Just purchased an Akaso v50 pro se with a lot of your help i have had it for a day in foggy England and am very pleased with it. Thanks for your videos and wish you a happy New Year
Hello sir! Thank You so much for purchasing one of our product of akaso. BTW this is Zia one of the tech support of that device. The one who spoke to you earlier. ❤️ More subscriber to come🥰🥰
Hi ! Just tested my V50x with old firmware, out of the box (not the latest firmware that you shared) In 4k 30fps, there is obvious frame dropping. And audio is out of sync. But, in 1080p 60fps, that did not happen. Would you like to check it out?
I bought 2 Akaso V50X cameras to shoot HQ EIS 3D videos. Did not like the hard cropping though...so I swapped the lenses to a wider angle lens. Works like a charm ;) !! If you're interested to see what it looks like here's a link: ruclips.net/video/yrlf-6gqA28/видео.html
Excellent review. What happened at 12:35. It stutter a lot in the beginning of 4k60 but look good after a while and your slow motion from 4k60 shows that all images is in there. Thanks for including 4k60 in the review. Have you tested the dashcam functons?
Hello. I have acaso V50 pro SE action camera. I have some problem with it. When I watch 4K 60 FPS video, image freezes. I use Sandisk Extreme Pro 64 GB micro SD card. I talk to Akaso Company. They said update software. I mad it. But problem not solved. What do you think about this subject? Please help me. Sincerely...
Greetings from India. Took your rec to pick up the V50x. Have absolutely no problem right now. So, are you saying I should stick to the standard firmware for now - the one which doesn't show EIS in the settings menu? So, your review video was on this firmware? Did you just check "gyroscope" to enable EIS in the old version? How well did it do? Apologies for the number of questions. Your videos have been extremely insightful in helping me decide. BIG Thank you!
Yes, stick with the firmware that is on the camera at the moment. Akaso should be releasing a new firmware to address all these issues soon and once they do, I will update everyone as to how good/bad it is.
@@WORTHITORNOT Thank you for replying. Tested out the v50x. Not very happy with video on 1080p. Think I'll be returning it and getting the go pro hero 7 black. Doesn't really make sense to have a nearly product when you're spending quite a bit anyway.
With all the informations given in this video, it's not long video, it's a good lecture. I needed this to ''see'' if the Akaso v50 Pro SE action camera was a good choice or nothing to consider since I already own the Akaso V50 Pro Elite (I like it), I'm considering finally to purchase the Akaso V50 pro SE action camera soon !!!! . Thank you for this fine video.
I love your reviews! I have a question for you: I have just bought a V50 Pro SE, and I’d like to know if there is a way in order to use it for live streaming. Do you think it is possible?
Hello! great video! I bought the v50 pro SE and my camera seems to have a lot more jello effect than yours with EIS on. Any configuration or new firmware to prevents this? Do you prefer v50 pro SE, or firefly 8se?
Hi, do you think the Pro SE is worth more than the v50 x for the price or would you save and get the V50x? and between Pro SE and a gopro 5 black, which one would you choose?
Well, the V50X has great stabilization BUT, it has a video/audio sync issue. If I had the choice between the Pro SE or the Hero 5 black, definitely go for the GoPro, but try to at least get the Hero 6 black as it has EIS at 4K where the Hero 5 does not, and now a days you can find a great buy on the Hero 6 black like here: amzn.to/378USQJ
@@WORTHITORNOT Here in Brazil a new hero 5 is costing around 400 $, very expensive, and a used one is around 200 $, but I don't know if it is worth buying a used or a new from akaso v50 pro SE. I'm not a professional, I know that Gopro is better, but I don't believe that the difference in money isn't worth it, that's why I intend to celebrate an Akaso, but I still don't know which one, I'm between the pro SE and X. There is another camera of action that you recommend that cost between 150 $? I plan to buy on Aliexpress. Thank you very much for the tips.
Hello Sir do you have any idea how to set up better quality on video recording where I have using on motovlogging. I have used 1080 60fps and lack of brightness.
Hey neighbor, any word from Akaso on a firmware update? With such a great product, I thought that Akaso would have rushed to fix the issues. No response from them to my emails. They still have the V50X listed in their Amazon store, but I'm a little concerned that they have taken it off of their website. I've been enjoying my V50X, but recording audio seperatly. A real pain to sync later. Especially because I'm still trying to learn my editing software, (VSDC). Any info is appreciated
Hey, thank you for a great review! I've been watching your channel for several days and it's really helpful. What about battery life differences between Akaso v50x / v50pro / v50Pro Se? I am going to use one of them on the motorcycle helmet with ext microphone and im curious which has the best battery performance. I think mainly about v50x and v50pro ( i don't need 60fps in 4k), which do you recommend? or maybe another camera around 100-120$?
If you're going to shoot in 1080@30/60 I would say that the Firefly 8SE has the best battery life, between the Akaso's, the V50X has good battery life over the V50 Pro in my opinion.
How does the V50 Pro SE improve on the V50 Pro? Is any Akaso model waterproof without a housing, at least for the first few meters (like the GoPro)? Thank you!
Hey man! I was looking to start moto vlogs soon. Would you prefer the apeman a100 or the v50 pro ( not the SE as it’s not available in India) or should I just go for a used hero 5 ?
Great video and explanation and comparison with the side by side - Thank it verified my purchase of the Akaso brand. I ended up purchasing the v50 Pro.
Great and most importantly honest review. Love the way you're doing comparison side by side with detailed explanations so that even average Joe understands what about you're talking about. Don't change the way you do these reviews. About these three action camearas... Looking at those vids you've made here it looks that V50 PRO still has the most natural colours, audio quallity is also on V50 PRO side, no doubt about that and finally V50X has the best IS. About V50 PRO SE... I think IQ, AQ (close to PRO, but far better then X) and IS it sits between V50 PRO and V50X, guess with more refined firmware from Akaso it could improve IQ and IS a bit and when that happens with 4K@60 (especially combined with great budget gimals like Hohem iSteady Pro 2) it could be a budget king camera for those who want all around camera but don't want to break a bank. Keep up the good work! P.S. As someone here in comments just said do some low light footage comparison.
Hello. Thanks for the video. What are the best settings to et that image? Appreciate the help. I just got mine a few days ago but need guidance for improvement. Thanks
The V50 Pro SE is a more refined camera in my opinion, with saying that the V50X has great stabilization but very poor audio where the SE has very good audio.
Thank you for your video. Special thanks for adding the “X”, also. My wife is going hiking so I wanted to get her the best, with in budget, on the market. Thanks again
do you try change lens v50x? i think uv filter in v50x not round shape, more like square.i have this problem on eken h9r and change lens with uv round filter (using gopro replacement) and now is perfect. and i still waiting v50x in local custom.
Again an awsm video...!! Thanks for the warning related to new firmware of v50x I will not update it. I tested it on my helmet and I feel the EIS that work by cropping the image is a bad idea by akaso as we are left with a video that is very less dynamic range, so either I am look too up with cropping my hands n bike handle bars or too down on the road with out lense able to capture the whole scene. Else everything in the camera looks good to me in v50x. Akaso should provide option to increase width and still have EIS on option for us..!!! (My hopes are high I knw..!!)
I have tested my V50 Pro SE when mountain biking over rough stuff and I have found the V50 Pro SE to have quite good EIS and doesn't crop the image as much which is one requirement one wanting to shoot good MTB footage. I sent the V50x back as it cropped far too much.
WHEWWw!.... Wiping sweat from brow. I was just about to purchase the V50X and now I am having second thoughts. I think that I will wait and see just what Akaso come back to you with.
Hi! I was wondering if your Akaso v50 Pro SE has the same issue as mine does - when I hold down the Red Power button to boot up the camera, and it boots up, it immediately starts taking video. It's really annoying to have to delete all these extraneous clips of unwanted video. :(
@@WORTHITORNOT Akaso got back to me. The indicated that Quick Record was most likely on and it was. When I turned off Quick Record everything was working as expected. :)
I have just purchased a V50X. Is it normal that when I record in 4K the video gets recorded in 3GB chunks. So what I mean is, after 8 minutes the camera starts from zero automatically and it is going to be a separate file? Thanks.
@@WORTHITORNOT Thanks for the quick reply. Well that is a relief. I thought something is wrong with the camera. Someone was saying that it should not be like that. So do you have to put all those files into a video editor to make it as one long video? Sorry about the silly question but I only just started to play with these things.
Thank you so much for your videos! I devoured all of them trying to choose between the akaso cams. I've been trying to figure out some things before buying: I saw that these cameras can be also used as webcams via USB, but I can't find information regarding the maximum resolution/fps it outputs to the PC. I also saw that it is possible to HDMI output to a pc using a Capture card, but haven't found any information regarding the maximum resolution/fps it outputs in that way either, or if I could get a clean hdmi signal out of it while live previewing via hdmi. Please, can you help me find out about this?
Thank you, mate. I actually like this comparison. I purchased the V50 Pro SE. And I am disappointed with the Time lapse video making. Are there any issues reported? Since you own this, could you provide me a detail video with better specification
Great review. I ride Enduro dirt bikes on single tracks in the jungles of Thailand, theres a lot of sharp up/down bumps like log crossing and large rocky sections and a lot of sharp left/right turns, and of course there are vivid colors with detail in lush jungle. The highest priority for me is image stabilisation so its enjoyable to watch, followed by detail and color. Which would do better, the Pro or Pro SE? Or should I look at the Brave 6 (if its any better)?
Wow thanks for this video. Was really torn between the v50 models, would probably get the old v50 pro considering the issues with v50x and only marginal upgrade of the pro se.
I bought the V50 Pro SE. The following can not be accessed: Image Stabilization, Auto Low Light, and Codec. I check with a major distributor and can not figure this out. I know there are a few resolutions which do not work with Slow Motion, could there be something selected which will not allow me to select these three? Also, they slow up as unclickable grayed/out.
I had this problem too, I think there is something selected locking it out. Did a factory reset and problem was resolved. Or as mentioned it could be the SD card
Any chance (or point) in doing a V50 Pro SE and V50 Elite comparison? I like the Elite, the little Ive used it. Wondering if the Pro SE is better/worse? Will pass on the V50 X just because of the poor audio
Hi! I was wondering if you know which USB Wall chargers work with the Akaso V50 Pro Elite charger? I'd prefer to not have to always plug it into my computer to charge the batteries. And from what I see among the listed accessories that the USB Wall Charger/adapter isn't included. :(
@@WORTHITORNOT I did get a response from Akaso regarding the rating specs to find an appropriate USB wall charger. Akaso said 5 volts and at LEAST 1 Amp. I ended up getting these ones from Amazon.com that are 5 volt, 2.1 Amp (with Safe and Smart Charging built in) - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SVZDD8P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Thanks for you reviews! You do a really great, real-world job of evaluating things. :)
Crikey! LOL tldr: DON'T PANIC !!! That's my opinion. We've had the V50X for more than two weeks now. Spent a long weekend on Kangaroo Island (yes there is such a place). Came back with awesome footage. Underwater coastal shots with dolphins, seals and curious fish. An amazing rock-steady shot of a 5 foot + wingspan wedgetail eagle flying ahead of the car on a corrugated dirt road (suction mount inside windscreen). Crazy to see the car bonnet or a boat's prow bouncing about and road/horizon dead steady. Never seen anything like it. The time lapse is especially fun. Because of your report Andre I've double-checked our long footage and CAN'T find any issues with audio sync. I agree on your footage it's bad. I'll get back to you if things change. Here's the breakdown on our end: All our footage is in h.265. We used a 128GB Sandisk Extreme U3. V50X arrived from China via AliExpress. It came with the latest 0813 firmware already installed. The V50X was nothing but fun, and I could say a lot more about that. I don't care that the audio is not great. We wanted an ACTION camera. Something we can kayak through rapids with. I intend to run it through Davinci Resolve... temper the colours a little but it's actually not too bad with Australian light. We had some pretty overcast days so tickling the gamma a couple of points helps there. And for the pundits out there we're viewing the footage on a LG 55OLEDC9... looks really great. What the hell do you cheap fusspots want? 😄
Glad to hear you are getting great results and are happy with yours. I bought 2 of these, the first one has the old firmware and I updated it to the latest, then did a giveaway. Decided I like the camera enough to purchase another one and this one came with the latest firmware and the issue is still there. I also only use U3 speed sd cards in all of my 4K cameras and even tried all of them in the V50X, same thing, then I even went and bought 2 of the Akaso recommended sd cards and both of them are the same with the video/audio sync issue. Now I have received over 40 emails from other owners that have the same issues. Hopefully Akaso will address this soon. Glad to hear you enjoyed Kangaroo Island.
@@WORTHITORNOT Maybe we would have the issue if we used crappy h.264? We have a number of shots over 6 mins and honestly can't find anything wrong with the sync. I looked/listened hard. I can pick it if it's down to tenth of a second or so. On your footage it was really obvious... got a real fright before the camera arrived. But it's been OK man. I do think it's worthwhile recommending, as you have, that folks test out their V50X before sending it back. I would suggest giving it's h.265 format a test too, it's the future anyway. Tips: Used SD (any NAND) should be refreshed with a full (slow) format to regain performance. Just a reminder, DaVinci Resolve editing/colorization suite is essentially free for personal use with only a couple of features disabled.
"What the hell do you cheap fusspots want?" 1. Not ignorant condescending remarks. 2. Due to so many models and brands, detailed reviews to make informed decisions. 3. No, I'm not a cheap fusspot. That's just you opinion.
@@xander1756 Did you miss the smiley face at the end? Don't take a gentle rib to heart. No need to lash out. "Eh, I'm just breakin' your balls!" I meant, naturally, it's not a GoPro, so temper your expectations. Otherwise... it's awesome. I've thanked Andre in other threads for getting us onto this excellent camera. K.I. is just a ferry ride away for us Xander. If our real world experience was of no benefit, if you gained nothing from it... nevermind.
I getting a Akaso v50x, to mount it on my motorcycle. To record my travel. I should not update the firmware? How was IS before and after firmware update. Will Akaso release external microphone for V50x
Good video and thanks for the warning I was just about to order the V50X. My budget is kind of limited. Not enough for a go pro or yi 4k+. Maybe I will stretch and get the V50 Pro SE.
Hi, I'm Spanish and I translate with google translate, so I apologize for the mistakes. I am hesitant between buying the v50 Pro SE and the v50 elite, I want it to record videos with my mountain bike, which one would you recommend? Thank you very much
Great video comparison, thanks! I want to take video footage through the front windshield while driving, like a dashcam (but for limited run throughs of a few minutes at a time). Your comments about the Firefly 8Se took my fancy, as did the V50 Pro SE. I am old school and not real technologically advanced. What is a good action camera option you can recommend for me?
You are a legend. I didn't think you'd still be out there cause the thread was a long time ago. Any issues/tricks with mounting the 8SE as a dashcam? I'm thinking to the windshield rather than the dash to reduce vibration/shaking?
Thanks Brotha for these great videos!!I Saw your Video last night on the Akaso v50x, I was just about to purchase the Akaso v50x until I Saw This Video!? So,.. With that being said, Should I buy The Akaso PRO SE instead?
The V50 Pro SE is a great camera with the EIS is better on the Brave 6 plus. Audio is better on the V50 Pro SE, but if audio quality/loudness (can be boosted in edit) is not a concern, I would choose the Brave 6 plus at this point. Hope this helps
1SwoleNole : Most people ask about GoPro alternatives, but these budget action cameras can not compare to the Hero 7, let alone Hero 8 or Osmo Action. So with saying that, get the Hero 7 black and call it a day or spend a little more and get the Hero 8 or Osmo Action and have the absolute best action camera
@@WORTHITORNOT WOW!,..Oh Ok,..Alright Brotha About to get the GoPro (Hero) 7 Black and some accessories..I Know there is a learning curve, hope you make some GopPro (Hero) 7 Black Tutorials for beginners! Thanks for all you do! Stay Safe and Healthy My Friend!!
Hi, Normally I record with 1080P/60FPS and don't have audio sync problem. Today I tried to record with 2K/60FPS and there is audio sync problem in very videos that I recorded today for 2 hours. This totally messed up my recording for the whole day. I feel like returning this camera. What is the next best alternative to V50X? Is there a newer model from Akaso that has great EIS, great mic, great 4K, and no audio sync problem? How about V50 Pro or V50 Elite? Or any other brand that is great and cost about $100? Thanks.
So do you want/need 4K? For around $100 there is really nothing that offers great EIS, Great mic, and great 4K for that price range. The V50 SE offers good EIS,4K and audio which should fit all your needs.
Sorry. I forgot that this video reviews the V50 Pro SE. I just watched again and it looks great to me. And it has 40K/60 FPS. Does the V50 Pro SE has any audio sync problem or any other strange problems?
its amazing how many little action cameras there are out there. the color science is really different on these...Great video man. Your channel is worth it! BTW, why is your spa empty?
My first Akaso was EK7000pro. I now have the V50 pro for a year or so and happy with it. Will look into the V50 pro se. I would like to know more about up dating the firmware? Thx.
Love the effort you put into this vid but,, If you dont upload it to youtube at 60fps we can't really see the section where you did 4k 60fps with the SE.
Depends on what your needs are. What resolution are you going to video in? do you want good audio? do you want good stabilization at the resolution you plan on shooting in?
@@WORTHITORNOT I should have started w some details. 1080p60fps w/ EIS is the minimum. Decent audio, nothing amazing. Will do a few videos surfing but nothing serious. Mostly just chasing my kids around w/ a gimbal attached.
Why can't I transfer videos and pictures with the USB cable from camera to computer ? I must remove the card every time. My other model Akaso 7000 the computer recognized the camera. Any ideas ?
Man, I just love your voice! You should be doing voice overs, commercials, announcing, emceeing, everything and anything. I hope someone finds you if you are not in the business. already.
I used to do radio years ago and did voice over work but that was a long time ago. Wouldn't mind getting back into it honestly as it was fun all those years ago :)
Thank you for doing all this for us. I would like to buy a small and "Cheapy" action cam for my upcoming vacation, and I can't decide between the Acaso v50x and the Crosstour ct9500..(they are about the same pricerange...) .can I ask you to advice me on this matter? Of course I want good picture and good stabilization, but maby the acaso crop out to much of the picture? Thanks in advance!!
Unfortunately I can’t comment on the Crosstour ct9500 as I have never used that camera. For the price the V50X is a good camera with very good stabilization.
Hi, please help me. I confused. Akaso v50x & Akaso v50pro Se both are 4K 30fps but both are video Quality same? When i record 4k 30 fps both are video quality same? which are best 4k 30fps Akaso v50x or Akaso v50pro se
I just received my V50 Pro X from Amazon. I haven't opened the Amazon box and have decided to send it back. I currently have 2 V50 Pro's and their microphone. Can you tell me the current firmware release # for the V50 Pro. THANKS
I have a akaso v50 pro and it won’t let me shoot video in 4K is shows it on my menu but won’t let me select it. Do you have any idea why? Thanks so much for this video it helped a lot
I bought the x and haven’t received it yet but after seeing this video I will be sending it back now. I have two v50 pros and I am super happy with them. I’m not too impressed with the se on your review mainly that brown tint and it not having eis at 60fps. Thanks for your reviews, you are the reason I’ve went with akaso. Just going to stick with my pros til something better comes out from them. Thought the x was going to be good based on your last video but I see it’s not what I took it to be. Keep us updated. Thanks
I have a V50 Pro then bought a Gopro Hero 5 black as an upgrade and was very disappointed the more I used it. Had LCD dimming after one minute, their new firmware made third party batteries useless so it had several issue that were never fixed and also found out their new Gopro still had the same problems so decided to get rid of it and stick with the V50.
Several months have passed since your excellent test. I was very much interested in the electronic stabilization of Akaso V50 X. But I dont like audio performance. I wanted to know if the defects have been improved or corrected with the new firmawere 2020 and then I select V50X
@@WORTHITORNOT Well, I'll go for Akaso V50 Pro SE. On the subject of the adjustable viewing angle of V50 Pro SE, in the smallest angle do you think the result is good? (Perdón por la traducción. Yo hablo español)
Dang it! I have one of these on the way. Have you heard of others having this issue? I’ve watched a few videos and your channel is the first to mention this little issue.
Upright_Throws : Many customers have reported it, I guess the other reviewers didn’t really test it long enough to notice the audio sync issue but it’s there and AKASO is aware of it.
@@WORTHITORNOT Hey just thought I'd chime in again. I received my V50X today and did a 16 min recording and the audio was perfectly syncd for the entire video. Maybe it's the computer you're playing back on? I'd love to know what you think the problem is because as it stands for me it's working just fine.
Hi sir thanks for the video. I also have the V50 Pro SE just want to know what andriod app I can used for connecting thur my phone. Coz the most common app the ismartpro+ doesn't work for the SE edition. Thanks for the help.
Great video and thank you for the detailed comparison. I bought the Pro SE prior to watching your video and I am glad I made the right choice. EIS is great on the X but comes at the cost of video crop. A decent gimbal should result in a better stabilization on the SE or the Pro. I am not sure how Akaso released the X without looking at the audio issue. They should pay you for the detailed QA you did! Overall, the SE is the best pick for me.
@@WORTHITORNOT Your video seems very good but you need to be careful on promoting the Akaso Pro-V 50 SE. I bought it this past month based on your review I went through two of them in the very first day both times the video froze after 1 minute and then on top of that when it freezes you have to take the battery out you can't shut it off. Also I spoke to the managers by the way are about 18 to 21 years old you can tell by their voice, about the firmware when they send it to you can't open the file they want to send me a third I said no thank you I'm going to save up for a GoPro you get a lot of accessories but it's not worth it. I reviewed it for a long time also before I bought it but as I'm looking it gets a lot of bad reviews. People having a lot of problems with it also I couldn't turn on the image stabilisation which I tried but it's not in bold letters so you can't turn it on. in speaking with a casa they didn't really know how to do it either. Also, in trying to download it to your phone so you can use your phone the apps don't work both of them. Just be careful when you promote a product because you will have a lot of people upset.
@@fishing132006 That's crazy that you have had so many issues with yours. I only "promote" as you say items that I have tested and found to be good, with saying that, you might have gotten a bad batch of cameras, which happens even with GoPro as my first Hero 5 was junk and kept freezing on me then finally bit the dust. My V50SE has been flawless in all of my usage with it and I make sure to thoroughly test items before posting reviews of them and trust me, I have thrown many items under the bus here on the channel that did not live up to their claims. Regarding phone apps, I NEVER use these 3rd party apps, I video, then take the sd card out and transfer to my Desktop for editing etc.
Hi. Great comparison. Can the X's Hue and Saturation levels etc. be adjusted in the settings to equal the Pro models? I wouldn't be recording the audio, so not an issue for my use. The image stabilization is my main requirement. Thanks
Also interested on latest update with this, ordered in the UK from Amazon few days ago when it was on early black Friday sale with additional voucher for £65 - will be using for diving initially but eventually also on my motorbike when I get home from travelling. Any update from Akaso on audio issues?
@@WORTHITORNOT That settled it for me, I just need 1080p 60fps with stabilization and wide as can be. Would like 120fps but that's fine. What's the difference between the 6-7 for what I'm looking for.?? I don't need 4k really

Very cool and I'm glad you found it informative. Thanks for watching
The details looks good in all of them but the v50x need a little more vibrant colors.
Nothing too bad
I hope they will fix the audio though
What about the AKASO V50 Pro Endless Summer Special Edition. Is it any different from the regular pro? Or is it more like the SE?
It's basically the same as the V50 Pro
@@WORTHITORNOT Oh okay. Thank you ☺️
I love your reviews! I have a question for you: I have just bought a V50 Pro SE, and I’d like to know if there is a way in order to use it for live streaming. Do you think it is possible?
I haven't tried, but will check and see
@@WORTHITORNOT thank you so much!!!
Thank you for this comparison. I don't know why others haven't made a comparison with the SE.
Hello! great video!
I bought the v50 pro SE and my camera seems to have a lot more jello effect than yours with EIS on.
Any configuration or new firmware to prevents this?
Do you prefer v50 pro SE, or firefly 8se?
I prefer the Firefly 8SE
What is with the rainbow prism thing in bright sunlight? I ordered one of these and from what I can tell both the pro and pro se have this issue.
It's the placement of the lens which catches sun glare.
Love your videos lots of useful info. What would be the best micro sd to use for the SE if I'm primarily recording 4k 30fps?
For all cameras that shoot 4K you need these: amzn.to/3i9HSAY
Hey neighbor, any word from Akaso on a firmware update?
With such a great product, I thought that Akaso would have rushed to fix the issues.
No response from them to my emails. They still have the V50X listed in their Amazon store, but I'm a little concerned that they have taken it off of their website.
I've been enjoying my V50X, but recording audio seperatly. A real pain to sync later. Especially because I'm still trying to learn my editing software, (VSDC).
Any info is appreciated
No word from them at all about these issues. Shame as this camera has a ton of potential
@@WORTHITORNOT Yeah, I'm surprised. Really thought they would respond. Especially since I bought mine directly from them.
I'm looking for a good camera to hold while I run many miles through dirt and rocky trails. Which camera do you recommend with the most stabilization?
GoPro Hero 8
WORTH IT OR NOT? Thanks !
How does the V50 Pro SE improve on the V50 Pro?
Is any Akaso model waterproof without a housing, at least for the first few meters (like the GoPro)?
Thank you!
This one is waterproof without a housing. amzn.to/32UjgXt
Thanks for your update and information of V50X
Hey man! I was looking to start moto vlogs soon. Would you prefer the apeman a100 or the v50 pro ( not the SE as it’s not available in India) or should I just go for a used hero 5 ?
If you can afford the Hero 5, then save up a small bit more and at least get the Hero 6 black or 7 black at least
Great video and explanation and comparison with the side by side - Thank it verified my purchase of the Akaso brand. I ended up purchasing the v50 Pro.
Thanks for watching !
Thank you ! and yes, I will be doing some low light comparisons of a BUNCH of action cameras, kind of the king of budget low light action cameras.
@@WORTHITORNOT Do it!!! :)
Nice Video, I cant find any comparrison on the V50X vs Brave. what would you recommend out of the 2? I'm on a budget.
Audio is not important as its for Trail Riding and only want to spend around £80.
I don't have the Brave to compare it to, but if audio is not a concern, then this should fit your needs
@@WORTHITORNOT awesome cheers man
Hello. Thanks for the video. What are the best settings to et that image?
Appreciate the help. I just got mine a few days ago but need guidance for
improvement. Thanks
4K@30 everything else auto
Thanks for the review!! I'm in doubt, which one will you choose between v50x pro se (97€) & v50x (78€) ? Thanks !
The V50 Pro SE is a more refined camera in my opinion, with saying that the V50X has great stabilization but very poor audio where the SE has very good audio.
@@WORTHITORNOT thanks so much for the reply ! Finally ordered a v50 pro se :)
Thank you for your video. Special thanks for adding the “X”, also. My wife is going hiking so I wanted to get her the best, with in budget, on the market. Thanks again
Thanks for watching
do you try change lens v50x? i think uv filter in v50x not round shape, more like square.i have this problem on eken h9r and change lens with uv round filter (using gopro replacement) and now is perfect. and i still waiting v50x in local custom.
I sent the V50x back as it cropped far too much.
is it water resistant out of a case?
Hello sir, I want to ask you, why my akaso v50 pro se was lacking when I playback my recording 4k60fps?
I don’t know, did you use a U3 speed sd card? If so, I would suggest contacting them about issues you might have.
Yes sir.. I already use u3 sd card..
WHEWWw!.... Wiping sweat from brow. I was just about to purchase the V50X and now I am having second thoughts. I think that I will wait and see just what Akaso come back to you with.
I will definitely do an update video as soon as I hear back from them !
Man we loved it... see my above post.
Thanks for the video one question
For my firs action camera should i get the akaso v50x or the v50 pro se?
The V50X has better stabilization but the V50SE has better image quality and audio.
Hi! I was wondering if your Akaso v50 Pro SE has the same issue as mine does - when I hold down the Red Power button to boot up the camera, and it boots up, it immediately starts taking video. It's really annoying to have to delete all these extraneous clips of unwanted video. :(
No, mine has never done that, you might want to contact Akaso as let them know, they may replace your camera for you.
Hi, check that you have not set the driving mode by mistake.
Thanks.
Yes totally normal
@@WORTHITORNOT Thanks for the quick reply. Well that is a relief. I thought something is wrong with the camera. Someone was saying that it should not be like that. So do you have to put all those files into a video editor to make it as one long video? Sorry about the silly question but I only just started to play with these things.
David Bajics : yes just put one video file after another in your video editing timeline
Since it has a HDMI port you "should" be able to use it with a capture card. I'll have to test it later today or tomorrow and report back.
I'm at 6:33 min and actually I found that the V50 Pro have a better resolution...will check untill the end !
Thank you, mate. I actually like this comparison. I purchased the V50 Pro SE. And I am disappointed with the Time lapse video making. Are there any issues reported? Since you own this, could you provide me a detail video with better specification
Sorry, I have had no issues with mine, you might want to contact Akaso for assistance
If your highest priority is image stabilization then get the Osmo Action or Hero 8
@@WORTHITORNOT sure but they are 3x the price here in Thailand .. I think the SE or the Yii 4k+ best options
Great review .. I tried both so far.. thanks for the effort to help others chose the right action camera
Which of the Eken or SJCAM camera models would you equate with the AKASO 50 PRO SE. In short, more or less acaco analogues.
The SJ8 Pro is a rock solid action camera in my opinion
Great review, love this!
Thank you
Wow thanks for this video.
Make sure you are using a high speed U3 sd card
I had this problem too, I think there is something selected locking it out. Did a factory reset and problem was resolved. Or as mentioned it could be the SD card
Any chance (or point) in doing a V50 Pro SE and V50 Elite comparison? I like the Elite, the little Ive used it. Wondering if the Pro SE is better/worse? Will pass on the V50 X just because of the poor audio
I can do a quick one for you later this week.
WORTH IT OR NOT? Cheers!!
Hi! I was wondering if you know which USB Wall chargers work with the Akaso V50 Pro Elite charger? I'd prefer to not have to always plug it into my computer to charge the batteries. And from what I see among the listed accessories that the USB Wall Charger/adapter isn't included. :(
I just use a simple 1amp usb wall charger to charge my batteries. Works for for me as I don't want to push too much current into the batteries.
@@WORTHITORNOT I did get a response from Akaso regarding the rating specs to find an appropriate USB wall charger. Akaso said 5 volts and at LEAST 1 Amp. I ended up getting these ones from Amazon.com that are 5 volt, 2.1 Amp (with Safe and Smart Charging built in) - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SVZDD8P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Thanks for you reviews! You do a really great, real-world job of evaluating things. :)
Crikey! LOL
tldr: DON'T PANIC !!!
@@WORTHITORNOT Oh yeah man, you'd love K.I.
"What the hell do you cheap fusspots want?"
"Eh, I'm just breakin' your balls!"
I meant, naturally, it's not a GoPro, so temper your expectations.
I mentioned it in the video the EIS was perfect in the old firmware. They are supposed to be releasing an external microphone

I am hesitant between buying the v50 Pro SE and the v50 elite, I want it to record videos with my mountain bike, which one would you recommend? Thank you very much
You will be happy with the V50SE
Thank you very much
Is there any chance to turn on both Image Stabilization and Distortion Calibration on the V50 Pro SE ? Thank you
Unfortunately no
Just bought 50x, so your suggesting NOT to upgrade firmware to both gyroscope and image stabilisation ?
If you use firmware dated 0806 then that one is okay as long as you use H.265 so it won't have the audio go out of sync with the video.
@@WORTHITORNOT Mine just arrived, showing Gyro only , NOT going to update
@@WORTHITORNOT any idea where to get a mic for 50x? Is it the same external mic they sell for 50 Pro?

Great video comparison, thanks! I want to take video footage through the front windshield while driving, like a dashcam (but for limited run throughs of a few minutes at a time). Your comments about the Firefly 8Se took my fancy, as did the V50 Pro SE. I am old school and not real technologically advanced. What is a good action camera option you can recommend for me?
I personally like the Firefly 8SE video quality/coloring much better, so as a dash cam, I would choose that one.
You are a legend. I didn't think you'd still be out there cause the thread was a long time ago. Any issues/tricks with mounting the 8SE as a dashcam? I'm thinking to the windshield rather than the dash to reduce vibration/shaking?
Dave Perrin : Windshield suction cup with 1/4-20 male which will screw right in the bottom of the 8SE
Great. Will it not be upside-down then? If so, does that work without any fancy production to turn it up the other way? Cheers
Dave Perrin : Just rotate it 180* in your editing software
Thanks Brotha for these great videos!!I Saw your Video last night on the Akaso v50x, I was just about to purchase the Akaso v50x until I Saw This Video!? So,.. With that being said, Should I buy The Akaso PRO SE instead?
The V50 Pro SE is a great camera with the EIS is better on the Brave 6 plus. Audio is better on the V50 Pro SE, but if audio quality/loudness (can be boosted in edit) is not a concern, I would choose the Brave 6 plus at this point. Hope this helps

So do you want/need 4K? For around $100 there is really nothing that offers great EIS, Great mic, and great 4K for that price range. The V50 SE offers good EIS,4K and audio which should fit all your needs.

@@陳林-f3v It also works with a 128GB SD card. ;-)
@@pedrovaneijk9290 thanks.
hello, still no solution to solve the audio problem 4K akaso V50X? thank you
Nope not yet
Does the akaso mic for the v50 pro work for the SE?
I don't know as I don't have the external microphone for either of these
Several months have passed since your excellent test. I was very much interested in the electronic stabilization of Akaso V50 X. But I dont like audio performance. I wanted to know if the defects have been improved or corrected with the new firmawere 2020 and then I select V50X
Nope, Akaso has still not fixed the audio/video sync issue. Really a shame as the image and stabilization is really good on this camera
@@WORTHITORNOT Well, I'll go for Akaso V50 Pro SE.
On the subject of the adjustable viewing angle of V50 Pro SE, in the smallest angle do you think the result is good? (Perdón por la traducción. Yo hablo español)
Yes it's good
Was the audio issue in the X only when recording at 4K? Have they fixed the issue?
Audio sync is at all resolutions, still not fixed yet.
WORTH IT OR NOT? Gotcha. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I think Akaso has a phone app, but I don't ever use phone apps with action cameras, so I won't be able to help you with that.
thanks for the info.... it solved my doubt... will stick to buying v50 pro se
Happy to help
@@WORTHITORNOT .... it's very astonishing that most of these companies don't have their service/repair networks in India
I think you'll be very happy with it
@@WORTHITORNOT Your video seems very good but you need to be careful on promoting the Akaso Pro-V 50 SE.
@@WORTHITORNOT Maybe so on the bad batch. Thanks for your reply. I just decided I'll save up for the GoPro 7.
Chris Kennedy : Now that’s a great choice
The color of the V50 Pro is the best. Just look at 7:28 it's much cleaner. The Pro SE is brown colored.
It definitely has more sharpening added on the V50 Pro and yes the SE is a lot warmer of a color tone.
i checked the website of akaso. They don't ship products to Thailand?
Maybe check with a local seller there
Akaso v50 pro se and v50 pro which one is the best for motorsport ?
Pro SE
@@WORTHITORNOT OK, thankx for your reply. Helpful
Hi. Great comparison. Can the X's Hue and Saturation levels etc. be adjusted in the settings to equal the Pro models? I wouldn't be recording the audio, so not an issue for my use. The image stabilization is my main requirement. Thanks
It can not be adjusted in camera, you would have to adjust those settings in editing
What video editing software works with this
I use Premier Pro but any editing software should work
hi there.
I got this camera and so far thank you for your help .
just wanted to ask can i use the EIS at 4k 60FPS?
No there is no EIS for 4K@60
@@WORTHITORNOT Thank you
I have to say your review was really good.
And do far I'm happy with my choice thanks to you.
Also interested on latest update with this, ordered in the UK from Amazon few days ago when it was on early black Friday sale with additional voucher for £65 - will be using for diving initially but eventually also on my motorbike when I get home from travelling.
Any update from Akaso on audio issues?
Unfortunately their latest update still did not fix the audio issue on the V50X
@@WORTHITORNOT ahh shame, will keep my eyes peeled, arrives on Saturday so won't update initially. Thanks
The se seems the widest and that matters most to me, how wide is the SE vs the Hero 6 or 7??
The Hero 6/7/8 have super wide which is much wider than the SE.
@@WORTHITORNOT That settled it for me, I just need 1080p 60fps with stabilization and wide as can be. Would like 120fps but that's fine. What's the difference between the 6-7 for what I'm looking for.?? I don't need 4k really
3 Sons RC : The 7 is the way to go if you don’t want to get the 8. Hero 7 stabilization is much better than the 6 by miles.
@@WORTHITORNOT Thanks a lot..... What about the 7 vs the Yi 4k+ for wide angle and stabilization?
3 Sons RC : The Hero 7. No other camera compares except Hero 8
