Thank you! I'm new to Jaguar and this is the only video I found that showed the oil filter on top and actually taking it off, I was not familiar with the canister type I kept looking for it underneath.

Forget taking off the plastic bottom pieces…you’ll spend forever trying to get them back on. Just get an oil pump and pump the old oil out. You’re welcome.

Good video. I’d like to know how much you need to top it up by if it uses oil over day, 5000 miles?
The screen (no dipstick) just gives you a bar level from left to right.....
What would be 50ml or 100ml?

Hi... i have my 2003 linc gator...
It has several issues, how can i get in touch with you for advices!?
Im from Tanzania, East Africa!
Thanks for asking, you always can ask questions here on RUclips videos, and many times other viewers and subscribers can help too. Thanks for watching.
do you have to remove the entire plastic cover underneath the car to get to the oil drain bolt?? or can u just remove the front part of plastic cover, its a pain in the azz to put back on, my last oilchange the technican didn't tighten mine and it fell down while driving on the highway
Yes, the front part is buried under the back cover. Mechanic have a pump and they should suck out the oil under the hood from the filter area.
This procedure is done if you don't have a pump.
Thanks for asking and thanks for watching.
@@SidhuDIY ok thanks very much.so you saying they can drain oil from top so they have to remove all plastic underneath?
@@Gerard1234 NO, I am saying that they DON'T have to remove anything because they can suck out the old oil from the top - ruclips.net/video/qQxw6D7LtwM/видео.html
you see that tubing where they plug in the hose and use a pump to extract the used oil.
The way I did a show in the video is a simple traditional way where you don't have these pump and you remove the oil from bottom pan.
I hope it makes sense, thanks for watching.

Was there any washer/gasket on the drain plug? I did my oil change and didn't see one. Want to make sure
No...drain plug that has a built in seal/washer, thanks for watching.
@@SidhuDIY appreciate the video! Really helped. Watching out for a slow leak unfortunately
I would tight it a little bit but not overtighten, try it and it might stop the slow leak.

What is the stem in the oil reservoir?
Very good question, the stem is in the middle of the oil filling cap and also used for attaching an oil extracting pump.
This is an alternate way to change the oil without jacking up the car and removing the bottom engine cover.
Hope it helps, thanks for watching.

You actually do not have to take off the bottom covers for the 5.0. If you open the oil fil cap you will see a tiny metal tube on top. What you do is you get some sort of vacuum pump/extractor, I use the Mityvac 7201, and you pump out all the oil. Change the filter and done. No need to lift the car and get into a headache with the stupid plastic covers underneath the car, lol. It takes 20 minutes and it’s mess free.
Yes, if you have the pump then you can do it that way which is very simple and easy to do.
If you don't have the pump then you do it as I have shown in the video.
I posted a comment before how it can be done, unfortunately, my all comments are deleted.

@@autotrimmers6353 ...For my year Jag (2010), I've done nothing to it other than oil changes, a battery, and wiper blades in the past two years. Brakes, disks, and tires in the near future. That would amount to around $2,500. I've had zero mechanical issues with my car. I purchased my car with 36k on the clock and now it has 48k.

Are these expensive to maintain?
@@autotrimmers6353 Jaguars are expensive to maintain if you send them to the dealership. The dealership will send you coupons but sometimes the coupons are expired by the time your vehicle needs an oil change. If you can do it yourself you can save yourself a lot of money. Like the car guy Scotty Kilmer says, the newer Jaguars are not everyday cars, if you use them everyday they will not last long. If you use them as a weekend car then it will last you a long time. I only use my Jaguar on the weekends now.
If you're interested in getting into high end vehicles I would suggest porsche, I spoke to people that own them and they say that they're very reliable. I'm planning on getting one too.
If you pour oil 20-th viscosity, then you will shut up the engine, pour the 30-th viscosity.
