    In the station and fare example, we can save time by going with the option. We can see the ratio of the total amount collected between the first class and the second class is 4:40 I.e 1:10. When we go by the option, we are looking for a number when it is added to 10 times itself will give 1100. Clearly, 100 is the only number to fit in that ratio. Hence we get our answer.

    @laliga3045 Год назад +29

    The rupee question you can just write no of 50p coins as 220-4x.
    Then equate their prices , x/4 + (220-4x)/2 + 3x = 160.
    No need for 2 variables.

    • @KlutchyRex
      @KlutchyRex 2 месяца назад +1

      why 4x ?

    • @laliga3045
      @laliga3045 2 месяца назад +2

      @@KlutchyRex one 25p coins = x, therefore one 1 Rs coin = 3x, so in total these are 4x coins.
      Therefore the total no of 50p coins = 220 - 4x

      After adding A's 10 l the ratio of M:W in vessel becomes 19:11. Now 19+11 units = 10 l , 30 units = 10l , 1 unit = 1/3 , therefore now M= 19 = 19*1/3 = 19/3 same for W.

      You can do that as well. Just take the lcm as 4 then equation will look like: (13x+2y)/4=160... Substitute further till y= (640-13x)/2. Now put the value of this y to equation 1. i.e. 4x+y=220. Solve further to get your answer as x = 40. Now back to your question. Sir is not doing this because its time comsuming. CAT is all about speed + smartness.

    • @anshulbisht85
      @anshulbisht85 Год назад +6

      percentage is change in values divided by initial value. For Jai it changed from 4 to 5; change is 5-4=1 so 1 divided by initial value that is 4; 1/4*100=25%

    At 27:00 The New quantity of Milk & water in vessel A (after removing 10 l) = M:W = 16 : 4 => 4:1(divided by 4). Atlast instead of adding 19/3 to 16l.I think it should be milk = 4+19/3 water = 1+11/3.
    Please correct me some one if I am wrong.

    • @Anonymous-m-a-n
      @Anonymous-m-a-n Год назад +1

      earlier vessel A had 30L of mixture in 4 : 1, after removing 10L ( 2L water + 8L milk ) , quantity left is 16L of milk & 4L of water. you should add 19/3L of milk to remaining quantity of milk i.e. 16L, same case is with water.
      what you got wrong is - you simplified the quantity 16L & 4L to ratio 4:1, which is wrong as it's the ratio not the quantity left.

      When you add 10 L from A to B, in B ratio of milk and water changes from 3:2 to 19 : 11. Now you add water from B (having new ratio 19 : 11) to A, that would give you new ratio of 67:23 for A.

    Sir I have a question
    In fare and passenger question
    Like you told fare is 4rs and 1rs in ratios respectively for first class and second class
    And similarly passenger ratio is 1p and 40 p for first class and second class after solving we 25 times of ratio as actual amount collected
    Now the amount collected from first class passenger is 4rs*25 =100
    Here I have a doubt that you multiplied 25 to fare price of first class but there could be a case where the price is same 4rs and 1 RS but the passengers are 1*25=25 for first class and 40*25=1000 for second class then also we will get 1100 as per options the way it correct but out of curiosity I want to ask
    Plzz explain?

      there was no need of percentage method. just take the ratios like 5k/x = 4/5 calculate x this will be jai 2017 salary, similarly 6k/x= 3/4 calculate x this will be govind 2017 salary. Add both values of x equate to 57,00,000. You will get the value of k. Put it in the 2016 ratios taken in the form 5k:6k
