We are taking alcohol and water together as a whole Type 1 and Type 2 liquid. However, while taking weight ratio, we are considering them as seperate entities. How can this be correct?
We are taking water conc from type 1 and type 2 to calculate weight ratio of type 1 and type 2. In type 1 water conc is 3/3+5= 3/8. In type 2 water conc is 7/7+3= 7/10 In type 3, that is resultant mix we have water conc as 11/11+9 = 11/20. sir can you please solve this question by distance method? A farmer sells one type of rice at Rs 40 per kg and loses 20% and other type of rice at Rs 50 per kg and gains 25%. If he mixes the two types in equal proportions and sells the mixture at Rs 55 per kg, then the profit percentage is?
You can use any one method . Its just that you can go with the method which you find more comfortable or easy . Ravi sir has explained some situations at 16:00 about where to apply which method. All the best.
@@siddhantdhyani4541 What he meant was we just make the denominator of the fractions equal by taking their LCM (8,10,20) i.e 40 thus the fraction becomes 15/40, 28/40 and 22/40 and solve accordingly. The result would be easiness in calculating ratio (22/40-15/40) : ( 28/40-22/40), i.e., 7:6. It's as simple as that. There's nothing new about it. I bet everyone would have done this at some point while doing maths.
For the last question, the answer is coming as 7 : 6 when taking alcohol ratio and working with that instead of water. How can answer be different? Is this method wrong?
Good morning sir Sir I don't get how can we take 1 unit = 20 ml , we took the ratio of percentages of alcohol( 30% and 0 percent) and at 0 percent side, the ratio of alcohol's quantity is 1 (4:1) so how did we equate alcohol's quantity to 20 ml( that is of water ) Second case - does that mean at 0 percent alcohol concentration only 20 ml water is present?? Shouldn't be water equal to total quantity of liquid like 100 ml( if we see from the answer) as no alcohol is present If anyone knows pls explain
Bro we got ratio 4:1 that means if u mix by taking 1 ml of quantity from type 2 u need take 4 ml from type 1 And as u know we have 20 ml of water thats means if u have taken 20 ( 1*20) u need to mutliply 4 by 20= 80
A mixture of 160 gallons of wine and water contains 25% water. How much water must be added to the mixture in order to increase the percentage of water to 40% of the new mixture? how to solve this question by your method sir ?????
We took liquid 2 as one part so that in 4:1 , 1 part is liquid 2 which is 20 ml so it's 4×20:20 i e 80 ml of liquid one then using percentage ratio 30% of alcohol is 24 ml and remaining is water 76 ml...
May be initially it looks easy to you becuase we are habitual of solving sums conventionally but its actually lengthy. Get your hands dirty with percentage fraction and then realise the power of %ages
Sir made bases(denominator ) same so that he can just take ratio by numerators only.. i.e 7/40 = 3/20 so for easy calculation just make denominator same , after multiplying by 2, 3/20 becomes 6/40 so ratio becomes 7/40 : 6/40 i.e 7:6 Hope you'll get it😊
For the first question Last mein to find the intial quantity of each of the liquid you took alcohol 30% but in the question it said after adding 20ml water alcohol concentration was 24% so why did you take 30% alchohol?? Did not understand😢
Since the middle position is the average price of given two prices (Assuming price is given in the question). So it would always lie between the two prices and it would be greater than the smaller price and smaller than the greater price. Or, Simply arrange the two prices and the average price in ascending order.
In the last question of the video the question asked for the ratio in which a solution of 3:5 and 7:3 of water and alcohol should be mixed to get a solution of 11:9 ratio of water and alcohol. So why are we only calculating between 3:5 and 7:3 as the answer is a ratio which is between 3:5 and 7:3 without even considering the values of 11:9. Can someone please clear this doubt ?
In the mixture, we take the concentration volume of only one of the liquids. Sir had taken water but you can take alcohol also. In the alcohol concentration case, Type 1 would have 5/8 or 62.5% alcohol mixed with Type 2's 3/10 or 30% alcohol which results in the mixture containing 9/20 or 45% alcohol. The distance ratio would be 17.5(62.5-45):15(45-30) which would be simplified to 7:6. This 7:6 ratio is the ratio of distance. Its inverse is 6:7 which is the ratio of the weights. (Here, weights mean the respective volumes of both the mixtures and distance refers to the difference between the %age of the concentration of any one solution(water or alcohol) in Type 1 and Type 2 with the %age of the same solution in the resultant mixture).
