I love the face of realization Crispy has about what a war with dragons actually looks like. He herocized and romanticized going to war with dragons. Looking at all the carnage, he knows....he KNOWS...he made a huge mistake.
Hit the nail on the head. Even in the preview for next episode, he says something along the lines of, “we’re giving the war up to the dragons.” A war involving dragons has completely shattered his outlook on the entirety of this war. Somehow it took actually experiencing it to realize how insignificant and futile armies are when dragons go to battle.
"Princess Rhaenys made no attempt to flee. With a glad cry and a crack of her whip, she turned Meleys to her enemies." - Fire & Blood (Im fuckin cryin bros) RIP to the Red Queen, and The Queen Who SHOULD’VE Been. Also saw a tweet yesterday, even if not what was intended, makes it a little easier to take. They said that as Rhaenys and Meleys turned back to fight, the little dip they take in the water was them saying goodbye to Corlys and he granddaughters.
I was just saying this to someone else. I really like how they're making sure the audience can tell the time & distance traveling takes. Details like that really make a difference... we saw how awful teleporting made GOT lol
balerion skull was at the kingslanding in season one, we saw it while Vicerys telling his daughter Rhaenyra about the song of "Ice and Fire? thing and now she's telling her eldest son jace @ dragonstone behind them might be the skull of Miraxes
This episode really showed me why the Greens getting rid of Otto was thier biggest mistake because they all dropped the ball this episode. Aegon is upset that Ser Criston Cole is making plans without consulting him but when he did it in episode 2 by sending Ser Arryk to kill Rhaenyra you didn't say anything then instead you rewarded him by making him your hand so now he feels like he can do whatever he wants. Aemond's and Ser Criston Cole plan may have worked but it was not the smart move, because killing Rhaenys was not a win. They should've went to Harrenhall while Daemon was by himself and his guard was down because he's been hallucinating and they could've ambushed him. But now not only do the Blacks have Harrenhall and the Riverlands, they also have the North, the Narrow Sea, the Blackwoods and Vhagar killed the Sea Snakes wife. They should've thought that through a little bit more.
How was Alicent's advice even remotely good? She told him to seek their guidance and then when he did she said shut up and look pretty. She's been going on and on about the sacrifices they made to put him on the throne, when they literally had to drag him kicking and screaming to take it. They keep him out of their plans when he's basically begging them to keep him informed. Wearing a crown doesn't make you wise the same way giving birth does not make you a good mother, Alicent! Also, Meleys had a decent chance against Vhagar in the books (even here it is shown she can hold her own against her and victory was not guaranteed), so springing this trap without letting Aegon in on it was pretty stupid on Aemond and Criston's part. Needless to say, he was in on it and made all the difference in the book, the show just wants to paint him as stupid and incompetent as possible.
14:15 - Baela and Jace's dragons are both small (similair size to Lucerys dragon) and have zero combat experience even if she could have gone back to get them it wouldn't have helped in the slightest. Two or more inexperienced dragon riders with small inexperience dragons against a dragon as large and experienced as Vhagar would have just gotten in Rhaenys and Meleys way, and simply added to Vhagar's victims. Vhagar alone can easily slaughter over half of Rhaenyra's side dragons even if they all ganged up on her. The only one who would have been able to help Rhaenys and Meleys against Vhagar would be Daemon and Caraxes, however he's isolated himself at Harrenhal leaving her with no one who could have backed her up.
The best bet if it wasn’t daemon and rhaenys would’ve been rhaenyra and rhaenys rhaenyra easily could’ve gone against sunfyre because both of their dragons had no fighting experience and syrax may be lazy but that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t have put up a hell of a fight considering rhaenyra is way more experienced as a dragon rider since she claimed syrax at 7 years old the youngest to ever claim a dragon and she will be pissed. Meleys could’ve easily tangled with vhagar. Even baela, rhaenyra and rhaenys against 2 would’ve been very smart move to counter the trap set.
@@Mcherri Rhaenyra did claim a dragona t 7 but that wouldn't necessarily give her a big advantage against Aegon so saying she could easily go against Aegon is being generous. Rhaenyra at most has more experience riding Dragons but most of that is in simply riding them which is different from actual dragon on dragon battle. Syrax as you said barely gets out given she hasn't grown much or at all since Rhaenyra was a teen so so theres not much difference really. Also saying Meleys can easily tangle with Vhagar is being super generous. Meleys was noted to have a chance against Vhagar but thats was a maybe not a garrantue. Vhagar is older and slower yes, but on top of being bigger she has far greater combat experience than any other Dragon alive, Meleys would not have it easy in the slightest, especially if Rhaenys had to worry about covering for others when going against Vhagar would require full focus. There's also the factor of them needing to predict the trap to even think of send more dragons. They had little if any reason to think Vhagar would be hidden there when they knew beforehand she's being kept at King's Landing to protect it.
Yeah me too when he say "all my homies hate Aemond Targaryen" I didn’t go on board with it. Aemond is the best vilain, I can’t hate him. I like him like I liked Cersei Lannister.
aegon and sunfyre are so cute together! i have cried so much for sunfyre! sunfyre is bilingual for aegon 🤣 and protected him till the end. meleys when he looked at rhaenys was so sad . The only right team is team dragons because they are innocent 😭. on the other hand hated or loved the green team carries the series. there are 4 left because taking out daemon rhaenyra and rhaenys the rest are super boring! i hope they give them personality. well and at this point i am team sunfyre! team dareon! team dragons!. and lastly what a great actor tom glynn carney what he did with the character of aegon is a wonderful.
It’s worth noting that Rhaneyra and Aegon have the same amount of combat experience, and came up with the same stupid idea. You call him useless, but Rhaneyra hasn't done much better. They're both useless.
Not at the moment. However I do have a back up of all the unedited reactions. We are just waiting until we get bigger as a channel before we start a pateron. - hereth
I love how strong the bond between Aegon and Sunfyre is. It's cool that Aegon can command Sunfyre in the common tongue.
Thats an intresting way to interpret that sequence. I just saw it as aegon being more incomptent then Rhaenys and Aemond. - Hereth
@@thepodwans aegon and sunfyre in the books have one of the strongest bonds ever

Aemond's the one person on team Green that could read the prophecy on the dagger lol

SO glad long travel times are back. No more teleporting

JJ is my literal QUEEN. She knows everything about the books, but is always the most upset when they occur.

7:52 thanks, I had to pause this and go listen to the song to get it out of my head hahaha.

Not to be that girl but I think this episode solidified Aemond as my favourite character, he’s such a good ‘villain’.
Ewan gives Aemond that badass energy
The aura is crazy.
@@neomohoto8861 lol aegon gonna have aura as well once he gets his villian arc

I'm team black but I love Aemond, he's secretly team black because he killed Aegon.
Noop I like Cristina an Aegon💚💚💚💚💚
The lady needs to stop geeking out every scene.
