You don't need touchscreen on portable dacs if you are going bluetooth mode or even control media on your phone once you are fully connected through bluetooth peripherals, you can control media functions with a smartwatch.

I like how the Fiio Q7 just enter and assert dominance on everyone. It's like one of those memes that no matter how good you are at something, there's an Asian kid that do it better, but you're also an Asian kid.
Thanks Z, for android users recommend Tasker, very powerful app that allow do much more with your phone, including messing with volume rocker. I set it up to change tracks like all DAPs: hold volume down to next track, hold up to last but you can set whatever you want e.g. use double/triple rocker press, power or other button of your phone and tons of other posibilities and use cases. Its not flawless and little complicated for first time but it so convenient after. Dont have this unit but planning to buy one, think its a nice upgrade after btr5.
What about the NX4 ? NX4 DSD ? Had basically everything other than BT. Wonder how they would compare sound wise, though I suppose this should shit on it. EDIT: It also has a bass boost :P
For remote control just use a separate Bluetooth remote. Keep the dac/amp in your pocket and change tracks with the remote. I don't do this but I know a few users of these type of devices do.
@@st200ol lol, fair! I just picked up a BTR7 and have been debating about returning it for this instead. I only use IEMs right now and listen to the BTR7 at 25% volume so there is plenty of headroom. @@ZReviews I don't think so. It's such a pain in the ass. Like, at least show it via the Bluetooth connection or something since that's something which could maybe be done with a firmware update?
@@eruilluvitar That's a great idea. Although it won't be that simple to implement this feature, I guess, since Topping didn't concern themselves with any kind of complementary software at all. But it may be a worthy suggestion to be made to their support/marketing representative still.
How would I use a G5? As a portable D+A90 stack. Duh! That's why it doesn't have next track and pause buttons. Because, it ain't on those other units they make, either. It's to give you reference sound quality that you can take with you. It's not meant to be cleaver or fancy. Like all chinese hifi, it's all about the sound quality. Everything else is an after-thought. That's how you know something's chifi. Measurably awesome sound quality, and no frills. It's a thing in this industry.
