Cannot believe I just sat still for over an hour and attempted to take all that in 🧐 excellent tutorial will no doubt will have to re-visit when attempting it. Thank you I will get you a coffee, I need one now 😂 ..... done
Wow, that donation is so generous of you and I appreciate it so much 🙂 I really enjoyed creating this course and I'm glad that you found it helpful. I appreciate you sitting down and watching it all at once as I know it's a very long video, and there is definitely a lot to take in. Thanks again for buying me a coffee, it's really made my day 🙂
Thank you 🙂 I'll come up with a few ideas and create some new videos in Apple Motion. If there is anything you specifically want to learn, then please let me know.
@@MJWMediaStudios Maybe you could make a tutorial on: how to make backgrounds, or slide in text with and without background or slide in images.... thanks in advance!
Thank you so much for the super thanks, it's really appreciated 🙂 I'm really glad you enjoyed the video and I was able to help you get started. Comments like this are the reason I enjoy making content, so thank you for the great feedback.
This is the kind of tutorial we need. Familiarise the interface first and understand what is what. not other tutorial video that goes straight to tutorial. Like how I will be able to understand what and where is what if I don't even know the interface. this is a good example of tutorial. like you're giving us a tour before we start working in the place. thank you so much.
I'm so glad that you found value in this video. Thank you so much for the very generous super thanks donation, it's really appreciated. Receiving great feedback, and especially a super thanks makes such a big difference to us small content creators 🙂
Excellent content. Been looking for something this straight to the point and useful for getting up and running for a while. At the point where I'm at in Motion right now (starting out, want to get up and running quick without hours and hours of tedious course material), this is the best one I found so far. Thanks for posting it.
Thank you for the great feedback. I try to ensure that my tutorials are straight to the point and cut out any unnecessary information that may not be relevant to a beginner. Once you learn all the basics then everything else will just come with time and creating more projects. Thanks again for taking the time to comment 🙂
I do plan on creating some more apple motion tutorials in the future, I'm just a little short of time at the moment to create anything new. Thank you for subscribing 🙂
Thank you 🙂 I appreciate you taking the time to watch the video as it's pretty long. However, I wanted to make sure that I covered all of the features I felt people would want to learn the most. Thank you for subscribing. Orlando, Florida is one of my must visit places one day.
Wow!! Thank you so so so much!! This was a GREAT course! Took 5 pages of notes to make it easier for me while editing lol. I appreciate your time and dedication! Great explanations, very clear and precise! Can't thank you enough!
Hey my guy, Thank you for this I've always used FCPX, but started up my travel channel, I've had to get into motion and stuff. Not sure what other functions you said you left out, but all of this was enough for me to start getting things going and done. Cheers ^
Hi. This is one of the sites I use icon-icons.com if you're referring to the social media icons with the colour gradients, I created them myself by downloading the SVG version and adding a gradient in Affinity Designer and saving as a PNG file. If you search Google for social media icons PNG or SVG you will find plenty of free icons to use 🙂
Thank you. I use this site for most of the icons I use - www.iconfinder.com - You can also find 100s of different designed social media icons just by searching Google for Facebook PNG / twitter PNG etc. That will give you the graphic without a background. Just download them to your computer and import into motion
Great tutorial. Importing images into motion is not working anymore for me, Images are showing as white canvas! Any idea how to solve this issue? Tried too many formats like JPG, TIFF, PSD... same problem, white canvas is all I get while thumbnails show actual image perfectly well inside motion.
Hi. Have you updated motion to the latest version as I think there was a new update available last week. This may fix your issue. I haven't come across that issue myself, so the only other thing I can suggest is to uninstall and reinstall motion if the update doesn't fix it and see if that works. Sorry I can't be more helpful
I discovered Motion only today. Can I use whatever I create in Motion in any other Video Editor, or only with Final Cut Pro? I use Movavi Video Editor. Thanks!
You can use it with any other video editor as long as you export your creations as a video file and import them into other video editors. However, if you want to keep the editing features - like changing the text and font etc in your titles once you import them, you'll have to use them with final cut pro.
Is there not a way to go fullscreen like FCP A/V output and keep the canvas working area visible at the same time? I often do this in After Effects as a way to preview my work. Maybe I am missing something?
Not that I'm aware off. I think it maybe possible if you use a second monitor and have the timing pane on one screen and the canvas on the second screen.
For a visual program it’s really not designed in a very visually pleasing or easy way. All the different blue lines in the timeline are confusing to look at; I wish they could be differentiated or separated differently to make it easier to know what is what. And all of the effects should not be just names in a drop-down menu, they should be more like final cut; icons that show what they do when you hover your mouse over them.
I completely agree. The entire UI layout could be designed better. Apple are known for their simplicity, but haven't done to well with the structure or visuals with motion 5. Hopefully future updates may bring a better user experience.
Unfortunately it's designed to be used alongside final cut pro. You can export your project as video files and import them into Adobe premier, however you won't be able to edit the text or contents in premier. If you want the same kind of integration with Adobe premier, then you need to use Adobe After Effects to create the same kind of editable content that can be used inside of Premier.

Wow, this video was fantastic. Thank you for posting. Also, make these videos as long as you want, we can always pause and take a break. super cool.

Could you please make more videos on AppleMotion? The way you explain, is the best so far. Thanks in advance

Creating intro and end screens for youtube videos will cover all of those subjects, so I could make a tutorial based on that 🙂

Now this is how you make a tutorial! A step by step guide starting from the interface. can you make a tutorial about camera 3d etc
Thank you. I've been a little short on time recently, but I'll hopefully be able to create some new content soon.

This function was removed in June 2011 with the release of Motion 5 sadly.
