Great use and potential reuse of the last bits of paint and paper. This is a perfect example of my grandmother's favorite adage, 'waste not, want not.'
I absolutely love your ideas and your collage work, especially the 4 x 4 canvases. Just brilliant! Are you hanging them up on a wall? Are you intending to sell them?
im happy to have discovered your videos, i think if you tightened up the editing just a little bit cutting out false starts to sentences and such they would be that much greater and easier to share with others
Sometimes I brush my extra paint on a rubber stamp and it gives that nice texture impression...only con is having to clean the stamp :). I love your video
Those cardstock pieces in the beginning are gorgeous in there own right! I like the cheap Dollar Tree or Five Below “water paper” (not really great for watercolor) but wonderful as a substrate. And be still my hears at the 4x4 gallery wall! Inspires me!
Thanks so much! I will have to check out the Dollar Tree water paper--it's always fun to try something new (and when it's cheap you've got nothing to lose!)
I'll do collages on card stock. The ones I'm not really crazy about, I'll turn into about 10 tags (no ribbon) & sell for gift tags/book marks at the gallery I'm at. I usually don't charge much for them as they would otherwise go in the trash, & at least I'm recouping a little more than cost for them.
That is a great idea. I love that you have found a way to make back some of the cost of your supplies. And congrats on being in a gallery--that's huge!
Thanks so much for this video! A local art gallery does a 6x6 fund raiser and I would love to contribute (not an artist). I might actually try this technique! Thanks for the inspiration!
@@artiste335 There are all types of varnish out there but I am not an expert as honestly I rarely varnish my paintings. I have used the Sennelier spray on soft pastels or anything that is water soluble so it doesn't rub off.
I would be very interested in how you store/organize your papers to find anything... I am all over the palace and can't figure out the best way to organize all the papers!😅
To be honest I just keep my papers in a big stack--not the most organized system. I have seen some artists organize their paper by color and keep it in clear folders or bags or bins.

Sounds exactly like what my grandmother would say, and probably my mother too! I do love to use up every last piece. Thanks for watching.
Mark making turned into gorgeous useable, frame-able art 🥰🥰🥰
I hope you give it a try Cheryl! (Thanks for watching all my videos!)
I wipe excess ink or paint on paper towel then use that paper for collage. Fab texture!
That's a great idea Annie! I'll have to give it a try.
The 4x4 blocks is fantastic. Can't wait to try this.

I hope you do give it a try Roberta! (And I think you are an artist even though it's hard to describe yourself as one.)
Are you putting a sealer over them also?
Yes, I used a spray varnish on the mini canvases when I was done.
@@pamhemmerling What type of varnish do you recommend? Are there any that are not sprayed but only brushed on?
