I grew up with the Atari 1200. Back in those days board games and card games was all there was. My favs were Monopoly, Risk, Life, Battleship and Sorry as well as a german board game called Mensch Argere Dich Nicht. Card games were Juno and Canasta. I too was frightened of roller coasters as a kid and I eventually came to enjoy them. My favorite ride BTW is Shake Rattle and Roll. That ride is a blast.

Here I was this young American boy amungst all of these older German ladies playing Canasta and I won..

So after a few tries (and also doing things like the online Jackbox games) we just set up Zoom chats rather than Zoom gaming times.
my god I love almost all of those games it's been so long since I played Bang! I'd recommend that you play battlestar galactica if you haven't yet, that's kind of like a longer advanced version of bang (needs 5 players, but is just so great). The show that it's from is also very good, for about 3 seasons (the fourth is very meh), and has a decent ending. Also, if you've never played gloomhaven there's a very good reason that game is top rated on Board Game Geek. Questions 1) Have you ever tried roleplaying (like D&D). (I loved "Love, Victor" (Hulu) a sequel to "Love, Simon". 1 gay Houston dancer training in Germany now recently posted a video listing his favorites gay movies...boy it sparked a ton of guys commenting & sharing this movie & that movie. Everyone commented on their favorites & brought to light ones other guys hadn't seen. Had a GREAT following & helped a lot of guys want to catch up on gay-themed movies they hadn't heard of. Plus I have a ton of good movies on the shelf & discovered more on the Peacock & Hulu channels lately. That's my vote for a video!!

It's always really exciting to relate with others who are a board game nerd. I live for all tabletop games and have so much fun playing them. With that, one must always pass the Monopoly, Uno, Game of Life etc. test in this regard to prove their worth. That is, the worst possible thing you can say to someone like me is along the lines of: "oh, my family is really into board games as well; I love *insert the most generic board game title ever*, it is the best".
It’s just reinforces how old I am now that I have always loved board games, and I’ve never heard of any of the board games you mentioned. Granted, the ones I tend to like best are ones that involve words or trivia, like Scrabble or Trivial Pursuit (I told you I was old!). So here’s a question for your Q&A: now that you’ve moved to Austin, do you tend to prefer weather that is hot and humid, or weather that is cool and dry? Or do you prefer some other combination, like hot and dry or cold and humid?
If you haven't been to schitterbahn yet, it should def go on your texas must do list. I come from a card game/boardgame family and my partner just doesn't do games. Which is fine, but it has been 7 years and I still have no idea why. Also was terrified of rollercoasters and ferris wheels. Then loved them. Then had a growth spurt in high school and now I can't ride one without feeling like I'm going to be decapitated.

They’re wireless, easiest to use and the receiver plugs right into your camera’s mic jack (A7 I’m assuming?) There are a bunch of other options but they can be really complex. I also like the Rode “shotgun” mics that clip onto the camera and plug into the same mic jack like the VideoMic, VideoMic Pro or VideoMicro. These get power from your camera’s mic jack and output a loud enough signal that you can turn down the noisy preamps in the A7 to one notch above zero for the least noise. I can sell you a VideoMic Go if you want but there are options literally all over the internet so you can find what works best for you. Pass any questions my way, more than happy to help!
