      One of the worst designs out there IMHO. The filter test should be done with the vacuum up on the table. ALL fine dust is thrown back into the air, no matter how good the filter is.
      Even those back blowers are a mess, I know because I have black furniture... After I vacuum with a vacuum that has the rear exhaust the furniture is incredibly dusty.
      BTW, 97% of my living space is hard floor.

      @@Woot-Zee you realize that people use millions of dollars to test these in a facility that has evidence that they don't throw dust right? Also I don't know what kind of vacumm you are using but good luck having a Asma attack

      @Woot-Zee 5 лет назад +9

      @@eli-we3mr Before trying to insult, try to think a little.
      I was not saying that the filter is bad. I was saying that the exhaust will scatter the fine dust on the ground like hell. I don't have health problems, but maybe others have and it is a serious issue.
      If the exhaust scatters coffee on the carpet, just imagine what happens with smaller and lighter particles. I would love to see how much, in a test done here by Vacuum Wars, because I think it is an important matter. :)
      And last: If you trust those companies that are spending "millions of dollars" to test the product, why are you here looking at a product review done by a third party? Isn't their word enough?

      @Vacuum Wars - Just took delivery and the company was so pleasant and even included two 6 packs of the silver bags. The vacuuming is amazing on wood and carpet- and the stiff brush roller is crazy good. Too powerful for small (30"x48") area rugs with the roller (and sometimes suction) and the demo bag is neatto A/B against your old vacuum but a bit messy.

  • @LlyleHunter

    I’d say that since none of the other machines used on the sample carpet scored in the top tier, the Zero G picked up everything that the others left behind and the excess carpet fluff that the others never got out of the sample carpet in the first place.
    I’m a clean freak and every piece of my furniture is moved every month aside from daily vacuumings.
    I’m a fan of canister vacuums but I like to keep a canister and an upright on each floor. On a daily basis I run an upright in my rugs and a lightweight canister (Eureka Mighty Mite) on my floors. Weekly I use a full sized canister to vacuum under furniture and into the corners in every room and move the furniture in about a third of the house rotating which section of the house where the furniture is moved throughout the month.
    For these duties having a canister is the most flexible way to clean the rooms from corner to corner and ceiling to floor. Having a clean air upright with attachments somehow never seams to do it as well. Uprights are easier on a daily basis and quicker to finish day to day chores.

      I agree, am not a fan of canisters as they require too much fiddling to get other jobs done, The liftaways are a great solution to this, I just wish they were made as well as the top canisters.

    The Zero G vacuum looks pretty interesting to me. It kind of looks like a cross between a Tristar and a Hoover Constellation. The only think I find weird about it, it that the suction relief holes look like an unused spot for an LED headlight (and they could've totally put one there).

  • @queenconvertible

    As some have already pointed out. The cushion of air, feature was originally Hoovers. The Constellation was first (1953-1973), followed by the Air Ride Celebrity (1974-1983ish). The Celebrity would be an excellent contender for this canister! Tons of power, and I dare say, lighter and easier to use too!

    • @dustinhayes835

      TheSpiritOf76 I wouldn’t say lighter as I’m sure it’s the same steel construction as the non air ride celebrities

    I had a heavy older canister vacuum and an upright, which really didn’t work well anymore because of clogged filters that were no longer sold… I wanted to ditch the weight and get some type of vacuum that was simple to operate and light to move around. I believe the body of the Zero G vacuum weighs 9 pounds and is very easy to transport, and it’s about the best deep cleaning vacuum that I’ve ever owned. Unlike the Hoover Constellation, however, this vacuum comes not only with bare floor attachments but with a very sophisticated and well-designed motorized cleaning head. Since I have horrible allergies, I needed excellent filtration as well, and this vacuum doesn’t disappoint. It has HEPA bags and also a substantial filter, which is changed out with every new pack of vacuum bags. It’s very simple to maintain, no dirty hands, and no digging around in the dust to maintain everything. The flotation of the vacuum just makes it very easy to move around over all surfaces, without getting hung up with wheels and corners and other obstacles. There’s nothing like a canister vacuum because of its availability to clean absolutely everything everywhere, and it even makes an excellent car vacuum as well! I’ve had this vacuum for two years, and yes I would buy it all over again!

    Some ways you can reset test carpets or rugs is by taking a super stiff brushrolled vacuum (Bissell Powerlifter brushrolls come to mind as well as a Sanitaire with a Vibragroomer 1 with only beater bars), flip the carpet over so you're the. pad side up, and then vibrate the carpet. You'll vibrate the stuck in dirt out and through the fibers to where you can either vacuum it free or sweep it up.

    Wow I had no idea this thing was that good on carpet that is really impressive. I always thought the floating base was just a gimmick but I see it's actually a useful feature which is nice. Expensive vacuum yes, but not compared to other premium canister vacs like a sebo or miele, in that regard this one is actually very well priced. Not that I can afford to drop that much on a vacuum anytime soon lol but still, this machine actually really impressed me because I was not expecting it to do so well not coming from a well known vac brand that's been in the industry forever. Looking forward to more canister vac videos! You should test the eureka mighty mite I was thinking about getting one as a supplement for hard floor and upholstery only since it will do poorly on carpet presumably because of the lack of a power head.

    Seems like something you'd see in the 50s. Makes me wonder as well how much suction power is lost due to allowing it to float? If they made a second model reworked with wheels so the motor is simply for suction (I can only assume the same motor for suction is used to levitate it as well) would allow the suction to be much greater. I don't know if simply blocking the bottom port would allow better suction, probably would need a big rework with the mold. If its 2 separate motors then that's fine, however the noise has to be pretty loud!

    • @robwalton2007
      @robwalton2007 4 года назад

      @@gregsullivan7408 I agree, Greg. A lot of vac shop owners & other people on forums like Reddit who recommend bagged vacuums over bagless vacuums, claiming bagless vacuums are horrible, seem to forget one thing - Bagless was invented FOR A REASON! Back in the mid 90's when Fantom & other bagless brands started to be introduced & become popular, paper microfiltration bags were the best bags you could get for most new vacuums, HEPA Cloth bags didn't come out until the early 2000's. Even then, bagged vacuums still have one HUGE problem - the pores of the bag become clogged prematurely with dust & dirt. The only way you can get around it is take the bag out, take it outside, give it a good vigorous shake to dislodge the dust from the walls of the bag, then reinstall & keep on vacuuming. This is EXACTLY why bagless vacuums were invented - constant suction & airflow as long as you keep the pre-motor filter clean or you clean the pleated HEPA filter in the bin on lower end models. The ONLY bagged vacuums that have come close to inventing a bag that doesn't lose suction & airflow until they are nearly full is Miele. Their 9 layer HEPA Cloth AirClean bags are the only ones presently on the market that maintain their suction & airflow better than others; the bag material itself captures the dust & dirt in 9 different layers of material, so while it doesn't get clogged completely with dust & dirt, it resists it much longer than other paper microfiltration bags or HEPA Cloth bags. The only other ways to get a vacuum that maintains constant airflow & suction is to buy a Rainbow water filtration vacuum which uses water instead of cyclones or filters in the bin to trap & hold the dust, or buy a Kirby & use their HEPA Cloth bags, as direct air "fan first" vacuums with HEPA Cloth bags maintain their power better than clean air bagged canisters & uprights.

However, the flour under carpet testing of the Kirby proved that it removed nearly all of it, if not all of it. So it would be hard to determine if it does clean better but even if it comes close to it, I would buy the ZeroG. Especially for my mom. She loves canisters but hates how the weight of her Rainbow hurts her back and it gets caught on corners. Also hates how short the hose is but if this floats it probably won’t feel like a problem at all.

      If you get one, consider a Miele. You can set boundaries for them to stay in. Robot vacuums are more like brooms instead of vacuums when it comes to removing dirt and debrees. They will only clean the very top layer. I suppose they are okay for maintaining already-clean floors but they don't do a whole lot. In other words people pay for the technology, not the performance with robo vacs. It's basically like buying a $600-$1,000 broom in terms of results.

    Nonetheless, the review is spot on, as I am used with this channel! :D

      Sounds like you would benefit from a vacuum with a sealed HEPA system, I ve had similar issues for years with dust just flying out. Now, we proudly own a Miele, and I dont think I would ever switch, unless it's for a Henry, because let face it, he performs very well, and is just adorable!

    • @Woot-Zee
      @Woot-Zee 5 лет назад

      @@plainlybasic2300 I have the Miele S8 too. (the old 2200w model version) :)
      You are right, I really like it. Especially that the blower is oriented up.
      As a robot vacuum, I own a Roborock S50.
      I would love to see that quality of a robot vacuum with a bigger bin, bigger brush(AKA, Neato D7) and the blower oriented up (Philips). :D
      i.imgur.com/nnWwOZY.jpg
      (That Twister XL brush is amazing too)
      Healthwise: I had somebody in my family who was highly allergic to dust. I am willing to bet that this vacuum would have been a great problem/pain for her...
      maybe @vacuum wars is willing to count the particles on the floor too, because it may help others to stay away from these kinds of models.

    First off these are great vacuums. They are well made and work great. Now why you shouldn't buy one. The price has ballooned to $799 as of 9/24/22. Up from $500 when they came out 4 years ago. They are probably a victim of inflation and rising costs like everyone else. The geat performance value they once were is now gone. They are now directly competeing with the brand name German made vacuums like Miele and Sebo. A Sebo K3 with the ET-1 power nozzle is about the same price and a better machine long term. Other reasons not to buy would be no cord rewind at this price is a joke. The other big one is that Zero G is a very small company. They have been going out of stock on a regular basis for long periods of time. They may not be around in a 5 years when you need parts or bags. Then you are stuck with it and at $799 its not worth the risk.

    • @djufu1
      @djufu1 7 месяцев назад

      I’m convinced you have something against this particular vacuum as I’ve seen your exact comment on just about every video on RUclips about the Zero G. The price is currently $679 and they are almost always offering some kind of promo code for $100 off for almost all holiday’s or special occasions. When you include all it comes with it’s still the best bang for your buck for a high end machine. The equivalent Miele, Sebo, Kirby or Rainbow with all the same parts are gone to run you well over $1000 brand new. I don’t consider Dyson, Shark or most of the other machines you can walk into Target or Walmart to buy high end so you can’t even compare it to them and even if you do it works circles around them. The lack of a cord rewind I find to be very much a non issue. It’s been over a year since your comment and they are still round and selling the vacuum and supplying bags.
