@@akoden2667 I find it slightly difficult, but mostly the mechanics linguistically. Rrr's especially. American tongues are commonly placed further back in the mouth when pronouncing sounds, whereas other foreign languages like Arabic, the tongue is relaxed and sounds are formed closer to the front and just behind the ridge. This is not in our heads 🙂

It sounds nearly the same in Maltese! We also use them all:
    Ghajni -of my eyes
    Qalbi-my heart
    Hajti-my life
    Ruhi-my soul
And we also use the double expressions
Qalb ta qalbi, ruh ta ruhi etc
Dawl t'ghajnejja - light of my eyes
Amazing I could actually understand this

Maltese is a semitic language. It's influenced by or rather comprised of Italian and sicilian (more than 50%), Arabic (about 30% - 40%) , and English. So you have a rich language! They say if you listen to a Maghrebi (Arab north Africa) like a Tunisian, there is a good chance you'd understand 20 or 30% of it! Try to find a Tunisian video on youtube and listen to it to find out.

Im Puertorrican and we say this a lot to our children:
“Mi corazón de batata mameya” means my sweet potato heart 😂
“Mi porqueria” means “my trash” lmao but it’s like referring to someone fragile, adorable that you love.
“Benditooo” or “ditoo” means blessed but we use it when we feel sorry for someone or when something is so cute you want to cry. Like “awwww” in English.

In French Canadian, so in Québécois, you actually say "mon loup (male)" / "ma louve (female)", which means "my wolf".
It's actually quite sweet and beautiful, I find. Nordic culture is sometimes a bit austere and this endearing term is quite belonging to that feeling, somehow. You know, in the cold of the land, you still got the wolves. A wolf is savage but is also loving and strives for its community since it lives in packs. All kinda austere/nordic hahahaha. We say less and mean a lot when we speak. In the cold nordic heart, you will find incredible warmth. :)

Here, in Brazil, we used : " my love" = meu amor, sometimes : " my coconut candy" = meu docinho de coco, " paission" = paixão (paishaun), " honey" = meu bem, " my doubtful" = meu dengo, sometines we used " my black" = meu preto or minha preta (independent of the colour of the skin the person have, you see many people that has a white skin used that expression), people of the south say: " my gigt" = minha prenda.
