This really blows as someone living in a delta hub city. I felt like delta had the worst miles redemption and now this just adds onto that. Good job delta!
This was really a slap in the face. I understand limiting the sky club but 6-10 is disrespectful when you're paying 500+ for a card. At least give them 20. I have a Delta plat card so I wasn't paying 50 dollars to get in anyways but they could have at least put a limit on that too. 10 visit for 50 dollars a visit. Still not worth it but less disrespectful. I was aiming for the status boost for 2024 but I was hesitant and I'm happy I was. Was thinking about upgrading my Europe flight to D1 just for MQDs & MQMs. Happy I didn't
Couldn’t agree more. The labyrinth one has to navigate just to figure out how bad we’re getting screwed is astonishing. I feel like I need to call my attorney to figure all the stipulations and conditions to get a decent return on our investment, I.e., the cost of the credit card! Jeeeezus!
This is the exact mistake GE made. GE started to believe it was a financial institution instead of the manufacturing powerhouse it was. Result? GE stock collapsed to $6 a share. In some respects, Delta's mistake is bigger, though. The only reason anyone uses a Delta branded AMEX card is for travel on Delta. What good is the card if Delta makes it harder and harder for anyone with a Delta branded AMEX to get any Delta travel benefits from the card? I see a death spiral for Delta earning fees from AMEX as the AMEX Delta products begin to shrink dramatically.
Oh damn, I believe they will be making an update this week or next about possible changes to SkyMiles due to massive backlash. lets hope its good news.
So basically I am going to look for a nice flight to Jamaica only on Delta miles to drain my account because it's useless otherwise. Oh and I am dumping this stock because this company is probably going South.
I have been a loyal Delta flyer for over 20 years and we get this treatment now. I will be cancelling my Delta Amex Reserve card. These changes have made it seriously overpriced. 10 total lounge visits for that annual fee???? I’m looking at switching to Alaska and using AA and BA for my international travel now. Alaska will match your Delta status for a year, as will Jet Blue.
with the new changes and my spend habit it will be difficult to get silver medallion .. used to spend 30k and take a few flights for 25k mqm. Seriously thinking of switching to united or american airlines
After all these years of being loyal to this airline, I just feel upset and betrayed. Even if I had the perk of using the lounge, I usually don’t. It’s time to look into other LOYALTY programs that look after their LOYAL patrons through thick or thin.
Im not 100% sure, I read that the Reserve card will still get 2 guest passes each year and then the ability to pay $50 to bring in additional guests. I guess we will find out soon enough!
Works for me. Sometimes it's so crowded on the sky deck there are no seats available. I've been a free agent ever since AA gutted its program years ago and now just buy F or redeem for J or F when traveling internationally. It's been very liberating but I'm fortunate as a business owner I have the ability to do that. I did figure out on one trip where there was a huge line at the Skyclub that a F BP will get you to the front of the line even on domestic flights. Being based at LAX only choice is Delta as the centurion lounge is in TBIT and not very convenient. All other lounges belong to their respective airlines.
Does anyone remember all of those "thanks for sticking with us" msgs during the pandemic? Feels like they're burning the very customers who stayed loyal to their brand during their challenging time. Sorry, but this just feels extremely greedy, Delta!
So, for Platinum Medallion status, during the period it's 6,000...couldn't you easily accomplish that by simply booking your vacation through Delta Vacations? In short, if I flew my family to Hawaii and booked the flight, hotel and car....let's say it totals $7500. Am I instantly back at Platinum Medallion status since I'd meet the $6000 requirement?
Hmm, its not that easy.. you will need to spend much much more $. Platinum in 2025 is 18,000 MQDS. If you carry the Reserve card, you get 1 MQD for every $10 you spend and lower cards earn 1 MQD for every $20 spent on the card. Do the math…
“With a platinum card, you need to spend $4,000 on Delta flights and $40,000 on the card just to get Silver Status. With the purple reserve card, you need to spend $4,000 on Delta flights and $20,000 on the card just to get Silver status”
Its a little confusing but I believe the business version will still allow two one-time guest passes per year. What about employee cards? Do they have Sky Club access?

Agreed, not a very good move in my opinion.

Yeah it's not a good move by Delta in my opinion. Will be interesting to see how things go from here.
Loyalty is so not worth it anymore with any airline/hotel IMO. Thanks for the info + video!
Agreed! thanks for watching the video!

I guess it depends how it affects Delta ridership. If they start losing customers, I’d expect them to roll back some of the new changes.
I’d like to think so as well, but I ain’t holding my breath!
That, or if their revenue from the Delta Amex cards drops.
Very happy 🎊, finally some space to breath, less rude and classless people to deal with
Thank you for this update. I am already pissed at Delta. I am a million miler but I am Silver Medallion now. Ugh.
Oh damn, I believe they will be making an update this week or next about possible changes to SkyMiles due to massive backlash.
lets hope its good news.

Yeah, it's annoying what they have done, not happy to be honest.

Yes I believe a lot of people will cancel there Delta Amex card.

Yes, you may well find more value with one of the other cards
After all these years of being loyal to this airline, I just feel upset and betrayed. Even if I had the perk of using the lounge, I usually don’t. It’s time to look into other LOYALTY programs that look after their LOYAL patrons through thick or thin.
Agreed!
I heard they removed the annual guests passes but allows a guest for $50 fee for the Delta Reserve
Im not 100% sure, I read that the Reserve card will still get 2 guest passes each year and then the ability to pay $50 to bring in additional guests.

Thanks for breaking this down!
Anytime! thank you for watching the video!

Delta being greedy...yet again. Luckily I don't usually fly Delta. Alaska or Southwest does enough for me. Thanks for the video!
Agreed! thank you for watching the video!
I will be canceling my Reserve and Delta platinum cards when the anniversary comes around.
Thats fair enough!
Does anyone remember all of those "thanks for sticking with us" msgs during the pandemic? Feels like they're burning the very customers who stayed loyal to their brand during their challenging time. Sorry, but this just feels extremely greedy, Delta!
Agreed!
Yeah, i hate that Amex platinum holders didn’t get 1 extra free guess for skyclub for free. No this?!. I am canceling the card.

Delta is now a credit card company which happens to have airplanes.
Sounds about right lol
Visits to a Delta lounge better come with a happy ending from now on.
lol

Im not sure about about employee cards to be honest.
There are far better benefit programs via Credit Cards then Delta especially since the current lounges lack adequate occupancy
Agreed
I’m Platinum medallion and just switched 3 weeks ago to the reserve because of the promise of bigger boost, now it’s gone. Definitely feel lied to.
That's not good.
What new with delta gold
I'll have to make a video on Delta Card again soon
💳👍
Lucky my son is in the military so I get a free platinum amex. But I will cancel reserve. Forget my loyalty to Delta. It's over.
