I just purchased a 2013 4 cyl accord with 84,000 miles. Any maintenance that should be done around this mileage? Also, anything to watch out for as the vehicle ages like common problems? Looking to make this car last as long as possible.
I recommend using some valve cleaner. My go to is the Berryman branded one. I did it at 100k, and the amount of carbon being cleaned off caused the engine to initially stall getting out of the driveway. Runs much smoother now. Also, consider an A/C recharge. The fluid leaks out over the years, and the compressor needs the oil change. You might want to take a whiff of the transmission fluid, especially if it's a CVT. Aside from changing the oil (don't trust the previous owner), you should verify that's in good condition. If it has a burnt smell, replace it. Mine smelled like manure when I changed it (couldn't find anything about that when I googled, maybe I'm special) and the car put up a maintenance code for the fluid shortly after I did so. As far as I'm aware, my car is on the original transmission with no issues. YMMV, but I think the bad rap for CVTs came from early Nissan CVTs; they had terrible quality control. The maintenance minder system is entirely mileage based, so as a side note it can't track brake fluid. Obviously, if you're in a dusty environment like I am, you can also disregard the normal air filter change interval. Eyeball it. Keep it clean and change your fluids on time. This engine is actually a common swap-in for enthusiasts modding other cars. It's known for its modding potential and reliability. If you go that route, be aware that the vendors who do work with CVT-equipped Accords recommend a 250 HP limit for the CVT. That puts turbo builds out of the question if you're running the CVT like I am.
As someone mentioned about the transmission oil, for me, the maintenance minder has alerted me for this service approx. every 45K miles. I have followed that and am currently at 325K miles on my '13 Accord 2.4L with my CVT running pretty smooth still. I would also like to mention, that I just recently replaced my high pressure fuel pump and had removed the air duct like this video. I did not think about cleaning the throttle body while I had access, and my car is still running fine. So, rest assured that your car will probably be fine for a while without doing this cleaning yet. If you get some rough idles, stalling, etc., then give it a try.

@@MrRangerZr1at what oil percent / miles do you change the oil ?
Does anyone know how to clean up the throttle body on a Honda Accord hybrid 2017? There’s not even a single video out there on any hybrid Honda models.
Same process really, just watch out for the orange high voltage cables.
Nope the housing is different.
The throttle body was cleaned and reset, but the car engine was vibrating after about two days, when the transmission was at d or r, and the throttle was reset again, and after about two days, the vibration was back on again, so what is the solution?
check your motor mounts
What kind of oil did you use?
Motor oil from the dipstick
Do we need to remove the battery?
No
Where do u live? I need a service for my car from you.
Is it okay if I touch&clean the throttle body plate? Or do I have to only clean the sides?
Only if you have to very carefully
@@MrRangerZr1 I cleaned it carefully and my check engine light turned off, thr car first runned a little weird and rpm gage started going up and down but after 15 minutes of letting the car run on park, it started to run normal. now it runs perfect! Thanks for the video it helped me a lot and saved big money.
@@empusa6159 yeah it usually learns on its own but if it was really dirty it would need a scanner
@@MrRangerZr1 what scanner do you need if it doesn't learn on its own? Do I just use a code scanner?
@@dylankern9716 check the video in the description it's not a normal scanner
What about the seal, you have broken from PVC line ??
What I meant by seal is the hose "seals" it self on the metal pipe over time making it hard to remove.
@@MrRangerZr1 Boss !! can you make a video to clean the fuel system for accord 2013
@@mujahidali9818 no cleaning needed. Gasoline is already a solvent.
Knowing myself I'll end up throwing a bolt inside the throttle body. 😂
HI .Do you need to reprogram?
Depends how dirty it was but generally yes. Video in description.
Can you take off the throttle body and clean it?
Yes
I cleaned the throttle body on my 2016 Pilot and now the car dies after idling for a few minutes. Does anyone know if I need to do anything electronically after messing with it in order to get it reacclimated to the computer? I'm getting mixed messages ab of it it online...
Yes you have to reset the idle with a scantool: ruclips.net/video/d35_0-S_84g/видео.html
Does anyone know if the process is the same on a 2018? The dealership wants to charge me $280 to do this!
same process
Hi sir! What type of picking tool do you recommend? to break the seal of CV line into the intake tube? Thanks
What I meant by that was you use a picktool to carefully go around the pvc line, because the rubber and solid line gets stuck together after some time.
Links are in the description.
@@MrRangerZr1 ok got it, just the normal picking tools. Thank you
I just clean mine, but now I feel like my car is getting slower and also talking more gas then before. Please suggest me thank you!
Do the throttle body reset, video in description.
Is the person making this video a mute?
He doesn't talk
If my AC is on and the car shuts off or wants to shut off when I’m at a light, could this be the cause ??? Thanks
it can if it's extremely dirty
@@MrRangerZr1 thanks so much I’m going to clean this bad boy out tomorrow
