for this inspiration!
Thank you; I’m working on a gel press video now….coming soon!
beautiful....
Thank you💕
😊 I tried a glue eraser from amazon. It works great. 49dragonflies used one, so i had to try it. Since i usually get glue where i dont want it. It may take off other things. I dont know. If im remembering right, she used it right on her collage, only took off the glue. Take care,be safe. Your project looks great.0:11
I’m going to have to get a glue eraser! Thank you so much for the tip! I get glue, paint, whatever I’m working with everywhere!
Why are the leaves so light? Have they been painted? Lovely demo. I have zillions of sheet of collage papers that I have created but never "got" collage but this has really inspired me. I do a lot of botanicals so this really touched me. Regarding beeps through on border. I usually paint past that border to you could extend the collage adding a quirky detail. Bx
The leaves were index cards with the imprint made by running a fresh leaf through my hot shot between 2 index cards -glad you liked the outcome!
@@TwoOldCrowsMixedMedia oh yes ive been printing my fresh leaves madly before they all fall off and flyaway 😂. Perfect. Bx
@TwoOldCrowsMixedMedi. Very cool idea.
Try white gel pen to cover the bleed through.
Thanks!!!
I've used a little exacto knife combined with some sandpaper to remove blooper spots.
Great tip! Thank you!
Boy! Your glue is a far cry from mucilage glue we used as kids in elementary school. I’m 82yrs of age.
I’ve never heard of mucilage glue! I’ll have to look that up.
Best method is to not destick the tape first. Use it full strength. Then... before removing it, heat up the tape with a heat gun. The tape will protect your edges better, and oome off easier with the heat. : )
Thank you!!! I’ll give that a try! 💜
Looking for the link for ratios for glue and how you make your texture paste. Love your creations.

Here you go!
Please do 🙏😊
I shall!!!
These turned out beautiful and pleasing to my eye. If you’re interested, you should watch Lizbeth Degn. I think her collages are over the top and she shares so many tips. She’s extremely generous with her techniques. Hope you check her out! 🤩👍🏼🤗❤️
Thank you! Lizbeth participates in my Facebook group and you’re correct, she is very talented!
Leaf seems too large.
If you watch the index card videos you’ll see I used actual leaves to create the index card impressions…it may seem to big to you, but I can’t control Mother Nature😂.
