wise and nice man, welcome China!
you must be Chinese in your last life, lol.
We went to Jiu Zhai Gou 25 years ago as a newly-wed couple. Time flied, the world changed, but the mothrr nature stayed the same, as beautiful as it always is.
我和姐姐一起在1991年去過,是因為看了電影自古英雄出少年。我今年49歲。它是我人生之中最美的地方。包括黃龍
Wow.It's a long time ago, welcome back to visit
I had no idea China was so beautiful. When I think of it, I just think of massive cities with huge apartment block towers, but wow. That's really scenic. There's a whole other world out there.
There are 56 UNESCO world heritage sites and 17 global GeoPark in China.
Stop learning China from western media's lense and you're good to go. China has a whole lots of varieties of landscapes and culture. It's indeed very very rich in terms of geography
ye china is HUGE, not that i've been there but almost every climate is represented within.
So appreciate that Katherine can use English to introduce a real China to western people. Such meaningful!
With due respect, it should be "appreciative." No need can as it's obvious and also should be "so meaningful." Sorry for the correction as what is worth writing is worth writing well and correct. Bad English irks me being a wordsmith.
:D yea the "real" china lol Lets pan to the labour camps and lets go to the North Korean border

I went before tne earthquake. Scenery is just breathtaking.
I went there one month before the earthquake. The hotel I stayed was badly damaged in the earthquake.
Me too, I went there with my mom before earthquake, it was amazing
I happen to see your video recently, Initially was attracted to your beauty and fluent Mandarin. Now, I am fascinated to your journey because your passion for nature, earnest to rural village and impartiality in describe normal Chinese people living. Thank you for introduce China in such a unique perspective. Nowadays, as an american girl living in China alone is not easy, thank you for your perseverance in bridging the two peoples. Your boyfriend is very lucky to have a soulmate like you. I really hope you two all the best with happiness.
I like the casual little chats with the strangers on the road the most. People are so nice. It is a brief escape from the daily grinds for everybody. A peek into another world that is unknown, mysterious or even mythical

You never disappoint your audience. Great Job!
♥️You are so blessed that you get to see so many wonderful places. My parents were born in China , my father passed away several years ago , I then moved my mon to my house after my dad passed away . However I have not had any opportunities to see China neither get to experience what you get to see until I just recently saw your video . It indeed touched my heart by watching the places and people you introduced in your video . It’s my pleasure to be able to really enjoy watching your video to learn about such a beautiful country China through your video . I forwarded your video to my husband and friends . I wish I could know someone there and hope one day I m able to travel to China like you do . It’s a big dream to me . I hope that day I can go to China to experience what you expected. I’m looking forward to watch your future video . I recently just realize people do not see me as an American after Trump got elected . Your video made me feel better and happier. My whole life lives in US . However I hope one day I can go to China and get to travel to so many amazing places like you showed us in tour video . Thank you so much for sharing ❤️🥰🥰🥰
That is true. Even you live there all you life, someone there still think you just pop out there.
Glad you liked it , hope you can come visit soon🌻

Nice hat. Good video.
Edit: The way to heavens is through the clouds. That looks close enough to be called a heaven. It looks so beautiful.
Note: Wei is such a gentleman.
Juizhaigou is definitely on my bucket list for places to visit. Thanks for posting 👍
HAHAHA, Wei is so funny, almost fooled by his acting.XD
Those mountains look like my mountains in Western North Carolina, just without the snow. Thankfully, our snow is mild and later in the Winter season. Thanks for showing us another area of the Sichuan Province.
Do I need to buy tickets to visit your Rocky mountains?
@@eocm3659 those are small hills comparing to the rocky, and nothing even close to Himalayas...
I have been to both and JZG is better. But it is not the best season.
The appearance may be similar but Jiuzhaigou 九寨沟 altitude is anywhere between 7,000 to 15,000 feet.
Trust me, the two places are very different. I love NC mountain area. But Jiuzhaigou’s water is such beauty that we can’t find in NC.
Just saw an old (4 years old) documentary about the place few days ago. I was saying what a beautiful place. I wonder if any of the youtubers in China will ever post about the place. Sure would like to know if it's still as beautiful and unspoiled.
And here you are Katherine the great posting a video of it.
Talk about co insidence?
And I'm glad the waters there are still as clear and amazingly the logs in it are still there.
One thing I like about your videos is that most of them are off the beaten tracks in china. Keep up your good work and am waiting for more videos.
Thanks for the upload. It brings back memories of our visit there in 2018. It was a week or two after an earthquake, and thus, to allow nature to restore and repair, only 1000 or 2000 daily visitors were allowed in at Jiuzhaigou. Like what you had with rainy events, we bought disposable raincoats that gave us protection also from gusts. Jiuzhaigou, if I understand correctly, means "Nine villages or valleys". Since I don't speak Chinese (my wife does), and the guide couldn't understand English, we ended up doing a lot of hand signing. He checked our passports, found out our ages, and stopped us from climbing to the top of the Nuorilang waterfall. Ironically, a lady in our group, probably in her early 50s, almost fainted climbing some of the stairs. We saw Dujiangyan, Huanglong, several Tibetan temples, and spent a night at the Minjiang Haoting International hotel in Songpan. Sadly, we also saw scars of the 2008 violent earthquake along the way. The images of the pristine lakes would however want us to go back there again.
Yeah we saw some people getting really exhausted on the stairs , some people even had oxygen tanks , the elevation makes it feel like a harder climb than it is 🤣
@@kats_journey_east Yeah, I thought Mt. Fuji was a difficult climb until the guy with one leg and crutches passed me on the trail.
A steep creek with nine villages.
What a beautiful city!!! Makes me wanna go there!! The water is so clear! And that colour change!!!
Absolutely gorgeous. Thank You Katherine for sharing your journey with us. It is indeed breathtaking, the emerald green waters, the winding roads (almost got "carsick" just by watching the roads wind like that), and the view from above taken by the drone.
I went there 18 or so years ago. At that time, the road along Min River was so dangerous that I thought I might die there. All the passengers in our bus were quiet and watching how close the bus was to the edge of the river bank. Of course, I made it back to Chengdu. JZG is simply a magical place, no doubt.
same here! when the bus was travelling in the night, the Min river is just like a silver belt, but with ~ 3000 meters down below the road.
Wow, so beautiful scenes and so kind of those Hui people
when i think i can't be more excited to see someone upload a video about my hometown, then I saw my uncle walk by in the video
Thanks for taking us on this delightful journey up the mountains of Sichuan and braving the winding journey for a rare glimpse of those lakes in the forest with their every changing colours. Love the timber architecture and the stone walls lining the intimate alleyways. Your documentary videos r always a joy for me on my weekends. Thanks again.
Is that amazing 🤩 you are like my personal guide . You've been literally every place that I lived. I'm watching your video with tears. Those mountain ,those view are the same back then in 90's except all the unnatural thing after the Earthquake. I used to travel on this road since a was born with my dad's truck . And that's a lot of memories and yes we had a wood house with a basements that we storage our winter supplies lol I hope i could come back to see my hometown after 20 years . I want Thank you verry personally for all the videos and effort .I hope you enjoy the step be careful of wind sometimes they cut face like knife this is why every nativ child has red chicks . If I was there I'll give you the rada . Good work 👍 Zha xi de le

A wonderful surreal place, 9 Tibetan village. I was there in 2007 but thanks for refreshing my memories! Keep on exploring guys!🤩🤩
Lovely couple visiting lovely scenic place on a lovely country.
Wow I just can't get enough. It feels too short for a place. And I like your commentary, maybe make a 2nd part?
Love the birds and other weird, random stuff in your video. Thanks Kat.
Your video is unique for jiuzaigou in a cloudy and rainy day making it special even to the ones been there before.
It will be more beautiful to visit Jiuzhaigou in autumn as the whole mountain will be in different colours.
I am surprised at how clean the alleyways are....
It must be, isn’t it🤓
It's one of the most beautiful water sceneries in the world, deserve to have a trip only for it

WOW!!! I love the camera angle color change! Love your videos Katherine and the cute and funny commentary lol
四川遍地美景,,九寨沟非常漂亮,不同季节不一样的美景,,,必去景点,,
Visited JZG in 2015. And I personally Rate it a MUST GO place in China. In Top 10 list of places in China. Bought a 3 day entry permit. When first thing in the Morning at 7am and got out before 6pm? Even after 2 days , I estimate I cover about 60% of the Area. So much to do and see there. And it is a Huge place covering several mountains, lakes and rivers. Unique place in the World. Wne in April , yet it was Freezing up in the mountains at 8am !! Love the Place.
Beautiful scenery!
Thank you Katherine for the wonderful video. I hope to visit Jiu Zhai Gou one day. I love the villages and side roads that you visited. They are so interesting and amazingly clean.
Really beautiful scenery. You have seen it with your own eyes. A lifetime experience.
Beautiful scenery and it is interesting to see a Chinese-style Mosque! I hope you were not too soaked and wet... Sometimes I find walking in the rain is actually quite nice, albeit with a raincoat or umbrella! :)
Thank you once again for a wonderful video!
That's why I want to go back because there's a good balance of old and new. It's just so organic and beautiful.
Nice scenery. Traveled so far just to to see it must be worth it. I would love to travel to all those small villages and see it for myself. Anyway, I am unable to do that. China is too big. First I have to go to fujian where my grand parents came from to Malaysia.

There is a hill in Fuzhou that I enjoyed climbing. It maybe about 1500 meter high. The view from that hill was spectacular.
Another informative and cool video. Love the friendly people. Well done and thank you 🙏
Best time to visit is the mid summer, in particular after the rainy reason while before the autumn arrives. The temperature and sunshine are both more agreeable at that time.
The water level seemed low during your visit and the water is not daringly and enchantingly blue as in the summer. In summer, when you stare at the ponds there, you feel it is summoning your soul.
Wonderful short trips bringing us into seldom seen areas. Thanks as always. Cheers.
I'm so happy that I found your channel. It reminds me of my solo hitchhiking trip around china when I was 19
Great video, the scenery is astonishing, looking forward to visit JiuZhaiGao in future.
Its soo beautiful there. Thanks for sharing. 谢谢
This is what we came here for travel to place we only saw in documentary video. Now we can see how hard it take to get to the main attraction. Awesome journey you take us.
