By far the best video doing this jobs on volvo's! I planned this job for next year ( wich is soon by now :) and I hope the steering of my D5 will be more smooth and light, it is running a little heavy at the moment and makes the typical noise when you are not accalerating, so the pump must work harder when RPM is low. The sound is gone when driving faster, I hope this repair will work otherwise the whole steering rack may be the problem?

your vids are the very best! I'm had to replace my second pump and it will continue cause i have a leak at the rack and i guess it dry. Im prob not getting much power steering at all if any. Do you know if with a shorter belt the pump can just be bypassed altogether ( guess i would know then if i was getting any power steering at all with the leaking rack). Thanks for showing the routing of the belt.
You had to put the supply hose in the oil can, start the engine and turn the steering wheel left and right, then you would also change the oil in the steering wheel.

Thank you for this video. My new pump came without a pulley and I was stupidly flailing, frustrated and stuck trying to remove the pulley from my old pump.
What’s a good mechanic company that I can trust in the Bay Area?. I was looking for a 1a auto shop and couldn’t find one in my city. I love the way she worked in that car made me feel super comfortable letting you guys work on my car. Someone help thanks. Great video
Best thing is to just follow her instructions. I'm in Bay Area too and tried a few places but was never really satisfied; plus the very darn expensive rates (Scandia, etc.)
Hi Sue, I did exactly what you did but got nothing coming out of return hose nor did I notice level drop in reservoir hmmmm hose to pump is clear, theres some suction from the pump with hose on using my finger to test suction. What am I missing here???
Great vid but i just brought my Volvo S60 to find out why it’s stops after turning on like couple mins then goes off very sloppy like it’s the battery malfunsayciton they service called me and told me there’s no pully can those pulleys come off that easy??? And not be there??? I am signal mom thanks anyone ????
Jak nie powinno się zamontować pompę w Volvo. Idealnie pokazali jak tego nie robić. Zobaczcie nie zalali pampy olejem, nie usunęli z przewodu między pompą a zbiornikiem powietrza. Przewód między zbiornikiem a pompą idzie powyżej pompy olej zanim spłynie do pompy chwile to potrwa pompa działa bez oleju. Zanim ją uruchomili i nasmarowali olejem to ją przytarli pompa pracowała bez oleju. Porażka

Thanks for sharing this video, I don't know I have problem with s60 00 power stering pump even I fill up with oil still whining.

Oy. Use the old belt to hold the pulley. Like a strap wrench but fitting the pulley exactly. Then you have zero risk of damaging the pulley.
