@@GalacticAvenger1 it's really all up in the air anymore, I'm for sure just happy to get to play the original battlefronts again cause they are just games you can sink time into and I'll love playing them with my kid, but outlaws I hope is good but I think it'll flop I don't think it will have replayability and really idk if we will ever get good star wars games again
I think one of the big changes in gaming is that the youth of today find 1 or 2 live service games they like (Roblox, Fortnite, Clash of Clans...) and spend money in those. It's only the above 25 year old demographic that spends money on different games. And the big companies have the numbers to prove it. It's strange, but our love of different and varying games is not being shared by the next generation, and so the money is pooling in different places and can't support making all of these blockbuster games.
Star Wars 1313 was cancelled because LucasArts was shutdown by disney imperial commando was cancelled because different leadership from LucasArts Jim ward for example force unleashed 3 was cancelled by disney free radical battlefront 3 was cancelled between LucasArts or free radical because development hell
Yeah it was COMPLETELY STUPID for EA to cancel The Mandalorian FPS Shooter game. It was like EA telling DICE to cancel support for Star Wars Battlefront II (2017) all over again.
Star Wars has the most potential cap of game population if any can make a open world Star Wars game were you can be a bounty hunter Jedi sith or clone trooper storm trooper and more would be fun
On top of your initial point with picking up a great game like Helldivers or Palworld for $40, companies are moving away from expensive IP. Look at Disney charging about the same cost of the development of the game just to use their license. When compared to Helldivers and Palworld, which didn't require a license but just a good concept and decent base game, and clearly outperformed a lot of those IPs. Why would you invest in that? The risk doesn't make sense, and in the case of Disney and the MCU, the marvel movies have seen better days (I haven't been keeping up with the Star Wars movies, so I don't know how good or bad they are), but yeah, there's a huge shift coming.
After what EA did to SW Battlefront 2 (microtransaction and communication with fans) I promised myself, that I'm not going to buy any EA game for a long time, and I know, I'm going to stick to the promise for a while after hearing those horrifying news.
A game like that bounty hunter game would need the nemesis system to work well or even right and i bet it got canned cause they couldnt get it or do anything similar. Just my opinion
@@leorojas6390 I really think anything but kotor finally on PlayStation or new is a waste like the old games were good but build in them stop just reselling on our nostalgia I know kotor is straight nostalgia but we just have yet to get a PlayStation version
Palworld and Helldivers have nothing to do with the "Changing Industry" they maybe symptoms of it, but publishers didn't look at them and start making new decisions. The AAA model has become unsustainable, it has nothing to do with the quality of games and everything to do with the fact that these AAA games have to sell an outrageous number of copies just to break even, let alone make a profit. Even with licensed games, which studios inherently have to sell more of to make the same money, despite that, license holder are often dealing in copies sold and not revenue made.
Has there been any news on star wars hunters? That battle arena game for the switch. Did it get cancelled, released and i missed it, or delayed for another year? I was kinda excited for a new star wars game but its been so long since ive heard anything.
These megacorps fail to realize.....we would gladly spend 60-70 dollars on a game.....you just have to make it GOOD AND FUNCTIONAL. not full of totally imbalanced mechanics to try and push microtransactions, not broken and totally un-optimized, not 1/10th of a game youll sell us the rest of later PAST the 60/70 dollar price tag, no battle pass bullshit, no FOMO, etc. Helldivers 2 could be 70 dollars and itd still have the same playerbase. Make a good game first, ask for our money second. Thats the transaction. Do that, and youll be rich. Games dont need this crazy over the top graphic style either. I dont need to see the pores on a characters face. I dont need real physics mechanics on ever bland NPC walking in town. I dont need these lighting methods that add little visually but hog up resources. People appreciate art style over realism every time. Every time.
I want if EA not make Battlefront 3, would better if Epic Games make Battlefront 3 or other Reboot of Battlefront or a Battlefront was not Called Battlefront or something Like that.
@@james_8583Ubisoft, epic games, activision, and ea should not make a battlefront game. A new battlefront game won’t be made, I just don’t see who would make it
they dont realize that if they just make a good game or stick with an idea for longer than a FUCKING WEEK they could make so much fucking money but nooo they buy the rights to starwars just to fucking boast about it ig. they literally made like 3 shitty games and thats it.
EA is trash. They show by their actions that theyre only in it for the money. They dont want to be responsible for such a good game like BF2 and decide to completely forget about it. What a way to care for your customers and fans
Independent is a other word for freedom from the assholes out there that think they know when they don't 😮 just like when we vote for a new president 😂😆😂😆
Are you Really defending a $30 price tag for GOD DAMN 20-30+ YEAR OLD GAMES? (I dont care if it is Star Wars or not) $30+ dollars for the tiniest graphical changes and and updated controls for modern consoles is the dumbest thing in the world, literally could get those by downloading a mod for free which is what Aspyr probably does (takes $5-$10 20+ yr old games, either change/modify the game themselves or download the game with the mods, put their name on it and make it available for consoles then sell it overpriced.) And dont compare $30 from an Indie game - Palworld to a rip-off 30+ old licensed game. Palworld is being nice with the price and honestly couldve asked for WAY MORE. Its way bigger, more you can do in the game, and has free updates coming to make it even more bigger and better. Hell Divers 2 on the other hand is priced right, if it was a bit cheaper it be nice but game is fun with lot more fun gameplay loops, way better graphics and free updates to make it bigger and better. Dark Forces- not worth $30 for barely ant change just controls, tiny gameplay graphic changes and cutscene graphic changes which are good but not even $20 worth. Battlefront collection - isnt worth $30 either, barely any graphic changes too and combined pc and console versions for 2, $20 max.
I can all but guarantee you can add 'Eclipse' to the list of cancelled Star Wars games.
I agree it's dead in the water
Forgot abt that game tbh
Honestly that kinda upsets me because I feel like it could have been the next game as good as kotor.

What the CEO was saying is EA doesn't want to pay licensing fees. This is just another way to cut costs.
1:49 SW 1313: Am I a joke to you? BF 3, Imperial Commando, and The Force Unleashed 3: Join the club.

because EA is worst company in America twice
For the classic Battlefront games they need to have private and public servers or it will fade fast.
Mm is probably better. I’ve had too many bad experiences when servers are allowed
mod support this collection need that on pc

Same with Battlefront 2, 2015 had some incredible looking games
disagree battlefront 2015 is trash
