I was definitely in the zone in this round. It's amazing what happens when the driver and approach play start working well together! THnaks for watching Randy :-)
After a poor first hole you started playing really well.really impressed by your game which has improved so much since your early videos, not be long till you will be into single figure handicap.short game and putting impressive, just get the bunker shots sorted out and it will come.good luck and well done James!
Had the same experience just last night, shooting 41 as my personal best. It was just the other way round - starting the first 7 holes playing par in total (1 opening bogey and one birdie), but finishing with a triple and a double on the last two). Keep going with your improvement and your vids.
Many congratulations on a great round despite a horrible first hole. I have been following you for a quite some time now and have always admired how calm you appear, even when things go wrong. Just goes to show you should never give up whatever the golf gods throw at you. Keep going I’m looking forward to when you achieve a single figure handicap.
Very well done James. The dry, warm conditions does help us higher handicappers for distance but you get some good and some bad bounces. In these conditions I have found the short game and putting has certainly lowered my scores recently. Keep up the good work James, I enjoy your videos and the improvement you have made.
Hi James, when in the bunker, try cocking the wrists super early (it will make you hit down more steeply) and also choke down on the grip are far as you can. Finally, get your weight forward (and keep it there), and aim an inch or two behind the ball. Will give you much more control.
Ah James Congrats! and what a round. Your temperament is exemplary and many would have lost their heads after a first hole like that. As you say perhaps it relaxes you and maybe that's the secret to shooting low! Your whole game is on point with only bunker shots needing some work. What a journey it's been. Great to watch!
Cheers man, that first hole is very tough so I usually expect a bogey or a double. The next few holes are all birdie chances so even a mid handicap player like me can recover! I'm working on the bunker play and slowly getting there. Thanks for watching :-)
We’ll done James! Absolutely brilliant… love the channel and your content.. you make golf look simple and your constant optimism is great to see… I’d love to see a day in the life video… how often do you practise etc….
Great round and congrats on the score! Practice those bunker shots - remember to open your stance 45 degrees and open the club face to flatten it so you can scoop the ball up in the air.
Great round of golf James. Stuck it out after a real disaster to start. You're a testament to keeping the ball in play and getting your putts to the cup. I seldom see you leave many short. BIG SMILES and many THUMBS UP all afternoon. FUN.
Brilliant round James! A great video to watch. You did so well after that quad at the start. Your game is so much more consistent now and you were solid off the tee and with your approach play! As you mentioned, your distance lag putting was spot on again - I'm so envious of how you judge those so well! Even though the course looked parched, the greens looked lovely and nice to putt on. Northop is a course I'd like to try at some point. Well done again on your best round!😀👏
Cheers Johnny, the greens were great on this day and a pleasure to play on. When I'm lag putting I always pace out the putt and have the number in my head (eg. 45 ft) so it helps with the distance control a lot. Thanks for watching :-)
What a round; started with a quad bogey but didn't let it in your head and ruin the round. There were many fine shots but that severe downslope chip on #5 was the best shot of the round, that was really an extremely hard shot. Really nice birdie on #8 to pull the front in nicely. The wedge to tap in distance on #11 set your confidence for the back 9 and you went after it. Even with the 4 missed putts inside 5 feet (imagine if a couple of those went in) you putting was overall very good today and the lagged eagle putt to an easy 3 foot tap in birdie on #15 was great. Wonderful round of golf! 🏌♀⛳👍👍 P.S.: A little tip for your bunker shots, open your stance wider (helps flatten out the swing) and keep legs bent well; I visualize sitting my butt in a chair and leaving it there.
Cheers Tony, the wedge approach on 11 definitely gave me the momentum on the back 9. I was expecting a bogey or double as that hole is a nightmare. Thanks for watching :-)
Cheers Smithy, I didn't want to leave it short or hammer it 10 ft past. It's a weird thing as I was never in that position before! Things are moving in the right direction. Thanks for watching :-)
What an incredible round. Especially after the first hole. It takes a mental toughness to continue playing after blowing up on the first hole. A score well earned.
The par on the next hole settled everything down. It was like starting with 2 double bogeys which I've done a few times on this channel haha :-) Thanks for watching
Brilliant round James on a lovely course with great greens.. Your Ball striking was superb.. Wish I hit my scoring irons as good as you... You drove the ball superbly as well.... Any tips on iron play from 130 yards in....
I'm not really one for giving tips. But one drill I do on the range is to hit about 10 balls with the 9 iron all at the 3 100 yard markers. I alternate each shot between the targets and try and make sure I can get it as close as possible and it's great for the alignment. Thanks for watching :-)
Great video! Congrats on your best round James. Breaking 80 will happen soon! Your game looks solid…. Just need a little work on your bunker play is all. Look forward to the next video.
I’ve watched since your handicap was something around 27, and always thought you were saying missed by a “hare’s breath” - thought it was a welsh thing 🤣🤣🤣 have just realised it must be a “hair’s breadth”
Great rou d James pity about the 9 on your score card but the way you just got on withi it and had the mental attitude to continue Pure dead brilliant 😂Magis
Best score ever with a quad bogey to start. Fair play man ! I would have gone home myself after that first one 😂
Cheers mate, I was going to turn the camera off and just play the front 9 then leave. But I'm definitely glad I kept going! Thanks for watching :-)
This has made me realise i need to chill out
@@samueljarvis427 same for me
I love how this guy swings like an unfolded lawn chair and still shoots 30 strokes better than me.
What a great feeling to shoot a personal best! It's a joy watching you continue to improve.
I was definitely in the zone in this round. It's amazing what happens when the driver and approach play start working well together! THnaks for watching Randy :-)
So fun to have watched from the beginning of this channel and to see these scores now. Great stuff!
Cheers mate, I would have taken an 84 all day long but to go lower was just great! Thanks for watching :-)
Well done James!!!!! I was cheering for you every hole, your lag putts and your wedge play is Excellent, you know your clubs!!
That is an outrageous recovery James… the improvements over the last year have been insane!! Keep it up!
Love the goal posted at the start of the vid. Always step on the course with a goal in mind! Brilliant 👏
Big fan from the US. Great to see the honesty and realism golfers face rather than these hype videos. Keep up the good work and I appreciate you!
Excellent, pity about the first hole. Looking forward to the next round.👍😁🇦🇺

Great round. You really are inspiring me to stay calm and think about each shot.
Well done mate. Your driving and irons were outstanding but like you said your lag putting was 👌🏻
Congratulations! The feeling of shooting your best score is unmatched in most of life. It takes so much work to do it.
After that start you have to b pleased with the round. Well done James
Well done .... some great shot making. Your putting from distance is very good.
Happy days James. Great round after that horrible start! Shows the value of not losing your head. Congrats 👍⛳
Fantastic job, the perseverance to stay focused after a quad on the first hole is 5⭐️. You are an inspiration; I’m still trying to break 85.
What a round James. Not long before the first hole in one arrives!! Iron play is much improved!!🏌️🏌️🏌️🏌️👍👍
Can’t believe how well you play,, a real genuine kick up the backside as to how this wonderful game can be played
Brilliant James. Well done. Heart congrats, especially after the first hole.
Well done mate, another great example of not letting a bad hole ruin your day, excellent comeback after a disaster our 9 on the first👍
Great round, congratulations
Brilliant James. An hour spent in the practice bunker and i think you have cracked it. Awesome lag putting display. 👍💪
Congrats James.. you were really zoned and stripping it during this round.
Well done James, great to watch.
Excellent round. Well done indeed.
All areas of your game were working well today.
Great round of golf James. You are hitting the ball such a lot further now. Brilliant score James well done mate.
Amazing after that start. Brilliant well done!

Congrats on the round, been watching since the early days of the channel, the progress has been great to watch. Well done.

Cheers Peter, I do blow up occasionally but haven't on camera for a while! Thanks for watching :-)
Congratulations marra. Your putting was tremendous.

In these conditions I have found the short game and putting has certainly lowered my scores recently. Keep up the good work James, I enjoy your videos and the improvement you have made.
It's tough to hit the greens, you have to land at the front edge and hope for the best! Thanks for watching :-)
Just getting better and better James. Seriously well done. 👍

Back 9 is outrageous. Fairways hit 💪🏽 well done
Heck of a round after that pinball start. Congrats!
Great to see the full 18, a real treat. Great scoring, I bet you couldn’t believe how well it was going.
Cheers Ken, I didn't get tired like usual on the back 9, it was all plain sailing for once! Thanks for watching :-)
Great round of golf especially after that first hole. If that happens to me I usually lose my head and the round goes haywire. Credit to you.
Excellent 79! I felt I was there with you on some of those “nearly” putts. Good round!
That 4ft birdie miss hurt but the pin was on a slope which was tough to judge. Thanks for watching :-)
It is CRAZY to see how far your game has come in such a small amount of time, dropped over 13 shots in like 2 months! #scratchinbound
Well played, your putting from 50+ feet is a real asset to get up and down or save the 2 putt!
Really enjoy these uploads. You do a great job. Congratulations.
An 81 with a 9 on the 1st hole is really good mate, well played.
What a fantastic knock, 81 with a 9 on the first! Very well played 👏🏼
Those scores keep coming down. Smashed it mate!! Well done 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Well done James
Great round and with a quad to start
Congrats James on your round. You continue to improve, keep it going!
Congratulations James. That was a great round to watch.
8:48 was a fantastic Put, wish I could drop them like that, well played
Great round man & better yet still to come, well done!
Well done!
You played an amazing round James. Way to go!!! 👍
Most impressive part is your mental strength…..and your driver! Great work
Well Done!!! It's great to see your improvement over the last few months! Hoping to emulate the same improvement myself!
Solid striking with the Driver! Good job all round
Well done James great round after the bad start
Sensational stuff. Well played ⛳️⛳️
Great round and congrats on the score! Practice those bunker shots - remember to open your stance 45 degrees and open the club face to flatten it so you can scoop the ball up in the air.

Cheers mate, good off the tee and decent putting and you can't help but score well. Thanks for watching :-)
Woke up after the first hole, another good round 👍
Fantastic round well done James

Way to come back after that quad start, James. Congrats on the career low round!
Great round James! Very impressive recovery from the first hole.
Without that first hole and if a few of those birdie putts had dropped you could have had a 75 there.
Great round. Well done.
Quality golf right there, not quite the mountains you usually play , but nonetheless a round you won't forget !
Well done, 81 with a 9 on the first, had the pace of the greens spot on👍
Cheers, this is still my best score on camera. I have shot 79 twice but no cameras were rolling 😬😬😬
Great round. That single figure handicap is getting closer
shooting below 85 consistantly makes a single digit handicapper 👍😉
Great round , that first hole was a killer
What a round; started with a quad bogey but didn't let it in your head and ruin the round. Sone seriously good golf there! Congratulations!
amazing round James, well done.
Awesome scoring James! Had my fingers crossed for the eagle putt. Your putting was amazing. That is definitely the key to the low score. Great video
Cheers Smithy, I didn't want to leave it short or hammer it 10 ft past. It's a weird thing as I was never in that position before! Things are moving in the right direction. Thanks for watching :-)
Thank you for another great video!

Great round there James! I think if you can work on your bunker shots so they come up closer to the pin you can knock a few putts off that score!
Well played mate 👍🏼I’m a member at Northop and that’s a damn good score! 👏🏼👏🏼
Great round matey, goes to show that even with a shaky start a good round is possible, well played👍👍
Amazing James!! Fantastic shooting and way to stay focused!! The 70s are coming…..
This is great. What a great score. Your swing is effective although unconventional!!
I just hit a 83 with a 38 on the front, my best ever, my life goal on the course is a 79, good work buddy
That's amazing. We'll done!
Good lord you are crushing your driver. It’s come along way!
It helps making all your mistakes on the 1st hole. Well played mate! 😀👍
Brilliant round James on a lovely course with great greens.. Your Ball striking was superb.. Wish I hit my scoring irons as good as you... You drove the ball superbly as well.... Any tips on iron play from 130 yards in....

Awesome round! Way to stick to it!
Great round James! You're more consistent and playing well. I really enjoy your videos.
Cheers Dan, I had the ball on a string on the back 9 and was flushing everything. Thanks for watching :-)
Great video and brilliant achievement
Good steady round although i thought course played quite short think your handicap mark is about right at the moment but keep up the good work
Lovely golf James. Driving looking really good.
More sheep next time please
I’ve watched since your handicap was something around 27, and always thought you were saying missed by a “hare’s breath” - thought it was a welsh thing 🤣🤣🤣 have just realised it must be a “hair’s breadth”
