I respect it. When I got my first full time job after college I was putting away $1,000 a month by paying attention to my spending. One part of my saving strategy was to go to the supermarket every Sunday after church and get a lb of cold cut meat, 1/2 lb of sliced cheese and a loaf of bread and that was my lunch for the week. My friends used to laugh, but I save $24,000 in 2yrs.
I’m 23 with a baby otw I needed a saving plan brother how much did you put up a week cuz I get paid weekly just started back getting 40hrs after the holidays 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Just look at how much income a got coming in a month and subtract all expenses, bills, food, gas etc. And figure what can go without and realistic amount to save.
I love his attitude and approach. I thought this man was yet another frivolous athlete. This interview is refreshing and encouraging. Too many athletes go broke because they refuse to listen. Good for Ocho!
Rob Gronkowski, for one, said he hasn’t spent his NFL money at all. He’s lived off of his endorsement money alone. His statements got picked up in the media as a major example that it could be done and as a feather in Rob’s cap for his wisdom with his finances. Let’s hope this gets picked up for Chad, as well.
Ben Tate - He was just one example. Alvin Kamara, for another, also says he hasn’t touched one dollar of his NFL salary money. Let’s hope Chad’s story gets coverage, too.
Or the opposite, he is overly arrogant abt his image that he thinks nothing compares to himself and starts acting down to earth bcs nothing else compares

He probably meant knowing what time in the day is free so no need to buy a Rolex. Chad obviously used his time wisely as he is financially free from what I know from his interviews. You can theoretically extend your time on earth by exercising and good nutrition. As we know we can end it prematurely hopefully no one does this but also accidents occurr.
No one's perfect, we all have done things we're not proud of, but this interview made me respect him even more about how he handled money & materialistic items.
Man this man SAID IT!!! Once upon a time I had the slave mentality of feeling like I needed designer brands and jewelry to validate myself. And as I got older I realized how empty I was then. Your name and who you are is of far more value than anything you could ever purchase. Now of course I’m no multimillion dollar athlete, but it works for everyday folks as well. CONFIDENCE IS KEY!
The one quote I’ll never forget that he said in the past is “Money looks a lot better coming in than it does going out.” I think about that any time I may try and get loose on spending when I shouldn't and then I don’t go reckless because I remember that. It’s always been true.
100% true. Also using that money to invest. Even if you lose it, at least its better that you tried to get rich than just spending on something that will bring nothing in return. 10k on a car to get from point A to B with some extra money for emergency is better than 30k on a car, living paycheck by paycheck.

Yes and have with him a bunch of guys that blew all there money and now have nothing
How is he not already working for the bengals?
Smart man , he didn't fall for all the traps most young people fall . 100% respect
@@MR-is4fh with a baby OTW, I prioritized getting everything they needed though, just spaced it out. Thrift stores/marketplace always more affordable
@@MR-is4fh Congratulations brother.
Did you spike it on the ground and say “I’m gettin some cold cuts “
I love his attitude and approach. I thought this man was yet another frivolous athlete. This interview is refreshing and encouraging. Too many athletes go broke because they refuse to listen. Good for Ocho!
Rob Gronkowski, for one, said he hasn’t spent his NFL money at all. He’s lived off of his endorsement money alone. His statements got picked up in the media as a major example that it could be done and as a feather in Rob’s cap for his wisdom with his finances. Let’s hope this gets picked up for Chad, as well.
@@noble604 gronk was already from a wealthy family
Ben Tate - He was just one example. Alvin Kamara, for another, also says he hasn’t touched one dollar of his NFL salary money. Let’s hope Chad’s story gets coverage, too.
dont assume next time dumbass
Maybe if he ain't buy old girl that 8 carrot ring he could buy himself something
Always thought he was an arrogant player, but after listening to him, he sounds very down to earth.
Or the opposite, he is overly arrogant abt his image that he thinks nothing compares to himself and starts acting down to earth bcs nothing else compares
Because the man (white) job is to smear there image

@Hansen Noah okay kid seat in school you need more education to talk to grown folks

I have so much respect for Chad. He needs to be the voice of not just NFL rookies but of all sports on what to do and what not to do. I wish him the very best.
For everybody who thinks this man is lying. He isn’t!!!! I played at the U and Chad would work out with us in the off season because our program was the best for any football player. He would always teach us to wear fake jewelry and not spend money. He had some of the prettiest, biggest, and fakest cubic zirconia earrings I ever seen and I wanted some bad. Your career and your name will always speak for you and not the material things we consume. Athletes, rappers, and entertainers alike have everybody fooled buying expensive materialistic items that depreciate. When people believe that is real, there is no need to have to prove that it’s not. It’s not fake it, till you make it. When you make it, continue to fake it. It’s probably what helped you get there in the first place. Miss Chad for real. Blessings to you brother!!!!
WOW! I appreciate the💎 you dropped brother. Peace and blessings to you!
HE IS LYING.
@@RayNagin504 I was gonna actually write meaningful reply to you but then I looked at your profile and thought …….any man that’s hiding behind a woman’s face either really is a woman or wants to be one and I was resided old school. I don’t argue with women. Good day!

“Time is free what am I paying for it for?” 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
It’s refreshing to see an athlete that has a great sense of who he is and the value of money. He’s a great example for every player and for everyone else.
This is invaluable. I was not a Chad/Ocho fan, during his playing days. But he’s mentally grown as a man. Respecting this wisdom he’s kickin!
Seem like he been had it tho .
@@itzTOP3 True - it's always been in him. He's just able to speak without emotion and with a more robust vernacular. You love to see it.
@@itzTOP3 he may have been financially mature but he wasn’t mature anywhere else. This the same dude that head butted his wife back in the day
@diazjordan54 Evelyn used to be a violent person. Much more violent than what he did.
Meanwhile Shannon is trying to comprehend what is regular people live with everyday 🤣🤣🤣.
"time is free"
Probably one of the smartest mindsets I've heard from an athlete
Time is not free. Time is the only thing we can’t get more of.
We want more money to buy our time back from our employers.
@russellsymes9226 I believe Chad did not mean it literally when he said this . He was talking about watches and jewelry then Chad asked Shannon for the time then Chad proceeded to say time is free.
@@MARZOSIRUSThat was dumb anyways because people dont buy a rolex to know the time
I think Chad was referring to buying expensive watches to tell us the time.
Why buy a $50,000 watch when we all know what time it is?
@@juliankenzo clearly, you don’t buy a Rolex to tell the time. You buy it as a status symbol. He couldn’t used a better example, that’s all.

No one's perfect, we all have done things we're not proud of, but this interview made me respect him even more about how he handled money & materialistic items.
This guy speaks serious truth.
We need more people like him to educate people on money 💵
He is showing so much more maturity than most people ever will have. Great role model.
Smart man, living on his own terms and respecting every decision to take care of himself. Respect.
Mad respect to Chad
So many need to hear this
Man this man SAID IT!!!
Gained a new respect for Chad, a lot of humbleness and great game in this interview 💯💯💯
This episode needs to be standard watching for all rookies in ANY sport!!!
Exactly , just like Deion Sanders bought that GOLD DIGGER TO HIS PLAYERS! LET THIS MAN SPEAK TO INCOMING ROOKIES!

"That's it, that's all you need" perfect quote from Ocho 💪🏾💯
The one quote I’ll never forget that he said in the past is “Money looks a lot better coming in than it does going out.” I think about that any time I may try and get loose on spending when I shouldn't and then I don’t go reckless because I remember that. It’s always been true.
100% true. Also using that money to invest. Even if you lose it, at least its better that you tried to get rich than just spending on something that will bring nothing in return. 10k on a car to get from point A to B with some extra money for emergency is better than 30k on a car, living paycheck by paycheck.
That's facts. Money definitely looks way better coming in than going out
