Thank you! I would just recommend downloading your own in flight entertainment on your personal device beforehand, and have a charger handy. It wasn’t working on my return flight either, but they tried their best and offered me an iPad…I just preferred to use my own. Safe travels!

Glad to see that you enjoyed business class on PAL. From what i watched on YT PAL business can be hit or miss. The wife and I are heading to Bangkok early next year, I’m going to try out business class on Asiana.

Sounds good! I've heard good things about the Korean carriers--some of my family would rather layover in Korea than fly PAL! Since I lose time flying over the Pacific, the direct flight with PAL makes the difference for me...

Great trip report! FYI, the Star Alliance lounge at LAX is managed by Air New Zealand (my favourite airline). It's a shame you didn't fly on PAL's A330 as they have the newer business class configuration, lie flat beds and 1-2-1 seating. My husband is a Filipino and we've flown PAL twice (in business) from Sydney to Manila on their A330's and they use the Ai New Zealand lounge in Sydney. I love Manila (apart from the traffic🤣). You should continue your trip reports, they appear so friendly and you're at ease with your audience, it seems like you're talking directly to me! Well done and congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Enjoy every minute of your special day, trust me, it will go so quickly!

Thank you so much!!! Was thinking of trying Air New Zealand last year when Paula was in Australia (trip reports coming!) but flew Qantas for the direct flight. I think PAL has the A330 on the MNL-HNL or MNL-JFK routes…hopefully one day!

I just checked the price for business class for round trip flight only for Phllipines in October 2024 is $4,800. Is that about right ? Also as business class client do you get your own entrance to board & do you get faster processing through US Customs when you come back to the states? Thanks for sharing =)

    • @NolanandPaula
      @NolanandPaula  Месяц назад +1

That’s the lowest I’ve seen, but I do tend to travel at peak periods, so I can’t really say. I’ve always seen their prices increase as you get closer to travel date. There is no dedicated entrance from the terminal (queue at same gate), but you do have your own jetway to business class (board to the left instead of the right)! When returning, business class is the first off the plane, so you’ll process before others, but it depends on how busy LAX is at that time of day (other planes need to process). I arrived at a busy time, but since I have Global Entry (excellent timesaver, business or economy), I was the first one on my flight at baggage claim, and probably waited about 30 min before I saw someone else coming to claim baggage. Hope this helps! Thank you for watching!

@@NolanandPaula I saw the price on Expedia ! But also need to factor hotel cost which isn't included in that $4,800. From the clip you showed us the leg space look very spacious. If you're in business class and get window seat is there enough space to get up without bothering anyone ?

Thank you for watching! It’s after security, in the plaza before the gates. Look for the food court / PF Chang’s on the second floor-there are escalators / elevators leading up to it. I took the escalators up, and another escalator up to the lounge above. Hope this helps!

Agree, the 2-3-2 layout is a bit outdated based on the other business classes you see on YT, but I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to move around, especially compared to traveling solo in a window seat with a 3-4-3 configuration.

That is very typical for PAL for most of thier “equipment” inside the plane - from their seat, table, audio, or a combination. Their PM maintenance is poor. Their customer service is the worst. At least you have tried them. Better try ANA, JAL, EVA, Korean Air, Asiana, Singapore, and soon United Airlines.

To be fair, PAL FA’s…try (by keeping my drink full) but I’m definitely ready to try different airlines. Although I’ve had bad experiences on United, SFO to MNL is definitely on my list!

Attention PAL - What's up with your entertainment system! This is NOT an isolated case there are several videos of PAL business class on YT which the entertainment systems on different seats and different flights are NOT WORKING!

Is it just me noticing every time they would announce first class/military personnel/parents with small children/business class...etc., why do people bum rush to the gate when their section is 3-7?
It's embarrassing to see people get turned away esp.; when they're kapwa pinoy as if they didn't understand the instructions.

@@NolanandPaula yeah I was shocked, to see and hear that. My wife is in cebu, and know about how strict it was. And also how long Philippines held on to the mask mandates. Glad you had an enjoyable trip. I avoid Philippine airlines most of the time now, since there's no need to land in Manila. Except I did fly with them I'm March of 2020. In fear of getting stuck and quarantined in another country. Philippines locked down a week after I landed.

That's being true Pinoy ok just being relevant to our roots..appreciate it more because think about BecomingFilipino and Bisayang Hilaw they are Canadian and AMerican and can speak and understand Visayan and little Tagalog & other dialects in the Philippines

Thank you for watching! My parents are both from Cebu, so I grew up around Bisaya, but I was born in US and English was the priority.
I understand a little, but Paula spent most of her life in Metro Manila, so we constantly have to explain our Bisaya / Tagalog terms to one another (ex. hubog / lasing, utan / gulay, bolingon / damit, pan / tinapay). It’s just easier to communicate in English, unless someone is making tampo 😅
I’m working on learning more, so look out for it in our other videos! Ingat!
