- Huge news today as Lucasfilm Games have announced that the original Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 are coming back with full 64 player online support for ALL PLATFORMS in the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection! I was playing Battlefront II Classic the other day and thought it would be AWESOME if it was available on current systems. My wish is finally fulfilled once March 14th comes. I can not wait! I can see this collection outselling the Current Battlefront games.

Multiplayer is fun and all but Galactic Conquest always was my jam. In fact I was planning to replay it soon again but now I'll wait for this collection and then play everything it has to offer.
Maybe they’ll add the ability to play GC online coop? I know you could play it split screen on the OG. I doubt they will but man would it be cool.

there is remote play for the steam page which is local coop through online so you and a buddy can play but idk if they have something similar on console@@billymays5542

I know it's unlikely, but I really hope galactic conquest has online multiplayer. I remember playing it slpitscreen back in the day, and it would be great to play it with friends online.
It did say “restored online play” for all Galactic Conquest and Campaign modes so hopefully
I’ve never experienced these online until now and im so excited
I have great memories of playing them as like a 5 year old kid on the PS3 back in the day. But I also still play them online nowadays 😂 the online is still up on PC and the game costs like $2-10 on Steam depending if it's on sale or not, custom games browser is still up and it even works with mods. People still play it to this day since the game runs on anything max settings and is still a classic

For the *actual* cherry on the cake we need this Steam version to have mod support, people di incredible works over the years and people should know them as well, props for the team involved in this... *IF* all of this just works out!

@@in_faustianwinter Not actual Steam workshop, I meant be able to connect to servers that uses mods, this is a really old game, it don't need so much fancy stuff to make it work...unless they messed it up

I agree think it is a fair price and look like great ports. Sbf2 2005 is my 2nd favorite game of all time I have wanted the port forever.
That said you can get the old PC version on Steam for like $2-10 depending on if it's on sale and it still has online multiplayer with people in it, custom games browser and the native custom game browser works with mod support for online modded people playing together. But still I have wanted this port to happen for so long for newer consoles especially and some small touch ups. Will definitely buy it at least on Switch or maybe play it on Steam Deck but the old version works on Steam Deck great

I wonder if they will include the experimental "128vs128" XL mode that's on PC. Even calculators nowadays could run this game in that mode and it would be less demanding than a chrome tab, but it was a small thing only on two maps iirc Kaskykk and Hoth so I wonder if they will bother

So quick question will none of the missing maps such as tatooine dune, and naboo land and bespin cloud city (both maps) and the old version of kyshyyyk be available in battlefront 2? is split screen on xbox versions. dont know multipalyer with better resolation. bespin map for ı rembmer it was only on first battlefront with vehicles.

Same here. Paying just to get access to online servers is kinda dumb, especially since I doubt the PC version will be different in any way other than servers being available (don't count maps / heroes, since mods add those anyway).
@@Silver_Warden i mean the "extra stuff" is already free on console. Th release is basically an update/port, but i really doubt that they will actually give it for free.
Same I have it heavily modded and paid $10 bucks for it in steam. Just a quick cash grab for PC at least😂

The original BF 2 could very well be the video game I played the most of any game ever, on my main account on PS2 have over 100,000 kills. Great to see it come back with MP support this time

I love the original battle games. I could replay them endlessly. Never had online back in the day cause my parents didn't think the internet was worth it. Now I get a chance to play these games online and on the go.

I grew up on these games and I’m so excited. I never really got to play online, but I remember bringing my Xbox over to my friends house and we would do land parties with that game now all these years later and I’m married now it’ll be so fun to actually introduce my wife into these games. Can’t wait.

@@riverdaletales8457 My point is you need a computer to function in society. Everything requires a basic potato. Even if its ancient, even if its a mac, it will play this game. Xbox/pc players have always had this game since it launched. 🤷 When I say a potato can play it, my mom's old compaq presario from 2001 can play it. The only good thing about this is people whove never seen og battlefront seeing what hot garbage the ea remakes are by comparison.

This is amazing I have been wanting this to happen since the end of PS3 era and especially since the Switch launched!! I am so happy. My second favorite game of all time off of nostalgia alone.
That said online is still up on the old version on PC funnily enough with custom games browsers still working

I have been wanting this port forever thinking about it often I am so happy even though the PC version is still up with online multiplayer for like $2-10 on Steam just think it should be on new consoles/steam deck/switch too
