    Great tutorial, thank you. A lot of the other instructions for turning a circle into a square use DC in the corner and they don't turn out so square. You use the treble crochet in the corner, with 4 sc and that makes this a real square. After doing the square I was so much happier with the result - a real square and not a wonky one. Thank you so much, great clear tutorials with stitch counts and clear instructions.

I’m trying my best to figure it out, but if you have any advice I’d truly appreciate it!! Thanks so much for a lovely tutorial. ❤️

    Love this! Thank you so much, am learning from scratch through your video and have made two circles so far and will start the square section soon. What's the best type of wool or yarn for this? And the best hook? My yarn seems to have a lot of fluff on it and I occasionally get my hook snagged or through the wrong section because of it.
    Please let me know if you have any tips!

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet
      @AdoreCreaCrochet  2 месяца назад

      I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the tutorial and making progress on your project! When it comes to choosing yarn and hooks, it often comes down to personal preference, but here are some general tips:
      Yarn Type: For granny squares or any crochet project, it's often best to use a smooth yarn that won't catch on your hook. Acrylic yarn is a popular choice for beginners because it's affordable, widely available, and comes in a variety of colors. Cotton yarn can also be a good option, especially if you prefer natural fibers or are making items that need to be durable and washable.
      Yarn Weight: The weight of the yarn (e.g., fingering, worsted, bulky) will affect the size and drape of your finished project. For granny squares, you'll typically want to use a medium weight yarn (also known as worsted weight or aran weight).
      Hook Size: The hook size you choose will depend on the weight of your yarn and your personal tension. For medium weight yarn, a commonly used hook size is around 5.5mm (US I-9). However, you may need to adjust the hook size to achieve the desired gauge and fabric density.
      Smoothness of Yarn: If you're encountering issues with fluff or snagging, try using a smoother yarn. Some yarns have a tendency to shed or fuzz more than others, so opting for a smoother yarn might help alleviate these issues.
      Hook Quality: Ensure that your crochet hook is smooth and free of any burrs or rough spots that could catch on the yarn. Investing in a high-quality crochet hook made of smooth material like aluminum or stainless steel can make a big difference in your crocheting experience.
      Experimenting with different yarns and hook sizes can help you find what works best for you and your projects. Don't hesitate to try out different combinations until you find the perfect match! If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask. Happy crocheting! 🧶

    Can this pattern followed for larger circle also to turn into squares

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet
      @AdoreCreaCrochet  19 дней назад

      Yes, you can use the pattern for a circle in a square granny square as a basis for creating larger circles within squares. Here’s how you can approach it:
      Scale Up the Circle Size: Adjust the starting circle diameter to be larger if you want a bigger circle within your square. This might mean starting with more rounds of increases before transitioning to the square part of the pattern.
      Maintain Proportions: Ensure that the number of stitches and increases you use for the circle are consistent with the size of the square you want to create. You might need more rounds of increases for a larger circle to ensure it fits within the square.
      Transition to Square: Follow the pattern as usual for transitioning from the circle to the square. This usually involves crocheting corners and sides around the circle to form a square shape.
      Adjust Stitch Count: Depending on how much larger you make the circle, you might need to adjust the stitch count for the square part to keep the edges straight and the square shape even.
      Experiment and Test: It’s a good idea to experiment with different circle sizes and square patterns to find the look you prefer. Crocheting a few test squares with different circle sizes can help you determine the best approach for your project.
      By following these steps and adjusting the pattern as needed, you can create beautiful granny squares with larger circles inside. Have fun experimenting and happy crocheting! 🌼🧶

    Somehow all my rounds are curling... They look like small bowls. I counted all my stitches and already used a bigger needle than advised for the yarn (yarn said 3 mm, I use 3.5). Does anyone has an idea what could be the problem? Help would be very much appreciated!!

    • @AdoreCreaCrochet
      @AdoreCreaCrochet  Месяц назад +1

      It sounds like your project might be experiencing curling due to your stitch tension. Here are some tips to help prevent curling:
      Looser Tension: Try crocheting with a looser tension. Tight tension can cause the fabric to curl up. Pay attention to how tightly you're pulling the yarn while crocheting.
      Block Your Work: Once you've completed your project, blocking can help relax the stitches and flatten out the fabric. Wet blocking or steam blocking are common methods used to reshape and flatten crochet projects.
      Try a Different Yarn: Some yarns are more prone to curling than others. Experiment with different types of yarn to see if you can find one that lays flatter for your project.
      Edging: Adding an edging around your project can help weigh it down and reduce curling. You can try adding a round of single crochet or a decorative border to help stabilize the edges.
      By adjusting your tension, trying different stitches or yarns, and considering blocking techniques, you should be able to minimize or eliminate the curling in your project. If you need further assistance or have any more questions, feel free to ask!
