I checked for this video every day before buying a Lift a couple weeks ago. I really enjoy your reviews. Your massive bow shootout is still one of my favorite series. I went from a VXR to the Lift because it seemed like Mathews really outdid themselves on this one.
Appreciate you watching for this long! That series taught me a whole lot. Made It easier to understand what I really want in a bow. Lift is a good move up.
I have the 29.5. One thing that you forgot to mention is that you can change the poundage on the bow without changing the limbs. You can use 60, 70, or 80 pound mods on the exact same limbs.
I have the same issue with being in between draw lengths I began getting the shorter draw length mod and putting twists in my cables to get me an extra 1/4”. It bumps my poundage up a few pounds as well.
Totally agree on the stabilisation nice to the point vid. Have you tried going down half a inch in draw length and shooting side plates for your draw length I had the same issue I’m right in between mods it felt I played with grips to get it right
How do I know for sure if my diamond Edge sb1 has a warped riser! My arrow rest is all the way to the left my sides are all the way to the right and my arrows are still hittin 4 inches to the right at 10 yards!
Hoyt feels easier but it has a bit more of a rolling high point feel about half way through. Either one though doesn’t have the thing I hate which is the really bad dump into the back wall. Both good drawing bows
It's odd that bridglock stuff is more expensive when the the mount requires less aluminum and a much simpler cast. It's just a rectangle with some diagonal edges.

There's no universe where Tim produces a better video than brandon. I've been a subscriber since his video on the traverse which at the time was the best mathews ever produced. Build it and they will come brandon
I stopped believing the "hype" when guys would say how the VXR,V3X, Phase 4 were better than the Traverse because to me that was the best Mathews. That said, this Lift 33 Is a special bow and I'm amazed how much I'm liking it so far.
Since you are racing against tim you could make small digs at him like naming this "why the lift is better than the bowtech core ss" lol. Gotta poke the bear when you can 😂
Do you feel like the bow wants to jump out of your hand a bit after the shot? I feel it a bit on my Lift 29.5. I love it outside of that, but it feels like it wants to jump a wee bit.
I think that’s a good observation. I do notice that a bit more on this bow. It’s kind of like “hand shock” on modern bows. It’s not a thing like it was 15 years ago.
Once Mathews figures out a movable cam system like bowtech they will have possibility the best bow ever made. The top hats drive me nuts. And the mods they really should give the original buyer a code to get 2 mods with purchase.
Good stuff. If you’re in a race to 50k we can assume you’ll be posting more again. That’s a good thing. I’ve got a custom color 33 on order, probably show up just in time for the 2025 season. Everything I hear about the draw seems like it’s going to draw like a Halon 32-7 @75%. Not bad but the Traverse was a little better. If the Lift falls in between those I’ll be happy. Viper archery makes a “bridgelock” stabilizer with a built in dampener and standard weights for 90 bucks. Haven’t decided the stab route yet but I’ve got everything else I need sitting on the workbench…waiting.
You were the second person to recommend the Viper. I’ll have to check that out. I do like the idea of a bridge lock for the front because you’re not adding more weight with another connection screw.

The lift 33 is tac driver. The draw force isn’t as bad as the 29.5. I didn’t reviews on my channel and had a lot of the same observations, but the lift did not finish at the top of my rankings for this year. Hoyt killed it with the HB XACT cam.
I literally set the rx8 out to see if there was a difference. There is. Hold the carbon and it’s cold as crap the same as the aluminum but it goes away quick. The aluminum saps you.

Hehe. I always wonder if people are going to notice things like that. Also purposefully leave the bow slightly out of tune when shooting those long-distance shots to see if people notice. miss spell, certain things.
Wow finally a video that your not sitting in a chair smoking a cigar drinking some whiskey and thinking your lifestyle is more important then what you are trying to film, who are you anyway?
You’re still new to archery. I shot Mathew’s for years. If you don’t have a smooth cam like they used to have then it sucks. Try a gout. Smoothest draw cycle on the market.
I don't believe having a module system like that maximizes efficiency on the cams. I've got a Bowtech RPM 360 set at 26.5" (but measures 27"), 64#, and shoots a 325 grain arrow at 306 fps for me. I don't shoot that light of an arrow for hunting. My hunting arrows are 390 grains and they still shoot 285 fps from this bow. This bow may be 9 years old, but it's got rotating modules, and is one of the most efficient, smoothest drawing speed bows I have ever shot. It's also just as quiet, if not quieter, than the Lift.
im not buying what mathews and prime are selling with the mods if its so much more efficient then lets see the numbers. and the grip..... change the whole bow but they keep the grip, the worst thing about the mathews????
I’m with you about the grip. I’m really curious about the mods as well on the Mathews. They are saying going from 85 to 80% let off is going to have a 4 ft./s increase. If that’s the case that’s insane. I’ve never had that happen with any other bow I’ve shot.
@brandonmcdonald6121 what is your TAW these days? I hope you are either super light and fast or heavy and slow. From an efficiency point of view the worst thing you can do is end up in the middle.

Get the 29.5" mods and twist the cables a hair..
You'll be shocked what a fine tuned draw length will do.
I ordered the 80lb mods in 29.5. Think I can get to 82 with the perfect draw length. I won’t actually be able to draw it, but it will be perfect!
I ordered a lift 2 months ago... I was told MAYBE next month I'll get lucky with the right colors arriving. What in the donkey kong is going on with Mathews? There's dealers being told July for new orders at this point.
Contact Bill Pellegrino's Archery Hut in Colorado Springs. The shop has a lot of lifts, both sizes.
So far, I think it’s the most popular bow they’ve ever made. I guess they are limited by their production capacity.
There's no universe where Tim produces a better video than brandon. I've been a subscriber since his video on the traverse which at the time was the best mathews ever produced. Build it and they will come brandon
That was my first video. Thanks for sticking around!
Man i feel we say that about every matthews we own. Its the best ever built
I hope we keep saying it! Year after year!
I stopped believing the "hype" when guys would say how the VXR,V3X, Phase 4 were better than the Traverse because to me that was the best Mathews. That said, this Lift 33 Is a special bow and I'm amazed how much I'm liking it so far.
When does scotch club start?
Now we talkin!
Since you are racing against tim you could make small digs at him like naming this "why the lift is better than the bowtech core ss" lol. Gotta poke the bear when you can 😂
Haha, that’s a cheap shot in my book. Clearly punching down 😀
Viper Archery makes a reasonably priced bridgelock stabilizer
I’ll have to look at them. I do like the idea of the front Bl for the mount
Haha video over! I get it, not much bad to say. I certainly love mine!
Glad to hear it!
My V3X isn't even two years old yet so I'm having a hard time justifying replacing it with a lift but it does look like a sweet bow.
I’m still trying to figure out if I buy a new bow every year does it improve my shooting or just my ego
I like to feel the incremental improvement 😀
Mathew’s bows have been front loaded since the Halon series.
I shot both the 29.5 and the 33 and they are balanced in the hand and not like the previous Mathew’s offerings
I agree it’s arguably the best Matthews in Years. Ever? Maybe the Lift 33 is legit
Where is the mfjj ranch fairy video brandon? Thanks for the mathews Add 😅
Live here on Thursday
After owning my elite, I’ll probably never buy a bow without a rotating mod to adjust draw length and let off.
Good start.....now more. ......I need to see a consistent effort before I delete blowmar.......ahhh fuck, another good day over here MaCdonald.... :)
Keep bowmar too. He goes on some pretty epic giant hunts. I’m a bit jealous of that!
@@brandonmcdonald6121 :) the reality is I'm a big Bowmar fan, his technical content is good, and his adventures are amazing as you say......plus he takes the time and effort to share and take us along. I shouldn't talk shit about him all the time......but for some reason it never fails to make me laugh out loud for several minutes :) maybe some of that's the doobie....maybe some of it's knowing there's a super hero out in the the forest whacking every critter he crosses paths with! Ahhhhh fuck, laughing again over here....
@@brandonmcdonald6121 .....an aside MaCdonald.....regarding “super bow's”....I built a few back in the early 2000's....and would NoT recommend....what a shit storm that caused! :)
Tim 50,000 subs. Brandon 49,999, sorry boss. It will be fun to watch.
Noooooo!!!
You vs tim. Man youre light years more advanced then him in shooting. I remeber last year when he asked what an axle was on a bow to mfjj
I think he’s better at videos than I am. He’s on a good part of the journey too.
Lol…Tim Connor doesn’t have a chance! 😄
LETS GOOO 😀
Every Mathews is the best bow ever made
Oh hell what was the one the one before the V3 or the v3x I can't think of the name of it it's still hanging on the wall and I'm telling you right now I will automatically pick up my BowTech SS 34 I haven't shot the new one I still will pick up that SS I think it is the best bow absolutely hands down but we all like different stuff I want my bow to draw from point A to point B and stop I do not want to feel no dump into the back wall at all and that right there I love about the modulation of the 34 is because you can tune it to that you can move the stops you can flip the cam module you can do so much and put that new time Block in the group thing and blah blah blah I mean they've done stuff that nobody ever has to be able to tune the bow perfectly to you and make sure it hits arrow for Arrow is amazing great job as always Brandon good to see you brother
The lift 33 is tac driver. The draw force isn’t as bad as the 29.5. I didn’t reviews on my channel and had a lot of the same observations, but the lift did not finish at the top of my rankings for this year. Hoyt killed it with the HB XACT cam.
I think you’re in shock on how light bow is, and you confuse yourself with that being the best bow Mathews ever made
Take half an inch out of that d loop and you can stay at 30"
I lose forgiveness if I do that though. I’ve tried and my groups get worse.
I grip tape every bow I own. My hoyt carbon isn't any warmer than my mathews.
I literally set the rx8 out to see if there was a difference. There is. Hold the carbon and it’s cold as crap the same as the aluminum but it goes away quick. The aluminum saps you.
@@brandonmcdonald6121Lizard skin bat tape. You won't be able to tell the difference. And it's grippy even if misty or damp. Thats what I was getting at. If you wrap your grip with something you can't tell.
I’m a Mathew’s guy but the lift is not the best Mathew’s out, the v3x is the best Mathew’s in 2024, who would take the risk of a limb breaking in the stand or in a tournament, Mathew’s v3x is the best bow no doubt
Mathews seem to draw 1/2 inch long. Try the 29.5 with a DLoop 1/4 inch longer than your normal DLoop.
Not a terrible option
We do that fairly often at the shop. This year with the lift we’ve found some pull true to length and some are still long…..33 seems to pull truer.
Mathews bow with a RedWRX hat LOL
Hehe. I always wonder if people are going to notice things like that. Also purposefully leave the bow slightly out of tune when shooting those long-distance shots to see if people notice. miss spell, certain things.
Why would I ever buy something different than a Matthews
If the shop nearest you doesn’t carry them, I guess 🤷🏻♂️
“Longer draw” could you shorten your D Loop? It looks long. Oh and I Sub’d to get ya closer. Lol
Try a Hoyt.
No cams are obviously smoother. But when you balance everything together they don’t compete.
Hoyt#better
I don't believe having a module system like that maximizes efficiency on the cams. I've got a Bowtech RPM 360 set at 26.5" (but measures 27"), 64#, and shoots a 325 grain arrow at 306 fps for me. I don't shoot that light of an arrow for hunting. My hunting arrows are 390 grains and they still shoot 285 fps from this bow. This bow may be 9 years old, but it's got rotating modules, and is one of the most efficient, smoothest drawing speed bows I have ever shot. It's also just as quiet, if not quieter, than the Lift.
Oh. No I just convinced myself not to buy the Lift because I still own the the VX329 and just bought the Core SR. See what you have to say. LOL
im not buying what mathews and prime are selling with the mods if its so much more efficient then lets see the numbers. and the grip..... change the whole bow but they keep the grip, the worst thing about the mathews????
I’m with you about the grip. I’m really curious about the mods as well on the Mathews. They are saying going from 85 to 80% let off is going to have a 4 ft./s increase. If that’s the case that’s insane. I’ve never had that happen with any other bow I’ve shot.
How much those short limbs bend. Just freaks me out.
Tattoo punishment
(Evil laugh)!
Far from the best 😂😂😂 horrible draw cycle that dumps hard into the back wall
Get rid of that dumb bino harness 🙄🙄 this is the dumbest trend in hunting
I agree.
lol
Lol back! (Why are we laughing)
The Lift is crap. My V3 31 is a way, WAY, better bow. You should just give me your Lift.
I see what you did there
@brandonmcdonald6121 what is your TAW these days? I hope you are either super light and fast or heavy and slow. From an efficiency point of view the worst thing you can do is end up in the middle.
I don't see the point in buying a Lift as I have a V3X 33. In fact, I'm thinking I won't buy another Mathews bow till they change that lousy grip.
I switched from the v3x. I get it, but it is noticeable. Maybe next year!
