Wait what? You guys really didn't get what Jace was talking about? He's a bastard, he knows it, the realm knows it and his only claim to being her legitimate heir is the fact he has a Dragon. What happens when another Bastard that looks more Targaryen than him and has a bigger Dragon decides they want to be King instead? He's already facing potential trouble if/when he gets to that point from his half-brothers Aegon and Viserys, her only legitimate children.

He was saying he is no more special then any other bastard with a dragon. If Rhaenyra were to die and a silvered hair bastard challenged him they would be at war all over again. Because they people would side with the silver haired challenger with the bigger dragon. Stop with the theatrics for a second and just listen. Yikes

Yeah I'm confused how you guys especially, misinterpreted the Jace scene /: His legitimacy has been in question his entire life. He knows that him having a dragon is the only thing proving he should be heir in the eyes of the Realm. I don't think he truly believes his mother is willingly taking that aspect of his claim from him. It's just years and years of built up anger. I'm still support Rhaenyra but she knew the possibility of having sex out of wedlock could produce, and also how the realm views bastards. Yes, claiming these two dragons is the strategically right play, but Jaces' feelings are very very valid.

I feel like so many people don't get the point Jace was trying to make.
Jace has been harassed by the greens and their supporters through his whole childhood because of his parentage. Having his own dragon, Vermax, was a reminder of his identity, that he actually is a legitimate Targaryen. But if any bastard could claim a dragon, what does that make him? He also has been saying through out this whole season how insecure he is about his legitimaty and how he wants to fight for it so he is seen worthy for the throne, so it's no surprise that he finally brought it up.
What if those new riders just decide to switch up on them and want to have their own claim to the throne? What if Rhaenyra dies, Jace is her heir, will those men in her council and the rest of the realm that are loyal to Rhaenyra wanna fight for him?
Those bastards have more Targaryen features than Jace and who is to say that the realm won't change their loyalty because of that.
Let's not forget the fact that they now got dragons that are way larger than Jace's own, he would have no chance against them
Also, his idea (in the show canon) was to get highborn people from houses who married within the Targaryens, not random people from the streets of Kings landing
Yeah, I was really surprised that they didn't get his point. Rhaenyra has to do this to win the war, but Jace's points are very valid as well.

What the fuck? Aren't most of you book readers? I'm pretty certan the girl in the bottom right, the guy above her & the guy across from him all have read the books or have pretty good book knowledge. I won't spoil things to come but how the hell could y'all not get why Jace was upset? I'm SO confused. I get a lot of reactors haven't read the books & thus wouldn't understand how smart & right Jace was. But I was certain you guys would get it

@@thepodwans I watched the stream & had the episode playing along side. I synced as best I could.
And while I saw y'all talk about it.. It just felt like more of the same. Y'all still didn't like Jace saying it & even seemed to dislike Jace challenging Ulf. Or at the least y'all say Jace needs them to win. But again.. as book readers you know what happens. Jace has every reason to distrust these new guys.
Ulf is acting extremely entitled already. Ordering around maids & demanding specific foods, telling his Queen she best make him a knight! Openly committing on Jace's hair & hinting at their shared title as bastards. Yes we all know, but it's not allowed for people to call or hint at Jace being a bastard. He's the heir to the throne & Ulf doing that is wrong. At the very least Huge SEEMS to be playing peaceful.
But Huge also knocked out a guy to get food. A guy who likely had his own family or life he's trying to desperately help with that food Huge stole. And Huge constantly dismisses his wife's ideas. If she dies I'm not sure Huge will be a good dude anymore. And again, we book readers know things.
They only thing Jace said that was 'wrong' is calling them mongrels but that aside everything he said was true. Loyal & honorable high born people aren't likely to turn on the blacks because of loyalty & honor! Could you really see a Tarly break an Oath? Or Rhae's Lord Commander? If they got a Stark or even Beesberry on a Dragon they'd have a loyal rider! That was Jace's plan, not random house lords or whatever.

@@thepodwans Gosh y’all need to rewatch the series cus never in million years did he ever mentioned bastards, let alone lowborns, in his plan.
What Jace suggested was putting LEGITIMATE folks that has associated with Targaryen blood/lineage, that’s why they both went through piles of Targaryen lineage records book in previous episode.
