    Thank you! I'm new to Jaguar and this is the only video I found that showed the oil filter on top and actually taking it off, I was not familiar with the canister type I kept looking for it underneath.

    do you have to remove the entire plastic cover underneath the car to get to the oil drain bolt?? or can u just remove the front part of plastic cover,its a pain in the azz to put back on, my last oilchange the technican didn't tighten mine and it fell down while driving on the highway

    • @SidhuDIY
      @SidhuDIY  4 года назад +1

      Yes, the front part is buried under the back cover. Mechanic have a pump and they should suck out the oil under the hood from the filter area.
      This procedure is done if you don't have a pump.

    What is the stem in the oil reservoir?

    • @SidhuDIY
      @SidhuDIY  5 лет назад

      Very good question, the stem is in the middle of the oil filling cap and also used for attaching an oil extracting pump.
      This is an alternate way to change the oil without jacking up the car and removing the bottom engine cover.

    You actually do not have to take off the bottom covers for the 5.0. If you open the oil fil cap you will see a tiny metal tube on top. What you do is you get some sort of vacuum pump/extractor, I use the Mityvac 7201, and you pump out all the oil. Change the filter and done. No need to lift the car and get into a headache with the stupid plastic covers underneath the car, lol. It takes 20 minutes and it’s mess free.

    • @SidhuDIY
      @SidhuDIY  5 лет назад

      Yes, if you have the pump then you can do it that way which is very simple and easy to do.
      If you don't have the pump then you do it as I have shown in the video.
      I posted a comment before how it can be done, unfortunately, my all comments are deleted.

      My RUclips channel was hacked/hijacked last month (4/24/2019) and I just got it back today (5/5/2019). The hacker has deleted the information under the description of all my videos as well as comments and many videos.

      On these Jaguars, you have to go thru your instrument cluster and look through the settings for oil level.

    Too much faith in hydraulic floor jack. Always must use jack stands for safety.

      Yes, you always add dead jack (floor jack) and also you place the tires underneath the car.

      @@autotrimmers6353 Jaguars are expensive to maintain if you send them to the dealership. The dealership will send you coupons but sometimes the coupons are expired by the time your vehicle needs an oil change. If you can do it yourself you can save yourself a lot of money. Like the car guy Scotty Kilmer says, the newer Jaguars are not everyday cars, if you use them everyday they will not last long. If you use them as a weekend car then it will last you a long time. I only use my Jaguar on the weekends now.
      If you're interested in getting into high end vehicles I would suggest porsche, I spoke to people that own them and they say that they're very reliable. I'm planning on getting one too.

    If you pour oil 20-th viscosity, then you will shut up the engine, pour the 30-th viscosity.
