Interesting bamboo house. Never thought there are houses that can be woven with bamboo like that. Certainly worth the time to see those. I've seen bamboo houses in my young days around here, but it's mostly bamboo split in half and nailed on to make walls. Most of the time these bamboo houses are not fully made from bamboo though. Only certain parts. Today even if I go deep into the mountains there won't be a bamboo house to be found anymore. Guess you can find bamboo houses in many asian countries but certainly have not seen any woven like that in my life. Woven bamboo baskets we have a lot in our rural communities. Beaded necklaces and wristbands, even beaded clothing can be found near indigenous villages here. All in very colouful designs.
What country do you live in? This was my first sighting of bamboo houses too, bamboo does not seem to be endemic to this place , seems the people brought it in from somewhere else since it was only growing around the village and not in the wild in the mountains

Wow, you guys really took the time and actually found the abandoned small village in such a remote place. It really looks like a remote and less modernly developed place where those people, mainly the White Pants Yao, live. You have a rather different spirit from many others in this world. My maternal grandfather is also from another minor ethnicity in Guangxi “the Black Cloth Zhuang”. it just seems different tribes and ethnic groups tend to differentiate each other by clothing here in some Southern West part of China 😮
I think the people in White Pants (白褲瑫族) are hardworking and productive in the rural/agricultural area, as they have lots of daily products (clothing, food, household, materials) to sell.
and delusional for listening to a dream + thoughtless too wearing white pants for farming. White pants are only suitable for Navy or dandy detective like Sonny Crockett, mind you

This is the most interesting of your videos that I've seen so far. Thank you. My mother-in-law's family name was Yao, though I don't know if her roots are traceable to these people.
@@kats_journey_east I think the attempt to make such a long video is worthwhile. Presenting the process of exploration as raw as possible, rather than generalizing and replacing it with your own words, will greatly increase the credibility and intelligibility of the work. I watched this video twice to avoid missing any interesting details. The government's investment (road building) and subsidy (houses building) have helped the Baiku Yao people out of the harsh living environment, which is definitely a commendable achievement. Hope that there will be more policy support for the development of the rural economy in the future. Your great work has allowed me, an overseas Chinese, to have a deep understanding of China's villages and ethnic minorities. You have incredibly interesting souls! thank you!
I worked with a guy years ago whom always wore white pants. As a matter of fact that was what we called him. I never knew his real name, just white pants. Wow I finally decoded the legend of the white pants. Thanks Katherine!
Even in remote villages. I saw wide and neatly paved roads. I saw schools with modern facilities such as plastic runways. But the people there still keep the custom of herding cattle, collecting herbs and making clothes by hand. Fusion of modern and traditional.
Thanks for your sharing. I cannot go there and see for myself. Your video showed us what is going and how remote people live. I also happy to know government do a lot to help the minority. I really happy for them. Also thank your for your effort to go ther.

wow, just wow. Somehow someway your videos always give me goosebumps 👍 thank you for taking us to witness something so unique yet not well appreciated yet.
Glad you liked it🌞🌞🌞
Once again we learned something interesting and quite obscure from your video.
Imagine Yao Ming walking around this village in his white basketball shorts! :D🤣
I admire your work and I am currently watching all your videos. A huge thank for this gem of documentary on the white pants Yao.
Thank you for the beautiful and insightful video! I felt like I was going on an archaeological expedition for a lost city/village. My mom who grew up in rural Guangdong China enjoyed the video and got a kick out of seeing all the animals which reminded her of life almost 40 years ago (we’re in Chicago now).
Wow! Thanks, Kat and Wei. Such an interesting video and discovery. I like your story and explanation! ❤
*beautiful panorama in village 👍👍🤣😂🤣*
I’m somewhat craving to live in a small village, away from the hustle and bustle of city life!
I find this fascinating. ✌🏾
Yes. I agree. Katherine is doing all the exploration and we get to take notes if we want to be in an off-grid scenario. Lol 🤣
Love the videos in this channel so much. So real and pure. Looking forward to next one.
Katherine, you are a wonderful person, just being able to appreciate the materials with which you work , the subject matter which holds your interests, and the environment, the people, the cultures, and the social circumstances that you have brought to the world's attention. We love you !!😁😁👍👍
My maternal grandfather is also from another minor ethnicity in Guangxi “the Black Cloth Zhuang”. it just seems different tribes and ethnic groups tend to differentiate each other by clothing here in some Southern West part of China 😮
👍👍👍 Lovely and interesting vlog of white pants Yao minority tribal people. Thanks 💐
Blessings
Amazing! Never heard of this ethnic minority group before. Such an interesting culture. Learn something new today from your video. Thanks!
Yes, with you, we witness the big change in rural village. Thank you
Katherine, this is terrific! I felt like I walked 1,000 miles in your shoes! This video is as good as any documentary I've ever seen. Thank you!
I think the people in White Pants (白褲瑫族) are hardworking and productive in the rural/agricultural area, as they have lots of daily products (clothing, food, household, materials) to sell.
and delusional for listening to a dream + thoughtless too wearing white pants for farming. White pants are only suitable for Navy or dandy detective like Sonny Crockett, mind you
yes
Yet another fascinating, interesting and unique vlog showing something that most people rarely get to witness. Thank you and Wei for making these amazing videos.
This is the most interesting of your videos that I've seen so far. Thank you. My mother-in-law's family name was Yao, though I don't know if her roots are traceable to these people.
The length of this video! Weekend surprise spree!
This was a beefy one to edit 😂😂 we got sooo much footage didn’t want to get rid of any of it 😭😭
@@kats_journey_east I think the attempt to make such a long video is worthwhile.
You have incredibly interesting souls! thank you!
Your vids are better than most docos from the mainstream press.
Keep up the good work
Wonderful video Kat. Learned new things about China.
I worked with a guy years ago whom always wore white pants. As a matter of fact that was what we called him. I never knew his real name, just white pants. Wow I finally decoded the legend of the white pants. Thanks Katherine!
🤣🤣
The production level of your videos have really gone up. Keep it up and keep 'em coming.
Thank you for the wonderful clip. 👏👍
Great No other words needed
Thank you for taking us along and showing the White Pants Yao people. Cheers
Even in remote villages. I saw wide and neatly paved roads. I saw schools with modern facilities such as plastic runways. But the people there still keep the custom of herding cattle, collecting herbs and making clothes by hand. Fusion of modern and traditional.
You both just get better and better on your videos.what a blessing to see the real deals
Thank you for showing this unique village
I love this video... Great and unique documentary! Keep up the great work
Thank you Katherine, what a beautiful story. 🌼
Thanks for your sharing. I cannot go there and see for myself. Your video showed us what is going and how remote people live. I also happy to know government do a lot to help the minority. I really happy for them. Also thank your for your effort to go ther.
Tqsm for bringing us to this “time machine “experience.so touching .love to see your video more and more, love you Katherine, you awesome.
Majestic journey indeed! Mahalo!
It is nice to see the achievements and progress of China’s poverty alleviation efforts in a lot of your rural China video around the country
